I saw this and was so inspired! It's awesome! I can so see my friend and I rockin' out to one of our favorite songs. When we were kids we actually did something kinda similar but with commercials. Remember Joe & Mat? Those were the good 'ole days. Anyway, check out this video. It was filed with my dream camera, Canon 5D Mark II. I'll have it one day, but for now...

Just One Of Those Days...

I know you've had one too. I wake up and just know it. Majority of the time I can instantly turn it around and the day turns out fine.

Come to think of it, I don't get them often and never have I had one quit like this! It was mixed with embarrassment, self-disappointment, ridicule, and well, humor, a lot of humor.

It all started at 2am. The dogs woke me up 'cause they had to pee. I laid down on the couch thinking I'd fall back to sleep while they took their hour cool-down outside but just as I got comfy they scratched at the door. UGH! I got up, let them in, and headed back to bed. At 4am this process happened all over again! UGH! At 5:55am my alarm goes off! Seriously? I already didn't feel well from the day before but when you add lack of sleep to the mix, it doesn't get any better.

Eventually I crawled out of bed and into the shower, got dressed, and headed downstairs to leave. Like every single other day, I slip on my heels and scurry out the door, jump in the car and head to work. Not so bad, all is well.

I arrive to work, find a horrible parking spot, and head inside. While I'm walking in I notice that something just doesn't feel right. Not thinking much of it, I keep walking. But I can't lose the thought that my right shoe doesn't feel right, it seems huge compared the the left. Than it happened! (Now, I want to clearly note that, YES, it could have been way worse but at the moment it was horrific!) The realization that I had gone and done this....

Wow! I literally stopped in my tracks and said loudly, "You got to be kidding me!" It was too late. I was already walking into work and had to face the fact that I was going to have to wear these mismatched shoes for the day. I was mortified. I didn't let it go unnoticed by quickly having David come to my desk to see what I had done. He now calls me 'Two Shoed Dickes!' Shortly after he had his laughs and left, I nonchalantly announced my misfortune to my whole team. Let's just say they all found it quit amusing but I was totally cool with them having a good laugh at my expense!

Moral of the story: Don't put your shoes on in the dark!

I looked at her poor buggy eyes and felt horrible! She told me she wasn't too excited with the thought of having to wear this thing but I knew it was the only option! I could only imagine being in her paws, bumping into walls, not fitting through cracked doors, getting stuck under the bed, and having to carefully get a drink without spilling all my water!

Seeing her sad puppy dog eyes make me remember that when I feel like I'm in a rough spot, life could be worse. I could be wearing a cone around my head! :)

For my Sis-In-Law & Bro-In-Law's 10th wedding anniversary they had a 'Famous Couples' costume party! It was a ton of fun and everyone looked awesome! My friends Sasha & Ali did an awesome job planning the party! It was full of great food, friends, & fun!

Weekly Love III : Prizes

What are the odds of winning two prizes in one week? Well, I have no clue but both Dave & I won some pretty sweet items! What's even cooler is Dave didn't even know he won until UPS stopped by with this huge package. You're probably asking yourself, 'So what did you win already?!'

Well, I won a pretty nifty little iPod Shuffle 4G! Awesome huh?! And all I did to win was send a few emails! Sweetness! I can't wait to load the thing up and use it at the gym!

Now for the ultimate prize! If I could, I'd snag it for myself! :) Many of you have probably heard and seen the Green Label Gear Sweeps by Mountain Dew? Well, you enter codes off your pop caps for a chance to win limited-edition gear designed by some pretty sweet artists!

I know this post is a little late but due to the fact that it's only fall and we've already had snow, it's a bit depressing! And it wasn't a little dusting we had a full on downpour of the white stuff for a few hours, enough that I was able to spend some quality time building a snow man! My hands were a bit frozen when all was said and done but I think he is the cutest little thing ever! Take a look for yourselves!

Becker Workshop : Omaha NE

It couldn't have been a better experience! Last week I attended my first ever Becker workshop and had a blast. Myself, along with 11 others laughed and learned a ton! Not only is Becker an awesome wedding photographer from Cali, he's a pretty funny guy too!

During the workshop we shadowed Becker during a live engagement session. We got to watch him rock it out! Check out some of the images I snagged during the session.

Today is my Grandma Barb & Grandpa Don's 50th wedding anniversary.

I have to admit, its so encouraging to see that despite all the ups & downs a marriage can experience, you can make it work. Just like everyone else, their marriage isn't perfect but they have a love that keeps them together. I've seen a lot of marriages fall apart & it's really tragic. Accomplishing the big '50' is amazing, especially since marriages today are 50/50.

It's so cute how a couple grows together & how evident it is as they get older. My grandparents make me smile when I think about it. My Grandpa has a wonderful humor that I'll never forget & my Grandma's loving hospitality is never missing.

I remember as a little girl Grandpa getting me to rub his feet for a quarter. Ah geez, it would definitely take more than a quarter now. :) My Grandpa also liked to fish so sometimes after a good rain we'd go out in the dark to catch night-crawlers. Good times!

Grandma will also be famous to me for the wonderful way she made my turkey sandwiches. They were perfect every time. I also loved sitting down with her and eating vanilla wafers with milk. Yum! My brothers always seemed to manage to get Grandma to scratch their backs when we'd visit & she never said no.

There are so many more wonderful memories over the past few years & I'm glad they've been together all those years to share them with all of the family. They'll never know the depth of their impact but I believe that every moment helps mold us into the person we are. So Congrats Grandma & Grandpa! And thanks for being the loving, wonderful grandparents that you are!

I love you!

Weekly Love II : Jill's Extreme Boot Camp

Sometimes a couch seems much more appealing than an Elliptical or a Treadmill, but as we all know being a couch potato isn't the best option for keeping in tip-top shape.

More than anything the biggest obstruction toward that decrease in inches is MOTIVATION!

We all know there is a reward, a benefit and a satisfaction to putting in the effort but without motivation and self-determination that motivating thought gets stuck behind a roadblock in a dark alley, rusting and collecting dust.

Well, I’m proud to say that I have successfully kicked butt and stuck to a goal, along with an amazing group of women! All of us, with determination, enrolled in Jill’s Extreme Boot Camp with the goal to improve our health and physical strength/endurance. None of us can say it was easy! We sweated and burned calories while enduring the pain and burn, knowing each and every moment was a reward in itself. The inches melted with every wall sit, dirty dog, butt kick, and skull crusher.

Thanks to every lady that participated and help motivate each other along the way. And a special ‘Thanks’ to our wonderful PT Jill for being such a sweetheart and motivator. Without Jill I’d be sipping on a yummy Starbucks and driving by the gym thinking, "I should be there but boy does this Starbucks taste good!!" ;)

Here’s to another 6 weeks and the additional inches we will watch disappear!

Family Time : Canning

The past couple years we've enjoyed spending time canning apples out at Dave's parent's acreage. This year we took advantage of this wonderful opportunity to spend some wholesome time with our family. We spent the afternoon making apple pies, apple crisp, apple butter and apple sauce. All of which tasted so yummy! The guys picked and peeled while the ladies baked and canned.

I swear every day I am declaring something as a love of mine. From Husker Football to Quaker Oatmeal bars. There are so many things I just can't get enough of! I started thinking about all the things that melt my heart (or just make me smile) and I couldn't believe the list. I thought many of the things would be tid bits of information that some of you might like to have or things that you might not have tried, so I decided to have a weekly post called the 'Weekly Love'! Corny, I know! But I promise they will be interesting, well some of them anyway! ;)

So to start off my new blogging attempt, here it my 'Weekly Love' I : My True Love!

He's not a romantic and he hates PDA. He rarely puts his dishes in the dishwasher but he can devote hours to his xBox. He walks when I run and he laughs when I cry (at movies). But despite any faults I can't help love him truly, madly, deeply!

Dave is more than my hubby, he's my best friend, my confidant, my motivator, my inspiration, My Man!

I promise I'm not trying to be all gushy! I'm just saying, he's my #1 love. I could go on and on but I know that's not what you want to hear. It would turn into blah, blah, blah.

More than anything I want to thank Dave for his support of my new venture. I dove head first into my business, truly motivated to make it work and he has continued to help me along the way. I couldn't have asked for anything better, except for maybe him to join me as my partner in crime. ;) He always tells me, 'We'll see!'

My Big Debut!

Stylish, tight, bomb, gnarly - all words to describe the Kellogg family's sense of fashion! I absolutely loved their bold color coordination and print/solid combination! The family looked amazing!
