Literally...'New York', the loud mouth chain-smoking star of I <3 New York-Tiffany Pollard crossed my mind. Have no idea why and I hope it doesn't happen again but for now it is what it is. Anyhoo...last time I seen her, yikes, her cheeks looked as if she was beat with a sock full of nickels and her breasts rivaled that of any porn star.

Wendy 'How You Doin' Williams, says black women are 'jealous

TV show host Wendy Williams has never been one to mince words, so don't expect her to start mincing them now.

Wendy, who knows her around an operating room, believes when it comes to plastic surgery-black women are jealous. Ummmmm ok, Wendy-if you say so.

Wendy went on to say,

“Because if I said to that person, ‘I got the doctor and I’m going to pay for it. Choose three things you want to do,’ believe me, they would get it done. They are very jealous and scared. Scared of what their other friends would say, or to break out of the box and be different,” says Wendy. The talk show host adds: “And being Black? Ugh, please. My people will not go for any kind of surgery. We are supposed to be natural. Ugh, whatever.” source

Sooo...are they jealous because of not being able to afford plastic surgery (hmmm, I personally know of several black women whose had plastic surgery and many more who would if they could!) or are they jealous because Wendy is brave enough to pursue her sculptural pursuits?? Pfft...whatevs. I'm sure there's a reason why Wendy has come to that conclusion-but for now peeps-what do you think?

TIME MAGAZINE: The Cover That Shocked The Nation- REALLY?!?!

Not quite understanding what the fuss is about a woman breastfeeding her CHILD. This is not a new phenomenon.

According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition:

Data were analyzed from a cross-sectional nutrition surveillance survey to determine the association between extended breast-feeding and growth. The sample consisted of 2148 initially breast-fed children between 12 and 47 mo of age. Breast-feeding for > 24 mo was associated with a greater height-for-age Z score, and breast-feeding for > 18 mo was associated with greater weight-for-age and weight-for-height Z scores. These results remained significant after the number of food groups being consumed at 12 mo of age, age when the selected food items were first given to a child, the consumption of powered milk, recent infections, age, sex, birth order, birth weight, county of residence, father's occupation, and mother's education were controlled for. These results suggest that extended breast-feeding in this population, in which food was introduced late in infancy, was associated with improved nutritional status as measured by standard anthropometric indicators. source

Lark Voorhies of Saved By The Bell fame: UPDATED

Two years ago, I wrote about Lark Voorhies, who gained fame as Lisa Turtle from the hit TV sitcom, Saved By The Bell.

I'm writing a second post, because Lark was featured on Yahoo's The Yo Show, yesterday, and she shared with the audience her latest ventures. She has a new company called Yo Soy Productions and her movie (which she wrote, directed, executive produced and stars in)-Hope For Pandora's Box -is on the horizon. Good for her!

Now, the reason she's the topic of this blog post-well..same reason she was featured on the initial blog post. Her face has changed, even moreso. I'm not sure what's going on...but I'm not going to be unkind because there may be an internal issue.

Be that as it may ~~Lisa Turtle~~, Lark Voorhies seems just as sweet now as she did in her youthful years.

Lesson Learned from 'Reality Shows': Keep a Side Hustle...

Living vicariously through the several 'reality' shows I watch, I've learned such shows can parlay into riches and fame. Shaunie O'Neal-a true Basketball (ex) wife, her former husband was NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, hit the motherlode with her Basketball Wives franchise by retaining Executive Producer credits. She's gone from 'plain jane' to a powerhouse (see pics below):

As long as there are women who are willing to subject themselves to fuckery (a la Tami Roman & Evelyn Lozado, see pic below), Shaunie's bank account should remain on the positive side. Poor Meeka Claxton tried to hang but she came and went like a Popeye's Chicken Tuesday $2 wing special. Shaunie had a shoe line, once upon a time-but apparently that project has since been scrapped. Not to worry, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Shaunie has a net worth of $35 million dollars! Not bad at all, Shaunie.

Unfortunately, not all reality stars had such foresight. Sheree Whitfield of Real Housewives of Atlanta has been fired, excommunicated, given walking papers or to save face, she says she left the show because she wants 'to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect.' Sheree, you contributed to the ratchetness of RHOA...helllooooo??

Anyways, now that Andy Cohen signed off on ridding the show of Sheree, it seems she's blown the dust off of her placard, 'She by Sheree' and is attempting (once again) to find her place in the fashion industry. This time she will revamp She by Sheree as an athletic clothing line rather than couture fashion. That's right, stick with what you're good at Sheree.

Lesson learned: While the checks are rolling in, invest in yourself. Get the plastic surgery while you can, pay off your homes, invest in your projects til fruition-so that your hustles can continue to work for you post-reality show!

Three and a Half Months later...I EAT MY WORDS!!

At this very moment, I'm watching at the 'reality' show, Mob Wives. This episode is about Karen Gravano's book release party for her book Mob Daughter (the book reviews are..horrible, but I digress). Why do I continue to watch this reality show? Two words: BIG ANG. I pre-judged Big Ang, and I swear if she wasn't on this show-I wouldn't bother recording the episodes.

WHENEVER she's featured, you know what I wait for? Her laugh! lol I'm literally lol'g as I think about her laughing.

But more importantly, Big Ang is a beacon of light in a sea of drama, crying and cursing. She's always neutral and should have a firemen (women)'s uniform because she's always putting out fires lol

I love Big Ang...yeah, I said it. I'd also love to know who does her hair-it's fabulous!

It's been awhile since I've had an addition to the 'A Big Gulp of WTF' series, but please trust and believe, this person is WELL worth the wait.

I was minding my own business watching Mob Wives...amusing myself listening to cast DESTROY the english language (youz know how that is). Anyhoo, during the show...there was this...creature talking to one of the women one of the women on a balcony during a 'celebration of life' party (don't ask). Honestly, the face, the voice...I got nothing. I couldn't tell if it was male or female. As the show progressed I heard someone call her Ang. There's a lead! I head to Google, conduct my search and discovers she's a she, Angela Raiola. I will say, her black hair was fly..but the rest of her...yecch. I'm sure she's a nice woman,as a matter of fact, she IS a nice woman-lawd knows I'm not trying to sleep with the fishes lol

All hail...THE child is born! The most beautifulest baby-the baby with spectacular R&B/Hip Hop lineage that's ever been anticipated, has been birthed. Try to control yourselves, peasants! Thy child is here....whom am I referring to??

One of our B &P members, Beyonce has 'delivered' her baby yesterday. No deets on her daughter, Blue Ivy's weight-but she delivered at NY's Lenox Hill Hospital. It's been said the 4th floor was rented out at the hospital for an impressive $1.3 million dollars. Dayum.

While there's been speculation about Beyonce actually carrying the baby herself, (see video 0:59, and photo below)-I mean how else can Bey insure she looks camera ready in her leotards ;)- we're happy the baby's healthy.

Nick Cannon Hospitalized for Kidney Failure

Nick Cannon has been hospitalized in Aspen, Colo., with what his wife Mariah Carey is calling "mild kidney failure."

"Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman," the singer wrote on Twitter Wednesday, alongside a photo of her helping Cannon take a drink in his hospital bed.

Carey later elaborated in a post on her website: "Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are."

She added: "We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. ... I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers."

Carey, 41, and Cannon, 31, were previously spotted out and about in Aspen on New Year's Eve. The couple have twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who wereborn on April 30.

The only reason to watch Bravo TV's Real Housewives of Miami....and I promise it's painful to watch, is because of cast member Marysol Patton's mother, Elsa. This cuban firecracker, a self-confessed witch/psychic, is quick-witted and hilarious. However, Ms. Elsa is more known for her face...and not in a good way!

Ms. Elsa has taken a swim in the plastic surgery pool a lil too often and boy oh boy does it show! tsk tsk

Because of her thick accent and residual effects from her plastic surgeries, it's hard to understand Ms. Elsa at times. But thank goodness for subtitles because-even the subtitles are funny! Regardless of Ms. Elsa's facial evolution, I am forever her fan.

Being young can be a trying time. Trying to find your way, and live up to th expectations of society can cause you to do crazy things. Claudia Aderotimi, found out the hard way. Wanting to make herself marketable in the hip-hop industry as a video vixen she set out to get buttocks implants after being told by video directors her booty's too small.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures...smh After being injected with what's thought to be industrial caulk, Claudia complained of chest pains 12 hours after her procedure..she later died.

The publicity mills are all abuzz about Tyler Perry's next movie...For Colored Girls. However, what many (the younger generations) aren't aware of: the movie is based off a play by a phenomenal woman by the name of Ntozake Shange! Ms. Ntozake is the playwright of the famous play, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf. it's also available in paperback.

My reason for this post? To show yous fierce swag isn't just for the 20-something woman and Ms. Shange is proof at a helluva strong 62yrs of age! Oh She's Fancy, Huh?! lol
