Does your toddler like to read? My daughter is constantly asking me to read her a book repeatedly, over and over again! She has even started to read books on her own, that now I will usually ask her to read to me as well. I am constantly looking for new books and things that interest my daughter, so I was thrilled to come across the National Geographic for kids.

Hey Babieebabiee! It's that time again. So a few weeks ago my cousin was telling me about a show called Frances! She was telling me how her daughter easily adored this children's television show. I remember seeing it once or twice before she mentioned it, but never really watched it like that until our talk. So the next day I flipped to on-demand, put Frances on for my daughter, and she just absolutely loved it! I just love the positivity and loving reinforcement this show brings to the table. Especially Frances with her me myself time :-) How cute! If you haven't seen it click on Russell Hoban's children's book turned into animation Frances! Enjoy :-)

New Health Care Bill Passed(Really Worth The Read)!!!

On December 24Th, this past Thursday Congress approved the new health care bill to guarantee that everyone would be able to get health care insurance. This is the first time since 1895 that the Senate gathered to vote on Christmas Eve. While some are for the bill a lot of people are up in arms about it. Here are two sides/opinions regarding the passing of the bill. To read them just click Aipnews and NY Times. Under this bill there are claims to be free abortion, check-ups, visits to the doctors when they are sick.

Weird Baby News!

Ok everyone so today's segment of weird baby news comes straight out of Asia! A couple of years ago a nine month pregnant lady was traveling from Tai Dong to Tai Pei. Apparently the woman went to the bathroom while in labor and gave birth to her baby, who was accidentally flushed down the toilet! Thankfully the baby survived. To read the full story click here.

Christmas Left Overs!

Good morning!!! As I stated yesterday I hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas! So today I wanted everyone to feel free to tell me how your Christmas went. What you did, who you spent it with, and so forth :-) All day I will be sharing moments that me and my family had during this past holiday! In the meantime here are some Christmas moments that I had with my little one while she was opening her gifts. Just one of the many happy highlights!!! Of course I'm the one behind the camera.

As you all know Nickelodeon as well as other stations are always coming up with new shows for kids! Today I wanted to talk about Nickelodeon's new show called the Fresh Beat Band. The Fresh Beat Band consist of four band members, Shout, Twist, Marina, and Kiki. They talk/sing about friendship, love, manners, etc... And they have a very good message behind every show! I personally think this show is perfect for kids of different age ranges. My daughter just loves this show as she knows almost all of the words to their songs. But as usual I would like to know all of you guys take on the show. Do you like it? Or not like it? Discrimination on Stay At Home Mothers?

While most mothers enjoy being a stay at home mom, they are also often discriminated for being a stay at home mom in more ways than one. Mainly regarding their return into the working world. Former stay at home mothers are either paid an unfair wage or just doesn't get the job at all! Not to mention some of the negative talk from people who realize that they are a stay at home mom. People often think that stay at home moms aren't educated and so forth. Which is definitely NOT TRUE! If you are a stay at home mom or a former stay at home mom. Good Morning! I thought a good way to start off today would be with an Energy Boost! Most parents at the end of the day are usually so tired that after all is done they flop right into bed! Well here’s an energy booster for you today. Even though you definitely may not feel like it get up and do at least five minutes of exercise as you may know by now that any type of exercise gives you more of an energy boost! Also try eating some blueberries today! Blueberries are great! Rich in antioxidant, vitamins, and minerals! They give you a very healthy portion of carbohydrate to keep your energy levels up!

This week's family fun getaway is Santa Catalina! Only 22 miles from Los Angeles is a great outdoor family fun vacation spot! My Baby Rhymes! (Shelley's Story)

Hi Tecolia, my name is Shelley. I have a 6 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. My 3 year old daughter is very smart and active. However she hasn't begun to fully talk yet. I was a little concerned so I took her to the doctors. To my surprise they said she's fine! I didn't believe them so I got a second opinion, same results! My question to you is do you have any suggestions on how to encourage my daughter to speak, I'm getting frustrated. My son didn't have to this problem he was talking full blown sentences by two! But I have to say he doesn't have the potty down still at age 6! HELP!!!!!!

Hello Shelley! Yes I can see that you are a bit frustrated. First you need to let that frustration go because it will only make the situation worse. Then I would suggest that when you and your daughter are out and about, make it a learning experience, an adventure! Ask your daughter questions like "Do you see the green tree?" By doing so you are teaching her what she is seeing, you are getting her familiar with everyday objects and life! Also did you know that rhyming is a great way to encourage your child's language development? Rhyming helps to boost auditory memory, and develop rhythm. So get ready to start rhyming and preferably whip out those Dr. Seuss books! As they are a great tool for building vocabulary!
