It was another classic penthouse-to-the-doghouse scenario for Barrett this week on Big Brother 28. After riding high on securing his first HOH and having the chance to put all three of the Vets on the Block he coasted in to the week’s finish line to see his grand plans crumble around him as Angela went off to Jury while Dee and Devens stared him down in disbelief.

And sure enough, just as Dee warned him would happen, Barrett is right in the hot seat that they had warmed up for him the week before in his attempt to turn on his Crossover allies. I imagine in the long run Barrett will be satisfied with his move last week, especially when he’s out and hears all the cheers of how much many fans enjoyed seeing him finally putting the heat on the season’s untouchables. Alas, Dee was kinda right.

So now Barrett is in a tough spot. He’s on the Block and lost the Veto after doing an amazing job holding out for such a long period in that endurance comp. But when he lost to the week’s bigger target of Drew, well then he himself became the big target.

With his back against the wall, Barrett knows he’s got to start pitching some deals and offers but with little leverage he isn’t sure what he can offer. Overnight Barrett did a bit of camtalking and followed it up with Drew for a discussion of his ideas.

Walking the yard Barrett said he was considering going to Dee and Devens to pitch his own BB Bribe, just without the money attached. He would tell the Vets that he promises not to target/nom/renom them in his next HOH and they could have that for the low low price of $0.

Not only would he keep them safe, they could tell him who to target, who to vote out, when to jump, and how high! This would lead him to promise he’d be targeting Drew, Melody, Yash, and Taylor in effect since there is no one else left. But he’d also tell Drew that this was all a lie, no matter what Drew was hearing from the Vets at the same time.

And he does go to Drew with this plan. He explains it’s all he can think up and he wouldn’t really be going after Drew or the other Newbies. It’d be a lie to buy him enough time to turn right around swing at the Vets again.

I can’t imagine this is going to do much for him this week and what Barrett really needs is that Block Buster. He’ll be up against Taylor and Melody, so really this is this best possible matchup he could hope to have considering the alternatives in the home. Without that BBBB win, I expect Dee will gleefully evict her former ally just to say “I told you so.”

It’s Monday, which means it is Veto Ceremony Day inside the Big Brother 28 house! The return of the Pressure Cooker competition brought another deal into the mix between two of the Big Brother houseguests. The only difference with this one is that it isn’t binding like the BB Bribe deal Yash made with the Icons. Read on to find out what will happen at the Veto Ceremony for Week 10 of BB28!

Well, as we saw on Sunday’s episode, Yash won this week’s Head of Household, which was arguably the worst time to win a comp for him. However, he nominated the remaining members of FAP, Melody, Drew, and Barrett, with Drew being his primary target. Devens tried to convince Yash to target Barrett, but didn’t fight him too hard on this scenario.

Taylor was the only HG who didn’t play in this week’s Veto, which would have made the potential of one of the remaining Icons being used as a renom higher if she had won. If you have been keeping up with the happenings inside the house, then you know that Yash made a deal with Drew during the final minutes of the Veto. He made Drew swear that he wouldn’t vote Taylor out this week and that he wouldn’t nominate or renominate Taylor or Yash if he won HOH next week. When Drew agreed to this deal, Yash gave him the Veto win.

Thanks to the BB Bribe, there is only one scenario that can play out this week since Yash can’t renom Devens or Dee this week. Drew will use the Veto on himself and Taylor will become the renom at the Veto Ceremony. Taylor should survive the block this week because even if she loses the Block Buster and Drew goes back on his promise to Yash, that would force a tie and Yash would break it in her favor no matter if she is sitting next to Melody or Barrett when it comes time for the live vote.

Not sure this was the way Yash saw his HOH going, but he still has a shot at taking out one member of the trio.

Big Brother 28 has been the season of short lived deals and alliances. Sure, every season in the modern era seems to be driven by who can name the most ridiculous alliances and long gone are the days of core groups locking in and riding off into the sunset. Nothing lasts forever in the Big Brother house anymore, but could this latest partnership between Drew and Yash actually last just a few more days?

As part of the final hours of an impressively lengthy Endurance Veto competition on Saturday night the last remaining competitors were Yash and Drew. Once Barrett was out the two were left alone with the opportunity to make a deal. Nothing surprising as we see end-of-comp deals pitched all the time.

Drew wanted Yash to drop and give him the safety of the Veto. Now Drew has been Yash’s target for a while now so Yash agreeing to anything seemed questionable here. Later we heard from Yash that he had a lot of fuel left in his tank and thought he could keep going, but all the same Yash agreed and dropped out with a few stipulations.

Yash wanted Drew to keep Taylor safe in the vote this week, not nom/renom Yash in Drew’s next HOH, and keep this deal secret. Now like I mentioned before, I don’t expect Drew to vote out Barrett or Melody on Thursday over Taylor, but will Drew honor the rest of it?

Here’s the interesting part. I thought for sure once Drew was up and moving on Sunday he’d tell his Big Brother dad Devens. Nope! Okay, then surely he’d take this to his late-night talk sessions with Melody… Nope! Not even a mention to Barrett when they were trying to think through how Barrett could survive the week as a prime target for the Vets.

Drew didn’t mention a thing to anyone. So what about Yash’s side of that agreement to keep it hush? Same there. Now Yash has fewer allies remaining so fewer opportunities, but still he didn’t share this with Taylor nor did he leverage it with anyone else that he was trying to rebuild with for future security.

I’m surprised and impressed. Neither Drew nor Yash have spilled the beans on their deal. So does that mean Drew plans to honor it? I just don’t see him keeping Taylor over his FAP allies, but sure, I think he could be willing to keep Yash safe until he just can’t because of the small number of options remaining at this point.

Maybe the Vets kicked their pet Drew just too many times and he’s finally wising up that he needs to watch out for his own game at this stage. Case in point, Melody batting her eyes at Drew last night and asking him to save her with the Veto instead of himself. Drew chuckled and declined, but I think Melody knew that would happen.

This will be interesting to watch and see what Drew does next. If he honors the keep-Yash-safe part then that means he’s targeting the Vets over FAP (presuming Taylor does go this round). Barrett has said many times recently that he still wants to go to the end with FAP and Drew could be thinking the same. I’d sure rather go there with Melody than the Vets, but the same for not going there with Yash.

Yash will probably have bigger concerns come Double Eviction night though. If he survives that chaos then we can start talking more about what happens next from there for his game.

This Sunday, the Big Brother 28 Houseguests got to see a movie that most of them fought all night to see. It wasn’t about the movie, but the quest for the Veto. This battle left the final three completely sore, but it was a mostly lazy Sunday, as there was not much game left to play.

However, Yash and Drew made a major deal during the Veto Competition, and neither man has leaked it. This could mean that they may stay true to it, at least for a little while.

1:06 PM BBT – Devens rants his frustration about Melody to Dee. He thinks she should have congratulated Drew on his Veto win, and doesn’t think she has worked as hard as other players.

1:35 PM BBT – Feeds go down.

2:00 PM BBT – Feeds return. The houseguests got messages from home.

2:03 PM BBT – Taylor and Melody mention worrying about their mothers. They could tell from the videos that there was more that they wanted to tell them.

2:55 PM BBT – Melody and Taylor discuss Melody possibly trying to get Drew to use the Veto on her. They also talk about Yash nominating Taylor to not piss off Devens.

5:28 PM BBT – Barrett and Melody say that they now believe that the BB Bribe deal protecting all three vets was real, because Yash not nominating Devens breaks the ceasefire agreement.

5:32 PM BBT – Barrett and Melody talk about how Barrett’s big swing backfired. She says she doesn’t want to play with Drew, but may have to if Barrett leaves.

5:55 PM BBT – Barrett says to Melody that he doesn’t regret his move from last week. Melody says he shouldn’t. He still got out a vet and was the first to nominate all three.

5:59 PM BBT – Melody and Barrett discuss who they want to see win the game. They wouldn’t vote Drew to win in most scenarios. They think the game is Yash’s to lose at this point.

6:50 PM BBT – Barrett tells Drew that he will sprint out the house if he leaves this week. He will let the door slam.

6:44 PM BBT – Yash, Dee, Taylor, and Devens have a meeting. They agree that Barrett has to go if he doesn’t win the BB Block Buster.

7:25 PM BBT – Feeds go down.

9:48 PM BBT – Feeds return after the Focker-in-Law movie screening.

10:08 PM BBT – Melody pitches to Drew to use the Veto on her. She does it in a half joking way but mentions how he wasn’t a good ally to her all game.

10:42 PM BBT – Barrett walks alone in the backyard while working on his pitch to the vets.

11:14 PM BBT – Barrett gives Drew and Melody a preview of his Veto Ceremony speech. He will jokingly ask Drew to use the Veto on him. They all crack up laughing about it.

11:56 PM BBT – Devens, Drew, and Barrett discuss the Veto competition. Devens says he knew he couldn’t beat the other guys, but figured the alternative was to just go sit on the couch, so he kept trying.

12:15 AM BBT – Barrett tells Drew he doesn’t want to watch back anything from last week because it was so stressful and sad for him.

12:20 AM BBT – Barrett is frustrated that Dee says he didn’t get a Time Capsule because he was going against the Vets.

12:25 AM BBT – Drew keeps talking with Barrett about their chances of survival. He suggests to Barrett that maybe the Crossovers could stage a comeback. Barrett says he might have to tell the Vets that he’s coming after Drew, but it would be a lie.

12:30 AM BBT – Barrett is stumped that Yash would have sided with the Vets over the Newbies. He worries that Yash can comp out once they hit F5.

12:35 AM BBT – Barrett says he applied for 8 years to be on the show. This is his dream.

12:40 AM BBT – Drew and Barrett discuss all Devens has done in the game. Barrett says Devens’s resume is much stronger than Dee’s.

1:00 AM BBT – Barrett and Drew agree they are happy they got to be The Middlemen with each other and say it’s been an honor. They get up and start working on going to bed.

We only have a few Sundays left in the Big Brother season, so this is probably one of the more active ones left. Lots of reflecting on the season so far and you can hear the discouragement from Barrett, but his game isn’t over yet.

Barrett’s Head of Household reign did not exactly go according to plan. He wanted to take out one of the Survivor Icons, but Angela ended up going home instead, leaving Barrett with plenty of questions about where things went wrong. Now, with the dust barely settled from the eviction, the house is already moving on to the next HOH competition and target

Sunday night’s episode picks up right after Angela’s eviction. Dee is in tears because Angela is gone, but she is also emotional because she somehow managed to survive the eviction in the first place. Now, Dee is already making it clear that she wants Barrett gone for turning on the Icons last week. Needless to say, the tension in the house is very, very high.

Barrett, meanwhile, lets us know that he absolutely wanted an Icon to leave this week, just not Angela. His preference was to get one of the Survivor Icons out, so he is still trying to figure out exactly what happened with Yash and Taylor.

Dee is more than happy to explain what happened. According to her, she was actually out in the house talking to Yash and Taylor about the vote while Barrett was hiding out in his Head of Household room. So, yeah, it sounds like Barrett’s HOH was quite the failure. At least, that is certainly how the edit is presenting it. Drew even goes as far as calling it the “worst HOH ever.”

Devens and Dee are understandably very grateful to Taylor and Yash for keeping them around. They tell the two of them that they are locked in with that four. Good for Dee and Devens, although it is a little harder to understand why Taylor and Yash would want to commit themselves to working with the two Survivor players.

A lot of that decision, however, comes down to Drew.

Yash and Taylor agree that they simply could not trust Drew, despite the newbie ceasefire everyone had agreed to. From their perspective, working with the Icons was the safer move. And considering how the vote played out, it is hard to argue with the immediate results of that decision.

Now it is time for the Head of Household competition.

For this one, the houseguests have to use cowboy hats to catch water, filling up a trough so they can retrieve a floating apple. Whoever completes the task in the fastest time will become the new Head of Household. And because this is an individually timed competition, everyone has to beat the clock rather than directly battle it out against the other players.

Taylor is up first and finishes with a time of 11:58.

Yash goes next and finishes in 11:33, immediately putting Taylor’s time in jeopardy. She is officially out of the running.

Then Melody, Devens, Dee and Drew all take their turns, but none of them can beat Yash’s time.

That makes Yash the new Head of Household.

And suddenly, there is basically zero suspense about who the nominations are going to be.

Yash cannot put up Dee or Devens because of the BB Bribe, and there is no reason for him to target Taylor. That leaves Drew, Barrett and Melody as the obvious nominees. There really are no other options.

Honestly, we could probably end the episode right here.

But Yash decides to keep playing along with the lie surrounding the bribe. He tells everyone that he shook Devens’ hand and agreed not to nominate him. As a result, the house believes Yash is unable to nominate Dee, but Devens is still considered a possibility.

Of course, when Devens ultimately does not go on the block, you have to wonder whether everyone is going to put the pieces together.

There is one major caveat to what otherwise looks like a very straightforward week for Yash. If one of his nominees wins the Power of Veto, Taylor becomes the only option for a replacement nominee. So while the initial nominations may seem completely obvious, the week could get a lot messier depending on what happens at the veto competition.

But that is a problem for later.

For now, Yash has to actually make the nominations, and there is really only one way this ceremony is going to go. He sticks with the plan and nominates Drew, Barrett and Melody.

The targets are officially on the block, and now we get to see whether Yash can keep control of the week or whether the Power of Veto throws everything into chaos.

This weekend in the Big Brother house became unexpectedly a lot more exciting on Saturday with the debut of an Endurance Veto comp on the Live Feeds. I did not have that anywhere near my bingo card and that was a very pleasant surprise. Even more pleasant? HGs who showed up to compete and endure!

“But First” we had some interesting news with the HOH results and how that would play into the Vets’ Bribe situation just after they had lost their first member on Thursday with Angela’s eviction and departure for the Jury House.

Head of Household:
After weeks of Yash dodging his Bribe dilemma by avoiding becoming an HOH he decided this was the time to step up with a win in the latest HOH comp. We’ll see that one play out in Sunday’s episode but we’ve heard it was similar to one in BB25 where HGs had to catch water and fill a canister to win.

Yash took on his Bribe situation head on but still wasn’t willing to be totally honest with his fellow Newbies. So we know he can’t touch Dee or Devens this round either as an upfront Nom or as a renom, but how did he handle that news with his Ceasefire allies?

Nominations:
Yash admittedly likes to “lie, lie, lie” as he’s told us in the Diary Room and this situation was no different. After telling the Newbies that he was only restricted from targeting Dee he now had to work around the Devens part of this deal.

So when it was time for nominations, Yash told Barrett and company that he had a handshake deal with Devens not to put him up this week. But, why Yash? Well anyway, no one tried to poke a hole in that claim and so Yash got away with it, for now, and instead put FAP on the Block. Yep, it’s Barrett, Drew, and Melody up on the couch.

Power of Veto:
We knew this was going to be an Endurance Comp but never ever did I think production was going to let us watch it. So it was a huge surprise when I glanced up and there were the HGs standing in a circle holding sticks and trying to outlast one another.

The comp started on the Feeds around 4PM BBT but we suspect it had been going on a while before the Feeds came back. And this one was going for the records too! It wasn’t until nearly 3AM BBT that the thing wrapped up with Drew taking the win and a deal with Yash to make that happen.

Yash’s agreement with Drew was that Drew would not vote out Taylor on Thursday and he wouldn’t nominate or renom Yash in Drew’s next HOH. And for some reason Yash, who considers Drew to be his peak opponent, dropped out of the comp and gave it to Drew at that point.

So will Drew honor this deal? He hasn’t told the Vets about it yet (secrecy was also part of the deal) but I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t tell Melody at some point. But then does he really vote out Melody or Barrett over Taylor on Thursday? No way, right?

Veto Ceremony:
So of course we know Drew will use his Veto medallion to save himself on Monday and when he does Yash only has one single option: renom Taylor. The Bribe protects the Vets and everyone else besides Taylor has been nominated already.

Up Taylor goes and then we’re off to the Block Buster. Drew’s deal with Yash stipulates that he won’t vote out Taylor but I refuse to believe he’ll keep Taylor over Melody if Barrett wins the Block Buster. It’ll be an exciting night on Thursday though with whatever happens.

This was an exciting weekend of Big Brother 28 spoilers! We’re looking forward to the rest of Week 10 and then in a little over two weeks the season wraps up on finale night, October 2nd. Can you believe it’s almost over?
