These things can touch anyone, and no one is outside their reach. Sometimes it may seem easier for the cheerless to just give up. - suicide depression

Why do people become depressed? How many people are touched by suicide and depression in the U. S? Does it only affect certain people? No, it does not. It could be anyone.

Depression occurs when there is a hormonal imbalance in the brain. It could have a variety of factors involved such as losing a family member or stress at work. It also has been associated as a self mutilating cause of death.

Suicide is a major issue and was number eleven for the leading causes of death in the U. S. In 2006. Many things increase the risk of suicide but depression beats them all in the charts with 90% of suicide related deaths being coupled with depression.

The amount of persons who are disheartened and pass on from suicide is a significant figure. Females are much less likely than males to succeed in suicide due to the methods most commonly used between the two. The younger group has had their rate of suicides rising for years. More and more people are diagnosed with depression every day. The rate at which it is being recorded has increased substantially.

If you know someone struggling with misfortune and grief, comfort them. If they become suicidal you should convince them to see a doctor. Don't hesitate to talk to them about it.

There is truly something that binds the two mutually. Depression is an entrance into suicide. Many people do not kill themselves though and seek help instead or try and fail. Regardless of race, gender, or anything else despair could occur. Suicide may come about as well.
A sufferer can easily be overwhelmed by the emotions of anxiety and depression, as it often develops into a cycle and turn these seemingly inoffensive negative emotions into a diagnosed psychological disorder. Having the feeling of anxiousness for nearly every single minute of one's life can turn into a depressive state. Most especially if the patient has constant anxiety over concerns that can easily be dealt with. And once a sufferer 's mind enters the depressive state, the patient then develops a vulnerable emotional state which then turns into yet again an anxiety attack. To know more on how anxiety attacking depression can affect you, here is a short article that might be able to help you.

Anxiety and depression are both emotional phases that everyone has experienced at least on one occasion in their lives. We all know how it feels to be miserable or restless, and we are usually able to cope with these small emotional episodes by facing the problems that has instigated us to have such negative feelings in the first place. However for patients who do not know how to deal with these feelings properly, the effects of both emotions can be dangerous on one's emotional well being. A normal cheerful person can be turned into somebody who has lost interest in living, one time he is overwhelmed by anxiety attacking depression. Physically, negative emotions can as well manifest itself through recurring headaches, a fatigued and lethargic disposition or even worse, suicide.

Given that anxiety and depression are directly linked to each other, it's common for people suffering with this condition to have both at the same time, although one would likely have a lesser degree than the other. People with anxiety attacking depression have the tendency to experience panic attacks on a more frequent basis. If the trigger that causes an attack can be isolated to one or two significant events in one's life then panic attacks may possibly be not dangerous to some level. Like having to speak openly impromptu or not being ready for an essential examination. A panic attack can cause havoc on one's emotional state and physical well being if it gets out of control. Some people who have experienced severe panic attacks usually complain of having insufferable symptoms like irregular heartbeat, out of control sweating and severe tremors on limbs, all of which can be mistaken as signs of a heart attack.

Dealing on a daily basis with anxiety and depression can deter a sufferer from living a normal and full life. Even though individual episodes of both feelings are only part of the emotional rollercoaster that everyone has to experience in life, it must be taken seriously as soon as the episodes become recurrent and more serious in nature. Don't think two times in seeking medical help if you feel that your anxiety attacking depression is getting worse. You have the capacity to take control of your emotions and effectively win the battle against negative emotions.
On the one hand, a patient may be grateful to still be alive, but he may also feel frightened and anxious about the future. Will he be able to go back to his former lifestyle? Will he have another heart attack? He may also feel angry and upset about the unfairness of it all.

•Feelings of sadness and anger are natural after a catastrophic illness like a heart attack. Survivors need to go through the grieving process, which involves a certain amount of unhappiness. But when those feelings linger and start affecting a patient's recovery, it's cause for concern. As many as one out of three heart attack survivors report feeling depressed.
•Depression can sap a person's will to recover and make him less likely to follow his doctor's recommendations.
•Heart patients with depression are less likely to eat a heart-healthy diet, give up smoking, or exercise regularly.
•Worse yet, depressed heart patients have a greater risk of suffering future heart attacks.

The good news is that depression can be treated. With the appropriate care, a patient will lead a happier life -- and life will be easier for you, too. Here are some practical things you can do if you think a patient is depressed after a heart attack:

If you believe he's depressed, the first step is to talk to him about his feelings. This isn't always easy, especially if he isn't used to expressing emotions. Ask him if he's feeling sad or hopeless. Try to get an idea if it's really depression or just a temporary case of the blues.

The next step is to schedule an evaluation. His primary care physician may want to talk to him first, or she may refer him to a psychiatrist or counselor. In any case, the evaluating doctor will talk to him and assess his mood. She may also order screening tests to rule out other medical conditions that can mimic depression, such as a thyroid disorder or infection.

If he's resistant to the idea of testing because he's embarrassed or afraid, help him understand that a diagnosis of depression isn't the shameful secret it once was. It doesn't mean he's "crazy" or is going to be taken away to a nursing home. What's more, his test results are private, so no one but he and his doctor needs to know.

If he absolutely refuses to see a doctor, there's not a whole lot you can do. You can't force the issue unless he's psychotic or suicidal, or his depression has progressed to the point where he can no longer take care of himself. If none of those circumstances apply, your best bet is to enlist family members and friends to try to persuade him to seek help.

Simply supporting someone as he struggles with depression can help him a great deal. Here are some other things you can do:

•Help him stay as physically active as possible. Talk to the doctor and rehabilitation team about what exercises are appropriate. Find activities you can do together, such as a morning walk around the neighborhood. Exposure to sunlight can help break the cycle of sleeping during the day that many depressed people fall into.
•Structure the day around activities that give him pleasure and a sense of purpose. For example, meet friends for lunch or enjoy a leisurely walk through the mall.
•Try to stay positive and upbeat, but don't foster unrealistic expectations. Instead of saying, "You'll be running a 10K next month," you might say, "The more we walk together, the easier it'll be."
•Join a support group -- for either or both of you. Talking to other people who're struggling with similar issues can be enormously comforting and helpful. It's also a great way to connect with other heart attack survivors and caregivers.

In the end, it's really the patient's responsibility to get help for depression. If he won't talk to his doctor or comply with treatment, you can't make him -- and you shouldn't blame yourself. Keep offering support and provide positive reinforcement when he takes those difficult steps toward recovery.

But there's only so much you can do. If feelings of guilt and sadness overwhelm you, you may need help coming to terms with the fact that the person you're caring for isn't going to get help. Ask his doctor for information about support groups and other resources to help you manage your own feelings.
But if someone has recently had a stroke, you're probably well aware that the effects go well beyond the physical. The emotional aftermath can be just as overwhelming and far more difficult to sort out.

Although depression can strike anyone, those who've suffered a catastrophic illness may be more susceptible than other people. And when you throw a brain injury into the mix, the risk of developing a mood disorder becomes even greater. As many as half of stroke survivors will become depressed, according to James Castle, a neurologist at Stanford University.

Depression isn't just miserable, it may also make a stoke survivor more susceptible to pain and fatigue and may even delay his recovery.

•In a study published in the journal Stroke, researchers reported that stroke survivors who were treated for depression demonstrated improved recovery in regular daily activities compared with those whose depression went untreated.
•People who are depressed also tend to be less compliant with rehabilitation and more resistant to making lifestyle changes to prevent a second stroke.

Fortunately, depression can be treated. With the appropriate care, a patient will lead a happier life -- and life will be easier for you, too. Here are some practical things you can do if you think the person you're caring for is depressed after a stroke.

It's not always easy to recognize depression. In the case of someone who's had a stroke, the situation can be even more complicated. If a patient has trouble talking or understanding language, it might be especially difficult to recognize depression. Increased emotional liability -- sudden and extreme mood swings, common after a stroke -- may also hide symptoms of depression.

You may also think he has good reason to feel depressed. After all, he's just had a stroke and can't do the things he used to be able to do. But there's a difference between the normal grieving process and depression. The warning signs of depression include:

•Frequent crying episodes
•Feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness
•Poor appetite or increased appetite
•Sleeping too much or not enough
•Increased agitation and restlessness
•Loss of interest in life
•Expressing thoughts of dying or suicide

A stroke survivor should be evaluated for depression if he has had several of these symptoms for more than two weeks.

If you believe a patient is depressed, the first step is to talk to him about his feelings.

If he resists the idea of testing because he's embarrassed or afraid, help him understand that a diagnosis of depression isn't the shameful secret it once may have been. It doesn't mean he's "crazy" or is going to be taken away to a nursing home. And his test results are private, so no one but he and his doctor needs to know.

If he absolutely refuses to see a doctor, there's not a whole lot you can do. "There's no way to force the issue unless there are severe circumstances," says Castle. If he has become psychotic or suicidal, or if his depression has progressed to the point where he can no longer care for himself, Castle recommends that you notify his doctor or emergency medical services immediately. Otherwise, your best bet is to enlist family members and friends to try to persuade him to seek help.

If a patient is diagnosed with depression, the doctor may prescribe antidepressant medications and/or recommend psychotherapy. "Most doctors take a multidirected approach toward battling depression," says Castle. "Medicines can be highly effective, but often there's a role for psychotherapy and lifestyle changes."

Even if a primary care doctor diagnosed depression, a patient may still benefit from seeing a mental health professional, says Castle. "Some primary care physicians feel comfortable treating this disorder, but many would prefer the assistance of a psychiatrist or psychologist." Castle says this can be difficult for people who associate a stigma with mental health treatment. "It's important for the family to support the patient over that barrier."

The person in your care may also be nervous about taking antidepressants, but Castle points out that they present very little risk: "If anything, there's some evidence to suggest that these medicines might actually decrease the chance of having another stroke." Some of the common side effects, such as loss of libido or excessive sweating, can be annoying, but they're nothing compared to the misery of depression. And the doctor can work with the patient to find the most effective medication with the fewest side effects.

Simply supporting the patient as he struggles with depression can help him a great deal. Here are some other things you can do:

•Help him stay as physically active as possible. Talk to the doctor and rehabilitation team about what exercises are appropriate. Find activities you can do together, such as a morning walk around the neighborhood.
•Depressed people often want to sleep during the day. "As much as possible, don't allow a patient to slip into a depressed routine," says Castle. "Break the cycle by encouraging him to be awake during the day with exposure to sunlight." A simple walk outdoors or some time in the garden can really help.
•Structure the day around activities that give him pleasure and a sense of purpose. For example, meet friends for lunch or enjoy a leisurely walk through the mall.
•Try to stay positive and upbeat, but don't foster unrealistic expectations. Instead of saying, "You'll be hiking again in no time," you might say, "If we keep walking together every day, you'll notice that it gets a lot easier."
•Join a support group -- for either or both of you. Talking to other people who're struggling with similar issues can be enormously comforting and helpful. It's also a great way to connect with other stroke survivors and caregivers. Remember that it's not all up to you

In the end, it's really up to the stroke survivor to get help for depression. If he won't talk to his doctor or comply with treatment, you can't make him -- and you shouldn't blame yourself. Keep offering support and provide positive reinforcement when he takes those difficult steps toward recovery.

But there's only so much you can do. If feelings of guilt and sadness overwhelm you, you may need help coming to terms with the fact that he isn't going to get help. Ask his doctor for information about support groups and other resources to help you manage your own feelings.
Over the years, research and studies have proved that the brain can undergo a substantial amount of training to do some of the job the damaged and impaired areas cannot perform. Compensating for the loss of certain areas makes this characteristic of the brain beneficial to patients who have been stricken with stroke or suffer from acute depression.

Some years ago a therapist in gerontology was amazed to see the remarkable way the brain could rewire itself. After many sessions of therapy, a stroke victim, despite his age could lift her paralyzed arm to gently hit a balloon. She was chronically paralyzed, but the other areas of her brain managed to take off from the non-functional areas after they ceased them operating.

In the event of newer challenges and obstacles, the brain is equipped to change and adapt the neural structure if enough stimulation is provided. It helps stroke patients and those stricken with long bouts of depression to even pick up new skills. Therapy works wonders for their impaired condition.

Both the authors, the Time's science editor and Jeffrey Schwatrz, professor at the UCLA School of Medicine, have mentioned in their book about the power of neuroplasticity and that our brain activity is not set in stone. Their book was based on a study of patients stricken with obsessive compulsive disorders and how their brains were amenable to changes and the shifting of gears for newer activities that are acceptable socially.

The brain's neural circuit can undergo changes in victims of stroke and depression and make them perform activities that were near impossible during the early stages of obsessive compulsive disorders. Studies have proved that given a new task to perform, neural circuitry doesn't fail in its job after sessions of behavioral therapy that effect the required chemical changes.

Studies by scientists have proved that medication does not succeed in ultimately reviving or getting the brain to act in cases of stoke and depression. Drugs and anti-depressants usually prescribed by psychiatrists are not a one-size-fit-all type. It is hotly debated whether they fit at all as most doctors change the medicine as soon as it stops providing relief. Either they change or combine the drugs as is the norm of the American Psychiatric Association. Recent findings have also shown that drugs don't work on 30% of the population. If it worked, then the number of suicide deaths of teenagers on medication wouldn't be taking place.

Compared to drugs and medication, cognitive therapy, based on behavioral patterns, is a far better option. Nowadays, therapy is fast becoming an ideal anti-depressant rather than drugs. Switching of the brain is regarded as a new method for treating people with stroke and depression. Repeating certain mental exercises over and over again can make the neurons switch their activity from the emotional to the thinking area of the brain.
We are not talking about using natural treatments just because you are afraid of what man-made products will do to your body. What we are talking about is using them because they provide better results than everything else.

Depression is a serious illness that interferes with a person's life. A lot of times, when people say they are depressed, we may not think anything of it because "I am just depressed" is a term that is thrown around all too often. But when a person is allegedly depressed, there is no denying it. You may notice that they have either gained or lost weight, stay inside all of the time, quit their job or perform poorly at work, mope around all of the time, and/or always look like they have been crying.

Some people who are depressed are more apt to abuse illegal substances because of their illness to help them cope with the despair and hopelessness they are experiencing. Man-made substances do not make it any better because they do not work. Natural treatments for depression are what work.

Someone using a prescription medication for depression may become discouraged and resort toward other chemical substances, which is why it is best to stay away from chemicals completely. Many people are often surprised at the lack of side effects (if any) that they experience with natural treatments for depression. Since natural treatments work in the same manner as man-made treatments, there is really no point in resorting to chemical drugs.

So yes, there is a natural cure for depression. And yes - we said "cure". Knowing that piece of information may leave you feeling speechless and puzzled because a "cure" is not something you would have ever experienced with prescription drugs. If you treat your symptoms properly and naturally, you will not suffer anymore.

Using a natural herb like St. John's Wort can help with feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and can even prevent feelings of worthlessness and thoughts of suicide. Depending on how bad your symptoms are, you may require more than one natural treatment. Unlike man-made medications, there is no risk of more side effects when combining the proper remedies.

Someone who has anxiety along with their depression may need to take both St. John's Wort and Passion Flower to help promote feelings of euphoria and calmness. Another way that natural treatments for depression are different from man-made medications is that you don't have to wait six to eight weeks to see results. All you have to do is use the natural remedy and almost immediately, you are going to experience a lift in mood.

No matter how bad your depression symptoms may be, there is a treatment that can help you. So many people are taking drastic measures to treat their depression when they really aren't necessary. Everything we need has already been supplied to us. Aren't you glad to know that there is a natural cure for depression?
But for some people, this unhappy, gloomy state becomes a way of life. Typically, those suffering from depression have turned to prescription medication to help them through the rough patches. Unfortunately, anti-depressants often carry the risk of serious side effects. However, there is an incredibly safe and natural alternative that can help you cope. When you learn about yoga breathing and exercises, you can begin to lift the dark cloud that shadows your sense of joy.

Long before Big Pharma came along, people would learn about yoga breathing and poses to calm and soothe you mentally and physically. Actually, yoga has a long and abiding history - the early forms have been around for thousands of years.

Yoga Is Much More Than Exercising

When you hear the word "yoga", the images that come to mind are typically the physical exercises, or asanas. But yoga is so much more.

It's actually a philosophy that addresses the body, mind, and spirit. These asanas were designed to ready one for extended periods of meditation. But in order to experience spiritual awakening, the body and mind must be physically fit. Disease or depression hinders awareness.

This is remedied through yoga asanas. The result is a powerfully effective form of exercise that calms the mind while releasing emotional turmoil and worry.

Learn About Yoga Breathing To Lift Your Spirits And Soothe Your Soul

The fact is every doctor will tell you that any form of physical exercise helps with depression. But this is especially true with yoga. Unlike other exercises, yoga was specifically developed to bring about a peaceful, serene state of mind. Yoga increase the brain chemicals that are responsible for relaying information between brain cells, which has been know to ease depression symptoms.

Right now you may be wondering exactly how yoga affects your mental well-being. Here is a brief explanation. The yoga asanas work the organs of your body much as a massage works your muscles. But instead of manipulating muscles, yoga's massaging motion manipulates blood flow. As a result, toxins are removed from essential organs.

Not only that, the asanas incites brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) and hormones, which negate worry and unhappy thoughts. When you learn about yoga and become engaged in its practice, the life force energy, or "prana" moves throughout your body rejuvenating your spirit.

According to yoga experts, this life force is crucial to emotional, physical, and spiritual health. That's why the life force should be nurtured. Through yoga, chakras and nadis - the body's energy centers and channels - are revived. The renewed prana releases emotional scars, which only serve to block the chakras and nadis.

The result is serenity and peace - quite the opposite of worry and depression. When you learn about yoga breathing, or pranayama, you can decrease anxiety as each breath delivers fresh prana to energize you both physically and emotionally.

You owe it to yourself - and your loved ones - to learn about yoga breathing for help with depression, or for the many other health benefits, such as coping with insomnia, help get control of your weight, and even help beat diabetes. Mental well-being is just as important as physical well-being, and "breathing" is essential to keep both of them aligned.
Depression is normally a temporary reaction towards situations of stress. Depression is a normal part of the maturation process of adolescents. It is even induced due to production of sex hormones. Adolescent females are depressed twice more than adolescent boys according to a study.

Adolescent behavior is normally marked with good and bad moods. The transition from a good mood to bad mood and vice-versa, can take minutes, hours and even days. That is the reason why true depression is very difficult to find out. Depression in adolescents can be caused due to bad school performance, break up with boyfriend or girlfriend, and failing relations with friends and family. These causes can lead to persistent depression. Other serious causes are chronic illness, obesity, child abuse, stressful lifestyle, poor social skills, unstable care giving and depression in family history.

Symptoms of depression in adolescents are eating disorders, weight change, irritable mood, excessive sleeping in daytime, excessive temper, criminal behavior, memory loss, fatigue, self preoccupation, sadness, difficulty in concentrating, worthlessness feelings, loss of interest, self hatred, obsession with death and thought & attempts of suicides. When these symptoms are being noticed for more than two weeks, it is important to get treatment for the adolescent. Depression not only affects interpersonal relationships, but school performance as well. Depressed adolescents are more prone to take onto drugs and alcohol as an attempt to overcome their depression. Such problems require intensive treatment.

The doctor will take blood test and perform physical examination to determine the cause of depression. The adolescent can also be tested for substance abuse such as smoking, heavy alcohol consumption, marijuana smoking, and usage of other drugs. After the physical examination, psychiatric evaluation is also done to understand the cause of sadness, loss of interest and irritability. Depression can also lead to the development of other psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, mania and anxiety. It is also important to determine whether the adolescent poses a risk for himself/herself and others. Family and school personnel can provide valuable information about the adolescent to the doctor.

Treatment for depression for adolescent is similar to the treatment of depression for adults. Along with the treatment, the adolescent are given antidepressant medication and psychotherapy. Antidepressant medications include tricyclics, Prozac, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRI. Some of the medicines increase the risk, so it is a good idea that parents discuss the possible risks with the doctor. Only some of the antidepressant medications are meant for children and adolescents. Adolescents with severe depression need to be hospitalized as they are more prone to kill themselves.

Family and school support is necessary to tackle the depression of the adolescent. Parents can get their children admitted in emotional growth schools, boot camps or wilderness programs, to solve the behavioral problems. These programs consist of non medical staff and confrontational therapies. But care must be taken as some of the programs can in turn harm children who are depressed and sensitive. Adolescents, who get caught due to criminal offense, should be taken special care of by their parents. It is best that the child face the consequences and learn a lesson from it. Depressed adolescents respond well to treatment if they are treated comprehensively and early. More than half of the adults are known to have depression when they were in their teens.

Reduced to its simplest form, what is worry? It is simply an unhealthy and destructive mental habit that- believe it or not folks-you were not born with but simply acquired out of practice. The good news is, with aggressive actions, as with any habit and acquired attitude; we can be worry free and eliminate it from our lives successfully.

In the words of Dr. Smiley Blanton, a noted Psychiatrist: ìAnxiety depression is the great modern plague.î Other psychologists go on to say ëworryí a noted symptom of any form of depression, is the most subtle and destructive of all human diseases. When we worry excessively, we disintegrate our inner workings as humans and really put a lot of things out of order. Needless to say avoiding worry as a step of treating depression and anxiety will be the first step for our own benefit.

Anxiety Depression: Steps to take to be Worry Free:

The following steps should be used to deal with anxiety depression and its main symptom, worry. When used wisely and effectively, you will inevitably be successful at these natural depression help techniques.

1. Practice Mind-drainage: Empty your mind of pessimistic and negative thoughts, especially before going to and after waking up from sleep. This involves some degree of imagination friends. (the same imagination-mind you-that you are actually using to aggravate your present situationsÖdidnít realize that eh?). This mind-draining strategy cannot be overemphasized as I will let you know, if you fear something for a long period of time, it may actually come to pass. ìFor the thing which I feared has come upon meÖî (Job 3:25)

2. Fill up the mind with powerful thoughts of faith and success to fill up the vacuum now left in the mind. You become a worrier by practicing it, you can be worry-free by practicing the opposite.

3. Say positive things about those things you previously spoke negatively of.

4. Never participate in a worry conversation. Induce your conversation with faith and worry-free statements.

5. Make friends with optimistic people, practice prayer and meditation.

6. Exercise and eat right. Youíll be making yourself look and feel better and consequently stronger through the process for overcoming depression, anxiety and becoming worry free.

No one is saying things will be automatically changed overnight. No, it takes work. However with direct and equally aggressive actions as the destructive worry habits one may be indulging in, anxiety depression can be overcome and you too can be worry free if you believe in your mind you can.

You have everything inside you that you need to overcome your panic attack and the related anxiety. The problem is, often we don't realize that we have the tools let along being in control to implement that which we need to control the anxiety and panic attack. Why? because we feel so out of control at the time. But the tools are there, you just have to develop the internal skills to use them effectively and we will talk about this latter in this article.

Let's first look at the barriers we put up that are preventing us from becoming healthy and getting rid of or control anxiety panic attacks and stress. What is it that we do that causes the panic attack? What is it that causes the anxiety, what is it that causes the stress. For lets face it if we delete the stress, we control the anxiety which stops the panic attacks.

All very neat but a long way from reality, isn't it? Why? Because we need a degree of stress in our lives, we use stress to invigorate our actions and improve our personal health. Excess stress however leads us to excessively smoke, drink or eat. Physical activity drops and a feeling of a general loss of esteem develops as we start to feel bad about ourselves. So balance is the key if we are to stop panic attacks and avoid long term reliance on panic attack medications.

We talked about barriers that cause anxiety and panic attacks. So what are these barriers we build that develop into the grounds for a panic attack. We will look at the three key primary issues that most problems can be brought back to

The first is obsessive negativity.

When you are obsessively negative, it means that you have a tendency toward being "negative" about people, places, situations, and things in your life.

Secondly you have obsessive perfectionism.

When you engage in obsessive perfectionism, you are centered on trying to do everything "just so" to the point of driving yourself into an anxious state of being. You may find yourself making statements such as, "I have to do this right, or I'll be a failure!" or "If I am not precise, people will let down or maybe be mad at me!"

Finally there is obsessive analysis.

When you are obsessed about analyzing things, you find yourself wanting to re-hash a task or an issue over and over again. I must have forgotten something!" or "If I let things go/don't do them my self, things will go wrong!"

All sound familiar to you don't they and the reason why is because we all do them, time and time again. However some people just get obsessed about a certain point and then over analyze the issue beyond all reasonable levels. They build doubts that lead to fear that traps them in a spiral, leading ever down words taking there self worth, their ability and self esteem with it. This results in the development of anxiety and potential panic attacks

Some people are more susceptible than others to stress; for some, even ordinary daily decisions seem insurmountable. Deciding what to have for dinner or what to buy at the store, is a seemingly, monumental dilemma for them. On the other hand, there are those people, who seem to thrive under stress by becoming highly productive being driven by the force of pressure.

What are the symptoms of a Panic attack. There are quite a lot of issues that lead to panic attacks as each individual reacts in a different manner under the same conditions. Many may react in a different manner, under the same set of circumstances, should they be exposed to it again. Let's look at the key points that cause the reactions within our body to stress, anxiety and panic attacks

Stress is the way our body and our mind react to something, which upsets our normal balance in life. During stressful events our adrenal glands release adrenaline, a hormone which activates our body's defense mechanisms causing our hearts to pound, blood pressure to rise, muscles to tense, and the pupils of our eyes to dilate.

The principal indicator of stress are as follows;

An escalation in your pulse rate; (however, a normal pulse rate doesn't necessarily mean you aren't stressed).

Constant aches and pains,

Palpitations,

Anxiety,

Chronic fatigue,

Crying with out reason or over small issues,

Over or under- eating,

Frequent infections,

Decrease in your sexual desire

These are sure signs you may notice, which indicate you may be under stress and indirectly heading for a possible panic attack. Of course, every time we are under stress, we do not react the same as we may not be under as much duress or fear the next time we are confronted with a stressful situation.

Anxiety, on the other hand, is a feeling of unease within the body usually reflected in a queeze stomach, muscle aches and pains and a lightness in limbs. It is normal to feel anxious when facing something difficult or dangerous and mild anxiety can be a positive and useful experience. Its as we pointed out earlier when we stated a degree of stress and anxiety is good as it improves our performance.

However, for many people, anxiety interferes with normal life. Excessive anxiety is often associated with other psychiatric conditions, such as depression. Anxiety is considered harmful when it is very prolonged or severe. It often appears during a stressful event and continues on after the stressful event. If it is interfering with everyday activities such as going to work or family life it is very important that the suffer of anxiety seeks medical assistance in dealing with the issue.

Unlike stress and panic attacks the physical symptoms of anxiety are caused by the brain sending messages to parts of the body to prepare for the "fight or flight" response. The heart, lungs and other parts of the body work faster. The brain also releases stress hormones. Untreated anxiety is as bad as stress as it will lead into a full blown Panic attack. Such attacks can be totally debilitating and lead to complete breakdowns as previously outlined.

Understanding you stress levels and how you respond under pressure are important to your ongoing health. With this understanding you can make the right choices in the type of work you undertake or the positions you accept in regards to the stress them will apply on you.

Finally anxiety and panic attack medications are now widely available and can be prescribed through your local medical practitioner. As part of the treatment the doctor may refer clients for mental evaluations. Such evaluation will help the individual identify the issues, suppressed or otherwise, that need to be overcome if a full recovery is to be achieved.
Set Yourself Free

So you got dumped from your relationship. What are you going to do now?. Can you control emotions? Don't get sucked into the hole of depression and rejection. Immediately after your break up you must take control of your emotions and set yourself free from the trauma of getting dumped.

Accept the Fact That You Got Dumped

Ok your single again and you really liked the person that let you go. You need to understand he/she dumped so all of a sudden you are single. Make the best out of this time. Don't let the fact that your partner dumped you bring you down. Yes,the emotions are at the high point now so take advantage of them by seeing them in a different light. See yourself as being free because you are no longer held down by your ex partner. It is so important that you complete this step as soon as possible. I cannot stress the importance of this first step.

Bring Yourself Out of That "Hole"

The first initial week after you got dumped is a "storm drain", your full of deep emotions. Anger, confusion, depression, loneliness, etc. You have to get yourself out of this pit of fury before it starts prolonging. Think about the benefits of getting dumped. Was my partner really the right one for me? Ask yourself that. I'm grateful that I am single again, there are plenty of fish in the sea and I am the great white shark. Let that remark seep inside your mind. Fight the feelings of anger and loneliness as much as you can to to rescue yourself from that "dumped" hole.

Start Getting Active

Once you have truly accepted the fact that your no longer in a relationship you shouldn't feel saddened or bogged down anymore. However,if those rejection feelings still linger inside you it's a sign that you still haven't gotten over your ex. Remember, you are single again which means you should be out there enjoying your life without feeling abandoned by your past partner. Go out and enjoy yourself. Treat yourself to activities that you weren't able to do when you were in a relationship. Please keep in mind that you are single again!

Your Mindset

Dig around you mind a little bit. What's coming out of it? At this point you should be in what I like to call "marine mode". Marine mode is when you have completely forgotten about your ex and your on the hunt for a new partner. If your still tied down by thought of your ex dumping you this one might be a little difficult. You should be on the prowl for a new partner by now. There are no thoughts at all of your ex and your almost free.

It's Prime Time

You're almost there. I want to point out that throughout this whole process you need to keep socializing everyday. Do not got to places where you and your ex spent time at. We are trying to free you from those thoughts remember. So now your going out everyday maybe mingling with potentially new partners. Great, this is what you need to be doing. The faster you meet new people the better

Psychological Disorders are extremely common in human beings. Whilst brief experiences of Depression or Anger are tolerable, longer lasting experiences begin to bog an individual down. Longer lasting symptoms occur due to the inability of the individual to correctly identify the "cause" or "source" of the problem. Moving beyond or transcending the state then is not possible for the person, despite their best efforts. Consequently, the individual experiences even worse symptoms than the initial onset of discomfort.

The access then is to gain an understanding and awareness of ALL the contributing factors that have an individual experience the discomfort. For even with limited understanding, it will not be possible to transcend the state for the individual.

A common problem in people is that they may know that they do not want to experience life the way they are currently experiencing it, but this alone makes no difference. The difference lies in one's ability to raise their state of awareness and understanding to what motivates them in life, and to enquire rationally into these motives.

This requires taking into account then a broad approach to being human. When this occurs, one may then begin to understand themselves not only from a psychological perspective, but also from anthropological, sociological, ontological, and historical perspectives. This enables an individual to make choices that enhance and enrich the quality of their lives, as opposed to reducing their quality of life.
Sufferers of chronic pain have to deal with it constantly and get little or no permanent relief from pain medication or other forms of treatment. A main contributor to undiagnosed chronic pain is temporomandibular joint disorder or TMD. Because TMD often is misdiagnosed and untreated, depression may ensue. Chronic pain of TMD tied to depression is a major concern for the neuromuscular dentist trying to diagnose and treat TMD.

Temporomandibular joint disorder is often described as a loose collection of maladies associated with the TMJ, or temporomandibular joint. This joint is one of the most worked joints of the body and a wide variety of symptoms is associated with TMD. * Migraine headaches * Cluster headaches * Facial pain * Jaw pain * Tooth pain * Locked jaw * Tinnitus * And many more

This constant unresolved pain often leads to depression. According to a 2005 study by the University at Buffalo, "persons with chronic temporomandibular disorders, or TMD, are five times more likely to be taking antidepressants than persons who go to the dentist for routine dental care." This is likely because the patient does not seek medical attention from a neuromuscular dentist, but relies on the diagnoses of a general practitioner who simply treats the symptoms.

When pain medication fails to alleviate the pain, the patient often becomes despondent. In many cases, physicians and even family try to convince the sufferer that the pain is psychosomatic, or not really there. The feeling that nobody really cares perpetuates feelings of depression. One of the side effects of many prescription pain medications is depression. All of these factors lead to a cycle of depression that is often difficult to break.

Unlike other physicians, neuromuscular dentists are specially trained to treat TMD. The ultimate goal is to eliminate the source of the pain by bringing the TMJ back into alignment. To do this, the neuromuscular dentist takes careful readings of the electrical impulses of the muscles while in pain and again when the muscles of the jaw are relaxed. Measurements are then made using computerized jaw tracking. Once the ideal alignment is found, various treatments are implemented to correct the problem and alleviate the pain.

Some of the treatments of TMD include one or more of the following:

* Physical therapy * TENS electrical stimulation * Oral appliances * Cosmetic dentistry * Surgery

Once the jaw is brought back into alignment, chronic pain may be greatly reduced or diminished altogether. While this may not necessarily fix all forms of depression, it eliminates a major factor of depression from the equation and allows the patient to focus on other areas, pain free.
Most women when they have a baby expect everything to be perfect. However the reality can sometimes be very different. When you have a demanding baby, sometimes post partum depression can creep up on you before you realize it.

When you have had your baby, sometimes the change in hormone levels can trigger post partum depression. Now Omega 3 fish oils have been proven to help with this condition. Oils that have been molecularly distilled to remove the impurities such as lead, mercury and the PCBs. You need these toxic free oils if you are pregnant or are nursing a baby.

You can of course eat two or more meals of fish per week, however with the pollution that is in our oceans, we can no longer afford to eat so much fish. We need to take a purified pharmaceutical grade fish oil instead. We need to take this purified fish oil on a daily basis to ensure we do not suffer from post partum depression.

They say that about ten per cent of new mothers suffer from some form of depression. An adequate supply of DHA and EPA fatty acids are needed to ensure the new mothers can supply all of the baby's DHA needs. The constant drain on a mothers reserves can lead to a deficiency in DHA fats. This in turn can lead to pregnancy related high blood pressure and post partum depression.

You can do something about this depression apart from taking a regular supplement of Omega 3 fish oils. Get someone to look after the baby, so that you can have some me time. Do not become stuck at home. You are not responsible for your hormone levels, so do not feel guilty about being depressed.

Do not be anxious about every little thing. Do not go about feeling sad. You are not worthless. If you can not sleep or you display any of the symptoms that I have just mentioned, consult your doctor, do not leave it too late.

There's also lots of evidence that depression is more common in heart patients and seems to up the risk of a second cardiovascular event.

No one has yet been able to pin down the reason for the association, but a new study published in the November 26th issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association sought to do just that.

The results of the work suggest that the higher risk of cardiac events might be a result of behaviors that come with depression, especially low activity levels.

After all, when you're feeling down it's hard to motivate yourself, even harder to get up and get active.

It's a vicious circle that can send your health spiraling downward reducing the chances of getting better.

Anyone who is being treated for cardiovascular disease knows how critical being active, within the limits you discuss with your doctor, is to recovering your strength, and your health.

The study, known as the Heart and Soul Study, was a collaborative effort of Dr. Mary A. Whooley of the VA Medical Center in San Francisco California, colleagues from 12 clinics in the Bay area, as well as researchers from Germany and The Netherlands.

The work involved 1,017 patients with stable heart disease, all outpatients in San Francisco area clinics.

The subjects filled out a questionnaire known as the Patient Health Questionnaire to see if they had depressive symptoms - they also answered questions about how active they were in the last month, including sports.

Of all the subjects, 199 had depressive symptoms, 818 did not. The study also found that subjects who were depressed were more likely to engage in dangerous behaviors like smoking, not taking their medications as prescribed and being less active overall.

Of the study participants who had depression, 10% had a cardiac event during the average 4.8 year follow up period. For those who weren't depressed, a lowly 6.7% had a second cardiac event during the study.

Cardiac events include heart failure, heart attack, stroke, transient ischemic attack (a "mini" stroke) or death.

Even after using statistical tools to account for other health issues and the severity of disease, the depressed subjects were still 31% more likely to have another cardiac event.

One of the most important findings of the work was that physical inactivity alone was associated with a 44% greater rate of cardiac events.

Exercise might now become an even more important part of treatment for both depression and heart problems. Certainly this latest research gives you reason to get up... get active.

"These findings raise the hypothesis that the increased risk of cardiovascular events associated with depression could potentially be preventable with behavior modification, especially exercise," the researchers write. "Exercise training can improve both depressive symptoms and markers for cardiovascular risk."

The researchers also point out that it's hard to tell where the independent effect of depression begins and where the effects of cardiac disease end.

So if you're depressed, and you've had a heart attack or other cardiovascular event, this latest research suggests that getting active can lower your risk of repeating that pattern.

Talk with your doctor about your activity level - consider counseling or other treatment to help you get a handle on your depression so that you are able to get more active... perhaps adopt a few other healthier lifestyle habits as well to reduce your heart disease risk.
Lesson learned from "America's got Talent"

If I were to make a top-ten of the hardest words in any language, this word would be my number one pick. It's also one of the shortest. This simple sound has destroyed countless careers; it has propelled people into the depths of depression, and it has broken many hopeful hearts. It is the horrible, ugly word "NO".

"No" is every salesperson's nightmare. "No" has turned rejected lovers into vindictive maniacs. And -as any parent will tell you- "No" can turn the sweetest kid into a manipulative monster. In fact, this two letter word is so destructive; one could make a case for it to be banned from our vocabulary because of the damage it has done over the ages. But I can predict what our linguists would say to that: "No".

REALITY TV

In the United States, the nation is watching another season of "America's got talent". I pity the three judges who have to sit through a never-ending parade of geriatric belly-dancers, tone-deaf Whitney Houston wannabees, drag queen contortionists and hip hoppers with egos bigger than their beefed up physiques. And all of them believe that they're the next big act to hit the Vegas strip, worthy of a million dollars. All I can think of is: who opened this loony bin... and who is going to close it?

Yet, aspiring actors, musicians, sports people and even job seekers have something in common with these strange folks. They too, audition. They might not do it on national TV, but time and again they have to face the final verdict that could shatter their dreams into a million pieces. Or not. You might be trying out for that spot on the team, that seat in the orchestra or you're hoping to nail that job interview. Nobody wants to hear that nasty two-letter word "NO". But what to do if the worst comes true? This is what I learned about rejection dejection.

SETTING YOURSELF UP

The greatest disappointments are always well-planned. Yes, you've heard me: we are setting ourselves up for disaster. Expectation and disillusion are twins. Evil twins. The more we expect, the bigger the disappointment. Watch "America's got talent" for a few minutes, and you'll see the following tragic story unfold: a camera zooms in on a middle-aged librarian who's showing all the obvious signs of a sedentary lifestyle. The talent tells the interviewer: "I've been blessed with a unique gift. Since the moment I took my first breath, I knew I was destined for greatness. I am definitely going to blow the judges away. This is the moment I have been waiting for all my life."

He steps up to the microphone; introduces himself to the world, and starts rubbing his hands together. This better be good! The next thing we hear is a sound that can only be described as someone breaking wind to the tune of "America the beautiful". Yes, we're blown away alright! The audience starts yelling; the judges hammer on their red buttons and moments later, our handy hero is crushed and crumbled under the weight of humiliation that will haunt him for the rest of his librarian life.

BIG EGO, NO TALENT

Lesson number two: know your strengths! Small fish wanting to play in the big pond better bring something extraordinary to the table; otherwise the big fish will have you for lunch. One AGT-episode featured a self-professed 'celebrity impersonator'. He was so bad that -even though he spelled out which impression he was going to do- no one got it. I know voice-over artists who make a decent living pretending to be someone else. Some of them are so good, it's frightening... they sound even better than the original! But unless and until your impersonation is spot-on, don't tell the world you're the next big thing. People might get the wrong impression...

GET REAL

Lesson three: get a reality check (before going on reality radio). In other words: go for a second opinion. Get as many second opinions as you can. And please, don't run to your mother for feedback. She'll love you no matter what. That's her job. What you need is an honest opinion. Go to a pro. Not one of those people who get paid to chat you up so you'll enroll into some vague voiceover academy. A good coach will analyze every ounce of your talent (or lack thereof), and expose you for what you are. A great coach will also tell you what you need to do to improve. A superb coach will teach you the tricks of the trade.

BAD LOSERS

Back to the show for lesson four: have a recovery strategy. I am still floored by how ungraceful some of the untalented are in defeat. They become defensive, they come up with excuses, they blame the judges... it's always something or someone else, isn't it? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for positive reinforcement. But America's upbeat culture of programmed positive praise has led to a distinct lack of self-awareness and humility. Thus, smiling small town hero's turn into angry big town, big time losers when they hear the dreaded word "No".

This begs the question: how should one prepare for possible rejection? Should we simply expect not to expect anything? That way, we won't ever be disappointed. If you don't strive to win, you'll never lose. Could that be the answer? But what about our hopes, our dreams and aspirations? Isn't life about taking risks, shooting for the stars and about being the best one can be? Had we been playing it safe, we'd still be staring at the moon, instead of landing on it.

Here's the good news: there is an effective auditioning strategy that will prepare you for the best outcome possible, and help you deal with the worst. But that's the subject of another article.

About the Author
Paul Strikwerda is a voice-over actor, coach and writer. No matter where you look, there are advertisements geared towards people suffering from depression. These ads claim to be able to help you deal with your problems. They claim that they have the best support around. They even claim that you can walk in one day and walk out on the next with your problems completely solved. Anyone that has ever dealt with depression before knows how unrealistic this is, but fortunately there are places elsewhere that do offer real depression support.

We know this because we are one of those places. For a long time now, Sunset Malibu has been at the forefront of understanding how depression support is best handled. Not only do we have some of the most experienced support personnel in the country, but we also have the track record of success and the customer focus to back up our words. Depression support and therapy is a very delicate process. You do not want to trust it to just anyone. So if you are picking up that phone to get help with your depression symptoms, make sure you call Sunset Malibu at 1-800-332-9202.

Depression Support At Sunset Malibu

If you are having problems with depression, you need depression support. Too many people in recent times have made the mistake of thinking that they can defeat depression on their own. While a few people have been successful in doing that, for every person that has successfully defeated depression on their own there are a hundred that have failed and continue to live with depression to this very day. This is not the ideal situation for anybody. If you are suffering from depression you want to make sure that you get out of it on your first try. The best way to do that is to get depression support. This does not mean that you go with just anyone however, as our Sunset Malibu clinic has everything you will ever need to kick this problem for good.

For starters, the Sunset Malibu facility is absolutely state of the art. When you compare it to just about any other depression support clinic around, you will find that the others come up quite short. Comfort is not an absolute requirement for overcoming depression, or even generalized anxiety disorder, but it does certainly make the whole process a lot easier to stomach. When you are comfortable physically, you tend to feel more comfortable mentally. Being comfortable mentally is critical to the success of any depression support process and that is why we are so committed to the excellence of our physical facility. To gain access to this facility and begin your counseling today, call Sunset Malibu today at 1-800-332-9202 to experience our (insert title keyword here) for yourself.

Fighting Depression Is A Team Process

If you are committed to fighting depression, you should give yourself a pat on the back. Out of the millions of people around the world that suffer from depression, very few ever decide to fight it. Most people in fact end up living with depression their entire life without doing anything about it. That is not good because depression prevents you from reaching your full potential in life. Our depression support process will make you see that in crystal clarity. With our depression support assistance, you will be able to fight depression effectively and eventually win that battle for good.

The key thing to keep in mind here though is that fighting depression is a team process. You do not want to take on this monster by yourself. There are going to be times when you are successful, but the times that you fail or lose a battle will really hurt unless you have a depression support net that can provide you with stability and context. Any person that is depressed is at risk of really falling into a debilitating sadness that will prevent them from carrying out the right action. If you undergo depression support counseling at our clinic, you will learn how to properly deal with the losses so that the worst does not happen to you. This help is available to you, but only you can reach out and grab it.

As with all co-occurring disorders, Sunset Malibu treats depression disorders as a co-occurring disorder with drug and or alcohol abuse.

If you'd like more information on this topic, please call 1-800-332-9202, or visit our website at http://www.drugrehabsunsetmalibu.com/ .

This article may be used freely, provided that the resource box is included and the links are active. Even though you know that there is no logical reason to be afraid, the fear is very real and the symptoms of panic are uncontrollable.

Symptoms of a panic attack are typically found in young adults who are between the ages of 20 to 30, but they are also found in young children. Some people believe that the feeling of anxiety is brought on by many different stressful events simultaneously. After a severe case of depression, anxiety may become an issue.

Researchers have concluded that severe panic attacks stem from genetics. Most studies indicate that 25% of the patients who suffer from severe panic attacks have a close family relative with the same or close to the same symptoms of panic.

Some people who suffer from symptoms of panic may experience repeated attacks on a regular basis. These attacks produce the feeling of intense fear and create a number of physical problems such as dizziness, shortness of breath, increase in heart rate, and nausea. People may believe that they are losing control of their minds, that they are dying and expect nothing but doom. Sometimes, the symptoms of panic are so severe, sufferers think that they are having a heart attack.

People that have recurring symptoms of panic are very negatively affected in the way that they perform their day to day tasks. A lot of individuals that suffer from recurring panic attacks spend their time worrying when they will have the next one. They can develop phobias that they never had before, for example, a fear of crowds, being outside, or any location that is public where an attack can happen. In extreme cases of severe panic, sufferers experience a self imposed isolation. They remain alone in their home because they are too fearful to venture out in public.

Symptoms of a panic attack have a way of trying to steal away important life experiences from people. If you or somebody close to you is suffering from any form of anxiety or panic disorder, there is information and people who are experienced that can be of help. Do not ever try to alleviate the problem with drugs by self-medicating, it will make the situation worse.

If unnatural fear or apprehension has taken over your life, or the life of a loved one, take action now. This lack of information deprives you from a rich source of health and curative forces against many common afflictions. In the following paragraphs we will describe both terms and its uses.

Brainwave entrainment is a natural phenomenon where the human brain has the tendency to change its dominant brainwaves towards the frequency induced by an external stimuli that can be pulses, sounds, or light. The process of producing this entrainment effect was discovered in the 19th century, and was scientifically refined and tested in the 20th century. Brainwave entrainment is an awesome technology to reprogram the mind. It can be used for meditation, relaxation, inducing sleep, focus, energy or reprogramming the mind with positive thoughts.

This phenomenon leads to a very promising technology that have real life changing power. Brainwave entrainment is a technology that enables you to synchronize to brainwave states at will. Each of these brainwave states can be altered and directed by light, sound, or even physical pulses due to the frequency following response effect. Brainwave entrainment is not some far fetched new age gimmick, it has been proven by clinical study, and has been used by NASA, Fortune 100 companies and leading minds around the world.

Thus, brainwave entrainment is an effective, unobtrusive, inexpensive, and mostly unknown technology with a history of 70 years of clinical use. Brainwave entrainment is a kind of synchronization where you can manipulate brain frequencies to match the brainwave state you want. As for example, if you want to induce sound sleep in a person, brainwave entrainment works by changing the brain frequencies to match the dominant brain frequencies that are present during sleep. Brainwaves are naturally occurring in the brain and play a part in all functions. Thousands of individuals safely use brainwave entrainment to influence brainwaves every day.

Drugs aim to have the same affect as brainwave entrainment but effect more than just your brain and develop dependencies and side effects. Even worse, drug companies are the major researchers and research founders in the field of brainwave entrainment and they are not going to sink millions into something that will not provide them with a return on their investment. Brainwave entrainment using binaural beats is quite safe; the only exception being that if you are prone to seizures, you should consult with your physician before using this technique. The same would be true about using brainwave entrainment with light.

On the other hand, binaural beats are one way of many to get entrainment, the others are light stimulation and physical pulses such as massage. Binaural beats are the action of using two distinct similar tones. Binaural beats are sound frequencies that are believed to have the ability to bring the listener into altered states of consciousness as well as deep relaxation and meditative states. Binaural beats were first recorded as being studied during the 1930's, however most scientists believe that they were discovered long before the 1930's.

Binaural beats are an interesting phenomenon that has been studied extensively by scientists in the last years. For example, women seemed to experience two separate peaks in their ability to perceive binaural beats- peaks possibly correlating with specific points in the menstrual cycle (onset of menstruation and approx. This data led Oster to wonder if binaural beats could be used as a tool for measuring relative levels of estrogen . Specific states of consciousness can also be learned as adaptive behaviors to demanding circumstances. When you listen to these beats, they cause the rhythm to train your brain waves to work on a consistent level.

Binaural beats are played through headphones and are perceived by the superior olivary nucleus of each hemisphere of the brain. The brain perceives the binaural beat and resonates to its frequency (frequency following response). Binaural Beats are produced in the brain when slightly differing tones are played in each individual ear. For example, if a 300Hz tone is played in the right ear, and a 305Hz tone is played in the left ear, the brain will then produce a third tone resonating at 5Hz (The difference between the two tones). Binaural Beats are no silver bullet - but they do have potential to be useful under the right circumstances. Binaural beats are heard when the right ear listens to a slightly different tone than the left ear. Here, the tones do not interfere physically, but are summed by the brain in the olivary nucleus .

In summary, Brainwave entrainment is the biological phenomenon of brain synchronization and binaural beats are the technique to get that effect. These techniques are used currently for a growing set of individuals to enhance learning, have more energy, sleep better as well as to combat feelings of depression, anxiety and the like. Can you imagine the value of being able to get rid of feelings of depression, anxiety, or stress by simply putting on a headphones for 30 minutes?

About the Author
Technoshaman

These are manic symptoms, psychotic symptoms, and depressive bipolar disorder symptoms. A consultation could be suitable if any of these symptoms happen.

Manic bipolar disorder symptoms are common. All of them share a certain feeling, though. Everything is bigger than life and regularly typically grander and quicker. Someone in a manic state may be much more active than usual. He may talk faster. Everything about that person is exaggerated, including their overwhelming sense of self significance.

Such an individual might have grand schemes and adventures in the works. Typically, the person will blame other factors if these plans don't pan out. Then they move on to the following concept. These are bipolar disorder symptoms, not mere whimsical behaviors.

Recklessness is exhibited in manic folks. They do things that will see them ending up in prison, or influencing their private relationships. This may be seen by someone that is not alert to bipolar disorder symptoms as simply an issue with their conduct. The truth is that those folks possibly need treatment to do better. The decent thing isn't just down to making up one's mind.

There also are physical bipolar disorder symptoms of mania that may be quite apparent. Someone may end up in a manic state if has little or not need for sleep or food. We all need sustenance and rest, so though they may be able to function this way for some time, it will not last.

Psychotic bipolar disorder symptoms come often with mania, but can come frequently with mixed moods and often with depressive bipolar disorder symptoms. A break from fact is what psychosis means. This can be both visual and auditory hallucinations. Also classified as bipolar disorder symptoms are false ideology or delusions. But when it comes down to it, I think that it is how we work or even relax, for that matter that triggers stress. Ever been stressed even when you're well relaxed and bored? I know I have.

Since Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. is unavoidable in life, it is important to find ways to decrease and prevent stressful incidents and decrease negative reactions to stress. Here are some of the things that can be done by just remembering it, since life is basically a routine to follow like brushing your teeth or eating breakfast. You can do a few of them in a longer span of time, but as they say-- every minute counts.

Managing time

Time management skills can allow you more time with your family and friends and possibly increase your performance and productivity. This will help reduce your stress.

To improve your time management:

· Save time by focusing and concentrating, delegating, and scheduling time for yourself. · Keep a record of how you spend your time, including work, family, and leisure time. · Prioritize your time by rating tasks by importance and urgency. Redirect your time to those activities that are important and meaningful to you. · Manage your commitments by not over- or undercommitting. Don't commit to what is not important to you. · Deal with procrastination by using a day planner, breaking large projects into smaller ones, and setting short-term deadlines. · Examine your beliefs to reduce conflict between what you believe and what your life is like. Build healthy coping strategies

It is important that you identify your coping strategies. One way to do this is by recording the stressful event, your reaction, and how you cope in a stress journal. With this information, you can work to change unhealthy coping strategies into healthy ones-those that help you focus on the positive and what you can change or control in your life.

Lifestyle

Some behaviors and lifestyle choices affect your stress level. They may not cause stress directly, but they can interfere with the ways your body seeks relief from stress. Try to:

· Balance personal, work, and family needs and obligations. · Have a sense of purpose in life. · Get enough sleep, since your body recovers from the stresses of the day while you are sleeping. · Eat a balanced diet for a nutritional defense against stress. · Get moderate exercise throughout the week. · Limit your consumption of alcohol. · Don't smoke.

Social support

Social support is a major factor in how we experience stress. Social support is the positive support you receive from family, friends, and the community. It is the knowledge that you are cared for, loved, esteemed, and valued. More and more research indicates a strong relationship between social support and better mental and physical health.

Changing thinking

When an event triggers negative thoughts, you may experience fear, insecurity, anxiety, depression, rage, guilt, and a sense of worthlessness or powerlessness. These emotions trigger the body's stress, just as an actual threat does. Dealing with your negative thoughts and how you see things can help reduce stress.

· Thought-stopping helps you stop a negative thought to help eliminate stress. · Disproving irrational thoughts helps you to avoid exaggerating the negative thought, anticipating the worst, and interpreting an event incorrectly. · Problem solving helps you identify all aspects of a stressful event and find ways to deal with it. · Changing your communication style helps you communicate in a way that makes your views known without making others feel put down, hostile, or intimidated. This reduces the stress that comes from poor communication. Use the assertiveness ladder to improve your communication style.

Even writers like me can get stressed even though we're just using our hands to do the talking, but having to sit for 7 or 8 hours is already stressful enough and have our own way to relieve stress. Cruise's and Brooke's debacle started when Tom Cruise openly disapproved of Brooke Shield's personal choice of opting to take prescribed medicines to cure her postpartum depression, when he guested at the Today Show. According to Cruise, who is a popular devotee of Scientology (who believes that we can be cured through natural means and that taking medicine is doing our body harm), Brooke Shields should have instead, opted to cure her postpartum depression by doing healthy exercises. Adding that a lot of people have been misinformed about depression and how to actually cure this common illness.

But what is postpartum depression really? We've heard about it often enough, yet are we really sure that we know enough about it for us to actually understand this illness in order for us to help ourselves as well as others? Being pregnant should really be a source of joy for everyone, especially the mother to be, who for nine months, will actually have living being grow from inside of her. Unfortunately, there is another side to this joyous occasion, being pregnant means that you and your body will have to get used to some adjustments for you to have a safe pregnancy. Smoking, alcohol, strenuous activities as well as stress should be avoided at all cost. A healthy baby means having a healthy mother as well. But given that you have been able to successfully avoided all these bad habits for your baby to be, childbirth is a whole different thing, as much as we may try to avoid it, there are still some unfortunate cases wherein the mother's as well as the baby's life might be in danger.

But there's actually more, postpartum depression actually happens after childbirth. Although it's quite common and a lot of women have learned to how to deal with it as well as successfully treat it (like Brooke Shields), it is still quite avoidable. Postpartum depression is actually a lot like depression, but only new moms are the possible victims of this illness. There are actually a lot possible reasons why postpartum depression occurs:

Childbirth as we all know is not as easy as pie, actual physical stress from giving birth is one of the main reasons why postpartum depression occurs. Next postpartum depression trigger is massive changes is hormonal levels. A lot of moms-to-be who were hesitant about bearing a child are also more susceptible to postpartum depression, those who are not ready to be a mother yet are more easily to get depressed as opposed to happy and excited moms-to-be.

When postpartum depression happens, it really is best to go to the doctor immediately. Aside from obviously having ill-effects for the new mother, postpartum depression can prove to be harmful to the child as well. New mothers who are suffering from postpartum depression may be harboring ill feelings toward their children. Their are actually some cases of murder wherein postpartum depression has been cited as the reason. Mothers who suffer from postpartum depression may blame their child for their weight gain, thus feeling like they've become less attractive and unloved. It is really best to consult a reputable cognitive behavior therapist to take care of your postpartum woes, your therapist may prescribe medications to help cure postpartum depression as well as therapy sessions to help relieve whatever pent emotions that you may have.

www.conqueringstress.com

About the Author
New York

www.conqueringstress.com

The fact of the matter is that addiction is always at least in part a psychological disease, and addiction recovery must always be grounded in psychological wellness. If you're going to get better, in other words, you're going to have to get better from the inside-out, even if you have mental depression, in a way that allows you to feel comfortable in your own skin. Short of that, you can't ever expect to get where you need to go.

Many "exclusive" Southern California treatment centers ignore depression symptoms and the link between addiction and depression. But not Sunset Malibu. On the contrary, Sunset was founded on the principle that the only meaningful addiction treatment is that which helps a client get better in body as well as in spirit. As Sunset's successful graduates will tell you, whether you need psychotherapy or depression treatment, that sort of emphasis can make all the difference in the world.

Rehab is an exceptionally delicate process. It can only be successful if it's administered the right way, with a proper vision of the big picture. Sunset Malibu's clinical psychologists and licensed clinical social workers know how to make treatment work, whether it's a panic attack or chronic depression. More importantly, they know how to make it work for you, on your own terms. Here's hoping you'll be wise enough to let them prove it to you.

If you'd like more information on this topic, please call 1-800-332-9202, or visit our website at http://www.drugrehabsunsetmalibu.com/ .

This press release may be used freely, provided that the resource box is included and the links are active.
