We have a couple new Little Boots remixes for you…

First up is the premier of the Stonemasons club remix of “Earthquake” — pretty straight forward club remix of the track that places Little Boots vocals front and center. It’s your Friday night Open House Party mix:

And then there is the Daedelus remix. Post-earthquake, post-apocalypse — like a morning after pill when the room is spinning and everything is still a little fuzzy.

Perhaps the catchiest tune from of Kitsuné in recent memory, Two Door Cinema Club’s “I Can Talk” is a pleaser. Single out November 16th. Hat tip to @JoceWTF for pointing out the video.

The Bravery is back with a new single “Slow Poison” off their upcoming album Stir The Blood due out on December 1st. We have the “official premiere” of the Drop the Lime remix which takes the track and gives it a makeover with a bit of a Caribbean flare. The first half of the mix plays good homage to the original but the magic happens after it slows to a near stop, eventually letting the party take over a Sam Endicott vocal loop.

The video for Bot’Ox’s “Blue Steel” reads a bit like a car commercial, though maybe a bit spacier. Not a bad video but doesn’t matter, the song is where the magic is at.

Another artist steps out of the golden filter. Kinda wish Rockets’ “Golden Strings” had vox on it, but that’s not say it isn’t f’ing great as an instrumental. This is super disco, kinda reminds me of Chic “Everybody Dance” with a little bit of Donna Summer “Bad Girls” thrown in. This might be enough to bring back the hot summer nights:

Sure, Plastiscine is overtly cute… something you might secretly listen to on your little sis’s iPod when no one is around. And not only do they look like they were ripped directly out of the pages of Nylon Magazine, but they’re actually signed to Nylon Records. Butbutbut don’t let that deter you. The synth buildup on Lifelike’s remix of “Barcelona” is enough to warm even the coldest heart. This is to looking forward, a jam for the coldest nights.

Mysterious duo Acid Washed joined Record Makers to release their debut ep on November 23rd. The release features “General Motors, Detroit, America” and “Snake” with remixes from Gavin Russom (DFA) and Blackstrobe, respectively. Not quite sure if “General Motors, Detroit, America” is about the car industry or “just” six minutes of brilliant spaced out synth.

Baby Monster’s “Ultra Violence and Beethoven” proved to be quite popular last month — not only was it one of the most downloaded tracks of October but it also has become a personal fav. Let’s see if we can continue the trend with this new remix of “Ultra Violence and Beethoven” by Arveene and Misk. The track becomes a bit more dynamic floor friendly but never loses the heart of the original. A+

VHS or Beta dropped their guitars to put out “Feel It Like You Know.” Forget what you know about the band, this is pretty much a paint by numbers bloghouse banger circa 2007… a questionable tangent from their previous work, especially with the reliance of only one lyrical refrain. The original ends up sounding more like a remix than an original, perhaps a case of putting the cart before the horse. To drive home the point, bloghouse vets LA Riots were enlisted to remix the track. But the surprise here is that LA Riots deliver a disco-house influenced post-banger banger with all the right builds. Not too adrift from their previous work, but LA Riots haven’t quite shown off like this before. And it is exciting.

I entirely forgot about the whole blogging thing somewhere in the mess that was midterms & some gal spilling a beer on (and consequently frying) my computer while I was DJing & my glasses shattering. But now life is more or less back in order and I’ve got the itch to share tunes. And where better to start than with Drop the Lime’s “Set Me Free”? With a flippin’ Harvard Bass remix of the cut, of course. Fan Death’s new video for their next single “Reunited” is lolz brilliant. Follow Dandi after her truck breaks down on a musical journey through the countryside. I don’t want to give anything away so just watch.

The preview for Ssion’s film Boy finally popped up on YouTube earlier today. It premiered last month with a limited engagement at Grand Arts is Kansas City. Not sure where it’s headed next but hopefully it’s appearing in a city near you soon or, at the very least, on a dvd release.

Ssion have a few upcoming Texas dates or, if you’re in Europe you can look for them supporting Gossip on the road.

Vintage French band Space has been re-released thanks to Nang. It’s the best of Space with all its electronic glory! If you don’t know too much about Space, they sold over 12 million records across 4 album from 1977 – 1981, and they also wore Space suits when they played live much like a French duo many years later…… Nang’s sister label Tirk has all just done a special remix release of “Carry On, Turn Me On” featuring remixes by the likes of Bottin, The Time and The Space Machine, An2, and a low bpm funk mission from Architeq, check the synth that comes in at around 2 mins 46 secs mark. Kasper Bjørke is back with a new single off his upcoming new album. The video for “Young Again” is a beautiful nature piece. Or maybe it’s not the nature but the models painted in gold that make it beautiful. Or the cat with the acid trip projected on it. Anyway, beautiful. A syrupy track that wets my palate for more new tunes from Kasper Bjørke.
