On the sunrise of Thursday, the 10th September, the BlocStac-ship leaves the harbor and sails towards some invitees. This is the first bigger wave of invitations and we are very eager to hear feedback of the shipment.

As you see in the picture, the ship is definitely ready for the ocean. However, you also might realize that many more containers can be and will be shipped. If you have ideas for new containers, don't hesitate to tell us.

The next ship leaves at the end of October. If you want to be part of the cruise and test-drive BlocStac for free, make sure you sign up for an invitation on the home page.

What's a Wiki?

I get regularly asked what a wiki really is. According to Wikipedia (which is also a Wiki), "Wiki" is Hawaiian and stands for "fast". It characterizes the quick way of editing web pages. In my opinion, "Microsoft Word on the internet" describes best the first impression but it neglects all the community effects that are most important. Describing these effects in words has no point, so here's a great video: Wikis in plain English. Commoncraft produces those chatty but illustrative videos. Enjoy:

BlocStac wins 3rd prize

Every year, there is a competition for the best start-up in the canton of Zug called Jungunternehmerpreis Zug. The rules are straight forward: Each of the 13 start-ups has got exactly 5 minutes. Anybody that talks longer is happily whistled off stage by the general secreatary of the department of economic affairs and the only means allowed is an overhead projector. After all presentations, everybody in the audience has a written vote for their three favorites.

The award ceremony starts directly after counting the votes and the wiiinnnner iiiiiiis ....... BlocStac! We take great pride in having won the third prize and we would like to thank the audience many times!!
