We have two album launch shows to announce also. Friday Feb 1st we are in London, at Jamboree in Limehouse, with a show in Bracknell at South Hill Park Arts Centre the following night (2nd Feb). All details in the gig section of the website.

We’ll be updating the site with much more album info and adding to the gigs for next year in the coming weeks.

The promotion of the album starts tonight (10th Dec) with a radio interview on the Sue Marchant show. The show goes out across a number of BBC stations, however it is broadcast from the studios in Cambridge.

First we are in Leytonstone on Friday 16th Nov at Lost Horizons Folk Club. We'll be headlining this event, at the Heathcote Arms - on at about 9.30pm. £3 on the door. This will be our new bass player Becky's first full set - exciting times.

Then, we are very pleased to say we have been invited to do a spot at Winterfest, taking place at our favourite London venue - The Bedford in Balham on Sunday 25th Nov. This is a free entry show and if you haven't been to this venue yet - come along, it is incredible! We're due to be on at 10pm for this one.

We look forward to seeing some of you at these upcoming shows!

Bass player number 4...

And so bass player number 4 is in place. First there was Jim, then there was Ben, followed by Ian.. and now - Becky!

Yes folks - what better way to freshen things up after 5 years together - bring in another chick! We're now like the Fleetwood Mac of the folk world, although none of us have aspirations to present the Brit Awards anytime soon, and there is unlikely to be any inter-band relationships that end acrimoniously only to inspire a multi platinum selling album - although we'd take the last bit.

Becky applied to our ad for a new bass player suggesting we should try trombone instead. An interesting prospect, and when delving deeper, we realised that she played bass as well. What an amazing find. Becky comes in to the band with a fantastic musical background performing many different styles, and also has to travel nearly as far as Gethin for rehearsal - so is massively committed as well - brilliant.

We want to welcome Becky in to the band, and have already confiscated her passport so she can't leave for the USA.

In other news - we've finished recording! The first mixes of a number of tracks have now been done, we're having a listen and making any final tweeks before we sign them off as worthy of public scrutiny. We think we will have the whole album mixed and ready for pressing by mid October - which is really exciting.

We have tentatively scheduled the release for February 1st 2013. We did discuss the idea of getting it out before Xmas, however have decided to give ourselves a few months for duplication and getting it out to the press etc before official release. Why rush when it's taken us this long already!

Slowly but surely over the next few months we will be building the album promotional gigging run, where we hope to get to as many towns and cities as possible, as well as begin to line up a few festivals for next year. Please keep an eye on the official site for news on shows, and album launch plans, which will be confirmed in the next month or so.

Here we go then - 3 years in the making, and we're almost there!

Cheers

Hope summer is treating you all well. Most of us have been away on holiday throughout August so all has been quiet, and we're struggling back into our daily routines, but we thought we'd send this mail out now so we don't go months without an update again, as has become almost customary with us and something we're trying to rectify!

We are now really starting to heat up with regards the album. The finish line is in sight as all the tracks are now recorded and apart from the odd additional musician and last few touches here and there – we'll soon be in the mixing stage, which as any musician who has gone through this process will know is the time when you really have to start thinking about the bits and pieces before launch – i.e. duplication, album launch venue plans, distribution and album promotional tour, amongst many other things.

All of these are now on the horizon and some speculative enquires being made. We have as good as decided on a title, are close with the album art work and have started getting the promotional activity booked up, with at least one BBC session already confirmed for later this year.

We are hopeful that the record will be done and available before Xmas – with the timelines we're working to, it's certainly doable, but lots of hard work still to come.

For now though, here are a couple more snippets from songs from the new album – all unmixed, but will give you an idea.

As you will know, we had to say goodbye to our second bass player within a year recently, when Ian left for a career in the USA. Well, we 'think' we have found his replacement. Early stages yet, and much more will be revealed soon, but we're confident we won't be a 4 piece for long!

However, if any of you wish to see the classic ATC line up in a rare reunion, come along to The Proud Galleries in Camden this Sunday (26th August) where Ben Halls will be returning to play bass with us while he's on a 3 month holiday from Uni in Boston, which is quite frankly far too long (that's the US educational system for you). We will be doing 2 afternoon sets (roughly 4pm and 6pm) – one inside the venue, and one in the garden. Hope the weather's alright. This will be a free entry show, and as it's the bank holiday weekend, there is no better excuse for Sunday beers. Lots of other acts playing that day so it should be fun.

Anyway – watch this space as there should be a fair bit to announce in the coming weeks. We as always thank you massively for your support (this sort of thing would be a bit pointless without it) and apologies in advance if we hack any of you off with the upcoming promotion!

Cheers!

Before launching in to the main bulk of this mail out, we'd just like to announce we have a London show this Friday, 8th June in Hammersmith at The Regal Rooms.

This is a free entry show at what is one of (if not) the best showcase acoustic nights in London. The quality and atmosphere is always really high, and so anyone who is in the London area and at a loose end on Friday, please come down to this – you won't regret it.

Anyway – now for the big news!

Bass players – an annoying breed. Generally quite reliable, do the things you want them to do, but also seem to have very high aspirations that only seem to take place in the USA...

So yes – here we are again. Last summer we said goodbye to Ben, off for a writing career in Boston. This summer we'll be saying goodbye to his replacement Ian, off to undertake some secret MOD mission in Washington DC.

What are the chances...? Irony is just not a strong enough word.

We'd like to thank Ian for his time in the band. With him we've gigged a total of 6 times, and written two songs for the album. It's been a slow year, but in that year he has come in, learnt the stuff, helped us write some more and been an extremely affable chap to have with us. We also would like to wish him all the best in the USA – we know it is a massive career boost to him.

So the search is on again – but instead of stopping, waiting and employing a new player this time, we've decided we cannot hold fire with this project for a second year. We have Ian until mid July, and then if a player hasn't been sought by that point, we'll consolidate as a 4 piece to continue gigging until the right player comes along. We have had a real resurgence in the last 6 months with the album and gigging, and we don't want to stop that again.

We have looked at a couple of players – one is promising, so watch this space for an announcement. We are only seeing bass players who don't hold a passport, so escape to the USA will be unlikely.

Other than that, we are still soldiering on with the album and are just about done with recording, so we're close. Tentative plans will be to release later this year – October/November time, and then to gig it extensively next year. As with us over the last couple of years – all plans are subject to change, but that is what we're aiming for.

As you saw at the top of this mail, we're still gigging and have a couple of nice ones coming up including a return to Crawley Folk Festival which was outstanding last year, and a show with the Our Friends Records guys in Kingston, which is always fun.

We thank you all for your patience while we're going through these line-up changes and finishing the record. I'm sure none of you are losing sleep over the fact we haven't released anything new in 3 years, but we really want it to be worth the wait – and we think it will be... we hope it will be!

See you all in London on Friday!

Cheers

I think in the last one we wrote to let you know we are still just about plodding along, and I guess this is a very similar one – however it's pleasing to say we at least have a couple of live dates coming up in the next few weeks!

On Easter Monday (9th) we're making our second appearance at The Bedford in Balham. A better free night of music in London we've not found – and the globe like theatre venue is an absolute pleasure to play. This show is free entry, (did I mention that already?) with music kicking off at around 8pm. Check out more details. We of course strongly urge you to come along!

On Wednesday 25th April – we're making yet another appearance at what is rapidly becoming our second home, Jagz in Ascot – as part of a charity night to raise awareness of the closure of Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. Those local to the area will know how important this place is – so this is something we're happy to get involved with, and it's also a good opportunity to see a whole evening of great music, taking place all over the venue. We'll be on sometime after 9pm – on which stage is still TBC.

Then – Saturday 28th April we're doing a show at Folking Live, which is held in The Cellar Bar, South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell. Folking Live has become in the last 3 years one of the top roots showcase events in the South of England, bringing together both local talent, as well as the best from the London circuit, and further afield – including quite a number of international artists touring the UK. This event will be headlined by one of the top London acoustic acts – Laveer. We'll be on about 8.30pm – and our appearance has absolutely nothing to do with the fact Phil and Adrian run the night... we're there purely on musical merit, we promise. Tickets £7 on the door for this.

The 28th April also sees us return to the studio. After a number of months taking stock of what we have already put down for the difficult second album, we've now all had a good listen – made the changes we wanted, and are now in a position to start recording the final couple of songs that will complete the record.

We are not far away with this – and although we've been saying it for god knows how long – we WILL have this album out this year. For your listening pleasure (we hope), we have a few snippets of stuff we have been working on – just to show you all we aren't lying! You can hear them here:

So that's about it. Would be great to see you at any of the upcoming shows. Let's face it – most of you will have forgotten what we sound like – so what better way to reacquaint yourselves.

Cheers

ATC

Last minute gig on Friday

We've added a last minute show to our slowly growing roster of gigs, this Friday (3rd February) in Camberley, Surrey. Well we’re pleased to say that all concerned are doing very well. Baby Robert seems remarkably good so far, so credit to him. Emma seems to be taking to motherhood like she takes to most things – extremely smoothly and as if she’s been doing it for years. She’s even had time to start dabbling in a completely new musical project, alongside the good ship ATC. Who says parenting is difficult!

Our now former bass player – Mr Ben Halls, is we believe doing well for himself in his new home of Boston (USA, not Lincolnshire). We can’t confirm this as we have barely heard from the bloke nearly 3 months after he departed – but we hear these things on the grapevine.

The big news for us is that we have started working with a new bass man. Ian Greening is an extremely affable chap, a very good bass player and seems to like folk music, which is always a plus. We’ve so far worked on some of our old material with him, as well as working on the last bit of new stuff we need for the album, and all is going swimmingly so far, which is good. We’d like to welcome Ian to the fold, and hope his stay is a happy one.

So, plans are slowly beginning to be put in place to actually get back gigging. We have missed it badly, but know we need to make sure we are 100% ready before venturing back out. In the next couple of weeks we will start to name a few dates for early 2012 – which we will no doubt keep you posted about. There is currently a slow burning urge to get a show in before Xmas, but with the album being the absolute biggest priority currently, this will likely be a last minute thing if it does happen. We will of course give you as much notice of any shows as possible.

The album is starting to sound great. We are now finishing off songs and can start to visualise the finished product. We’re still a fair way off, but the plan is to have the recording finished by February, and it being ready to be duplicated by March/April, ready for a May/June release. There’s a few exciting things in the pipeline including working with a promotions company to help push the record, along with some big shows we’ll be lining up.

So, as another taster of the new album, we now have a really nice bit of video shot at one of our favourite nights, The Icarus Club in Hither Green, London. It is footage of the song 'Grasslands', which will be appearing on the new record, and it was recorded back in the summer. Head over to the video section of the website where you'll find that, and a few other older ones you may not have seen. It's worth 10 minutes of your time we think!

So, that’s about it. So, we thought it time for a quick update as the long hot summer (?) draws to a close.

At the end of July we said a fond farewell to Ben, our bass player for the last 3 years - who has now departed these shores for the sights and sounds of Boston, Massachusetts. He's quite blatantly forgotten about us already as he's not replied to any e-mails we've lovingly sent asking how he is - but there you go.

We'd like to thank everyone who came along to see Ben off at our last gig, and also go on record in wishing him the best of luck. It was (mostly) a pleasure working with you good sir.

We're currently making arrangements with regards the bass player position, and hopefully can announce something soon.

Those of you who saw us live for the few shows we did over the summer months may also have noticed Emma had put on a little weight... Well, we're delighted to announce that she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy last weekend, a couple of weeks ahead of schedule! 7lb 2ozs, and the little scamp goes by the fine traditional name of Robert Lee Baldwin. You can always trust a guy called Robert I think.

All our love and best wishes go to her and Darren.

And then there were three (well, Emma's hiatus will probably last about a week knowing her).

The three of us are back in the studio this week for continued recording. We still have lots to do, but we're getting there with the new record. Some of it is close to completion, which is a great place to be.

So, as we've been suggesting for ages, we've uploaded one of the new album tracks to our players on our various websites. Unheard Sounds and Empty Motions has been in our set for ages now - but have you ever heard it with Gethin's backing vocals...? Let us know what you think. It may not be the final mix - but its pretty close.

So there we go. There is no time frame of when we'll be back fully up and running - but I imagine we'll start to get a bit itchy to go out and do some shows pretty soon, so keep your eyes peeled for some news on that.

Hope you're all well

Cheers

ATC (abridged...)

Reminder - Ben's last gig

Hello all,

Just a quick reminder that it's Ben's last gig with us on Friday. Well, that’s not really the big news, but it is certainly news-worthy. Let us know what you think at the upcoming gigs.

The ‘big’ news is this. As many of you probably already know, Ben, our dependable, reliable and downright perfect bass player for the last 2 and a half years is off to the United States, to study – not just to eat loads and watch copious amounts of football, although that will no doubt happen in the first year at least.

He leaves us at the end of July, and we’re very close to confirming his ‘farewell’ show – which will hopefully be at our album launch venue, Jagz in Ascot on Friday 29th July. We will obviously provide all details once this is 100% sorted, but it would be great to fill the place, so note the date!

This however obviously leaves us with a big gap to fill, and that isn’t a jibe I promise! We are now actively looking for a new bass player – the plan being the new recruit coming in to the set-up sometime before Ben goes, with the view to taking over from him when we commence gigging towards the end of this year.

Please, if you are a bass player yourself and fancy life as part of the infamous ATC, or you know of anyone that may be interested – do get in touch – info@allthingsconsidered.org.uk is the e-mail address to contact, or there is always through our Facebook page www.facebook.com/allthingsconsidered. The more people who know we are looking, the more chance we have of finding the right replacement, so it’s all hands on deck – that alright? Thanks!

Few gigs coming up – as summer is just round the corner. We’re playing a nice laid back slot at Jagz Open Mic night tomorrow (17th) which is in the front bat, not the function room. There is the possibility of a slot on 29th May (will confirm when confirmed!) and then numerous dates in June including a return to Lincolnshire and The Crawley Folk Festival. Good times.

Spotify and Gigs

First up, we're very excited to announce that our debut album, Scarecrow, is (finally!) available on Spotify. Well, you’ll be pleased to know that went off without a hitch! It was a great night – a really nice crowd, good music and the headline act were excellent company. We’re hopeful of a few more of those support gigs this year.

We have a few live dates coming up in the next month or so to tell you about – and it would be great to see some of you there for them.

This Thursday (10th March) we are playing what is probably now our annual (or at least 6 monthly) show at The Cellar Bar, South Hill Park in Bracknell.
Very much a hometown show... well for some of us anyway. This one is actually a full Artree Music showcase, as it features our little acoustic stable of Phoebe Wright and Scattered Few on the bill. Should be a really nice event – with tickets £5 on the door. It kicks off at 8pm.

On 6th April we travel the relatively short distance to Fleet for a feature set at the newish Propaganda Presents night, funnily enough at The Propaganda Music Canteen. This is one of the great Vic Cracknell’s events – which we always love playing and are well worth attending because the standard is always stupidly high. It is also free entry – so no excuses!

The album is slowly but surely coming together. We don’t have any further news with regards to release but we’re very pleased with how it is sounding. This is a big release for us so we’re making sure we use all the time we can getting it absolutely bang on. I’m sure there will be a few dates set in stone soon. We will obviously keep you posted.

Anyway – thanks all for the continued support, and it’ll be great to see a few of you in Bracknell and Fleet in the coming weeks.

Cheers
ATC x

Roddy Woomble Support

In the last couple of days we’ve been confirmed as the support act for Idlewild’s lead singer Roddy Woomble’s solo show in Reading on Tuesday night (1st Feb).

This is a great opportunity for us in our quest to work with more high profile artists – and although very short notice (we were only 100% confirmed yesterday!), I hope there is still time for a few of you to grab some tickets and come along.

The venue is Sub89 in Reading and tickets for the show are £11 and available from here. It should be a great night.

Dec News

Folks, we have new video footage on our You Tube page at www.youtube.com/user/allthingsconsideredu, and also for next few days you can hear our track played by Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.

This link www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wnyfd#segments will take you to the page and you'll need the 'Listen Now' button.

End of Another Year!

Well - we've come to the end of another year and it seems to be finishing the way it started, with stupid amounts of snow on the ground and things being cancelled left, right and centre. Nice for a day or two but bloody annoying after that!

Luckily we've finished gigging for the year, with probably more travelling this year than any other in our time as a band. Bath, Bristol, Norwich, Portsmouth - various parts of Essex, Lincolnshire etc. The cars have certainly racked up the miles.

The studio sessions have started really well for the new album, which will hopefully be all done and dusted by the spring. You never realise quite how much there is to do until you start, but we're pretty solidly plugging away at the moment, with the hope we should have all the major bits down by February. There should be a few bits and pieces we can show you all around that time, so we'll keep you posted.

We do however have a couple of the newer tracks you'll find on the record up on our You Tube page. Some great footage was shot when we played a gig alongside our good friends Spriggan Mist a couple of months back, which we have now uploaded on to our page.

You can check out footage of us playing Selfpity and also one of our much more recent tracks - the first airing of Past Times at www.youtube.com/user/allthingsconsideredu

We've also recently had some more national radio play, which is always nice. Tom Robinson (yes, he of 2-4-6-8 Motorway fame) played Clear Your Conscience on his BBC 6 Music show. If you'd like to hear that, you can for the next few days by visiting www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wnyfd#segments and clicking the 'Listen Now' button.

Anyway - we'll close by thanking each and every one of you who have supported us this year, whether it be punter or promoter. As with all bands trying to make an impact we need all of you on board and we're extremely grateful you have chosen to take an interest in our music.

We hope the new album when it is ready won't disappoint!

Have a great Xmas, and we'll see you all in Lewisham for one of our favourite gigs on the circuit, on January 13th.

Cheers

ATC x

Recording Update and Jagz gig with Martha Tilston

Hello Everyone!

Just thought we'd give you a quick update on weekend number 1 in the studio.

Basically, it went great - and album number 2 is already taking shape very nicely. We managed to get 6 guide tracks recorded, with the proper percussion and bass takes recorded live and on the whole correct! We then had time to get some of Adrian's guitar parts down as well - which by the end were sounding really good.

We're attempting to get a much fuller, bolder sound to this record and so far, with a few nicely placed mics we are achieving it. A very long way to go yet, but we're all already itching to get back in and continue.

Hopefully we'll have the odd snippet of the sessions to show you all at some point soon!

We have three gigs coming up next week - and it pretty much (apart from a short set in Guildford just confirmed for 7th December) will mark the end of our gigging for the year. We play The Hoy Folk Club, Leigh-on-Sea on Tuesday next week, and also doing a set in Newbury on Sunday with our good friends Scattered Few and the brilliant Amy's Ghost.

However - the big one for us next week is at one of our favourite venues, Jagz in Ascot where on Wednesday next week (24th) we support the quite fantastic Martha Tilston.

Martha is a truly one of a kind artist, with a wonderful voice, thoughtful lyrics and a really warm demeanour on stage. She is an artist that influences a good few of us in the band so this is going to be a great night.

It would be absolutely fantastic if we can get a few familiar faces to this night. Tickets are £10 in advance or £12 on the night, and that will be money so worthwhile spending. You can get advance tickets from this link - www.wegottickets.com/event/93373 or if you e-mail info@allthingsconsidered.org.uk with the full names of people requiring tickets, we'll get your names on the door for you to pay the lower price when you turn up on the night.

We're really looking forward to it - and it will be great to see some of you there. It will be a brilliant night!

Cheers

ATC x

Lightwater gig

Just a quick one folks to say we'll be doing a set at The Crossley Club in Lightwater tomorrow (Friday 12th), on at about 9pm. The night is part of the Spriggan Mist Presents series, and will include sets from our good friends Savour the Flavour, and obviously Spriggan Mist, along with a couple of other acts.

Be great to see a few heads down for that one - our last before we start recording the 'tricky' second album. Entry is £2, and it all kicks off around 7.30pm.

Also, just a reminder that we're doing a short set supporting Martha Tilston at Jagz in Ascot on Wednesday 24th Nov.
