Daphne Joy The Total Package

Anyone that has been reading this blog for awhile knows I am a big fan of Daphne Joy. Without a doubt, she just dials it every time. Daphne is one of the few models working in the urban scene that knows how to dominate the lens.

What has Daphne been up to since my last post?

I was in Justin Timberlands’s “Carry Out” video, but I’ve been moving further away from music videos to focus on television and films. I filmed the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, which comes out later this year. I played a mermaid in the film. I think it’s going to be one of my biggest career moves thus far. I also filmed a movie with Danny Trejo called House of the Rising Sun. It’s a Lionsgate film. And I’ve been on some television shows like Criminal Minds and CSI.

Girl doesn’t even mention her commercial work. I included one at the end of the post that sold me on the product.

Emmaly talks about her tomboy phase:

I was a tomboy type who wore big clothes. I would wear over-sized shirts that I would tuck in the front and hang out the back so that no one could see my butt. I dressed like that until I was in the 9th grade. I would put my hair up in a bun with like a hundred bobby pins…

No doubt she grew out of that in a big way.

When it comes to men, I’m old school. I take care of all my man’s needs. I cook, clean and look pretty while I’m doing it. I hate men that are pushovers or have no hustle, I want my man to go out and get it like I do… loyalty is mandatory, I’ll give my all but don’t try to play me. I’ll make like a clown, ask my ex.;)

Foreva Babie in Smoothgirl

Foreva Babie is new to Smooth, and she hits the stands in the pages of the new Smoothgirl.

On shooting with Smooth…

This was my first time shooting for a magazine, so it was a real learning experience. Sandy helped me out a lot with the poses and positioning. I didn’t really know how to use my body. She was really patient with me because I was a little nervous. Now I’m really good at it, and it’s all because of her.
…After you shoot for Smooth, your confidence goes up. Now I’m a little cocky in front of the camera. That’s something I didn’t have before.

Good things do come in tight little packages. Kara Allison thought being 5′ 3″ was too short for a model until she got noticed, and cast, in a dozen music videos since 2008.

Girl has being doing more than just dancing. On learning to play with fire for Birdman’s “Fire Flame” music video…

[Laughs] It was very nerve-racking at first, when they were explaining to me what I would be doing, but at the same time, very exciting. I love trying new things, and I thought it would come out dope in the end.

They had a professional come in and show me how to use it properly, and I caught on within a couple of minutes. It was actually pretty easy. I tried not to concentrate too much on the sparklers, and concentrate more on my dancing.

No doubt girl is pure fyre.

Kameron Dash makes her Show debut in issue 20 on stands now. Kameron takes a moment to share some words with us and we hit you with the pictures.

What’s on your iPod?
I actually don’t own an ipod which is surprising but lately I been on Miguel and avant ‘s new CD.

What did you like best about working behind the scenes putting fashion shows together?
When I did my fashion show I would say the best thing about it was walking out at the end and getting that feeling of accomplishment, I was proud of myself for proving I could work under pressure and still produce an amazing show.

Who would you like to work with next?
I would love to work with Nick again, but as far as next I’m shooting for Urban Ink, Blackmen, and Maxim.

Aside from your bar-code tattoo that you talked about with SHOW, what is the meaning of another one of your tattoos?
Another tattoo with meaning I have is the words “no pain is forever”. That’s how I feel about all pain, physical, mental, etc. Time heals it all.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Guilty pleasure: FOOOOD! Lol I love food and although I’m petite, I eat all the time.

What’s your personal style, what do you feel comfortable wearing?
Personality style: I guess you can say maybe I have two sides because I can be really chill and laid back, love to observe people but on the other hand I can be a complete goof ball, silly as I want to be lol. I’m most comfortable in leggings and a T-shirt at home, watching movies.

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to try new things for fun, I love to jet ski or go boating, I’m more of a tropical girl so throw me a bikini, some sand under my feet and a drink in my hand, I’ll be happy LOL.

If you could have a photo shoot anywhere in the world where would it be?
If I could have a PHOTOSHOOT anywhere in the world, hmmm there’s so many places, I’d say Rome or Italy.
