"Mom, I just threw up" is one. "Is that policeman flashing his lights at us?" is another. "There's a spider by your leg" is yet another.

Did I mention I was driving my car at the time? So I tried to stand up while driving the car and it goes all over the road because I have one eye on the road and the other eye on the spider. Do you know how hard it is to drive a car while standing up? It's not easy.

Then, I lost the spider. There's nothing creepier than losing a spider and wondering where it's going to show up next. So now I'm being stalked by a creepy spider who's mad at me because I tried to attack it with a napkin. While driving a 4,000+ pound vehicle. Because I'm a mom and I believe in multi-tasking.

No one wants to be trapped in a car with a creepy little spider with bonding issues. I tried telling the spider "It's not you, it's me" and let it down easy, but it was just too persistent and at some point, the napkin got involved.

My husband was driving behind me and followed me as I turned a corner and pulled off the road as quick as I could. He watched me leap out of the car and do a little dance, shaking a napkin. On the side of the road. In front of God and everybody.

Husband: "You got a spider in there?"
Me: "Yesssssss!"
Hubby: "I thought so, you were veering all over the road."
Me: "We're switching cars, I'm not driving my car with a spider in there."

My son tried to tell me "You got it, mom. You got it." But I didn't see any spider parts on that napkin, people.

Hubby sighed, but he knew better than to argue with a hysterical woman with a napkin in her hand who's not afraid to use it. However, after we got home he couldn't resist saying,

Hubby: "You are bigger than the spider. It can't bite you."
Me: "Does the spider know that????????"

Making Your Home Sing Monday

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday meme! Motivation, our attitude, baking, encouraging our husband or children (if we have either one), organization, cleaning, saving money....the opportunities are endless.

I am fond of chocolate. And desserts. And cookies. Did I mention I'm fond of chocolate?

I try to faithfully exercise five days a week. "Try" being the operative word here. Did I mention I'm fond of chocolate?

My children are getting older, and apparently I am too. Funny how that works. The older I get, the more I need the exercise.

Being around little kids can really show you how out of shape you are. They run, jump, hop, skip, bend, roll, and do just about every conceivable exercise move you can think of, and they do it three times as fast. It's only when they start to get a bit older that they discover the wonderful world of t.v. and computers, etc., and often have to be forced or persuaded to "go outside and play."

My elderly mom walks very slow. When we go outside she holds onto my arm and uses her cane. She would love to be able to have the range of motion that I have. She'd love to be able to walk in the snow again and make snow angels, or run outside in the sunshine, or walk in the rain without being afraid of falling.

When we have a snow storm she stares longingly out the window, wishing she could go out and play in it. During a wind storm she wants to go outside and just feel the wind beating against her body as she strains to run against it. She wants to go outside and splash in puddles and enjoy the rain storm.

Some day I will be her age, and I will fondly recall the days when I could run and my legs would carry me, walk and my body and balance would not fail me, bend and my knees would get back up again, reach and my tiptoes would hold me and I wouldn't fall, lift and my hands and arms could carry the load.

As I age, I am hoping to keep my body as healthy and flexible as I can with regular exercise. I am hoping that I will continue to try to eat healthy ("try" being the operative word here, and did I mention I like chocolate?). As I get old, I am hoping that I won't "grow" old.

My mom's body may be aging, but her mind isn't. She is curious and interested in the world around here, and she's not afraid of technology (unlike her daughter, lol!). She even has a facebook page and has a wonderful time staying in touch with friends and family members that are far away.

Are you enjoying your youth? You may feel "old" to your kids (if you have any) or even to yourself sometimes, but you are young compared to some people, such as my mom. Are you enjoying the things that you can do? Are you enjoying the health that you have?

Maybe your health isn't what it once was, but are you thankful for the health that you do have? Are you making the most of it? Maybe you have your health and feel great, are you enjoying it or just taking it for granted as we tend to do sometimes?

When's the last time you ran to the mailbox, just because you could? When's the last time you pushed your shopping cart as fast as you can and jumped on for a ride? When's the last time you put on some fun music and danced around the room until you collapsed in a fit of giggles? When's the last time you appreciated this wonderful gift of motion that God gave you?

Don't grow old before your time. Don't let your body grow old before its time.

Move your body this week. Walk, run, hop, skip, jump, dance. MOVE! Relish the beauty of motion, and what your body is capable of.

Don't just settle for sitting at the computer or in front of the t.v., saying there will be time later. Don't waste what God has given you NOW in favor of later.

Whatever you can do, do it. Maybe you can only walk a few steps. Do it. Maybe you can only jump rope 10 seconds. Do it. Just get out there and MOVE IT, MOVE IT!!!!!!

What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today! Well, you know I am all about setting priorities and finishing what I started.

So, of course, I said yes!

I mean, seriously, how can you say no to ice cream????? I do hate the fact that I have to get dressed, though.

Yes, it's nearly 6:00 p.m. my time and I am wearing a t-shirt and pajama bottoms. Tinkerbelle pajama bottoms. Yes, I DO think that you needed to know that.

So, for now I am making my home sing by leaving it and spending some time with a friend! So now I am meme-less!

However, I am never without at least something I can do, improve upon, or work on to make my home sing that week.

Last week I attacked a drawer. Ever have one of those drawers, cupboards or closets that seems full to overflowing? Well then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I took everything out of the drawer with the intent of sorting through everything and then putting back only what I really thought I'd use.

Only I never sorted through it.

I never put any of it back either.

So my dining room looks like something exploded in there. Good thing we have an eat-in kitchen! Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one). My point with each Monday post is, what are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing?

It can be an attitude or an action. Motivation, our attitude, baking, encouraging our husband or children (if we have either one), organization, cleaning, saving money....the opportunities are endless.

I know tomorrow is Monday. I know it. But frankly I don't believe it. The weekend went too fast and I, for one, am not ready for Monday.

Monday, Monday, sometimes I dread you, sometimes you dread me. Can't we all just get along?

This weekend my oldest came home from college for a visit. While we were hanging out at Costco (where else?) he mentioned that his shoes had a hole in them and his socks got wet when it rained.

So, what do you suppose his mommy did? That's right, I bought him some shoes. He is a college student and he doesn't have any extra money, lol!

Both my sons are in college (one lives at home, one lives in another state) and they are relying on scholarships, college loans, money saved *before* they started college, and working their way through college. They take their schooling seriously, and for that I am thankful.

What if we worked at our homemaking that diligently?

What if we worked as hard at our homemaking as we would if we were graded on it? What grade would you get on your housecleaning skills? What grade would you get on your cooking? What grade would you get if you were graded on managing your home? Your children? Yourself? What about your job outside the home (if you have one)?

What if you were graded on your appearance? What grade would you get? Are you getting dressed every day or is every day "pajama day?" What grade would your bedroom get? Your bathroom? (Right now I think my bathroom would get a Pass but I'm thinking my bedroom would get a Fail.)

What grade would you get if you were graded on the amount of time you put into facebook or playing around on the computer?

Sometimes I think I'd get a 4.0 at goofing off. I aim to be so diligent at my homekeeping at the start of the day, and I have new recipes I want to try and by golly, I am going to mop that floor if it's the last thing I do.

Then somebody leaves a comment on my facebook status, or someone sends me an email or leaves me a comment on my blog. A favorite t.v. show comes on. My favorite magazine comes in the mail. A friend calls.

It sure is easy to get distracted when no one is standing over you, telling you to get to work, or you know you're not being graded on it.

Hmmmmmm, maybe we should pretend we're being graded on what we do and see if our homes are going to sing or sink!

What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today! It's enough to make a grown man (or woman) cry. It's a challenge, a test, a teaser, and a pain in the patootie. If you don't know what a patootie is, ask my mother.

We've written our post, it's ready to publish.....and now we have to come with a TITLE for it.

Talk about putting fear into your heart. Will the title convey what the post is about? Will it interest anyone enough to come over and read further? Will it be witty and clever? Have we used it before?

I honestly think that I spend more time trying to think up a title than I did writing the post itself.

Sometimes I want to put "A Post Title" on a post.

Then, on the next post I want to put "Another Title" and then "Yet Another Title" and so on and so on.

Sometimes I can think up awesome titles, but I can't think of any post to really go with it. Maybe I should just write the awesome titles and then leave the post blank and let people fill it in themselves. You know, use their own imagination. Maybe it would be a hit!

I wonder if I can write a blog post that has absolutely nothing to do with the title. I can, right? Because it's my post and I can title if I want to. Sing it with me........

I just want to know that I am not alone in agonizing over what to call my blog posts. I put much less thought into what to name my children. I mean, seriously.

I put much less thought into choosing my husband. O.k., not really. It just sounded good. So did he.

I wonder if I could make a living at writing blog post titles and selling them. My point with each Monday post is, what are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing?

It can be an attitude or an action. Huge.

My Christmas decorations aren't put away yet. Oh, they're down. Mostly down. O.k., somewhat down.........

The tree is gone and most of the house decorations are shoved in a corner, waiting for me to put them in their boxes and be done with them. But there are a few of them that I haven't taken down yet.

I usually take them down the day after New Years. But I hurt my back (again) right before Christmas and so when New Years rolled around I was still waiting for it to feel better.

Now it's feeling much better but I'm not feelin' the desire to tackle that project. And besides, Christmas is 330 days away, so what's the hurry?

It's not just Christmas exploding in my house. It's the Christmas boxes, and the thrift store boxes, and the unfolded laundry, and the folded laundry, and the unread magazines piling up, and the......and the.........

Frankly, I'm getting tired of looking around and seeing a mess. I'm getting tired of being afraid of having someone ring my doorbell. I'm getting tired of living in fear that I will have to invite someone in.

Every time that doorbell rings I cringe. I don't like cringing. I like having my house neat so that I don't have to live in fear if the doorbell rings.

Are you living in fear of the doorbell? That doorbell isn't the boss of you, is it? Facebook isn't the boss of you, is it? Pinterest isn't the boss of you, is it? If something is stealing your time and keeping you from doing the stuff you know you need to be doing, take back control and make your home sing this week!

What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today! Heaven rejoicing in welcoming him Home.

Don't leave an important "I was going to...." unsaid or undone today. You may not get that second chance. Hug your husband and babies tighter, tell them you love them one more time. Motivation, our attitude, baking, encouraging our husband or children (if we have either one), organization, cleaning, saving money....the opportunities are endless.

As much as I've enjoyed my break I figured I probably should come back at some point and start blogging again, lol! We had a lovely Christmas and I hope you did too. I enjoyed having my oldest home from college. Both my boys home in the "nest"....it just doesn't get any better than that, lol! A few weeks relaxing at home while my back was healing and I have lost much of my motivation.

Have you ever given much thought to motivation? Have you ever found yourself lacking in it? Have you ever found yourself wishing or praying for it?

I think that motivation is what gets you going, but determination keeps you going and keeps you committed to accomplishing a goal.

Motivation can be internal or external factors that move you to do something. Determination is a decision you make, you resolve to do something.

Sometimes you can wait a very long time for motivation. Sometimes you just don't "feel" like doing something.

Determination doesn't wait to feel anything. Determination decides what needs to be done and does it. Determination doesn't care if you feel like it or not.

Motivation makes it easier to do it. Motivation makes you excited and want to do it. Motivation makes you get up and do it today.

But motivation can be easily put off until tomorrow. Motivation can easily be discarded for a cookie, a good book, or a friend calling. Motivation knows that there is always tomorrow.

Determination doesn't like to wait until tomorrow. Determination can be firmly resolved to do what needs doing today. Determination can see that it gets done. Determination is willing to wait weeks or longer to accomplish a goal, even in the face of discouragement.

Motivation can often be lost, but quickly regained in the face of determination. Determination can often become weak in the face of an obstacle, but quickly regain strength with motivation. They need each other.

Motivation is nothing without determination. Determination is nothing without motivation.

There has to be a reason or a value to do something, and then there has to be a commitment to keep doing it to the accomplished end.

Do you have things in your life that need doing? Do you have things around your home that need doing? Sure you do, we all do!

Don't ignore the motivation and determining factors in your life. Sometimes motivation is as simple as "We will lose our electricity if I don't pay this bill." That's an easy motivator set by someone else.

Set your own motivator. "If I don't clean the kitchen before I go to bed tonight, I will have to clean up two messes in the morning, breakfast and last night's dinner mess, and then I won't have time to relax with my coffee." Determine to clean the kitchen that night.

Make a list of things that need doing and when you want or need to do them by. Throw in a few fun rewards along the way. Sometimes I will reward myself with ten or fifteen minutes reading time in between cleaning chores that I don't want to do. I make sure and set a timer and I make sure that I put that book down and get moving again when the timer goes off.

Thank you all for linking up last week. I hurt my back again and by the time last Monday rolled around I was in a lot of pain, so I didn't get around to reading your entries. I'm sorry about that. It's hard for me to sit (or stand) at the computer very long so I've been lying around and doing lots of reading!

I did manage to get one post up later in the week because most of it was already done before I hurt my back. I've been to the doctor and have pain pills though so that's a blessing!

One week until Christmas. Can you believe it? Just doesn't seem real. This year went fast, didn't it?

It seems like people aren't putting up outdoor Christmas lights like they used to. I imagine it may be due to the economy, a time crunch, or maybe the "old" people moved and new people moved into the neighborhood.

It just seems like there aren't as many on display as there used to be. Maybe I'm not driving around at night as much this year. Who knows?

We haven't put our outdoor lights up in years. But our tree and indoor lights are up! I love this time of year. I love the decorations, the tree, the holiday music, the hope that maybe, just maybe, it might be a white Christmas, and buying gifts for those I love.

Still, that's not what Christmas is really all about. It's about one special GIFT that was given to us in the form of a newborn baby. A Baby who came to do something that no one else could do: reconcile us to an almighty God.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Salvation is God's gift to us, through Jesus Christ. We don't deserve it and we can't earn it. It's free.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2: 8 & 9)

This faith is what makes my heart and my home sing this week and every week.

I'm putting this meme up today, and then I'm taking a couple of weeks off since next Sunday is Christmas. Have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I'll see you in a couple of weeks!

What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today! I don't know what else I'll be doing to make my home sing but I'm sure I'll find something.

What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today! Please do not put your own "Making Your Home Sing Monday" Linky on your blog. As always, please don't forget to link to this post. Also, please don't forgot to leave me a comment!

If you want to use your blog header or profile picture, use the "from the web" button on your right (after you click to link up). This meme is designed to give women accountability and encourage them to get out of their daily sweats or pajamas or rut that they're in and document what they wore each day and post it to their blogs.

Thursday
Purple turtleneck: Sonoma
Purple scarf: Don't remember
Black vest: Jennifer Moore, Macy's
Jeans: Levis 515 bootcut

I think I'm "layer-happy." I ran some errands and suddenly found myself trying on clothes at the mall. Do you know how annoying it is to remove a shirt, sweater, necklace AND a coat just to try on a $3.98 top on clearance??? And then, after all that trouble, you don't like the shirt after all.

If a shirt looks better on the hanger than it does on you, what does that mean? Should I be insulted that the hanger obviously is more attractive than I am? Should I be jealous that the hanger has a better figure than I do?

Heartbreaking, just heartbreaking to go to all that work for nothing. I am soooooo hiring a body double.

Saturday
White tank under: Target
Green & White top: Target, thrifted
Green hoodie: Sag Harbor, thrifted
Jeans: Levis

I ran several errands this day. Apparently, the concept of personal space disappears during the holiday season. The gal behind me in line placed her stuff on the counter before I could get mine on there. She then proceeded to stand so close to me that she was practically wearing my clothes. I believe we are now married in several states.

I later wore this outfit to a casual Christmas party. Within an hour I was also wearing caramel dip and pink frosting. I wasn't alone, the gal next to me was wearing her food too. Let the holiday eating begin!

Sunday
Purple sweater: Kohl's
Necklace: Kohl's
Brown jacket: Sam's Club
Brown pants: Sam's Club
Brown boots: Hand-me-down

(Would somebody please come over and clean that mirror???)

This is the day that I vacuumed and sucked up a 6 inch Christmas tree with my Dyson. That takes real talent, people.

All is well, my friends. The tree is a bit wonky and frankly, I am afraid of my vacuum cleaner but the mini trees are even more afraid, as they should be.

This is also the day that we were having about 35 people over, and I was frantically washing my couch slipcover to get the "throw-up" smell out, and praying it would dry before they all came. I was also thinking bad thoughts about a certain dog who shall remain nameless. He is dead to me now.

Tuesday
Black turtleneck: JC Penney
Black hoodie: Costco
Black/Gray/White scarf: Thrifted
Jeans: Levis 515 bootcut

Nothing particularly exciting happened this day.

Boy, this week went fast!!! Can you believe it's almost Christmas????? I mean seriously, wasn't it just summer yesterday?

I'll bet January, February and March are just going to drag their little monthly tails to make up for Fall going by so fast. I ask you, does that seem fair to you?

The worst months, weather-wise, going so slowly? Day after day of dreary, wet or freezing cold weather?

The way I see it, weather is not the boss of me.

Isn't it funny how what is going on on the outside can affect what goes on on the inside?

Your circumstances aren't the boss of you. Little annoyances aren't the boss of you. That ding dong is not the boss of you (step away from the ding dong......). That grumpy co-worker is not the boss of you. Your BOSS is not the boss of you.

Not the real you, the inside you. The you that decides and makes the choice as to how you are going to handle your response to a situation. You don't have to go it alone either. You have a loving God Who will be there every step of the way.

Today you can decide to smile more than you frown, to laugh more than you cry. Today you can decide to love more than you hate. Today you can decide to be patient more than you're impatient, to listen more than you argue.

Today you can decide to be productive more than you're lazy. Today you can decide to spend more time with your family than you spend on the computer. Today you can decide to be happy more than you're unhappy. Today you can decide to be different.

Will it change your circumstances? Maybe, but probably not. But it will change YOU.

Today is a new day. It's your choice.

What are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing? Please go here for instructions and/or ideas and come back here to link up to join us today! I found their whole conversation highly entertaining and thought I'd share it with you to the best of my ability.

Woman at the store: "I bought a lamp and I want to exchange it for this."

Clerk: "Certainly. Can I have the lamp, please?"

Woman: "It's at home but here is the receipt."

Clerk: "I'll need the lamp, ma'am."

Woman: "But I have the receipt. See, it shows that I bought the lamp. I'll bring it back later."

Clerk: "But I can't let you walk out of here with THIS one without returning the lamp first. It's an exchange, and I have to have the lamp. I need proof."

Woman: "My receipt is my proof. I am a very honest person!!!"

Clerk: "I'm sorry but I can't do an exchange without the lamp."

Woman: "Do you mean to tell me that I have to drive all the way home and get it?"

What I Wore Wednesday

Today I am linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for her fabulous "What I Wore Wednesday" meme. This meme is designed to give women accountability and encourage them to get out of their daily sweats or pajamas or rut that they're in and document what they wore each day and post it to their blogs.

Only three outfits this week, aren't you lucky? I really did get dressed the other days, I promise.

Day of the week?: Don't remember
Black tank: Target
Black, tan, maroon & white plaid shirt: Erika & Co.
Black hoodie: Costco
Jeans: Don't remember that either
Boots: Thrifted

I seriously have no idea what day I wore this outfit. I blame the microwave. You know how they warn you not to stand in front of those things? Well, I have spent many an anxious moment waiting for my popcorn to pop. I have probably sacrificed many a memory cell in order to have some of that buttery goodness, but frankly I am o.k. with.......sorry, what was I saying?

Sunday
Black turtleneck: JC Penney
Green & Black vest: Target, thrifted ($3)
Jeans: Gap
Necklace: Kohl's
Note to self: long necklaces are not a good idea in the nursery.

I just now noticed that I forgot to cut the head out of these pictures, but I am not going back. I was not impressed with this outfit, but I was working in the nursery at church so figured it would be good enough to crawl on the floor with babies in it.

The poor sentence structure of the previous sentence might lead you to believe that I was going to crawl around the floor with babies tucked into my clothes. Not true. That would just be too weird. I tuck them into my shoes instead.

Please ignore the garbage which I am pretty positive that you didn't notice it but now feel the need to notice it. That is due to laziness, allergies, an empty facial cleanser, and dogsitting a dog with a serious paper fetish. So I find little papers and things all over the house and somehow it just seems easier to toss it in the bathroom, where the dog finds it and drags it out again.

I also blame the microwave for that because if the dog knew how to make popcorn he would be too busy to chew up paper.

Yes, those are little mini Christmas trees on those shelves and you probably didn't notice them either. I am o.k. with that. I put them up there as a joke because I was getting tired of decorating and didn't know what to do with them, and there they stayed. They are probably going to stay there until August. I blame the microwave for that as well.

Tuesday
Pink turtleneck: Old
Brown hoodie top: Target
Jeans: Levis 515 bootcut

I feel the need to apologize for this photo. Maybe grovel at your feet and promise to make you hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies every week for a year? Well, I suppose this is better than wearing a raggedy old sweatshirt and sweatpants, right? Some clothes look better in person than they do in a picture, and some cookies look better in a box than they do on my hips. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Making Your Home Sing: A Head-Start On The Holidays

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday meme! Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one). My point with each Monday post is, what are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing?

It can be an attitude or an action. My oldest boy was on his college break and so he was home for a week. So nice to have both my "babies" in the nest again! In fact, that's the reason why I haven't read all your meme entries from last week. But I'm hoping to catch up soon!

Yesterday it looked like Christmas threw up all over my house. The Fall decorations were on the dining room table, waiting to be put away. Some of the Christmas decorations were out, waiting for someone to put them somewhere, and some were still in their boxes.

My 22 year old was stringing lights and garland all over the railing and his 18 year old brother was trying to put up some decorations and cram in some food all at the same time because isn't that what 18 year old men do?

Their dad was trying to keep the four dogs at bay and prevent them from eating the Christmas tree decorations. We did have one casualty though.

Rosie, on the left, decided to let her brother Qui Que (pronounced Key-Kay) on the right take the fall for it. The college-age group is coming over for salad and I'm thinking they'd probably like to be able to sit down. So this week I will be making my home sing by putting away the Christmas boxes and the last of the items left out.

I also have a huge decluttering project in the basement, as my mom is sorting through her boxes of stuff. I will help her with that as well.

By getting my home into shape I will have a head-start on the holidays. What can YOU do to give yourself a head-start this holiday season? This meme is designed to give women accountability and encourage them to get out of their daily sweats or pajamas or rut that they're in and document what they wore each day and post it to their blogs.

You guys should try this! Not only is it great for accountability, it can break you of the habit of saving your "good" clothes for anyone except your precious family who sees you in the same t-shirt and jeans/sweats every day. Plus, you can get some fun, creative style ideas (not from here though, sorry but I'm not that cool. Make sure you pop over to the meme itself, lol!)

Friday
Blue turtleneck: Old
Black vest: Jennifer Moore, Macy's
Jeans: Gap
Boots: Thrifted
Scarf: Thrifted

Only three outfits this week. I did get dressed every day, I promise.

In this picture the scarf almost looks like a vest. I was determined to wear it because of its "Fall" colors. Well, if Fall is orange, purple, green, maroon, and blue.

I stared at my closet and mourned the fact that I didn't have a bright orange or purple hoodie. Well, I don't have a maroon one either but I didn't mourn that as much because I like bright colors. The green and blue hoodies that I do have don't "match" the scarf.

So I wore it with a blue color that didn't really match and black that definitely didn't match. And black is supposed to go with everything. Except Fall. Unless you're a bat. The kind that flies, not the other kind.

But at least I managed to squeeze the scarf in before Fall disappears. It's kind of like buying reindeer earrings and forgetting to wear them until Christmas is long over. Not that I've done that, of course.

Saturday
White tank: Target
Red & White hoodie:
Jeans: Levis 515 bootcut

We have four dogs this week because we're dogsitting my friend's two dogs. I had this hoodie hanging on a door handle, and one of her dogs "christened" it for me. Everybody's a critic. Just in case you're wondering, I did wash it before I wore it.

Sunday
Brown shirt: Costco
Brown & White cardi: Urban Diva; thrifted
Brown pants: Sam's Club
Brown boots: Hand-me-down

I think it's hysterically funny that I bought my pants and shirt at the same place where I buy groceries. Just imagine me walking around......"Let's see, I need milk, cheese, butter, m&m's (duh!), and oh, yeah, I need a shirt and a pair of pants." If I tried that at some other grocery store I'd be wearing lettuce and coconuts.

Somehow, in the writing of this post, I found myself scrubbing the toilet at 12:20 a.m. In case you're wondering how that happened I'll explain. But in another post, because, as I said....it's after midnight and I am going to bed! So come back!

Making Your Home Sing Monday

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday meme! Her daughter, a college student, saw it and said "Ummm....no.....it's lime green....." And there you have it, folks. The generation gap all wrapped up in a lime green hoodie with black stripes. Who knew?

Saturday
"Moody" hoodie: Disney
Blue shirt: Old
Jeans: Gap, thrifted
Slippers: Macy's

This is one reason why I haven't been linking up lately. It's just an endless parade of me wearing sweaters or hoodies. Love this one, though. It says "Moody" across the front and has Eeyore on it.

When my oldest was three we took him to Disneyland and we turned on the video camera and filmed him with Eeyore. Unfortunately I kept calling Eeyore, "Igor," (think hunchbacked evil scientist's helper). "Look, it's Igor! Let's go get your picture taken with Igor. Go stand next to Igor, honey. Say thank you to Igor........."

No wonder everyone kept staring at me funny. Pretty sure they wondered what kind of movies I allowed my three year old to watch. I am so blessed to have it immortalized on camera forever.

Sunday
Black Pea Coat: Hand-me-down
Gray dress/tunic: Yard sale
Necklace: Kohl's
Leggings: TJ Maxx
Boots: Thrifted

Today I broke out the wool coat. Does anyone else note the subtle humor of wearing a pea coat while next to the toilet? Yeah, me neither.

This is what was hidden under the coat. I actually wore a black sweater over the gray sweater/tunic for awhile. There's nothing like layering in the Fall.

Monday
Hoodie: Disney
Scarf: Old

Can you believe I am subjecting you to this horrible picture? It was late and I was determined to get the shot after I returned home from hanging with my peeps. Well, it was only 9 p.m. but if it's 9 p.m. and I am not in my jammies then something is wrong somewhere. Let me tell you, I love the nightlife. As long as I'm home before 9:00 p.m.

Tuesday
Striped shirt: Target
Purple sweater: Admit One
Jeans: Levis 515 bootcut
Slippers: Macy's, gifted

Another great shot. Think it's time to wash that mirror again. And maybe my hair. And de-dog the slippers. Nothing but the best for you people.
