The Jackson Sisters (not to be confused with Jackson sisters, La Toya, Janet, and Rebbie who were the siblings to American soul group the Jackson Five) were an American soul and disco family group in the 1970s. The group hailed from Compton, California but were based in Detroit, Michigan.
The Jackson Sisters were Jacqueline Jackson-Rencher, Lyn Jackson, Pat Jackson, Rae Jackson and Gennie Jackson. They recorded material for the Tiger Lily Records label, obtaining some modest success in the 1970s. However the group really came into their own nearly a decade later, following the emergence of the rare groove scene in the UK. Many of their songs were written by Johnny Bristol. Bobby Taylor, produced and co-wrote their rare groove anthem, "I Believe In Miracles", in 1976. The track reached #72 in the UK Singles Chart in June 1987.

Instant Funk came out of New Jersey consisting of Raymond Earl, Scotty Miller and guitarist Kim Miller. The group was then called The Music Machine and they were very successful as a back-up band for The Manhattans, Bunny Sigler and also the TNJs. Throughout their careers, Instant Funk would be the back-up band for many stars, including Lou Rawls, Loleatta Holloway, The O'Jays, MFSB, Curtis Mayfield and Evelyn Champagne King (they are the backing band on the hit single, "Shame").

Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track was the album that contains the soundtrack of the film Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta. The album was released December 10, 1977, to launch the film, which was released a week later. Immediately climbed to the top of U.S. chart.
Although the album is often credited to the Bee Gees, who are in fact the authors of the most significant songs of the album, in fact it is a compilation of various artists. The album won a Grammy Award and the U.S. reached an incredible recognition of fifteen times platinum. The success was achieved in the world, where the disc is still the 4th best selling of all time, with more than 41 million copies sold. The songs and Calypso Breakdown Jive Talkin, the album, were not included in the film.

Starsky and Hutch (usually written as Starsky & Hutch) is a 1970s US television series that consisted of a 90-minute pilot movie (originally aired as a Movie of the Week entry) and 92 episodes of 60 minutes each; created by William Blinn, produced by Spelling-Goldberg Productions, and broadcast between April 30, 1975 and May 15, 1979 on the ABC network; distributed by Columbia Pictures Television in the United States and, originally, Metromedia Producers Corporation in Canada and some other parts of the world. Sony Pictures Television is now the worldwide distributor for the series.

The first season of the show had a dark and ominous theme written by Lalo Schifrin that seemed to fit the hard action and violence of the season; the main title version was edited down from the chase climax cue of his score for the pilot episode. The end credits featured a similar piece of ominous music.

Curtis Lee Mayfield (June 3, 1942 – December 26, 1999) was an American soul, rhythm and blues, and funk singer, songwriter, and record producer best known for his anthemic music with The Impressions and composing the soundtrack to the blaxploitation film Super Fly. From these works and others, he is highly regarded as a pioneer of funk and of politically conscious African-American music.He was also a multi-instrumentalist who played the guitar, bass, piano, saxophone, and drums.

Sweet Exorcist is a 1974 album by Curtis Mayfield.
The album was recorded at Curtom Studios, acquired by Curtis Mayfield's Curtom record label from RCA, in Chicago by R. Anfinsen and J. Janus.
In 2001, The song "Kung Fu" was covered by The Dirtbombs on their album Ultraglide in Black.
