You can either put google calendar in a new page nor as widget, using plugin. I use wpng-calendar plugin. It is very simple and easy to install. But in the net we can find a lot who can’t successfully do it. I myself had a hardtime to get it, in fact the solution is so easy. I use wordpress 2.7.

First, of course, download the plug in from this page. Extract it in your local computer and upload to /wp-content/plugin/ directory.

Then go to the admistrator panel of your wordpress blog, activate it. It is under menu “Plugin” –> “Install”

You have to set the plugin, through menu WPNG calendar plugin, under “Setting”.

This is the setting you should do:

• Google GDATA API key: Go to this link to get it.
• Google calendar feed. Go to your google calendar, click “Setting” -> tab “Calendars”, on your calendar, edit “SHARE” and check the box of “Make this calendar public”

• Go to “calendar details” and get your calendar feed there by click the XML button and copy the address pop up. Paste the address in in the “Google Calendar Feed” in the setting menu.
• This is my final setting and it works fine.

I have a program that runs based on the database in mapped drive X:

To run it in my local computer, I have to have a drive X:

This is the simple steps to create the virtual drive, instead of create a new partition :

1. Create a folder you want to make it as the new virtual drive, example : C:\newfolder
2. From Start -> Run, type “cmd”, for getting the command prompt
3. Type in the command prompt subst X: “C\newfolder” -> Enter
4. Go to My Computer and you will see the new drive X: is already there.

That new drive will disappear when you restart the computer. To make it automatically created everytime start up, do this steps:

1. Open your program Notepad
2. Type subst X: “C\newfolder”
3. Save as C:\autoexec1.bat (or whatever the name you like)
4. Click Start -> Run, then type regedit -> Enter. This will open the Registry Editor.
5. In the left pane, click on: My Computer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Run
6. While “Run” is selected, go to the right pane and right click in the empty space. Click New, then select String Value. Type Autoexec1 then click Enter.
7. Right click the newly created autoexec1, and click Modify. Type C:\autoexec1.bat
8. Close your Registry Editor, restart your PC and that’s all.
   

I have Clickbook installed in my computer. In beginning it was ok. I don’t remember anymore when the problem started.

Everytime I start Microsoft Word, it always ask me to enable/ disable macro – with warning of Expired Certificate of clickbook. In the security setting, Bluesquirel (producen of Clickbook) was already listed as trusted publisher.

The dialog box showed as in the image, has “always trust macros from this publisher” greyed. Everytime starting Word, I have to click enable or disable, whatever, then it works without problem. But of course it disturb very much.

My solution is, going to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 11\Startup\ then I delete a file named cb.dot

After that, no more annoying macro alert.

The script and the database in joomla, principally are “connected” by database username and password. It is not user and password of Joomla. When you install joomla, you would be asked to create the database username and password. Afterward, you would almost never use it again; usually we forget it.

You can easily find and edit the database username & password in configuration.php; also in joomla 1.5; the difference only the variable name.

In joomla 1.0, you can find : “$mosConfig_user” -> this is database username, and “$mosConfig_password” for the password. This two in not encrypted, and should be the same as it is set in the MySQL.

There are some online facility for this purpose, such as in http://trial.3bview.com/3BTrial/pages/opendoc.jsp; www.media-convert.com or in zamzar. Up to now, I prefer google document. Upload your .odt document then save it as Microsoft Word .doc.

If you want to do it in your local computer, use SUN ODF plugin for Microsoft Office. Download it here; save it in your computer, then double click. Let it do the job of installing by itself. After installing, if you open Microsoft Word and click “open”, browse the “Files of type” and find it .odt; means now it supports .odt. Then you can save as Microsoft Word doc if you want.

To download the plugin, you have to register. It is free.

I ran SuperAntiSpyware and found threat “Registry Cleaner Trial” in the Registry entries :

Several times I have tried to clean up using SAS, but it always came back.

So, I go to “regedit”, by Start -> Run-> Regedit.

I found the entries :

HKCR\O3_auto_file
HKCR\O3_auto_file\shell

I did right click and click “delete”. It didn’t work.

Tried to do the easiest way, using a software called  “RegASSASSIN” produced by Malwarebyte.com, but it failed to delete it.

No way, I went back to “regedit” and try do do it manually. What I had to do is change the permission to my account.

Right click and click permission, then “Advance”, you will find this in the dialog box:

This is the steps brought me to success:

• select “shell” in the registry – right click -> permission -> advance, tab “Owner” then change owner to mine.
• I did several time without any success, but suddenly came out another entries under the “shell” : they are “open” and “command”; So now they are exactly the same as were shown by SAS scan report.
• I went to the lower one, i.e. “command”, and try to change the owner. It was not easy, it was written like this :and I couldn’t do change owner. So I went to another tab -> “Effective Permission”, and put my account to have the full control permission.
• Then I could change the owner, add my account for full control permission -> so that finally I could delete the particular entry.
• I did it in the similar way to HKCR\O3_auto_file\shell\open; HKCR\O3_auto_file\shell and HKCR\O3_auto_file\ (no need to use “Effective Permission” if I could change the ownership without problem)

The message comes out everytime closing Microsoft Outlook Then, it open Microsoft Visual Basic showing the error library.

The same error message comes out also every time starting Microsoft Word.

If I open MS Word -> tools -> templates and add-ins, I saw two add- ins; it is from “Power Translator”. Several months ago I uninstall the Power Translator program and delete all remained files. At that time, there was no problem. The error message came out after the user had done “update” the Microsoft Office.

What I did to solve the problem is, I open folder My Computer -> Program Files -> Microsoft Office -> Office 11 -> Startup.

I deleted two files in the Startup folder: PTWRD32.dll and Powertranslator.dot

In the beginning, it started up as usual. After not more than one minutes, it produced noise and the video gone – replaced by strips.

Try restart again, it’s even worse, the video didn’t appear at all. But sounded three beeps after turned on.

This is the solution:

Remove the RAM from the slots. Take off the BIOS battery. Clean them all. After more than 30 second, put back on their place. Restart computer.

I just experienced a problem with Power Supply in a PC. After solved the problem, I can share my conclusions from that experience, that this symptoms can be caused of failed Power Supply:

1. Suddenly the computer can’t be turned on. You can see a small light in the board/ card means there is electricity coming in, but if you push the power button, it doesn’t work. The PC keep sleeping.
2. The PC can’t boot, keep restart and restart
3. If the power supply isn’t failed totally, you can reinstall windows but it can’t boot, keep restart continually. The installation would be failed. So, if you replace the power supply with the good one, you have to reinstall the window.

If you see the fan of the power supply doesn’t run, for sure the power supply is failed. Sometimes the power supply only fails to supply the correct power. To check the condition of a power supply, you have use multitester and check the voltage output.

Basically, the yellow cable should give 12 V and the red one should give 5 V. There are a lot of article in the net about it. One is in this link.

Otherwise, you can try put the hard disk in other healthy PC. If it works there, it means the problem is not in the hard disk.
