Great news for bloggers and website owners!!! Here is something you have all been waiting for. With authorSTREAM you can now embed PowerPoint presentations on your blogs and websites without worrying about the flash/non-flash status of your viewers.

In the past, we received umpteen queries from bloggers and website owners like you who uploaded presentations on authorSTREAM platform, embedded the flash files on their site and blog but the viewers on non-flash devices like iPad and iPhone were unable to see it.

Therefore, in a prompt response to your requests, we are thrilled to announce a new non-flash embed feature that will play across all devices- flash or no flash.

With this feature, you can now choose between two embed codes while embedding PowerPoint presentations- the previous Flash code and and the new iPad embed code.

Flash code- Same as before, this code perfectly plays presentations with animations, rehearsed timings and sound on your viewers’ Adobe Flash supporting browser but is incompatible with non-flash devices.
iPad embed code- This code, when embedded on your blog or website, will not only play on your viewers’ flash-supported browser but also on non-flash devices!

But here is a word of caution! The presentation embedded using iPad code will only play as static slides sans animation, rehearsed timings, sound or media. So, we recommend you use iPad embed code only if you have a presentation without the special media effects or if you have no qualms with a static output on your blog or website.

Oh Wait!!! The best is yet to come. Our Engineering Team is working on a new and dynamic intelligent embed feature that will automatically detect whether your viewer is on a flash or a non-flash supported device and serve the presentation accordingly. Movie buff 1: I’m so excited! The 85th Academy Awards are just around the corner. I’m sure Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ is going to sweep the Oscars this time.

Movie buff 2: And what makes you say that?

Movie buff 1: Well, it’s based on one of the most significant chapters in American history-the abolition of slavery. The story, the treatment, the characters…it’s an epic in totality.

Movie buff 2: Dude, relax! ‘Argo’ deserves it more. Not only America but the entire world was shocked when an Iranian mob stormed the US embassy and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. Moreover, it’s definitely more thrilling and exciting to watch than ‘Lincoln’.

Movie buff 3: Guys, give it a rest. Neither Lincoln’s assassination nor the Iranian Conflict gripped the globe as much as did 9/11 and then the capture and murder of Osama Bin Laden. ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ is undoubtedly the movie of the year. There is no beating that!

Movie buff 4: Now, common guys. I think it’s time the Oscars take a break from the stereotype routine of honoring legends and historical tales. I root for ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. Oh boy, what an entertaining movie! So light and well directed, it keeps you hooked to the screen all the time.

Movie buff 1: I still say Lincoln should win the best movie award.

Movie buff 2: No, Argo should!

Movie buff 3: Zero Dark Thirty!

Valentine Special: A love saga that will touch your heart

Secret meetings, confessions of love, forbidden to marry and daring to elope… the love story of Pyramus, the handsome youth, and Thisbe, the fairest maiden in all Babylonia, was the perfect love story tinged with tragedy.

Like one soul in two bodies, they were truly, madly, and deeply in love with each other.

Only a cracked wall separated the two households and through the gap, the loving words, reached those willing ears. With a kiss planted upon the wall on their sides, they would exchange their goodnights.

But how long could such secret meetings continue? Giving way to the longing in their hearts, the lovers planned to elope into the darkness of the night. They decided to slip into the fields and meet each other at the foot of the mulberry tree near the fountain.

Thisbe ventured out stealthily wearing a veil and was the first to reach the agreed meeting place. All of a sudden, out of nowhere a lioness with jaws dripping with blood of its last victim approached the fountain to quench its thirst. A horrified Thisbe fled and took refuge in the hollow of a rock. Her veil however fell behind and the lioness picked it up and tossed it around with her bloodied mouth. A delayed Pyramus reached the spot only to see the blood-soaked veil of her beloved maiden. Shattered and woe struck, he cursed himself for causing the death of his lover. "My blood also shall stain your texture," said he, and drawing his sword plunged it into his heart.

Thisbe came out of her hiding place and saw what Pyramus had done.

"O Pyramus, what have you done?" she cried out loud. “Thy own hand has slain thee, and for my sake. I too can be brave for once, and my love is as strong as thine. I will follow thee in death, for I have been the cause; and death which alone could part us shall not prevent my joining thee." And with these words she took out the sword from his chest and cascaded it into her breast.

The two bodies thus lay buried in one sepulchre, and it is said that the white mulberry tree soaked with their blood continues to bear red berries till this day to honor their love and sacrifice. The love story of Pyramus and Thisbe continues to inspire lovers all around the world.
