		<description>Abbiamo parlato della Supernova 1987 A poco tempo fa riguardo alle misure tridimensionali ottenute dal VLT dell’ESO ed ecco che Hubble non vuole essere da meno e va a studiare nei dettagli velocità e composizione della “collana di perle” che sembra circondare la stella esplosa. Sappiamo che questa struttura deriva dalla sovrapposizione di onde a diverse velocità e dall’interazione del gas che si espande con il mezzo circostante, ma l’aspetto resta comunque veramente emozionante.

Lo studio dell’ammasso aperto denominato Westerlund 1 pone invece nuovi dubbi e potrebbe alzare il valore critico della massa necessaria o, quantomeno, far rivedere le modalità evolutive delle ultime fasi stellari.
