so...
i started this blog 8 months ago, eager to share with the world the many things i love about this whole wedding stuff. i think the whole engagement thing was so intesne that i got a little carried away and forgot many other wonderful aspect of who i am. like so many others out there, i'm not just a bride to be, but also a daughter, sister, best friend, twilighter (haha i've got to admit that), music enthusiast, foodie, lover of all things strange and unique, avid reader, etc... i've decided to use this blog to share various aspects of my life, still mostly wedding related and some non.

you don't need to go with fresh flower boutonnieres/brooches now days, especially if your budget conscious! handmade alternatives are a perfect way to cut the cost and make it uniquely "you" ;)

My nephew had his 3rd birthday party about a week ago. To my surprise, he wanted a super Mario themed party. Now i know there is still some Mario stuff out there, but its all pretty much dominated by Dora/Diego or Thomas the train stuff. Between myself and a good friend of mine, it took about 6 hours baking/decorating and I spent roughly $70 because I didn't own any baking material. nonetheless, to see him really happy was all worth it ;)

I think most people use off white shades like ivory or cream, but its refreshing to see people use actual color. I know that these dresses take away the tradition of the bride in all white, but I think some of these are kind of cute. I don't know if I'd personally wear one, but anything unique and off beat always catches my eye =P

Gwen Stafani, I think she was actually the first person I've seen in a colored wedding dress.

I'm really fond of themed weddings and I've always liked a midsummer night's dream. So whimsy and magical;) I was trying really hard to find a grooms picture that would actually look good with this, but no luck. Sorry I don't have credits for these, I started doing this on my fiancee's computer awhile ago and lost track of all the links, but I don't own these photos!

I did this board for one of my best friends. Shes a multicultural southern butterfly, Dads from North Carolina and Moms from the Philippines! Like me, she is extremely indecisive. She is debating on these colors currently- teal, orange, and yellow. I'm not sure how well everything flows together, but I guess I fulfilled its purpose because she loves it and its sooo her! I'll be doing a few more boards for her later, but heres the first one. what do you think?

...bustle back that is. Bustles were very popular during the Victorian era and you know that I am absolutely in love with that era! The purpose of the bustle was to prevent the dress from dragging on the floor because back then they wore a lot of heavy fabrics. The vintage bustles kind of remind me of a duck butt lol. A few days ago we took my nephew Leland Marley to go see Thomas and Friends. I never knew how popular he was until we got there. Boy do they mark up the price at these shows, $15 for a mini flash light thing that he will probably lose in a week! It was worth it though! I don't know what it is but seeing a kid so giggly and happy is one of the best things to experience. I just love how their hearts are so pure and genuinely happy at that age (not yet corrupted haha). Makes me really me excited about having a family someday ;)

I just found the cutest damn things on perfectpallet . Love Birds, I likey! Alooooooooooooooot. These Love Bird cake toppers and much more are by Lauren Alane, please check out her website she has the cutest freakin birds I've ever seen. I love how she has birds for various couple's personalities! I can see Billy with a playstation or something car related (i love my nerdy boy) and me well hmm I'm not sure I guess I'm a bit of a nerd myself!

Ok since I said I was going to attempt a big fish (the movie) inspiration board, here it is. The movie is pretty complex (it is by tim burton), but non the less a terrific movie. When I think of the movie I think of vaudeville, daffodils, popcorn, lights, and the 1930s or 40s (I think). Forgive me, for this is really sloppy and my second one. I'll work on more later...

ok so i know i said i would make a big fish inspiration board as my first one, but i did this one real quick because my sister in law couldn't imagine these colors together for some reason. voila! i know, its very amateur and nowhere near the awesomeness as other inspiration boards. its somewhat alice right, i'll work on more a little later.

and quite frankly i'm not 100% set on my colors. but these sound good : teal, tiffany blue, pale pink, fuschia(possibly)/hot pink, and antique gold... i could throw brown in there too, i'd feel bad for making it too femanine for my fiancee. oh well i don't even think he cares about colors to be honest.

sorry i saved these pictures a long time ago and it would make me crazy to try and find credits for them, but i do not own them what so ever!

RAINBOOTS and umbrellas! I am soooo doing this, engagement pictures or wedding. Its been raining here in Virginia for about 6 days in a row now...all day (I feel like I live in Forks-town from Twilight, you might be able to tell i'm an addict). And I have midterms all week, which isn't fun. I kind of miss the sun, but heres a few pictures that make me love the rain=)

So I've been seeing a lot of brides wear bright shoes lately. Its refreshing to see something different ,fun and something that shows off a bit of the brides personality. I'm thinking I'll do some kind of pink ,yellow or teal, but who knows?

dream wedding spot=france. i even took french for 5 years, but i would probably only be able to tell you my name and ask you how you are hah! destination wedding=super expensive. i could care less about decorations/flowers/dresses/etc, all would be irrelevant because no flowers/decor/dresses could ever top such a beautiful setting!!
