Desta vez recomendo a sua utilização para o estudo das &lt;strong&gt;configurações electrónicas&lt;/strong&gt; (seleccione Orbital), bem como para o estudo de inúmeras propriedades dos elementos químicos (seleccione Propriedades), como o &lt;strong&gt;raio atómico&lt;/strong&gt; e a &lt;strong&gt;primeira energia de ionização&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p align="justify"&gt;À medida que vai percorrendo com o ponteiro do rato os vários elementos, a distribuição vai sendo feita automaticamente, sendo possível seguir a aplicação do &lt;strong&gt;princípio de energia mínima&lt;/strong&gt;, do &lt;strong&gt;princípio de exclusão de Pauli&lt;/strong&gt; e da &lt;strong&gt;regra de Hund&lt;/strong&gt;. Também considero muito bom o facto de mostrar a &lt;strong&gt;forma da orbital&lt;/strong&gt; em que é colocado o último electrão, bem como os &lt;strong&gt;números quânticos&lt;/strong&gt; que a caracterizam. Esta técnica é muito utilizada para identificar o ião positivo existente num sal puro. Os iões negativos, em geral, não interferem nesta análise (é conveniente que os sais a analisar sejam cloretos, pelo facto de serem mais voláteis).&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Quando os sais são aquecidos, os electrões dos átomos podem ser excitados, ocorrendo então uma absorção de energia e os electrões transitam para níveis superiores de energia. Quando os electrões regressam ao estado fundamental, libertam energia sob a forma de radiação. É essa radiação que dá a coloração à chama que se vê no filme abaixo. Alguns elementos emitem radiação na região visível do espectro electromagnético, sendo possível, em alguns casos, identificar a presença desses elementos através da coloração que conferem à chama. Resolvi fazer-lhe novamente referência e aproveitei para colocá-lo no &lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/AtomoEMeio" target="_blank"&gt;canal do Átomo e meio no Youtube&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Este pequeno vídeo mostra-nos o que é a variação de velocidade e a aceleração de uma forma bastante interessante.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Com o carro parado&lt;/strong&gt;, a aceleração que o lançador imprime faz com que a bola varie o valor da sua velocidade de 0 km/h para 100 km/h (27,8 m/s).&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Com o carro a deslocar-se&lt;/strong&gt; a 100 km/h num sentido, o lançador volta a imprimir a mesma aceleração na bola (que também se está a deslocar a 100 km/h), mas agora a &lt;strong&gt;aceleração opõe-se ao movimento - tem sentido contrário ao da velocidade&lt;/strong&gt;. O resultado é o que se verifica no vídeo, o valor da velocidade da bola passa de &lt;strong&gt;&lt;font color="#ff0000"&gt;–&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;100 km/h (&lt;em&gt;atenção ao sinal de menos&lt;/em&gt;) para 0 km/h e a bola fica momentaneamente suspensa, caindo na vertical. Uma bola de golfe é apontada directamente para o macaco e, quando disparada, corta a corrente no electroíman, provocando a queda do macaco. No entanto, quem tiver alguns conhecimentos de Física por certo responderá que o macaco e a bola se encontram. É isto mesmo que sucede.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Intuitivamente poderíamos ser levados a pensar que a bola passaria sobre a cabeça do macaco visto a elevada velocidade com que foi disparada. Contudo, a gravidade afecta ambos os corpos da mesma forma e acelera-os igualmente para baixo, o que faz com que o macaco e a bola se encontrem. Não adianta disparar a bola com maior velocidade. Não importa a velocidade vertical com que é lançada. Isso apenas afectará a altura que atingirá e o tempo que permanecerá no ar. Como as velocidades horizontais de ambos são idênticas, durante esse tempo deslocar-se-ão a mesmíssima distância horizontal. Se desprezarmos a resistência do ar, então cairão ao mesmo tempo. Parece impossível? Após fixar os valores pretendidos e clicar no play, observe a forma como o corpo se move ao longo da sua trajectória e analise os gráficos posição-tempo, velocidade-tempo e aceleração-tempo. &lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;Nesta simulação (&lt;a href="http://simulfq.blogspot.com/2009/11/queda.html" target="_blank"&gt;fonte&lt;/a&gt;) pode estudar o movimento de duas bolas. A &lt;font color="#0000ff"&gt;azul&lt;/font&gt; não tem velocidade inicial, mas tem a aceleração que lhe atribuir. A &lt;font color="#ff0000"&gt;vermelha&lt;/font&gt; tem uma velocidade constante. Explore a simulação, analise os gráficos de cada bola, faça previsões e teste-as. Se já tiver conhecimentos para isso, estabeleça as equações do movimento para cada um das bolas e calcule quando é que as bolas se encontram, o tempo que necessitam para chegar ao final, o tempo que necessitam para passar a metade do percurso, o tempo necessário para que a bola azul atinja a velocidade da vermelha, etc... Os pontos marcados ao longo da trajectória são igualmente espaçados no tempo, o que permite concluir que ambos têm a mesma posição vertical durante a queda, donde têm a mesma velocidade vertical em cada instante, pelo que também deverão ter a mesma aceleração vertical. Permite controlar as várias variáveis em jogo e considero que a sua exploração possibilita uma compreensão bastante eficaz deste fenómeno.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Clique na imagem para iniciar a simulação.&lt;/strong&gt; Necessita de ter &lt;a href="http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp" target="_blank"&gt;JAVA instalado&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;Os &lt;strong&gt;alunos&lt;/strong&gt; que irão realizá-la na aula devem &lt;a href="http://phet.colorado.edu/admin/get-run-offline.php?sim_id=146&amp;amp;locale=pt" target="_blank"&gt;descarregar a simulação&lt;/a&gt; &lt;em&gt;(ficheiro &lt;strong&gt;photoelectric_pt.jar&lt;/strong&gt;)&lt;/em&gt; para o computador, pois poderão não ter acesso à internet. Como é óbvio, &lt;b&gt;será necessário um estudo prévio&lt;/b&gt; sobre o que tem vindo a ser falado nas aulas, pois caso contrário sentirão dificuldades. Sei que esta recomendação não era necessária, pois já todos se prepararam para amanhã. (…) &lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Javier Gorosabel revelou, por seu turno, que a luz da estrela que se finou viajou pelo espaço desde um tempo em que ainda não existiam nem o Sol, nem a Terra.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Alberto Fernández Soto complementou que, com isto, se comprova que &lt;strong&gt;há 13 mil milhões de anos já existiam estrelas&lt;/strong&gt;, algo que até agora não passava de uma hipótese, e se conclui que &amp;quot;a formação dos corpos celestes foi mais rápida do que se pensava&amp;quot;. (…) &lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Para proceder a estas análises, os cientistas recorreram a dados obtidos por vários telescópios colocados em diversos pontos do mundo, entre os quais o da estação espanhola BOOTES-3, situado na Nova Zelândia, e o telescópio Nazionale Galileo, operado por italianos e localizado na ilha espanhola de La Palma. Coincidentes com o projecto global &amp;quot;Noites de Galileu&amp;quot;, as próximas observações serão dedicadas à participação nesta iniciativa do AIA 2009. Estas decorrerão nos&lt;strong&gt; dias 23 e 24 de Outubro e terão lugar no Edifício Central, entre as 21:00 e as 23:30&lt;/strong&gt;.      &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Nesta sessão serão realizadas &lt;strong&gt;observações (acompanhadas por palestra) com telescópio do planeta Júpiter e das suas luas.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Serão ainda observadas &lt;strong&gt;estrelas&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;enxames&lt;/strong&gt; e &lt;strong&gt;nebulosas&lt;/strong&gt; da Via Láctea. Nas gigantes vermelhas pelo menos até ao oxigénio e nas supergigantes vermelhas até ao ferro.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Mas é no ferro que termina o caminho usual da fusão nuclear. Então de onde é que vêm os elementos mais pesados do que o ferro? Os elementos mais pesados do que o ferro são produzidos nas &lt;a href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernova" target="_blank"&gt;supernovas&lt;/a&gt;: explosão tremendamente energética na fase final das estrelas &amp;quot;grandes&amp;quot; (de massa superior a oito massas solares).&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Neste vídeo da série de ciência &lt;em&gt;Origins&lt;/em&gt; da &lt;a href="http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/" target="_blank"&gt;PBS Nova&lt;/a&gt; (&lt;em&gt;Science Programming on Air and Online&lt;/em&gt;), &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_deGrasse_Tyson" target="_blank"&gt;Neil deGrasse Tyson&lt;/a&gt; conta-nos a história dos elementos.
