The Talk Co-Hosts Head Back Into the BB14 House!

The ladies of The Talk are at it again! They’ll all be moving into the Big Brother 14 house prior to it’s debut and will share what happened when they play the game, in fast forward, on an upcoming episode:

The “Big Brother” house is going to have some chatty new guests in residence prior to the show’s premiere in July. That’s because host Julie Chen and her pals from her day job, “The Talk,” will be moving into the lavish digs to film their own “Big Brother”-type competition.

“Late June as we are dusting off the ‘Big Brother’ house and before we throw the real houseguests in, the five of us are moving in and we’re playing a fast-forward version of the game,” Chen tells Yahoo! TV exclusively.

So how long will Chen and her “The Talk” co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Aisha Tyler and Sara Gilbert live in the reality show digs? “We don’t know,” teases Chen. “They’re going to unlock the doors and then…” Osbourne interrupts, “Throw away the key!”

It will be just be the ladies involved in the competition – they won’t bring spouses or children during their stay. “No, it’s just us,” says Chen. “We have to compete. No kids. No distractions.”

Well, maybe one. “I can’t bring Bella?” asks Osbourne, referring to one of her 10-plus dogs. “Okay,” Chen concedes, “but there’s going to be a penalty. You can bring Bella if you only eat slop.”

While details about the CBS cross-over are still being worked out, fans of the “The Talk” will get to see the footage this summer on the daytime series. “The premiere date of ‘Big Brother’ is July 12, so that afternoon is when you’ll likely see us and see how we did,” Chen says.

Big Brother 2012: New Big Brother 14 Commercial!

The Big Brother 14 premiere date is now less than two months away and CBS is busy finalizing the new Big Brother 2012 cast. We don’t have any new casting information to share with you quite yet, but we do have a new Big Brother 2012 commercial. It’s short, sweet and really just a little teaser, but we do get to hear host Julie Chen uttering those oh so fabulous words: “Big Brother is back!”

The Big Brother 2012 premiere date is set for Thursday, July 12. The show will air on Thursdays at 9PM ET/PT, and on Sundays and Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT. The Big Brother live feeds should kick off at 10PM ET/PT on premiere night.

CBS Sues ABC Over ‘Big Brother’ Copy ‘The Glass House’

While we wait impatiently for more news on Big Brother 14, we’ve been watching a fun little battle explode between CBS and ABC over an upcoming reality show on ABC called The Glass House. As we reported earlier here on BigBrotherAccess.com, The Glass House is a new reality show with a rather similar premise to Big Brother that will be premiering on ABC June 19.

The announcement by ABC about the new show had barely hit the press before CBS was already threatening them with cease and desist letters. Now CBS has made good on the network’s threat of legal action and filed a federal lawsuit against ABC over The Glass House.

CBS has formally filed a lawsuit against ABC to put a stop to production on The Glass House, which the network says is too close in format to their hit reality show Big Brother. CBS claims in the lawsuit that The Glass House violates its Big Brother copyrights and is being produced with secrets gleaned from former Big Brother staffers.

According to the CBS lawsuit, ABC is guilty of trade secret misappropriation, copyright infringement, unfair competition, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. All of that is a fancy way of saying ABC stole their idea and not only is trying to profit off of it, but is actually putting it almost in direct competition with Big Brother by airing it during the same time of year as Big Brother 2012.

CBS also claims ABC hired at least 19 former Big Brother staff members to work on The Glass House and believes those ex-employees have been busy spilling secrets about the show’s production that are supposed to be protected behind non-disclosure agreements. The show will also reportedly feature the ability for viewers to watch the contestants on live feeds when the show is not on, which has always been one of Big Brother‘s most attractive and profitable features.

“In copying Big Brother, defendants have had an unprecedented and troubling degree of access to CBS’s copyrightable expression, as well as CBS’s protected trade secrets and other confidential and proprietary information related to the behind-the-scenes development, filming and production of Big Brother,” the lawsuit states.

The CBS lawsuit is seeking an injunction against ABC barring continued production on The Glass House. ABC, meanwhile, issued a press statement firmly denying the accusations in the CBS lawsuit.

“The differences between Glass House and Big Brother are both fundamental and obvious,” ABC wrote in press statement, noting The Glass House has interactive and technological aspects not seen on Big Brother.

Big Brother 2012: Last Chance to Apply Online for Big Brother 14!

The deadline for casting online for Big Brother 2012 is Friday, May 11. That means you only have today and tomorrow to get in your online application for the chance to be part of this season’s cast.

Remember, Big Brother thrives on wild and kooky characters, so don’t be afraid to let your freak flag fly (just don’t let it fly too far…). Also, if you’re super hot, make sure you show off your swimwear… just sayin’…

The Big Brother 14 application website is easy to use and just requires you fill out a short form, provide a recent photo (not hats or sunglasses!) and have a video, three minutes and less than 30MB, to upload. The application has to be filled out in one sitting, so be prepared because you can’t stop in the middle and come back later. Check out the Big Brother casting website before doing your video if you still haven’t made it yet for some great tips on how to make a winning vid.

The deadline to submit your online application for Big Brother 14 is Friday at midnight, so hurry up already! We want to see YOU on Big Brother 2012!

Big Brother Alumni Janelle Pierzina Selling Wedding Dress on eBay

While casting for Big Brother 14 wraps up and we continue to wait impatiently for the debut of the Big Brother 2012 season in July, we like to check in now and then on our favorite Big Brother alumni from the past and see what they are up to lately. While scouring the Net for news, we came across this little tidbit we thought we’d share for anyone who might be looking for an odd bit of Big Brother memorabilia.

Big Brother 6 and Big Brother 7 alumni Janelle Pierzina is apparently not one of those people who believe in holding on to their wedding dresses and perhaps passing them on to the next generation. Or maybe she is just hard up for cash and will sell whatever she can to raise a some funds.

Either way, if you are interested in a genuine Big Brother alumni wedding dress, you can currently buy Janelle Pierzina’s Priscilla of Boston wedding dress on eBay for $2300. Janelle Pierzina just recently popped out a baby girl, so we’re sure she could use the extra cash.

In the eBay description for the dress, Janelle Pierzina says she purchased the dress in 2009 and “paid $10,000 plus $800 for alterations” for the handmade Platinum Priscilla of Boston dress that she only wore for a paltry three hours. Honestly, I have never understood the idea of spending $10,000 for a garment you are going to wear for less time than you spend watching Titanic.

The wedding dress was originally a size 8 but was later altered down to a size 6. She says in the description that she “felt like a true princess on my wedding day.” She is willing to take offers below $2300. She is also auctioning off her reception dress, another Priscilla of Boston creation.

Follow Up: CBS Threatens Legal Action Over ‘The Glass House’

Did you notice some of the similarities between our beloved Big Brother and ABC’s newest foray into reality television with The Glass House? Well so did CBS, which is threatening legal action against ABC based on “classic copyright infringement.”

Lawyers from CBS have shot off Cease and Desist letters to ABC and producers involved with the show because they find the format to be a clear rip off of Big Brother, which will be going into it’s 14th season this July. The Glass House is set to premiere in June and they are casting now.

“In the strongest possible terms, we must admonish ABC and anyone involved in the development or production ofGlass House that they will be acting at their own peril if they continue to proceed in this manner,” lawyer Scott Edelman of the Gibson Dunn law firm writes, “and that CBS has instructed us to pursue all available remedies if this course of conduct continues.”

It also turns out at least 18 former Big Brother crew members are now taking part in The Glass House and CBS is raising a red flag to that as well, saying those former crew members know insider secrets regarding Big Brother and could use those in the production of the new show.

ABC Debuts New ‘Big Brother’ Type Show ‘The Glass House’

Big Brother 14 will have some competition this summer. ABC has announced they will be debuting a brand new reality show called The Glass House on Monday, June 18. Like Big Brother 2012, The Glass House will feature a group of contestants who are locked up together inside a house and have their every move gawked at by a viewing audience while they compete for a quarter million dollars.

Unlike Big Brother 14, however, the competitors on The Glass House will have limited contact with the outside world. The viewing audience will have a chance to help their favorites with gifts of insight about the game from outside the house. Hmmm, kind of reminds me of the whole ‘sponsors’ thing in The Hunger Games…

Plus, viewers will vote on aspects of the game like what the players will eat, what they will wear, where they will sleep, etc. Voters will also help determine which contestants are sent home throughout the show and which eliminated contestants will be given a second chance to earn their way back into The Glass House.

Interestingly enough, one of the executive producers on the new show is Kenny Rosen, who was a story editor on the original first season of Big Brother in the U.S. and worked as a producer here and there on Big Brother during several other seasons.

Big Brother 14 Season Premiere July 12!

It was finalllly announced today by CBS that our newest crop of Hamsters will kick off the 14th season of Big Brother on Thursday, July 12 at 9 pm ET/PT on CBS.

Additionally episodes will air in the exact same sequence as last year, Thursdays, Sundays and Wednesdays.

Big Brother Alumni Raise Money for Charity at 2012 Reality Rally

Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas of The Amazing Race 20 were among a handful of Big Brother alumni who attend this year’s Reality Rally charity event held from April 13 to 15. The Reality Rally is kind of like a miniature The Amazing Race where teams compete against each other as they journey around doing oddball tasks.

The 2012 Reality Rally took place this year from April 13 to 15 in Temecula Valley, California and raised funds for Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Resource Center.

In addition to Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villeges, other Big Brother alumni participants this time included Michelle Costa (BB10), Michelle Noonan (BB11), Evel Dick Donato (BB8 & BB13), Adam Poch (BB13) and Lawon Exum (BB13). Fifty-five teams in total took part in the race.
