Happy New Year

Thank you to everyone that worked so hard in 2008. The election results in Arapahoe County show the tremendous efforts of each and everyone one of you. I hope over the Holidays you have had time to rest, reflect on our successes and enjoyed much needed time with family and friends.

2008 was a historic year in Arapahoe County. In the county, our registration numbers now exceed 120,000, President Elect Barak Obama won by 13 points, as did Senator Elect Mark Udall, Congess members Diana DeGette and Ed Perlmutter won handily. In the Colorado House we are represented by 8 out the 11 Arapahoe County seats by our fellow Democrats and in the Colorado Senate we now have 3 out of 5 Seats. Although we did not win every race, we were competitive in all races. Thank you to all that stepped up to make a difference in our community.

What made the difference? Fantastic candidates from top to bottom and of course all of your hard work on behalf of our candidates.

Re-Organization

The Arapahoe County Reorganization meeting will occur on Saturday Feb 7^th. Final Location and times to be confirmed. For those new to the political landscape, this is where the Arapahoe County Democratic Party Central Committee elects county party officers and officers of each political district, also representatives to the state executive and central committee are elected. Colorado Democratic Party JJ Dinner

The 2009 Jefferson-Jackson Dinner is scheduled for Saturday March 7^th, 2009 at the Korbel Ballroom at the Colorado Convention Center. We are in the process of purchasing a couple of tables for the Arapahoe County Democrats. Save the Date

Our first Century Clun event of 2009 will help on January 30^th. Our speaker will be Congresswomen Diana DeGette. For a congressional update and signing of her new book SEX, SCIENCE & STEM CELLS, Inside the Right Wing Assault on Reason. This event is free to all Century Club and Ten for Dems members, others minimum $25.00 donation. More details to come.
