Garden Reverie

A little peek on my project, annickstasias.

This 'Garden Reverie' still a lot more details to add more

but its getting there. I can't wait to finish it so I can move on to another one.

I still have another 4 pieces to complete the collection.

My days are pretty occupied but I love getting busy.

But there are times that it became overbearing.

Fortunately I have my furry kids to ease my stress out.

I also cook when I'm having artist block.

It's nice to do something else just to distract myself.

Something simple for a quick fix; toast bread with scramble egg + spaghetti sauce.

Homemade samosa, recipe from my husband :)

Beef curry + pharata, also a recipe from Mr Hubby.

I would like to try new recipe. Though I prefer to eat simple food, but I'd like to challenge myself in kitchen once in a while :)

Post Designer's Weekend Solo Exhibition & Femme Fatale Conference

Last week I had a 3 days Solo Exhibition at the Designer's Weekend and
was invited to be one of the speakers for the Femme Fatale Conference.

My illustrations & abstract paintings.

On the stage with Miss Naho from Japan, taking questions from the floor.

Together with the other speakers for the "Gossip Girls" session.

It was a great event. I was freaking nervous on the stage.

Though I have been in a design show on the TV before

but this time it was very different. I have never done public speaking

for a very long time. I enjoyed the presentation from other speakers too

and I have learnt a lot from them.

I'm looking forward for another event like this in near future :)

Melancholy Series, 2012

I've been working on this series for about 2 months, juggling between some commission work and other design stuff.
Finally these pieces are ready to send for framing for Barcelona Showcase.

I'm also working on designing my accessory line and hopefully everything
will go well as scheduled and get ready with it for upcoming design showcase.

New painting I'm working on...

I stopped and stared to see the flow of the colours,

to create a movement from where it starts

and to which point it will end.

Combination of different hues of yellows,

portrait pink, light pink, a mixture of light violet and silver, gold and black...

Shopping bag design for Tamaki Boutique I did in March.

Received an email from the client today saying that they received positive feedbacks from their customers and they love the design! Woot! woot! I'll receive a sample soon and will update here.

Besides that I was offered a space in Artis Kids Store at Paradigm Mall to set up

an installation and display my Fashion-na-nimal Darlings paper dolls and illustrations and they are for sale.

Here's how my working table looked like last week.

2 weeks of sleepless nights + too much coffee..

Packaging, tagging, thank you cards and

Yup, a little bit more till she's done and

I could touch up with the detailing.

Lots of things have been playing on my mind;

work, the cats, packing the stuffs, exhibition and many more.

I got nervous just having a thought at each one of them and I can't stay put.

Hello guys.

How's life treating you? I find time has gone so fast I'm out of breath to catch up with my work loads.

But I'm thankful and feel much blessed :).
So I'm trying to grab the opportunities as many as possible while I have the time.
I have a big plan in front of me so I'm spending much time working on my new illustration series.

These are how the progress so far. I'm working on a few other sketches to add on also.

While I was working on this, I got a request from a local cake designer from Unicorns & Vanilla to design her new logo based on her much fond on unicorns. Do check out her cakes design on their Facebook and blog. They also offer custom event service and parties.
