Can I replace higher capacity Nicad with lower Nimh?

I have a solar string light who’s battery died. And it was a 600ma Nimh. I was wondering, since I have some extras lying around, if I could replace this with a 350ma Nicad.

I just don’t know whether the circuitry inside is set to trickle for the 600 or larger battery. Or if it’ll adjust to whatever capacity battery is put in there. So I thought I would ask.

Not a good idea, as the charger is tuned for the specific type of battery, and it’s capacity.

Switching type and capacity, who knows, without a complete analysis of the charger, what will happen? May work, but may kill the battery.

Is the H2SO4 in a charged lead acid battery more corrosive than H2SO4 in a discharged lead acid battery?

I am wanting to find out if the H2SO4 in a charged lead acid battery is more corrosive (higher pH) than the H2SO4 in a discharged one. Does the pH change at all?

As the battery is discharged both hydronium and sulfate ions are removed from solution, leaving the liquid more dilute. So the discharged battery has a higher (less acid) pH. (Higher pH does not correspond to "more corrosive". Higher pH means more basic, less acidic. The more acidic the lower the pH.)

Although a discharged battery is less corrosive than a charged one, it is by no means innocuous — it still needs to be treated with respect.

Can the Hydrogen created while charging a lead acid battery be feed to a combustion engine?

In a Diesel engine LPG is added to boost proformance. Could Hydrogen go the same, without expensive equipment? A Hybrid with lead acid batteries would produce more Hydrogen, maybe enough to make a difference.

There is not enough hydrogen coming out (and the pressure is low) so it would not serve that purpose.

Do some electronics not work with rechargeable batteries?

I have taken very good care of my camera. The batteries died and I bought rechargeable batteries. Now it just won’t turn on. I’m not sure if my camera just broke for no reason or if it’s the type of battery.
Yeah I charged them, they work on my other camera. I think my camera might just be broke.

I’ve yet to encounter a camera that can use AA batteries that didn’t perform better with rechargeable NiMH batteries. Did you charge them first?

I have some double A rechargeable batteries.Will they last longer if I wait until they are all the way dead before I charge them or does it matter.Any information will be helpful.Thank you.

If you let them discharge completely (die) before charging them again they will last longer. Try to take them off the charger as soon as they are completely charged, don’t leave them on the charger.

How much does a dell xps15 laptops gives battery life with a 6 cell and 9 cell lithium batteries?

I have asked this question before. But does not satisfied me. I need to know the above laptops battery life. When i checked the dell website, according to them the xps 15 of 6cell battery gives 5hours and a 9cell battery gives 8hours. Is it is really gives such a battery life or is the company is giving it as fake for marketing?

the numbers given are just a guess it depends what you are doing on the computer how long they will last. if you are burning a dvd and on the internet no time at all…

I got my mac about 6 months ago and already it only lasts about 3 hours on full battery. Is there any way I can increase my battery life with out having to buy a new battery? Thank youu!

Decrease screen brightness, and have the HDD spin down when possible. ( I don’t know if you can spin down a HDD on a Mac, it is possible on Linux, which is almost like a Mac.) Close unused programs, and background programs, close widgets if you are not using them. When not using it put it into suspend mode or hibernate.

I have a crosman m74dp and it runs on 4 AA batteries. I was wondering if I could modify the wiring to be adaptable to a normal 8.4V rechargeable battery in normal airsoft guns? Also if you have any modifying tips for this gun, for example: how to make it shoot farther and harder, that would be great because I already know that with a better battery it will increase the rate of fire.

I agree with the other guy, messing with the wiring is much more complicated than you have to make it, buying AA rechargeable batteries are your best bet. http://www.duracell.com/en-US/product/rechargeable-batteries.jspx is an example of the batteries

I have 2 1.2V rechargeable batteries and a 5V power source.
Will current be lost and will it damage the power source or the battery?
It is only charging at 5mA while the rechargeable is 800mAh

Depends on several varibles, like the current rateing of the charger and of the batteries. The 5 v is too high and can overcharge and overheat the batteries and shorten their life cycle. So the charging has to be monitered. People do use higher voltage chargers to "quickcharge" their bateries, but most of those are so called "smart chargers" and divert the current from the batteries when they reach full charge and indicate that charging is done. I don’t know the mahr size of your batteries or the output of your charger and as I am using a Casio Brigade in mobile mode, ( my computer is down at the moment so this is all I have) I can’t get back to a question once I post an answer so if you add later info I can’t use it. So all I can add is try it and keep checking the temp of the batteries. As soon as they begin to get hot to the touch, stop charging them.
