There are two essential things that I need to do to Be Fused. One is a complete redesign, because I really dislike the current theme. The second is to change the navigation and category structure.

I have been thinking off and on for some time about the best way to categorise the content. I am not happy with the way it works currently, but I don't seem totally happy with the alternatives.

A report on ZDNet has suggested that Open source will take over from mainstream IT within the next 12 years. It also predicted that 40% of IT jobs will come from the open source sector.

It has been quite a while since my last post. I would love to say it is because I have been spending my time in glorious sunshine at the beach. But if are living in the UK like I am, you'll know that that isn't the case. Sunshine? I can't remember what the sun even looks like!

I spend my working day with my head stuck in the dark inner workings of Drupal, which I love. I get so excited about technology like Drupal that I find myself selling it to random people who really couldn't care less. So I have come to accept that I am a geek at heart and I'm totally cool with that.

I thought it was about time I redesigned this site, after sporting a contributed Drupal theme for far too long. I built the new theme from scratch. I was keen to keep the site simple, with minimal colour and a strong head section. It is a CSS only layout, with the left navigation bar coming after the main content in the HTML, which is good SEO practice.

I was very saddened to hear the news this morning that Sir Edmund Hillary has passed away. It is hard to put into words my feelings for this man, but he is nothing short of a hero.
