My Dear Darling,

Maa sits to write another letter to you hoping someday when you are a gorgeous young girl with a beautiful soul and an integral mind-set, you will be able to read and understand that which is unsaid so many times ...

So, today we will talk about spiritualism or food for soul.

Have you ever wondered what is it that attracts me (and I can see, now, YOU) to our beloved SHIVA so strongly? The answer is simple, if we see it simply, and complex, if we don’t understand simplicities of life. We will not arrive at the answer here on the spot, I would rather take you on a walk in the forest where we will sit and talk and gather conclusions along with the trees, the leaves, the wind and the most important thing – SILENCE.

I can see you have a very fertile mind and imagination, you ask me questions like why we hurt leaves when they have life, why a teddy bear is abandoned on the road when there is a possibility that it has a heart and it might get hurt too ....you make me smile with your crystal like purity, you mesmerise me with your divinity – my little walking angel ….

If you look around you, and look real strong, you will see SHIVA smiling and talking to us everywhere.

He, in the form of tree,

He, in the voice of songs

He, in the sparkling stars

He, in the orange leaves

Do you remember our Scotland trip? Do you remember river Tay in the morning? Do you remember when first time you witnessed the flaming orange trees lining up the road? Did your soul dance? Did you sense SHIVA and his lap? I could sense you did, but your biological body was not equipped enough to express it in so many words. Remember our little secret of God being the painter of the view we see through our car (Kiddo) window..mesmerising isn’t it?

When we look around us we see everything was built with perfection and with a purpose. The purpose of stars, moon, sun, wind, earth, and ocean is to give us a constant message. A constant message of the fact that everything was born EQUAL. Fragmentation happens in our mind/thoughts. The rain does not differentiate between classes while pouring and so does pain and miseries. So if you pick up anything in the nature (beauty and pain both) you will see, it equally impacts us all. We will focus on the beauty part here since I feel, with our limited capabilities (which is actually limitless but unused by us) we focus too much on miseries and ignore that which is scattered around us – the BEAUTY.

However, talking of miseries (in short form here) we often see people miserable about money/wealth. When there is wealth, people are miserable about peace and love, when they have peace and love they are miserable about not being able to make trips, when they can make trips they are miserable about not having a house, when they own a house they are miserable about not having enough stuff and ......so the cycle goes on…… If you look at the pattern carefully you will see misery prevails because we allow it to, in our minds! It prevails because we focus on so much, that which we do NOT have, that we forget to look at things, that which we HAVE.

SHIVA (nature and all his manifestations) had already bestowed us with loads of wealth prior to our arrival in the human body. The millions of stars, the millions of galaxies, the free wind, the free water, a soul which can feel, a mind which can think, an intricately made human body which can survive, our families, our friends ….the list will go on and on, if you CHOOSE to focus that is.

2 people can differ in the size of bungalows they own, the kind of cars they possess, the bank statement they manage, but they will never be different in terms of number of stars shining on them, the wind caressing them, the rain wetting them, the flowers smiling at them!! Amazing isn't it?? Amazing how what was made without the intervention of human mind, does not know how to fragment. Hope you are still with me and got the point.

I am sure by now you have wondered what a scientist SHIVA must be to build our body! How is it that all the hearts are same, everybody has lungs, blood is red in every person (even in so called blue blooded people :) nature’s joke …haa..haa..) also, again it re-emphasizes the fact that equality is the buzzword in that world which we call divine !

Nature also has one more secret (it has many secrets and you have to keep solving the puzzle!) – have you ever wondered why diamonds are found in coal? Why pearls appear in shells? Why does coconut have water inside it? (Water is elixir of life right?) Why does lotus appear in muddy water? Why is it there are hidden beauties in external simple appearances? - Yes, it is because nature wants to tell us what is important is INSIDE, do not judge by what you see, INTENT is what matters. If read differently, it can also mean that it wants to tell us beyond the exterior lies an interior which is as shiny as a diamond, the TRUTH!

If you dig deeper you will see the pattern is generalised to each atom of universe (including unseen) – there are seven days, seven colours, and seven notes in music! What is with this seven??? If you keep breaking each pattern you will come to know you were made of THAT!! The thousands of galaxies and stars!! You are a walking talking kernel of that vast galaxy. Your body has that rhythm, the cycle of birth and death like stars. The monthly cycle of your body like cycle of seasons!!! Are you getting thrilled to know what a miracle YOU are!!! Above all FEMALE body also has a kernel of creation – you can be a MOTHER and BE GOD!!!! When you came back from school today you said you were feeling as if sun was inside you because you felt too hot… it put me to thinking – is it that we are born with this awareness but the view becomes less and less visible due to layer of dirt on our viewing glass…

We often discuss about rain and how the cycle of evaporation and condensation gets water back to where it was - to its SOURCE. Is it that it has a coded message? – does it hint at "the cycle of karma", that goes around comes around? Does it denote the cycle of life and death? we get back to source we belong to! Why it is that water has no colour? Why is it that it takes the colour which is put into it? Does it have anything to do with the state of our soul? It is pure, colour-less, attribute-less, is it that our perception adds colour to something which in its purest form has no attribute called colour? Think about it.

I know you must be smiling by now, your heart bursting with all the beauties and messages around you – guess that is the reason why our old sages, who knew the truth, would keep calm and smiling (remember Rishi Pipalada? How composed he was with Lohitang?)

That brings me to our scriptures. Do not borrow your ideas from anybody. The day nature decided to bestow us with mind besides heart, it had a purpose – yes, and you got it right! There is nothing that can replace an experience. Become knowledgeable, read books, listen to people, but come to your own conclusions. Our scriptures are full of coded divine messages, you need to have an evolved soul and open mind to understand the coded messages. Like I have already told you in another letter – look at the characters in the story but look at them as coded messages – SHIVA , the essence, the Shoonya, the attribute-less, the formless , the highest form of INTEGRITY , isn’t that what most souls vie for – to be THAT !! From thence comes the mantra – SHIVOHAM – I am SHIVA! Who is Indra? Isn’t he prone to all the temptations in life? Why was he named Indra? Do you know that our sense organs are also called Indriyaan!!! Aren’t we all tempted because of our sense of seeing (beautiful girls), hearing (gossip), skin etc… who is Guru Brihaspati? Why does he stay with Indra always? Why does he keep directing him in the right direction? Is he, the sense of right that is inherent in all of us? The sense which tells us to deal with temptations??

Reading and understanding our scriptures will take you more than one lifetime (if lifetime expectancy is average of 80 yrs.!) but I will be more than glad if you are able to just scratch the surface of it. I can assure you, it will heal your soul and make you a beautifully strong person. You will know to love and live life if you are able to understand and grasp their messages. It will bring you back to the forest we are taking a walk in, back to the river, the leaf and all the stars scattered so unattended by us

Maths is your favourite and it was maths and science that brought me more close to SHIVA. I like the integrity of the numbers – a 2+2 always produces 4, CONSISTENTLY, always! So if a rich wrote the equation and the poor wrote it, the answer would always be 4!!! Miracle! Science and maths is but manifestation of spiritualism (my take!)

There are so many other things that I want to talk to you, but there is a time for everything. I will wait for another day when my hands are forced to type incessantly because the energy inside me wants to put it in words for you , It cannot be planned, it just happens

We have discussed almost everything that is an integral part of the chain of events called life, that is why I told you – SHIVA is all - from the atom to the galaxy to the yet not-comprehended!

The Heart of Shiva

My deep and obsessive fascination with Shiva began as a young child, as the mythology of Shiva addressed the archetype I have always identified with most: the primal ascetic. As psychological growth led me to a more rational understanding of reality, I came to understand Shiva as a primitive archetype corresponding to entropy - hence the appellative mahakala. Shiva came to represent to me the arrow of time, the creative as well as destructive dimension of space-time. Cosmologically speaking, Creation then corresponds metaphorically with the Dance of Shiva, where at every level of complexity, beauty and salience are supported by comparatively large quanta of random permutations at lower levels. Much of my scientific motivation and interest in information-theoretic aspects of physics and biology stems from this metaphysical lemma.

A breakthrough in my understanding of both Shiva and reality was set in motion by my chancing upon an interesting definition of Shiva about nine months ago. Shiva, in some Vedantic tradition the name of which escapes my memory now (UPDATE: Its originally drawn from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), is defined as `that which is not'.

Shiva is defined as that which is not.

This thought, while innocuously koan-like in its statement, led to much thought and meditation for me, culminating in a post-rational cathartic experience this summer. It has led me very deep into questions concerning the relationship between the Physical and the Spiritual worlds, the one characterized by the passage of Time and the other by the increase in fullness of Joy. It has also brought together the intellectual and Sufi strands of my thought into a rather interesting synthesis of understanding, where Shiva is now the source of the undifferentiated Consciousness that, in turn, is the source of all reality. Not to put too fine a point to it, I now believe that the story of existence can best be told as being a meditative thought in the heart-mind of Shiva. All insights that we obtain into Nature and our internal selves are reflections of the heart-mind of Shiva; the very possibility of comprehensibility arises only because that which comprehends (awareness) is an instantiation of the heart-mind of Shiva.

I raise these autobiographical details to provide context for what follows here. The Shiva Rudrashtakam is a piece composed by Tulsi Das, one of the greatest and least respected intellectual giants of the Indian Middle Ages. It is written in Sanskrit and contains eight couplets in praise of Shiva. I must confess that my Shaivite tendencies caused me to be rather dismissive of Tulsi Das and his typically Vaishnava (dualistic) compositions when I was younger. The Rudrashtakam changed my views. In the course of eight couplets, Tulsi gradually traverses the philosophical spectrum from definitive non-duality to definitive duality in a shockingly elegant manner.

Here, I translate the Rudrashtakam from a completely non-dualistic viewpoint, thereby thwarting, in a sense, Tulsi's noble intent. I contend, however, that it is of some value to regard the Rudrashtakam as a non-dualistic characterization of the nature of Shiva rather than as an explanation of the essential unity of the dualistic and non-dualistic understandings of Shiva. While the latter is more intellectually salient and deep, the former is more emotionally charged and potent as a meditative aid.

Lastly, I am sure some grammarians might take offense at what they might consider liberties I have taken with the language in my translation and metaphysical innovations that I have sought fit to introduce. I therefore emphasize that this is a subjective translation by a scientist in the 21st century, not an objective one by a Vedic scholar. Without further ado, let us delve into it. Most lines are translated individually, making two notes per couplet. The seventh couplet is translated in one place.

Shiva Rudrashtakam

namami shami shana nirvana rupam vibhum vyapakam brahma veda swarupam

We sing of Consciousness: the ontological fundament of the physical Universe, the contemplation of whose nature is the source of inexhaustible Joy. We sing of that which is all-powerful for those who meditate upon energy (latent motion), all-encompassing for those who meditate upon motion (activated energy) and the primal cause for those who meditate upon causation (source of motion-energy).

nijam nirgunam nirvikalpam niriham chidakasha makasha vasam bhajeham

We know that to be Shiva which is the devourer of the interior perception; that which is beyond categories, beyond qualities, beyond causality and differentiation. We know that to be Shiva which is the devourer of the exterior perception, the deconstructor of all narratives of external reality, who exists beyond the physical universe.

nirakaramonkara moolam turiyam gira gyana gotitamisham girisham

We know that to be Shiva that is formless yet forms the substrate for all levels of Consciousness, the generator of Turiya, undifferentiated Consciousness. We know that to be Shiva that transcends all these levels, beyond individuated comprehension.

karalam mahakala kalam kripalam gunagara samsara param natoham

Shiva is that which unfolds both the involution and evolution of the Universe. Shiva exists beyond the realm of physical reality.

tusharadri samkasha gauram gambheeram manobhuta koti prabha shri shariraram

Shiva manifests in external awareness as the perilous, blinding radiance of the mightiest snow covered mountains. Shiva manifests in internal awareness as a formless form verily defined by the reflections of countless rays of light.

sphuranmauli kallolini charu ganga lasaddhalabalendu kanthe bhujanga

From the creativity of Shiva springs the sustenance of all that lives. From the will of Shiva spring all mysteries and death.

chalat kundalam bhru sunetram vishalam prasannanam nilakantham dayalam

All archetypes of physical beauty stem from Shiva, all aestheticism is but the comparison of the percept of the object to the percept of Shiva. All archetypes of morality stem from Shiva, all virtues are judged relative to the anthropomorphized nature of Shiva.

mrigadhisha charmambaram mundamalam priyam shankaram sarvanatham bhajami

All asceticism finds its root in Shiva, all practices of yoga and meditation stem from the desire to perceive Shiva. We sing, therefore, of Shiva, the universally beloved.

prachandam prakrashtham pragalbham paresham akhandam ajam bhanukoti prakasham

The ferocity of storms, the luminosity of stars, the indivisibility of unity are all pale reflections of the potency of Shiva. Shiva sows the Seed for all of Creation, and appears in the perception of all that is created as the brilliance of a billion suns.

trayah shool nirmoolanam shool panim bhajeham bhavani patim bhavagamyam

The thought of Shiva heals suffering through alienation from the Source in the physical, subtle and causal realms. The thought of Shiva is accessible only when thought of the self dissipates through the arousal of Divine Love.

kalatita kalyana kalpanta kari sadasajjananda data purari

The thought of Shiva suspends awareness of Time, it generates deep insights and transformative catharses. The thought of Shiva always rejoices those who seek it sincerely.

chidananda sandoha mohapahari prasida prasida prabho manmathari

The interior representation of Shiva takes the form of supreme awareness and bliss, dispelling delusion. Therefore, we sing and embrace the thought of Shiva.

na yavad umanath padarvindam bhajantiha loke pare va naranam

na tavatsukham shanti santapa nasham prasida prabho sarva bhutadhivasam

A fascination with external categories and causalities associated with them inevitably leads to uncertainty, alienation and unhappiness which manifest themselves as deleterious transactions with the external environment. We sing and remain mindful of Consciousness that moves all thoughts and action so that they may always remain useful.

na janami yogam japam naiva pujam natoham sada sarvada shambhu tubhyam

Self-awareness requires no denominational practices or rituals. The only requirement is a continual and persistent mindfulness of the interior representations of Shiva.

jara janma dukhaugha tatapyamanam prabho pahi apannamamisha shambhu

It is miraculous that finite instantiations of the Infinite can hope to merge with it. We sing, therefore, in the hope of perceiving the heart of Shiva.

i am speechless ...where do i begin....a little friend i met on blog (she was studying when we met around 4-5 yrs back) goes on to work hard, gets herself a job and then we both shift to a foreign country to pursue our respective dreams.

we find it funny how we are moving across geographies together ....

she works hard, learns a lot from life and then one day gets her first pay check !

and guess what she does?!!! ...because she has been part of my struggle she sends me a part of her first pay check as a good luck symbol to me ...to take away my struggles!!

what a heart this girl possesses! what a beautiful daughter to a beautiful mother! what a lovely soul!

i was speechless and weepy by this gesture...today morning i receive an envelop with a hand-written mail and the good luck coin from my buddy....i just don't know how to react ...i cry..i read and then i try to assimilate this beautiful bond...

i place her luck coin infront of my Lord Shiva (along with her letter) and request him to send back the good luck and happiness that this coin carries in manifold form to her.....

a beautiful gesture needs a beautiful divine blessing! isn't it my fortune that i stumbled upon such a beautiful soul in a virtual world of void...?

girl, you are precious, you are pure and you will get only the best from life..

Note: This is the story of Sita - Ram, one of the most profound and beautiful depiction of what human love can reach to. Ram is considered as Patita Pavan who is somebody who cleanses the unclean. The Ram who stood as Maryada Purushottam (the best of all) had turned Ahilya from stone to a living being with his non-judgemental touch. Ahilya was cursed into stone by her husband who doubted her chastity. Sita, who was the chaste of all, was asked to leave Ram's palace for his subjects doubted her chastity.

Ram is the most adored GOD for Indians. The love of Sita - Ram is the cornerstone of all concepts of love and marriages in India. Ramayana is one of the most loved scriptures of Indians. It is all about character and story which also represents our psychological planes. The separation of Sita-Ram has been one of the most tragic stories we have grown up with.

Gods Don't Retire......

My Dear Betu,

I come back with another story hoping that someday you will know the essence of all my letters…. :)

So, today I will tell you the story of a man ….. a man we admire and adore …a man you will not know with so much fervour like we do, simply because you would have crossed this historical moment unbeknownst to the impact it has had on lives of my generation, unbeknownst to his greatness and the reason why he became a legend at a tender age of 40!!

But by the time you are matured enough to read this letter of mine, you will also understand why he is special …so here is the story of a man called the GOD of cricket …..

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

He gave his farewell speech today November 16, 2013 at around 12.30 approximately, and it was precisely around this time when lives of many Indians like me changed ….cricket will never be same again ..…and the house which watched matches and waited for this hero to come and bat will never feel this sense of reverence, sense of awe, sense of a feeling “wish I had a son like him”, sense of “wish my daughter imbues his values”…..a sense of love, peace, respect and confusion of how is it possible for a human being to be treated like a GOD and live that respect ….to have adulation since 16 and yet not lose his head …how…how…how ???

Cricket will be vacant

Cricket will be devoid of sense of awe

Cricket will never be same again

So what makes this man so special? His run records, his centuries, his half-centuries, his batting style… what…?? Do you know when he is out on a 0 he is still a hero J ….in a vast country like ours, in a diverse setup like ours you don’t hear a murmur about him (of course there will always be voices who will question Sita and Shiva….)….

He is like a house built by Howard Roarke …. average people did not buy his house, but those people who bought it would not barter it for anything in this world!! That house is Sachin Tendulkar… if you know him and know the crux of where all this reverence comes from …you will worship the Shivansh in him going beyond 0 and 100…

This man …. Had a very very tough task of playing the role of GOD in the lives of us Indians (we are emotional fools J) …and he did it with so much of grace…so much of patience…humility

He is a representation of what good parenting can do, what humility can do, what good values can do for you …

When you read this letter do know one innermost desire that I have…. Read up on him, learn about him …and if possible beta…if possible do try to take the path he took….of purity, dedication and focus…then your 0s will also receive a standing ovation …..for there are good cricketers…but to get a guard of honor from the rival team…you have to be what Sachin is J

Once you get to know him you will know why words kept failing me when I started writing up on him… the reverence that humility and honesty desires cannot be capsuled in words….you have to feel it…..and I hope someday when you are reading this you will understand my innermost desire….especially when you become a mother J

My dear love…

I am around 2 mths late in posting for your birthday. Sorry!

So you have turned seven …the roller-coaster ride that we have had as a daughter-mother duo is now taking a clear shape

Sometimes your little head must be wondering why maa always tells you stories (you get bored) of Raja Vikrmaditya, the king of immense power who chose humility and truth over pride and aggression , she is also going to bore you with stories on Raja Harishchandra who stood for truth despite all the odds he faced in life!

You are now well versed with Bapu and his saying “an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind” – you love that poster in your room right?! J

I have noticed that your little brain inspires you to lie (sometimes) or present inaccurate data infront of maa simply because you don’t want to incur her wrath J . You also try to show that you are grown up enough to know what is right and wrong for you …. I am amused and more worried…this is the time… this period of development will separate my being a good mother vs a failed mother.

If I am able to instil the truth, integrity and sense of self respect in you ..i will die a peaceful death, knowing no matter where you are and with whom you are …you are a happy person for like I always tell you …your talents, your truthfulness, your books are your best friends …no human can replace them …the love that we always search for in opposite genders or outside us is actually always residing within us …love yourself…respect yourself …for you can give only what you possess!

Ok , so here is a story by maa….hope one day you read it and know the depth of it …hope you will know that what I ever wanted was to see you in peace and happiness…

We have been watching Devon ke Dev Mahadev and for a little soul like you, it comprises of lot of characters and story lines J but when you grow up you will realise they are CONCEPTS which had to be told in terms of characters and story lines to allow them to permeate a normal human mind who is too busy thinking about saving and future and has no energy left end of the day to get into quantum spirituality

So you saw the character Jalandhar and also a character called Andhak. I will talk about them in some detail here –

They both are SHIVANSH , meaning they were born out of energy of Adishakti /Prakriti and Purusha (in the form of Shiva- the ultimate, and , Parvati- his split female part)

The focal point of those characters –

They both were born Shivansh but Jalandhar chose to represent OVER-AMBITION and Andhak, LUST.

So how can a negative energy of over-ambition and lust be born out of that which is TRUTH (Satyam Shivam Sundaram!)

Put simply it can be understood like this – every energy in itself contains both the positive and negatives of that energy (Genetic science, physics and your mausi ma can explain that to you later)

They both are provided with a matrix of choice, to choose their path, each path leading to a particular end… the truth gives you options …again and again to play with your choices and change the end product of your journey

Jalandhar (read over-ambition) despite his sheen and glow of immense love for his wife, sense of doership for his people and a brilliant spark of truthfulness (truth defined as per his level) had to achieve salvation and go back to his source. Andhak, on the other hand, born out of pure darkness chose to let pass all the data given to him through a dark tunnel of his mind and soul and arrive at the residual value of the data or skewed form of the same e.g. when his Guru Shukracharya (read him as INTELLECT) tells him he is a SHIVANSH , Andhak choses the data “so I have the power of Mahadev (GOD of all GODS)” …..instead of the truth that “he was the son of SHIVA and PRAKRITI and hence it was immoral for him to desire PRAKRITI as his lover” !

So, when you receive a set of data ..do give it a chance to appear infront of you in the most objective manner – you see we give a character to it based on our level, it is as IT IS!

Do you remember the story point where Jalandhar complains about how his father SHIVA (read truth) chose to ignore him despite the fact that he was in pain! This is what Shiva told him “How could I ignore you when I was never separate from you, I was always there..with you …in form of your wife, guru and mother but you chose to ignore me”

Someday you will feel the pressure of my moral science lectures, someday you will fight with me for a normal life of being ok with things not approved by me… someday when I will seem separated from you …remember Jalandhar and remember what SHIVA said to him.... you were never abandoned, for one cannot abandon oneself right? You are born out of me…so you are me and I am you … like SHIVA says …YOU and ME happens when we make a choice of seeing duality…if you remember that you are but a part of me you will know that what I do for you is for me J I do not have different standards for YOU and ME…

One day you will be a mother and one day you will know the experience of ONENESS…that little girl with her own head, mind, soul and learning and yet carrying you inside her …always….it will fill you with immense joy and you will want to give her the bestest in the world…

My Great GrandMom was married at the tender age of 9 and was widowed at the age of 13 (that is how old families in India used to work) ....My Grand Mom was born to her ..a single child......family lore says she was never angry (my Grandpa was!) ....and she had a heart (which was damaged and hence had to be replaced with a false one) of Gold....i loved her and admired her soooooooooooooo much...,.

never in my life i have had puris the way she used to make them....the pooris and aloo ki sabji somehow were very heavenly...probably because the main ingredient she used in cooking was love :)...

i love her...and hope wherever she is ....she is wrapped in the warmth and love of God....

Once there lived a man, made up of earth and soul. I hear stories about him from my elder siblings and my father

He was my grandfather aptly named VED ANAND (VED is the science of knowledge which is deemed as the last stop in hunting of secret wisdoms and ANAND means BLISS)

When he realised he was not able to fend for my father’s studies he ate only ONCE- in- a day for 14 LONG years!!!

We were so poor that we did not have staple food to eat– he would grow potatoes and feed his family

He had fallen from being a Jeth Raiyat (a high position of that era) to being a man who had no money to educate his kids, a fall which should not befall on enemies even

But he persisted

I hear stories like how he never told my father to study (the longest time that my father has studied is 45 minutes), of course he was born brilliant! With borrowed books and library he cleared his states examination and became a state level administrative officer who was revered and loved by his colleagues. His fellowship money (my father was a scholarship winner) of 18 Rupees was used to run the household and his education fee. He could not sit for Central Level exam (IAS) because he did not have money for the forms…

My Grandfather would be outside my father’s examination hall with Sweets (rasgulla) after each exam, he told him “I want to feed you so much of your beloved stuff that after a point of time you will not have the NEED to have them”

When my elder sister, who was the first and only child to be born in our family then, because of her childhood insisted upon having some staple food and not boiled potatoes always he would wipe tears off his eyes and look straight. HE WOULD NOT BORROW, even not for his beloved (my sister)

So was HE!! not to be bent...no compromise on VALUES!

Later on, my father went on to become a successful officer, a man who refused a job with INDIAN AIRFORCE because that would mean going away from the family and that was not acceptable to him! Like my grandfather, my father is a self – made man too! He refuses to compromise on his values (especially with finance)

Lots of things have changed now, my Grandfather’s passion for education flowed from him to my father who later on put us in choicest of schools to make sure we grew up to be a refined being

We have not seen financial issues and I cannot imagine which man with this earthy body would GIVE UP on food

I am a parent – am I capable of such missionary zeal for my child…I doubt…

My father insists he would never be able to better his father when it comes to being a good father …

I miss him so much today…wish I was matured enough to know what kind of SPIRITUAL TREASURE I had when he was around…the only thing I remember about him is …he would always put the first morsel in our mouth before beginning his meal… he is alive amidst us all in us and in the family- lore

I miss him…..so much…that my heart aches and my eyes weep…

i was taken aback and told you to ask for the wish of health etc first and then later on you can ask for all those things ..

oof!! your innocence makes me laugh and cry at the same time!!!

darling, i have kept that tooth with your bunch of first hair cut (in the salon) and the piece of umbilical cord which you shed once you were 6-7 days old :)...you know mommy's wealth collection !! she feels richest looking at them... :)

by the time i introduce you to my blog you will be grown up enough to understand why i keep all those "first" things with my jewellery set :)

In the territory of science, they say, nothing can be designated the rock-solid status of a ‘theory’. Hypotheses are all that anybody can think of, and today’s established theory might be shown the door tomorrow. The field is diverse, researches unending, and discoveries incessant and earth-shattering.

Every century has been a witness to many revelatory discoveries and inventions in science. But the latter half of 2011 went a step ahead. It shook the basic bedrock of Physics, almost rendered in tatters the foundation of Albert Einstein’s iconic E=mc2: scientists at CERN cast doubts on the ‘fact’ that nothing travelled faster than light. Certain neutrinos, they claimed, might, travel faster. The entire scientific world was shaken out of their luxurious realities with this revelation. Challenging the God of Modern Physics wasn’t something that someone did every day, after all.

July 2012 marked another milestone in the history of Quantum Physics – God Particle, they claimed, had been discovered. The God Particle, otherwise known as the Higgs boson particle, is one that has been instrumental in holding many in taut suspension ever since its purported existence rose to the fore. While Albert Einstein has been immortalised in realms superterranean, and Peter Higgs’ list of awards don’t find an end, the other scientist whose namesake is a part of this God Particle, has been brutally glossed over. His contributions never found the international acknowledgement of a Nobel Prize, and the irony is even more glaring in the fact that several researches but the foundational one on the ‘Boson’ particle have been honoured with that ultimate recognition.

Bose’s research career spanned decades of hard work and inadequate recognition. What with his path-breaking researches on particle physics and notable discoveries in quantum statistics being among the greatest achievements of the 20th century, SN Bose could easily have been awarded a Nobel Prize. His overarching status of a researcher might then have been done some justice to.

The God Particle, which has created such a deafening brouhaha in the last few days, wasn’t one that just came into being. The Higgs boson particle, based on the Bose-Einstein Statistics, was one that had its hypothesis in place – thanks to the work of this Indian and Einstein. With its existence now on its way to embrace the pedestal of the truth, one might be forced to wonder why was it that while on the one hand Physics is replete with mentions of Einstein, on the other, Bose is a man who is hardly in the radar of recognition.

Satyendra Nath Bose, in early 20th century, along with Albert Einstein, engendered the basic tenets of the particles called bosons. And what followed thereafter is a saga of friendship, symbiosis and a relationship that transcended the mortal realms well into the immortal. Bose-Einstein Statistics, the Bose-Einstein Condensate and work on bosons are glowing reminders of that phenomenal relationship – which gave rise to several foundational elements of advanced physics.

With the Higgs-Boson particle on the threshold of solid discovery, Satyendra Nath Bose might have been happy with his work being the fulcrum of it all. Pride is not the only emotion that an Indian would feel at Bose’s name being a part of that which is supposed to be the crux of all matter. The feeling is an amalgam of an inarticulate rush of emotions. . Almost four decades since his demise, the man has been re-instated as an immortal – and this time, the entire world has been jolted out of a stupor. Years of neglect later, realisation has struck hard.

Speaking to a packed audience Wednesday morning in Geneva, CERN director general Rolf Heuer confirmed that two separate teams working at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are more than 99 percent certain they've discovered the Higgs boson, aka the God particle—or at the least a brand-new particle exactly where they expected the Higgs to be.
The long-sought particle may complete the standard model of physics by explaining why objects in our universe have mass—and in so doing, why galaxies, planets, and even humans have any right to exist.

Higgs Holds It All Together?
The Higgs boson is one of the final puzzle pieces required for a complete understanding of the standard model of physics—the so-far successful theory that explains how fundamental particles interact with the elementary forces of nature.
The so-called God particle was proposed in the 1960s by Peter Higgs to explain why some particles, such as quarks—building blocks of protons, among other things—and electrons have mass, while others, such as the light-carrying photon particle, do not.
Higgs's idea was that the universe is bathed in an invisible field similar to a magnetic field. Every particle feels this field—now known as the Higgs field—but to varying degrees.
If a particle can move through this field with little or no interaction, there will be no drag, and that particle will have little or no mass. Alternatively, if a particle interacts significantly with the Higgs field, it will have a higher mass.
The idea of the Higgs field requires the acceptance of a related particle: the Higgs boson.
According to the standard model, if the Higgs field didn't exist, the universe would be a very different place, said SLAC's Peskin, who isn't involved in the LHC experiments.
"It would be very difficult to form atoms," Peskin said. "So our orderly world, where matter is made of atoms, and electrons form chemical bonds—we wouldn't have that if we did not have the Higgs field."
In other words: no galaxies, no stars, no planets, no life on Earth.
"Nature Is Really Nasty" to Higgs Boson Seekers
Buried beneath the French-Swiss border, the Large Hadron Collider is essentially a 17-mile-long (27-kilometer-long) oval tunnel. Inside, counter-rotating beams of protons are boosted to nearly the speed of light using an electric field before being magnetically steered into collisions.
Exotic fundamental particles—some of which likely haven't existed since the early moments after the big bang—are created in the high-energy crashes. But the odd particles hang around for only fractions of a second before decaying into other particles.

Theory predicts that the Higgs boson's existence is too fleeting to be recorded by LHC instruments, but physicists think they can confirm its creation if they can spot the particles it decays into. (Explore a Higgs boson interactive.)
Now that the Higgs boson—or something like it—has been confirmed to indeed have a mass of around 125 to 126 GeV, scientists have a better idea why the God particle has avoided detection for so long.
This mass is just high enough to be out of reach of earlier, lower-energy particle accelerators, such as the LHC's predecessor, the Large Electron-Positron Collider, which could probe to only about 115 GeV.
At the same time 125 GeV is not so massive that it produces decay products so unusual that their detection would be clear proof of the Higgs's existence.
In reality the Higgs appears to transform into relatively commonplace decay products such as quarks, which are produced by the millions at the LHC.
"It just so happens that nature is really nasty to us, and the range that we've narrowed [the Higgs] down to is the range that makes it most difficult to find," ALICE's Evans said.
Despite the challenges, ATLAS's Gianotti said, it's fortunate that the Higgs has the mass that it does.
"It's very nice for the standard-model Higgs boson to be at that mass," she said. "Because at that mass we can measure it at the LHC in a huge number of final states. So, thanks Nature."

It was a code red!!

she had arrived in a mangled state

at first they thought it was a major accident case

they could not see her mangled face

she did not exist

the operation began promptly

human life was divine

Gods were there to protect her

but

they had to give up mid way

a flat line EEG meant her brain had given up

her thoughts ..her thinking power.. was completely shut down

loss of any case

was a severe loss for these life savers

what intrigued them was that when her heart was open

they saw scars of old wound with the new fresh wound

it was as if

the heart had been in pieces earlier too

when they tried to peep into her eyes

to see if something could be saved of the retina

they found small shards of glasses in them

shard of crystal dreams

they knew

it was an open and shut case

she had arrived dead

but her soul had refused to leave

and hence the confusion

she was declared dead clinically

they issued a death certificate for her

am i confident, under confident, conceited or plain idiot
am i closed or open
why do i giggle like a child
and cry like a heartbroken adult
am i a hero, a coward or non-existent entity

will this tiring journey ever end .....
