So, let’s say you want to create an article for your blog with 500 or more words. That time should depend on your writing skills and information you need to re-arrange into one post. Keep in mind that if you gather more information from more sources, you would probably create a quality article.

So, these are the numbers:

• 15 – 30 minutes to spend gathering and compiling all information you have found on the internet.
• 30 – 60 minutes to write an article from these sources.
• 10 minutes to check how it looks and correct mistakes if there are any.

So, you will need from 55 minutes to the hour and a half to create a quality article for your blog or a website. Of course, you can spend more or less – it is all depending on your skills in general.

Of course, you should need to take care about how much to update your blog with a quality article. Of course, if it is possible, try to post as much as you can. The more posts you publish per day, the more potential quality visitors (traffic) you would get for your blog.

It is recommended to place a slash “/” after that particular link to speed-up the process. This way, a server would already know that address is related to the directory and open it faster. So, in this case, link address would be like: http://www.bashbosh.com/about/.

Anyway, this would not give you the unbelievable improvement in speed. But when it comes to speeding up a website every small bit helps for sure.

Reduce HTTP Requests

When a visitor open your website every object on the page like images, scripts or css files are requesting to operate properly, causing your server to work. Those HTTP requests can drastically slow down your website response time. Specially, if you tend to use a multiple objects.

First thing you should do here is to reduce the number of objects on your website. Get rid of unnecessary images, JavaScript codes and CSS styles. You can also combine 2 or more object elements into one file like show on the below example:

With lower costs for equipment and software, anyone with a video camera could easily become a video blogger. In this section I would show you what every video blog should have.

First of all, you need to create a good and quality videos. Try to spend more time to create a quality video after recording. You should need to cover all aspects that your audience should expect from you.

Let’s say you have a software-related video blog. You would probably post more software reviews on your videos and less personal videos about yourself and your general opinions. This way you get more quality visitors from all the sources on the internet, letting you to grow and build your blog as a quality and effective one.

Second thing you should care is a video length. You should not create a too short but also a too long videos. In both cases you would loose your valuable visitors and potential viewers. I an a big fan of planning ahead. I like to plan what and when I am going to publish anything on my blog. By doing this, you will have plenty of time to research and write a top-quality articles for your blog.

How to Find a Good Post Ideas?

This is a starting point where we will try to find a quality post ideas for our blog. I do several techniques to find a good post idea for my blog, including the following:

• Browse Competition – You should browse through your blog competition. Try to find what they write on their blogs or sites and try to create a similar article – not the same. Try to find the most popular articles on these sites, this may help you to get your next post idea very quickly.
• Power of The Search – Try to search through search engines to find the most appropriate blog post idea for your blog. This is a very good and effective way to get an idea for your next blog post.
• Forum Boards – A very good way to find an appropriate and good post idea is to search through forum boards, similar to your blog niche. I use this technique regularly to find my next blog post idea. Popular forums has so much information and materials which you can use to produce a top-quality article easily.

These three methods are the most effective for me. I use some others, but these works just great for my blog.

Create a List

Now, when we have a few post ideas, it is a time to organize them properly. I do this by creating a list of the potential post ideas – with all information (links) to articles I have found useful.

I have to tell you that I use the Notepad application on Windows operating system to write down and save all my future post ideas. I use this application because it’s a very fast and a very effective.

On the above image you can see how it should look. Note that I use a title and a link to the source article, that can help me to develop that specific post.

The more post ideas you write, the more effect it might have on your blog. This can help you to have a new post idea every day. I currently have more than 60 article post ideas for this blog only. That can be enough for 2 months – if I decide to post 1 post per day!

Of course, you should try to update your post idea list every couple of days.

Use Online Services

You can use online services to make a list more flexible and effective. This is a good thing because you will be able to post ideas from the internet, using your mobile phone or other internet-enabled device.

There are a couple services on the internet that enable you to manage the list online. I would recommend the following online services which you can use:

• Remember The Milk – A very advanced and easy-to-use online to-do list and task management. Have application for iPhone or Google Android devices… plus much more.
• Ta-da List – Simple, easy, fast and shareable online to-do list application. Supports all popular web browsers and a few advanced but easy-to-use features.

I would recommend you to use some of the best to-do list managers to manage your post idea list online from the internet easily and for free.

A Blog Frequency

You will be more likely to respect your blog frequency if you write your articles in advance. Keep your loyal readers to know when you are going to update your blog is a very important thing here.

Creating a list of post ideas is the first thing you should do. But, of course it is just the beginning. Creating a quality article (unique and well written) can take much more time than that.

If you tend to update a blog once per day, try to stick to that schedule as much as you can.

During this month, I have reduced my blog post updates to more than 50% off! So, I am going to show you why you should or should not update your blog regularly. All information in this post are collected from my own accounts and they are based on mine experience.

How often to update a blog?

Many bloggers ask this question. How often to update a blog. Below, I will tell you which update techniques are the best for you and with which you get the more effect for your blog.

The best possible way is to force your readers to know when you are (and how much) going to update your blog. You should post at least 4-5 times per week on your blog. The more you post, the better effect your blog might get. Including the following improvements:

• More Traffic – Publishing more posts per day can guarantee you more returning visitors to your blog. Of course this may affect you to get more visitors in the general from all sources on the internet.
• Visitor Loyalty – If you update a blog more times per day, you might get more and more loyal visitors which would subscribe your blog and read it regularly in the future.

You should know that creating a quality article can take more time to write and publish. You should take this fact when you are going to determine how often to update your blog.

What is going to happen if you are not updating a blog?

Below, I will show you what is going to happen if you are not updating a blog regularly:

1. Less Traffic

I have discovered that my blog receive much less traffic in last 30 days. During this month, I did not have a time to regularly update my blog and below you can see the results of it.

Instead of constant improvements in the traffic, I have received 20% less visitors to my blog – compared to the previous month. Of course, this is not good.

2. Less Revenue

Traffic is something like your own virtual currency. The more visitors you get, more money or potential clicks to your advertisements you can make of course.

A traffic draw less productivity and effect for your own blog. This can affect your blog to get less improvements in your newsletter subscribers, RSS readers and even distract other readers to read and visit your blog regularly.

Visitors + Not Updated Blog

Visitors, or your blog readers do not like when they see that your blog is not updated regularly for sure. During this period I have received a couple of e-mails and direct messages through Twiteer where my readers ask me why I don’t want to update my blog anymore.

Of course, I won’t stop to update any of my blogs. I just don’t have a time for that at this moment. I hope I will get back on the track in the next couple of days. But for sure I will, all you need to do is to be a little patient about this.

Thanks to the advanced blogging systems, you would be able to create an advanced and effective blog for free, starting right now if you want. A signup process is very simple and it can be done within seconds. You should specially take care about your blog name, subdomain and your blog language. If you already have a name on your mind, you can check if it is available. Note that your blog will be accessed through this sub-domain name, for example:

NAME.wordpress.com

Now, you basically have a blog, which can be easily accessed through the above address. But it looks un-professional and a very basic blog right now. We are ready to go to the next step.

Customize Blog Options (approx. 10 min.)

Now, we are ready to customize our basic blog options. Including a blog theme, links, titles, categories…

Go to Settings > General in your blog dashboard. Here you can edit most basic info of your blog, including a blog title, email address, time zone, language and even update your blog icon (favicon).

Under Settings > Writing menu you can choose which category you are going to use as an default.

In Settings > Reading you can update some valuable features of your blog. Including how much you are going to show posts on your main page or RSS Feed, encoding type and even to setup the front page behavior.

Settings > Discussion Settings is one of the main options which you are going to update on your blog. Allowing you to update your comment system, enable or disable gravatar support and much much more.

In Settings > Media Settings you can change some basic information about your media file sizes. I would recommend you not to change anything in your Privacy Settings (if it is already changed to first option), because this feature determine your blog behavior with the search engines and other sources on the internet.

Now you should change your own blog theme, if you do not like the default one. That can be changed in the Appearance > Themes. I should say that you are able to use some very quality themes for free. This is the easy process and it can be done within seconds for sure.

Add Some Widgets (approx. 5 min.)

You can add some widgets to your blog, which can help you to improve your blog functionality.

Go to Appearance > Widgets and you will see all available widgets you can use on your own blog. Interface is divided into widgets and sidebar places. This is one of the easiest steps.

Everything you done here is processed and done without need to refresh this page, using drag-n-drop feature. You can find some interesting widgets here like Flickr, Meebo, Twitter, Box.net sharing and much more.

A very useful widget would be that Text widget where you can add some HTML elements into your blog sidebar.

Include your Blog on Search Engines (approx. 10 min.)

Now, when we have create a blog, it is a time to submit it on search engines to get some traffic.

The best way to add your blog to search engines is to add it manually on the most popular search engines on the internet like Google, Yahoo! or Bing (formerly Live search or MSN).

You can do that from the below sites:

• Add your site to Google
• Add your site to Yahoo!
• Add your site to Bing

There is no need to submit a thousands of time your blog. Search engines today would react fast and include your site within couple of days. Also, you should not add your site to other search engines on the internet, because these three above are the most important and can be a very effective for your blog.

You’re Done! Now Update it

It is a very important thing in blogging. If you update a blog every day, you might get more and more loyal readers and visitors from the search engines and other sites on the internet.

It is not matter if your blog is hosted on free-hosting service like wordpress.com, the most important thing are articles (posts) on your blog! If you tend to create a quality articles and manage to publish them regularly on your blog, your blog success is almost guaranteed.

Of course, an ebook is much harder to create than a blog article. An average 30-pages ebook has 4000-5000 words, depending on font size and ebook design.

Also, you will need a professional ebook creation software if you want your ebook to look professional.

Step 1: Get an Idea

Of course, the most important thing here is to know what are you going to write about in your ebook. It is important to carefully clear which concept you are going to use in your book. An ebook is not a blog post, but also it is not a blog. So, it is important to know that at the beginning.

Carefully pick up one category of your blog and choose what are you going to write about. Also, do not try to copy contents from your blog – it is the least and less effective method for sure.

Step 2: Share It!

It is important to tell your loyal readers that you are going to write an ebook for them in the following weeks or month of time. It is amazing how this deadline can motivate you for work.

Share your thoughts and ebook title on your blog. Providing your readers the outline of your ebook. Make sure they know what are you going to write for them. It is good to share this post on all yours social media sites like Twitter, Facebook or a newsletter to get the maximum effect.

Try to draw your readers in when they read your outline on your site. This may help you to get a few quality and effective subscriptions for your blog and some valuable loyal readers as well.

Step 3: Research your Content

Now, it is a time to research your ebook content. It is a very important step where you should look for the related information, compose and put that info into your book content. Of course, do not try to copy-paste any of the text from other sources – try to say that in your own words.

This is one of the most time-consuming steps in a ebook creation process. Usually, if you spend more time to research that particular topic, an ebook would be more quality and effective at the end. If it helps, try to think about this as some kind of connection between your book and other sources on the internet.

While researching, you might find some new and valuable concept ideas and opportunities.

Step 4: Write an Introduction

Before you are going to write your ebook, it is important to write down and introduction part of your ebook. There you should tell your readers why you are writing this book, what did you expect, how much time you spend in the development and all other information that can be related to your ebook.

This is a step where you need to draw your readers (which have downloaded your ebook) to read it through. Try to convince them to read it and keep them announced what they can learn from it and what did they get. A quality and informative introduction is very important in the ebook development for sure.

Step 5: Write it Down

Of course, this step is the hardest and the most time-consuming step here. You need to merge down and compose all collected information into one piece. Make sure to take your time while writing, do not copy-paste information from other websites or a blogs.

Also, it is important to know that you probably would not complete a whole ebook in one day. If you want to write down a quality and effective ebook, you need to give yourself a much more time to finish it correctly. Writing down a quality e-book should not take more than two weeks for sure. I talk about 30-50 pages ebook.

Your outline is important here. Stick strictly to it to avoid any problems in the writing process. The outline can help you a lot to develop and finish your work correctly and right on time.

Step 6: Add Some Graphics

Once you have write all your book, it is a time to find an appropriate graphics elements to place it within content of your ebook. There are many ways to do that, including the following:

• Graphs – provide graphs to show your readers some stats about problem you are solving in your ebook.
• Diagrams – explain more complex problems in your ebook with diagrams.
• Illustrations – needs to be related to your ebook content and term which they refer to.
• Quotes, highlights – put out a quoted and a highlighted text easily visible in your ebook.

Do not try to place too much images in your ebook just to improve your ebook page quantity. It is good to place only related illustrations, graphs and images within your ebook.

After all, you want your readers to read your book – not to look into it!

Step 7: Re-Check Everything

Now, when the hard-part is over, we are ready to take the next step. Here, you will need to check everything you have written so far and look out for mistakes and a problems.

It is a good time to check all your images, captions, quotes and everything else included in the ebook. Take yourself a time to check this carefully. More time you spend checking, the more quality ebook would be.

Step 8: E-Book Format

The text part is over finally. Now it is a time to format your ebook correctly. Make sure to format your headers, sub-headers, footers… correctly. This option is easily accessed through Styles and Formatting menu of MS Word. Other word processors might have this feature included too.

It is important to choose a right and modern font styles that would be easy-to-read for your readers. Take care to use an appropriate font size and style of your content too – not only the headings.

Here is a time to place all elements into your content. This includes bold, italic, underline and other formatting styles. Also, if you want to link some text, it is a right time to do this.

Step 9: Table of Contents

Now, your ebook should look more professional. It’s is a time to create a table of contents of your ebook. It is a necessary step where you tell your readers where all information are placed.

Make sure to use a simple and modern-styled table of contents. Including all headers and sub-headers included into it. I do not prefer to use a tables here, but you can do this if you want.

Step 10: Make your Cover and Publish it!

Well, now it is a time for the last and the most enjoyable step – Creating a cover and publishing your ebook on the internet. You might need to have some kind of professional cover design software to make your work look professional. Creating a nice and pro cover can increase your book downloads.

When you have write all down, you need to convert that document in PDF format. It is the most popular format over the internet with great compatibility and support for all popular operating systems and platforms.

If you already have a Microsoft Word 2007 version, the latest Service Pack 2 for it allows you to easily convert your created documents with Word to PDF. I have to tell you it works just great! If you do not have this Office 2007 version, you can easily convert them using specialized online tools for free.

After that, all you need is to keep your readers informed about that through your blog or a website!

You should care to place a links only to no-follow places. Unfortunately, most internet websites and services actually have this attribute checked, making your site not-followed by search engines.

6. Link to your Posts

Do not over do with linking to your own posts on your blog pages. Link to your own posts can automatically improve your visitors loyalty and performances on your blog. Making them to browse all way through your blog from the single post. You should keep your links as much related they can get to get the maximum effect.

Include links to your key posts in your sidebar and a blog homepage can improve your post effect. Just make sure not to post too much own links in your contents.

I have spent more than two years of active blogging and I can tell you why SEO is important and what differences it may apply on your blog or a website. Most webmasters and bloggers try to overload search engines with un-necessary information and data, but they do not have a good and quality content to cover all that up.

I have say couple of times on this post that “search engines are smart enough”, well, they really are. Think about Google, the most popular search engine on the internet. They already own a couple of quality services that may help them to discover which contents are quality, and which are not like: FeedBurner, Google Reader, Gmail, Google Analytics, YouTube and other services helping them to gather the most quality data and information.

Today, many traditional SEO methods are much less important then they where a couple of years ago. I can say for sure that today, the most important factor is to create and develop a quality article – there is no better way to get better rankings on search engines other this way.

Not to spam other people and be filled with unnecessary and unwanted messages messages daily!

Most Twitter users which enable this feature thinks they’ll get a thousands of followers in relatively short time! There is no service on the internet which allows you that!

Final Thoughts

As from now, I have decided to drastically unfollow a Twitter followers I do not want to follow. So, I have officially disabled this feature on my own Twitter account.

I have done that only because one thing – to use a Twitter more effectively. I like this service and I would not let anyone to distract me using it. And from now, I would post more quality tweets (not auto-generated) on my account.

Twitter becoming one of the largest and most popular places among spammers. I hate spam, so I have do this because of them too. From now, I would only follow these I want to! I have release that I would get a much more effect with this technique and method for sure.

As soon as an idea comes to me, I write it down into a computer and start to research on the internet. I try to find an interesting and quality articles, similar to mine.

This is a very important for the proper article development. Yes, it can take some time to find some quality articles about that specific topic but it can be very useful. I always tend to read as much as possible articles, from multiple sources to ensure a top quality article for my blog.

2. Power of the Links

Be sure to place as much quality link sources for your articles. Your readers would like to see some other opinion and thoughts while they are reading your own articles.

Links are a very powerful here. Use your article to promote your older posts about a same topic. This way you can get more functionality and productivity of your articles for sure.

3. An Exciting Introduction

First impressions are very important in a blogging. If you can not pull the reader in during a couple of first paragraphs, you are probably not going them to read the whole article. It is a very important step on the article creation process, so it is important to take it very seriously.

The mail goal here is to sell the article. Try to create a quality, informative and useful introduction for your articles to ensure the maximum effect from it.

4. Use Paragraphs

This step is also a very useful and productive. You would need to expand each point of your article with a couple of paragraphs. After an introduction, I usually post couple of important paragraphs for each new aspect or point of my article. First I add the h4 tags as a paragraph title, following with h3 tags as subhead.

Using these tags are very useful. Your readers would read your article much more easier than without them. Also, they will be able to find an information they are looking for much faster on your article. Search engines recognize these tags too and that is just one more reason to use them on your articles.

5. Illustrate your Article

After the writing, It is important to take care about media contents of your articles. Readers likes to see some illustrations, photos or videos embedded into the article.

Try to attach at least one illustration to each article. This may attract your readers to read more further. You have to admit that articles without any images or multimedia files are quite boring.

I always try to position the image in the article header, so it can be easily seen while reading the article. Creating an attractive images may draw visitors to read a whole article.

6. Article Optimization

Under this term I mean that you need to optimize your articles to be much more effective and productive. Take care about all above steps. Where do you put your images, which links to include and where and how to create a paragraph are just some of the questions you will need to solve now.

Optimizing your articles you can get much more effects with them. Getting your readers to read your article with more comfort is one of the most important factors in the article development process.

7. An Article Title

An article title is a very important factor here. It is specially useful for the search engines like Google, Yahoo! or Bing. Your article titles will be displayed in the search engine results pages (SERP). Creating a quality and unique article title can guarantee you visitors from the search engines.

A lot of bloggers create a foolish mistake when they come to the title decision. They put a lot of effort to create a quality article and they ruin it with an old and already presented titles. This is one of the most common mistakes that bloggers do unfortunately.

8. Meta and Description Tags

Meta description and keyword tags are very important for the search engine optimization of your articles. If you are using a Wordpress as you main blogging system, it is useful to create up to 10 different tags that will describe your post. Make sure that your opinions and thoughts flow smoothly between points. It is a good time to check again for some spelling mistakes. Remember this: The more you go over your article, the quality of it will be better.

Masking an affiliate link can be a tricky business, but it can be done for any website or a blog system. Here, I will show you the most popular and most effective ways to mask your affiliate links. I will concentrate more on the popular blogging systems like Blogspot or Wordpress, but some of these techniques can apply on any website.

Main Difference

Most of you would like what is a difference between non-masked (original) and masked affiliate links. An original affiliate links usually has a long and not-friendly URL. Most users, which are able to see the targeted link, probably would not click on it. An experienced users can easily discover where is that URL pointed at (non-masked).

A main difference can be shown on the below example.

Original Affiliate Links (example):

www.youraffiliatesite.com/aff/linkid=294357382394_j42

Masked Affiliate Links can looks like:

www.yoursite.com/aff

www.yoursite.com/go/aff

Please note that these links shown above are just used for the example. Masking an affiliate link can improve your click-through rating and sales/leads for your affiliate partners. If you mask your affiliate link properly, even an experienced user could not discover what is behind it – until he or she clicks on it of course.

Masking your affiliate links can easily force all potential visitors to click on them, excluding the option for them to manually change or edit your targeted URL.

How to Mask your Affiliate Links

There are many ways to mask your own affiliate links, to successfully improve and boost your click-through rating and earnings through affiliate networks.

Redirect through .PHP File

You can use a simple redirection file with your own link inside to automatically redirect and mask your own affiliate links. After applying this trick, your redirection file would look like http://www.yoursite.com/go/link

This is one of the easiest ways to redirect your affiliate links. I have to note that this trick can be applied on almost any website or self-hosted service. Below, I will show you how to do this in a few simple steps.

• Create a redirection folder – You should create a redirection folder where you are going to place your redirection files. This folder is usually placed in your root-directory. Note that you can create any name you want. I would go with creation of yoursite.com/go/ folder.
• Redirection file – Now, you should create your own redirection file. Open your html editor (notepad would work fine), and add the following lines in it.

<? header("Location: YOUR-AFFILIATE-LINK"); ?>

You should change the YOUR-AFFILIATE-LINK with your own full affiliate link, starting with http://

• Save and Upload the file – All you need to do now is to save and upload this .php file on your website folder, created on previous step. You should place a name for this file, related to your affiliate name. From now, you can link anywhere you want to your affiliate link. It will be nicely masked and user-friendly.

You should know that you are not required to place these files on the folder. To remove the /go/ part in your links, all you need to do is to upload them directly into your root-directory.

Redirect through 301 Redirection

Another very effective and one of the simplest ways to setup an masked affiliate links is to do it through the 301 redirection from your htaccess file on your site root folder.

You should note that’s not recommended for the amateurs. Some valuable settings may be included in your htaccess file, so you need to be a very careful changing it.

Anyway, all you need to do is to add following code in your htaccess file:
Redirect 301 /name http://your-affiliate-link
And it’s done. Now your link yoursite.com/name would link to your affiliate link.

Redirect through URL Redirection Services

Today, here are a many quality and useful URL redirection services on the internet. Thanks to the Twitter, the URL Redirection services becomes so popular and well-known places on the internet.

Of course, you can use these services to automatically mask your affiliate links to shorten ones:

• TinyURL – One of the oldest URL redirection services on the internet.
• Doiop – A very simple URL redirection service which allows you to choose a name for your links.
• Bit.ly – A simple URL shortener with opportunity to track your link clicks.
• is.gd – Another very popular URL redirection service on the internet.

All above URL shortening services on the internet can mask your own affiliate links (or any link you want) easily and completely for free. You should try how they works on the practice.

You should look for the redirection or affiliate-related plug-ins available for your Content Management System as Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal. Most of them have a good and quality plug-ins that will try to mask your links easily.
