While I was initially excited about this news as it sounded like a more modern version of the international versions of Big Brother, such as played in the United Kingdom, I do have some reservations upon thinking on how this will play out.

The biggest red light for me is that the release states “several times a week, viewers can watch a live online feed of the players…” What? Scheduled live feeds? This means that the contestants will know exactly when we will be watching them, therefore know when to be “on” and put on a show for us, not giving us a true grasp of who they really are as we’d get with 24 hour live feeds. This will give production much more power to show us what they want us to see on the televised program, therefore influencing our perception of contestants, giving us the dreaded “scripted reality” that’s become more popular with modern reality shows.

The Glass House will not have a host and I’m at a complete loss as to how this will work. I’m assuming it will have to have an emcee or moderator of some kind and I’m a little leery having a faceless voice telling us to “vote now!” A good host personalizes the show and gives it a human face where being presented with just a voice will give the show a cold, lonely feel.

Much of the success of this show will also have to do with casting. Are they going to give us real, unique personalities or are we going to get more of the same of what we expect from ABC reality. This is the network that brings us The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad after all. Though I’m not a viewer of these shows, I have seen the less than varied casts they’ve put out and one can hardly say they put much thought into giving us a diverse cast.

Lastly, I’m a little scared, after seeing the overblown popularity of Jeff and Jordan and seeing the results of voting Brendon back in the Big Brother US house last year, of giving the viewers that much power in the game. Effectually, this isn’t the typical cutthroat reality competition we’ve become accustomed to in the United States, like Big Brother or Survivor, but it’s instead a popularity contest. I don’t think any unique character of an alternative race, lifestyle or religion will stand a chance, but some dopey halfwit with a little charm will take the show by storm. That leaves little room for someone there to play a game and therefor will be as dull as dishwater to watch.

I’ll give it a shot since it starts about a month before Big Brother, but I’m sure once our usual summer obsessions premiers, The Glass House will fall by the wayside. If anything good becomes of it, it may light a fire under the Big Brother producers to stave off the competition and make some changes to a rapidly stagnating format.

CBS has the list of auditions on their casting website, but they keep randomly changing event details like the locations and times, so if you’re planning to attend any of them be sure to check and double check before you travel. Other Big Brother 14 sites are keeping up on the near daily modifications, so check out their list for the latest info.

If you’re lucky enough to make the cut then best of luck to you. Kassting Inc. has said they’ll be notifying finalists during the month of May, so hold tight and wait for that call!

If you want to be in the Big Brother house and join the 14th cast then now’s your chance. CBS has released the Big Brother 2012 application so you can grab the forms, check the requirements, and then start filling things out for your big break.

The same rules apply as all seasons: you have to be at least 21 when you apply, you have to be a US resident, and you have to be able to do better than last season’s pitiful endurance competition HGs!

If you’re bold and brave enough to fill out those forms then best of luck! We hope you get the chance to compete for the half-million dollar prize. It won’t be easy though. You’ve got to survive 90 days of isolation and possibly lots of Big Brother slop, so if that sounds like your ideal time to spend a few sunny months in LA, then go for it. Good luck!

This summer’s installment had the highest ratings in years so it’s great to know our favorite reality show continues to grow in its popularity rather than dying off like many older shows tend to do.

No word yet on what twists will be featured in the next go around, but I think most of us are just hoping for a solid cast of all new faces to compete for the half-million dollar prize.

Casting events for BB14 have not yet been released, but those usually take place in the spring around April and May. We’ll definitely keep you posted on all of those opportunities as CBS announces the news.

Are you ready for more Big Brother next year? It’s never far away!

There hasn’t been much action on the live feeds. Adam, in a last ditch effort, tried to resort to threatening that he could get the jury to vote how he wanted so therefor should be taken to the finals so he could forfeit the prize and take second place. Porsche and Rachel paid him no attention and unless one of those ladies has something sinister up their sleeves, Adam will be our last evictee of the season.

I’m calling our final two now: Porsche and Rachel. My gut tells me that Rachel will take this, and out of the three left, it is my opinion that she is the most deserving.

Porsche has won the 2nd part of the Final HOH Competition

This leaves Porsche and Rachel to fight it out in round three! Who do you want to win the final HOH? Need I ask?

The competition was called “Big Brother Mixer” and the houseguests had to stand on a giant mixing prong through a battery gook and not fall off.

Adam, true to form, was the first man down only lasting about 20 minutes. Porsche only upped him another 20 minutes before she dropped.

Rachel has won the first leg of the final HOH Competition

I am guessing that the second leg will be held on Sunday or Monday, with the final leg on the Live Finale, where the winner will instantly vote to evict the final housemate and pick who to stand with in the Final Two.

It’s now down to the wire, folks. Who do you wish to see standing in the Final Two?

Adam has nominated Jordan and Porsche for eviction. Porsche won the POV, and therefore Rachel will join Jordan on the block with Porsche being the only vote to evict tonight’s Live Eviction show.

I have some results from someone who is claiming to be at the taping and has set Twitter abuzz. The claims by Miss Cleo are as follows, but they will not be verified until tomorrow’s broadcast of the show on CBS.

• The POV Comp was hosted by OTEV, appearing this year as a giant shark. We know Adam won.
• Kalia is voted out, voting was a tie and Rachel was the tie-breaker vote as HOH. It’s unclear who voted to keep Kalia.
• The HOH Comp was a true and false comp with Julie asking questions based on the fortuneteller’s predictions. There were six questions asked.
• Adam won the HOH competition, not getting a single question wrong. Porsche came in last place.
• The Jury House gets very awkward when Shelly arrives in the house. Apparently Jeff let out so many expletives that he gets bleeped and blurred a lot.
• Kalia told Adam right before voting: “start playing like an all-star, not a fan!”

Again, these claims aren’t verified but several sources confirm that Kalia is voted out and Adam is the new HOH.

It’s now that tricky time in the game where the HOH’s power isn’t that relevant; it is the POV holder that has the true power. If Adam wins POV, he can control who remains on the block. If another player wins POV, they in fact control who is on the block and control the soul vote to evict. As of this point, I’m not sure where Adam’s head is or how he will nominate, especially if the above claims are true and if he voted to keep Kalia. Adam may now, finally, be playing for himself, in which case he may be wise to get a vet out of the house. Who do you think Adam will nominate this week? Tell me what you think!

Adam won the POV Competition.

The Baron of Beacon has all the power this week. It’s in his hands to keep nominations the same OR make a major game-changing move and take down a nom and force Rachel to put up Jordan. If you know Adam like I know Adam, he will turn his back at any chance to actually play the game or entertain us, so I believe that inadequate Adam will not us the POV and be taken along to final two by anybody that is left as guarantee a win. Unfortunately, this is a his strategy, to do absolutely nothing and win $50K in the process. Is Adam playing a good game? What do you think?
