I really have not been very good at keeping my new years resolution. So much for updating my blog with Artists of the month. Failed! So, i’m going to make up for it. I think I have a good excuse ..this year we got married and got a puppy ..busy busy busy.

I have recently begun to focus back on my art. I cleaned my studio (its no longer a storage unit for wedding crap), I bought some new brushes and then had a good think!

I finally finished ‘the city that never sleeps’ (below) a work in progress from 2009. Now i’m looking for new inspiration. Autumn is great for inspiration. The beautiful colours, the blowing wind and cosy Sundays eating a scrummy roast.

My chosen artists this month are awesome. I was looking for artists that used squares like the majority of my work, or vibrant colours. James Fowler is an Artist from Canada. I love that he uses real or abstract landscapes as his inspiration, his use of squares abstract and yet structured at the same time. My second choice is Swarez a Gloucester based artist who just creates the most vibrant, exquisite art. Check him out!

So, my new years resolution was to promote an artist of the month .... I failed in January but will make up for it by having 2 this month.

My first is Carne Griffiths. His stunning use of materials (alcohol and tea included!) make his work both delicate and powerful. Find more here - http://www.carnegriffiths.com/

My second is Wendy Hyde. Her depth of colour and texture is so emotive and thought evoking! You can see more here http://wendyhyde.theartistsweb.co.uk/

Enjoy!!!!
