Start the process for figuring out where you are called to serve at the Amelia Church of Christ by filling out the Personal Ministry Inventory form online.

Dave Hubert, our new Minister of Involvement, has developed this simple form to begin helping every person from ACC determine where your gifts and your passion intersect. After many years in ministry, it is clear that Dave has a particular gift and passion for helping others move into serving roles in the church. Paper forms are also available in the church foyer on the desk. Fill out the form and leave it in the file holder or hand it to Dave.

As we learned during our recent Simple Church series, serving is the crucial third step in ACC's new Connecting, Growing, Serving vision. We are all called to serve in some capacity.

Missionary Pino Neglia to speak at ACC Nov. 1

Pino Neglia is our missionary in Italy and Albania (Lecce Christian Mission).

He will be at ACC on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 pm. Pino is a fun, and very passionate guy who loves Jesus more than anything. If you�ve never heard him speak, you�re missing out.

ACC staff hire to clear way for small groups

In the middle of its Connecting, Growing, Serving vision series, the Amelia Church of Christ today announced that the church will hire a part-time youth minister to take over the junior and senior high ministry.

The hire is necessary to move Brian Morrissey, youth and worship minister at ACC for more than seven years, into his new role as worship and small groups minister.

Pastor Mike Edmisten and Brian explained from the stage Sunday that offering small groups at ACC next year will allow every member of the congregation an opportunity to grow deeper in their faith by exploring the Bible together in a more intimate small-group setting.

Once a part-time youth minister is hired, Brian will help that person get established in their new position then finalize the small-groups structure and finish training facilitators. Small groups are expected to begin about six months from the time a student minister is hired.

Church leaders have designed small groups to facilitate opportunities to grow closer to God and grow closer to one another, the crucial second step in ACC's Connecting, Growing, Serving vision, all of which is being announced during a three-week series called "Simple Church" Oct. 11-25.

The congregation discovered during the first week the importance of connecting to Christ and connecting to one another during our Sunday morning worship service.

The last part of the exciting but simple vision will be revealed next week as we discover the importance of serving Christ and serving others.

Schedule your make-up day for directory pictures, Nov. 19

Due to illness and other unforseen circumstances, the Amelia Church of Christ will be having a make-up day for directory pictures. The make-up day will be Thursday, Nov. 19 from 2:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the church. If you weren't able to make it to your scheduled appointment, please plan to have your family portrait taken on Nov. 19. Schedule your new time here.

Help us better connect our people with one another. Sign up for your family portrait today and reserve your spot.

LifeTouch will be at the Amelia Church of Christ for several hours each day from Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 15 to take pictures for an updated ACC directory. Each family (or individual) will receive a free 8-X-10 and a free directory for participating.

There is no obligation to buy additional photos, but you will have the chance to purchase portraits in a variety of different collections.

These photos will be back in plenty of time for Christmas and there is an option for selecting a Christmas card with your family portrait on the front. Images will arrive two to three weeks after your session.

Please don't think you have to be an official ACC member to take part. If you consider our church your home, we want you in the directory.

We encourage anyone who is free during the daytime to take the earliest openings leaving evening hours for those who can't come during the day.

Please plan to spend up to an hour for your session, and feel free to bring props and pets to personalize your images.

The Amelia Church of Christ supports missions that spread the gospel of Jesus Christ both locally and around the world.

At ACC, we set aside 10 percent of our offering every month and send it to a handful of missions as close as Woodland Lakes Christian Camp just down the street and as far away as India, 8,000 miles from here.

Jay Henry, from the Mid-India Christian Mission, spoke at our church last summer to share the trials and triumphs of reaching the lost there. Mid-India has recently launched a new Web site where you can discover for yourself more about the lives being transformed for Christ in the world's second-most populated country.

Church Picnic - Schedule Change

This Sunday, August 30, is the annual Amelia Church of Christ picnic at Woodland Lakes Christian Camp.

NOTE: Because of the unseasonably cool weather we'll be having on Sunday, we have changed the schedule for the day (i.e., no one will likely want to swim since the high will be around 70�F).

New Schedule

2:00 pm - softball game
3:30 pm - cornhole tournament
5:00 pm - dinner at the picnic pavilion

Please bring extra softball equipment to share if you have it.

The church will provide fried chicken, and each family is asked to bring a side dish and dessert for the potluck dinner. Also, bring drinks for your family.

New Directory, Free Family Portrait

Mark your calendar for the annual Amelia Church of Christ picnic on Sunday, Aug. 30 at Woodland Lakes Christian Camp .

The fun begins with swimming at the pool at 2:00 pm, followed by a 3:30 pm softball game. Please bring extra equipment to share if you have it.

We�ll gather to eat at the picnic pavilion at 5:00 pm and wrap up the day with a 6:00 pm Cornhole tournament.

Josh Young - Vision

Creative & Communications Minister

This Sunday, July 12, our church will learn the details of an exciting leadership move in our church as we introduce our new Creative and Communications Minister, Josh Young.

In this position, Josh will be responsible for managing all visual communications at ACC. As many of you know, Josh developed and maintains the ACC website and creates many other graphics you see each week. In his new capacity, he�ll also oversee all print publications, signage and other media.

This is currently an unpaid ministry position. �Josh will retain his current job at an engineering firm. �But he is, nonetheless, now an official member of the ACC staff.

Because of this exciting change, Josh has also officially resigned as a deacon at ACC.

This Sunday during both services, Josh will share his vision for this ministry.

Unforgettable Experiences at Sports Camp

Here are just a few of the lyrics from some of the songs surely still playing in the heads of tons of area youngsters (as well as volunteers) who attended the Amelia Church of Christ Beyond the Gold Sports Camp at Batavia Township Park last week.

ACC took a chance on a completely new concept this summer by introducing the community to a totally free Sports Camp instead of the traditional Vacation Bible School. The results were enormous as we were blessed with more than double our usual VBS turnout.

About 200 children signed up for the unique opportunity to both learn a sport and soak up plenty of God-honoring lessons about being a good sport. Each night saw kids having a blast on the field while learning the importance of teamwork, perseverance, respect, sacrifice and strategy.

Sports included soccer, flag football, cheerleading and Sports of All Sorts (ultimate Frisbee, kickball, wiffle ball and more).

Special thanks to our many volunteers, led by ACC Children's Minister Melanie Presta ; our special guests, WKRC Sports Reporter Tara Pachmayer and the UC Bearcat mascot; Cahall Bros. for use of their equipment; and a huge thanks to Batavia Township for use of the park.

We can�t wait to do it all again next year, so stay tuned.

Sports Camp Kicks Off in a Big Way

About 200 children are taking part in the Amelia Church of Christ Beyond the Gold Sports Camp this week at the Batavia Township Park. Things got rolling on Monday for the June 22-26 camp (sorry registration is closed) where kids are learning and playing all types of sports including soccer, cheerleading, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, kickball and more.

In between sports sessions, ACC volunteers are huddling up with small groups of kids all across the park to teach invaluable God-honoring lessons about the value of being a good sport on and off the field.

Others are taking the stage to lead the children with dramas, singing and, of course, plenty of dancing.

Please continue to pray for all the children, our volunteers and the success of this awesome outreach event.

Don't Miss Dave Ramsey's Money Series at ACC

For three straight weeks beginning Sunday, June 7, the Amelia Church of Christ will host the guru of Biblical finance. Dave Ramsey will be delivering the message at ACC via video June 7, 14 and 21.

It is no secret that worries about the economy are dominating the news headlines every day. Ramsey will give us a radically different and thoroughly Biblical approach regarding our money. You don't want to miss it.

Donate Bottled Water, Pour Love Into Area Kids

If you are looking for a way to make an impact in the lives of young people this summer, we've got a refreshing solution for you. Help us provide free water bottles to all the children who will be attending the Amelia Church of Christ Sports Camp June 22-26.

We are asking families to donate 100 bottles of water.� If you are able to donate, please sign a water bottle on the bulletin board.

Sports Camp Volunteer Meeting, Sunday May 31

We are having a meeting immediately following second service Sunday, May 31, for ALL Sports Camp volunteers.� Every aspect of Sports Camp will be explained, so it is very important to make every effort to be there.

Also, remember, Sports Camp registration ends Sunday, May 31, so get your children, neighbors, friends and friends of friends registered right away.

Registration Now Open for Sports Camp

The Amelia Church of Christ is now taking registrations for Beyond the Gold, our free Sports Camp this summer. Sign up now, as registration ends May 31, and the camp will be capped at 500 children. So be sure to lock up your spot for your son or daughter's favorite sport soon.

The camp, open for all students who are going into K-5th grade, will run Monday, June 22- Friday, June 26, 6-9:00 p.m. The sports offered include Soccer, Cheerleading, Flag Football and Sports of All Sorts. Sports Camp will take place at the Batavia Township Park on Clough Pike (not the Helicopter park).

Please join us for lunch on Saturday, May 9 from 11:30am to 3:00pm� at the Holiday Inn Eastgate.� Lunch will consist of lasagna, salad, and breadsticks and will begin promptly at noon.� Following lunch there will be a short devotion and then an opportunity to reveal your creative self.� The cost is $6.00 per person.� Reservations must be received by Sunday, May 3 and may be left in the wood box in the foyer.
