The countdown is on for Big Brother 28 as the Houseguests have been gathered, final decisions are being made, and production is hard at work for everything to be just right. Who are we kidding, we’ll take “everything is good enough” to get a new season going. Either way, it won’t be long now!

In just 30 days the new season of Big Brother starts on CBS with a Thursday, July 9th premiere event with a 90-minute debut at 8/7c that night. From there the next episode arrives Sunday, July 12th at 8/7c for another 90-min show as well as on Wednesday, July 15th. Then for the rest of the season schedule we’ll drop back to 60-minute episodes on Thursdays and Sundays with the mega-episodes each Wednesday night for an hour and a half. Blerg. That’s a long Wednesday night each week.

Along with regular BB28 episodes we’ll also get the return of Big Brother Unlocked and I’d expect Derrick and Taylor to host again along with guest appearances throughout the summer. I imagine once they get contracts signed we’ll hear that news on who is behind the desk there.

And yes, we will of course have Live Feeds for Big Brother 28 with the cameras throughout the house and backyard capturing their every move. No pressure, future Houseguests!

CBS has released the Big Brother 28 schedule revealing when new BB28 shows will air this summer for the new season! No surprises here that we are getting three nights a week for the usual routine over the next few months. Keep in mind that CBS loves to yank this schedule around once things get rolling, but here’s what we’ve got so far.

Our new summer season of Big Brother will premiere on July 9, 2026 with a Thursday night 90-minute premiere and then the very next night will be the return of Big Brother Unlocked! No word yet on who will be hosting that sideshow just yet so probably safe to expect Taylor and Derrick again this year. Along with the Thursday night premiere and the Friday night Unlocked the next episode of Big Brother 28 will be the following Sunday with another 90-minute show. After that it’ll be 90-minute Wednesday episodes then 60-minute shows on Thursdays and Sundays.

Oh it’s going to be a busy summer for BB too because CBS promises “the most programming hours ever”, per Sharon Tharp.

Big Brother 28 Schedule:

• Thursday 7/9 @ 8 – 9:30 PM ET/PT – 90-minute Season premiere
• Sunday 7/12 @ 8 – 9:30 PM ET/PT – 90-minute episode
• Wednesday 7/15 @ 8 – 9:30 PM ET/PT – 90-minute episode

Yes, we can expect the return of the Big Brother Live Feeds, but no details yet on when that will start up for the season. Hopefully it’ll be right after the west coast broadcast for the July 9th premiere. Once CBS confirms we’ll get all that planned and ready for our regular full coverage of the Feeds too.

Get ready, because it sounds like Big Brother 28 news is arriving soon for the upcoming 2026 season! Big Brother journalists Sharon Tharp and Mike Bloom have been sharing a few teasers earlier today which should be a signal that we’re about to learn more on the summer ahead.

Last year around this time we received the schedule and Big Brother premiere date info, so I won’t be surprised if that’s the news ahead for us. When CBS does share the word we will be here to get everything posted for you as we ramp up for the new season.

After the season schedule gets set, which CBS is sure to change on us anyway, we’ll still be weeks away from the announcement of the Big Brother 28 cast. That’ll be just before the new season begins so try not to get pulled into any alleged leaks because it’s not likely anything accurate.

Any early predictions on BB28? I’d guess another early July arrival though late Sept / early October finale. And no, I don’t think we’ve got an All-Stars season ahead of us, but I do hope they go completely newbie cast this time around. I thoroughly enjoyed Rachel’s return last summer, but it’s time to go back to an all-new cast, for my preference.

The new season of Big Brother 28 casting is ramping up and underway as CBS’s team has announced online applications are open and reviews are said to begin in early February 2026.

Just like in recent years, your chance to be a Houseguest in the next season starts with an application through the official CBS Big Brother casting site. There you’ll find these steps on how to apply for Big Brother:

Step 1) Watch this video below from the casting director Jesse Tannenbaum:

Step 2) Record your video and get it ready to upload. You have the option to do it live instead of pretaped, but they recommend rehearsing and getting your submission video right. Your call.

Step 3) Make sure you have a recent photo of yourself along with the video so you can upload both.

Step 4) Fill out the official online application and then the anxiety-filled waiting begins!

Now if you are hoping for live, in-person casting call events then it’s entirely possible we will see some of those this year again. Ten years ago there would be a big stack of them waiting for you around the country but in recent years, for obvious reasons, things shifted away and never fully came back to open calls. If you never attended one it can be quite a fun time and even though I wasn’t applying myself I had a great time hanging around and seeing what all was involved years ago in a Washington DC open call.

And don’t forget, there are eligibility requirements to consider and the list is lengthy but make sure you are at least 21 years old and a US Citizen. Here’s a funny one, you can’t be running for public office, but I would guess because if you get picked it counts as airtime promotion that opens up a whole other nest of issues. Sooo, run for Congress next year instead, mkay?

Incredibly sad news in the Big Brother community as BB27 Houseguest Mickey Lee died on Christmas day following a series of cardiac arrests, a result of severe flu infection, per Mickey’s family announcement earlier this week.

Initial reports revealed Mickey was in the ICU after suffering multiple cardiac arrests and a GoFundMe page was set up by family and friends to support her care and hopeful recovery. Unfortunately just a few days later the news was announced by her family that Mickey had passed away at the young age of just 35.

Mickey Lee was the 8th evicted HG of Big Brother 27 and made big splashes in the game that season, notably taking over Rylie’s HOH with her secret power, and then turning on her ally Jimmy in a surprise move that same round of Week 4.

We also learned from comments made by host Julie Chen that Mickey had disclosed to Julie she health challenges after being born with a hole in her heart but no official word on how that may have been part of what led to her death.

The Big Brother community of her fellow HGs and past HGs came out in support of Mickey throughout the week and again in the news of her passing. Such a sad loss for Mickey’s family, friends, and the Big Brother fandom.

She’s back! Again. Rachel Reilly may have been eliminated from Big Brother 27 in the surprising White Locust twist but she is now set to return to The Bold & The Beautiful in an upcoming episode as a special appearance.

Reilly will once again be playing the appropriately named character, Rachel, as an “energy healer and spiritual cleanser.” The angle they’re joking with here is that she will be cleaning out a “toxic house.” I see what they did there.

Rachel will once again appear on CBS’s ‘The Bold & The Beautiful” in two episodes set to air on November 13th and 14th with filming happening now! As for anyone else from the Big Brother 27 cast? That hasn’t been reported just yet, so we’ll have to see what might be happening for the other HGs.

Reilly told EW, “I shook the Big Brother 27 house with boldness, beauty, and a touch of betrayal. So naturally, I’m stepping back into the Forrester world — where drama meets couture. As an icon, I serve both and couldn’t be more excited to be back.”

Amazingly, this will be Rachel’s 30th and 31st appearance on the series. She was previously on 29 earlier episodes between 2010 and 2014. Wow! Her husband, Brendon Villegas, appeared on ‘The Bold & The Beautiful’ 18 times and Elissa Reilly, Rachel’s younger sister and former Big Brother HG, has been on the series for 6 appearances.
