The world is changing.

We are going from a middle man economy to a direct model. What does that mean?

Well… for the last few hundred years, the majority of people traded their time and talent to a middle man. A corporation or business that would take that work and resell it to others. They were the distributor. Certainly it’s more complicated than that but that is what was happening in a nut shell.

Now with the internet everything has changed. Distribution is no longer controlled by the “few”, it is now in the hands of the many. We are in the middle of a revolution of sorts. Vast numbers of businesses are already being eliminated or being drastically altered to survive and the number of Independent Contractors/Small Businesses are rising at record levels.

Q: So is it time to start a small business?

A: There has never been a better time to start your small business!

Now is the time to begin. You don’t have to quit your job and do it in drastic fashion. On the contrary, start it up while you have your existing job. Nurture it and let it organically tell you when it’s time to go out on  your own or just keep it as a source of extra income on the side.

NONSENSE! In today’s world almost any passion you have can be turned into a business. There is so much to choose from. You just need some help figuring that out.

and it can be you helping them with whatever is your own passion. Your joy and enthusiasm will show through and connect. This is what people are desperate for today.

Is it time to start a small business?

As a life coach that specializes in Polyamory and Alternative sexuality & relationships, finding this book was truly a gift.

I believe that it’s one of the most inspiring and important things I’ve ever read!

How can you not love a book that makes a convincing argument that all we need do, is take after our closest equidistant relatives the Bonobos and Chimps, to live a peaceful and harmonious life where we all CAN, “just get along”.

The authors have supplied us with a tremendous amount of research to support feelings that many of us have had our whole life, explaining why our sexual urges do not match up with the societal norms we have been given. If you are non-monogamous, have trouble staying monogamous, or just thought about doing so, this book may answer a lot of your questions.

This isn’t a book for everyone. It can be hard to get through at times. It’s really an academia book trying hard to relate to the average person. It does it’s best to do that, but not everyone finds this depth and scope of research, fascinating enough to sit through . The main premise that, up until the advent of agriculture 10,000 years ago, we were a highly promiscuous, hunter/gatherer society, that shared most everything… including each other, will also certainly upset many a closed minded/pious person.

But for those who dare, the work is worth it.

If you are willing to put your fears aside and be a seeker of truth, this book will truly make you question pretty much everything you think you know about human sexual relationships.

Perhaps most important, is their exhaustive evidence on why the standard narrative of “pair bonding” (aka monogamy), is at best questionable and more than likely a downright lie told to support various religious and social dogma.

I know that I’ve referenced this book quite heavily already, in several of my classes on polyamory and will continue to do so year after year.

Christopher and Cacilda, your research will help many to lose their shame and guilt, over natural urges they have always been taught to suppress. Thank you for being brave and seeking truth!

One of my favorite things I’ve ever done is invent something we call “The Tipping Game”.

It started years ago when my wife and I would vend goods for one of our businesses up and down the East Coast. If we had a good day vending we would be flush with cash and I felt very fortunate about it.

One night some friends and I left one such event and went to the diner on the way home. I decided to create a little game of Karma. If the waiter/waitress did a great job, we’d give her an obscenely good tip. If she did a terrible job… well… we’d give her a normal tip anyway just for unknowingly playing our game.

We started doing this after every show we did well at and decided this was a cool way to “pay it forward” and share in our good fortune. The game has developed over the years and we have all kinds of crazy fun rules. We only reveal our game if the person has done well, we never taunt with “what might have been”.

When there are a lot of us out eating together it can be a real blast as we all secretly critique the service and the establishment and I even do a little play by play voiceover after our contestent has left the table.

“Oh, that’s a shame folks… she was doing so well and now she’s forgotten to refill our soda even though we asked her twice… that’s going to hurt her score”

Some of the reveals were hysterical and downright touching so we decided to start video taping some of them. Here is one we just did recently. our waitress was so nice and what’s the most amazing is how happy it makes her.

For just a few extra dollars you can have the same rewarding feeling and make someone who works hard, happy. Try it out, I guarantee you have as much fun as the person who wins.

The Tipping Game of Karma

Bo will be attending the Exxxotica Expo in Edison NJ Nov 4-6, 2011.

He will be teaching several classes at the event, including “Is Polyamory for you?”.

Bo will be in the vending area as well answering questions at his booth.

Back in the mid 90′s I directed a video for a well known artist in the gay community, named Thomas Eckel.

This was a lot of fun as we shot it in Naples Italy and amazingly, also in Pompeii Italy. (They told us that National Geographic had to wait 3 months for their permit. Ahhhh it’s amazing what $100 USD will do when the big boss isn’t at the national park).

I really loved making this, it’s one of my favorite things I ever directed. I had a lot of creative control. Thomas had so much faith in my vision, he basically gave me cart-blanch to do whatever I wanted. I picked the locations and wrote the plot etc. It’s got this whole crazy Fellini theme going on and although this is a bad VHS dupe, this was shot on film and looked beautiful in the final cut.

After going to Italy to direct “alone” in 95, Thomas asked me to work with him on a video for his next album in 98.

This time we shot in Spain, in Madrid, Toledo/Consuegra, Barcelona & Port of Lligat. Thomas was so happy with how Alone came out, this time he really let me loose and asked me to come up with something special to go with the songs strong message. All I was told was that we were going to Spain to shoot in and around Madrid & Barcelona.

I decided on a Don Quixote theme as the original windmills from the Cervantes book were only about an hour away from Madrid in Consuegra. The windmill and all the castle shots were done there. All the religious iconography and the scene with the beggars was done in Madrid, right across the street from our Hotel.

In Barcelona we shot all the piano scenes in a music conservatory and many of the shots on La Rambla, the main street/public area in Barcelona.

But the real treat for me was that I talked them into shooting in Port of Lligat, which is the home of my very favorite artist Salvador Dali. If you look at many Dali paintings you will see they are set in a bay with 3 small islands in the distant background. This was the beautiful port he lived in. If you watch when Thomas goes into the water for the baptism scene, the very same islands can be seen in the background. It was a wonderful thing for me to do “my art” where Dali did his. Really amazing.

I loved doing this video, sure it’s a bit indulgent on all our parts but the song has a great message and I think the images are beautiful. Again, this is a bad VHS dupe, this was shot on film and looked beautiful in the final cut.

Tragically, Thomas died at a young age of suspicious circumstances. He was a great guy and I was grateful for all the faith he had in my work. He was smart and funny and I enjoyed spending time with him. He is missed.

This awesome food drive was started by our friend Omerta in Philly, PA and has spread all over the Country. His goal was to show the world how mighty the alternative community can be when driven for a good cause.

Omerta’s original plan was that you put aside one can per month, from Jan – Nov, for someone less fortunate then yourself. Whether you have 11 cans to donate or just 1 old tuna can from the pantry, it’s all appreciated. Your donations will be separated and made ready for drop offs at local shelters. If you know of someone in need of food, please contact us and they will be provided for. The remainder will go to those that need it the most.

Dr. Charley is a professor at Rutgers University and her show is the first Bi-lingual one on Relationships & Sexuality.

Bo will be answering questions on his coaching practice and talking about alternative relationships.

Bo Blaze has received the Pantheon of Leather, President’s Award, for his service to the alternative & leather community.

Thirty five Pantheon of Leather Community Service Awards were presented at the Sanctuary Studios on Friday, August 5 in Los Angeles, CA, academy awards style, for 150 cheering Leatherfolk.

To make the moment even more special, Bo’s close friend Master Taino, was presented with the Man of the Year award.

This is the 21^st year that the Pantheon of Leather has been honoring leather community leaders and is part of the larger, International Mr & Ms Olympus Leather weekend held at the Hilton LAX Hotel in Los Angeles. The event includes, The Pantheon of Leather awards, The Mr. and Ms Olympus Leather Contest, educational workshops, various vendors and play parties.

The event is produced by The Leather Journal, Dave Rhodes and Mistress Cyan.

So let me get this straight. There is a man in the sky, and he loves us but he is verrrrrrry pissed off at us.

Sure, you’d think that an all knowing, perfect being would maybe, not get angry so much, but let’s not start thinking reasonably now, that will ruin everything.

So this man in the sky loves us so much, he decided to kill most everyone 7000 years ago with a flood. Now tomorrow, 7000 years later he’s back to his crazy hi-jinks again.

God’s back and this time he’s pissed!

Yes folks, this time, our “wacky lord”… this “David Blaine” of eternity

Will produce right in front of your eyes, a most amazing magical feat of power. Yes the one and only “god” will raise up all the dead that have ever died from their graves. Earthquakes will ravage the whole world as the earth will no longer conceal its dead (Isaiah 26:21). People who died as saved individuals will experience the resurrection of their bodies and immediately leave this world to forever be with the Lord.

Wow… that’s like “Chris Angel” good!

Wait… there is a bad part. Those who died unsaved will be raised up as well, but only to have their lifeless bodies scattered about the face of all the earth. Death will be everywhere.

AWESOME, this is now like, “Francis Ford Coppola” good!

Wait no, It’s going to be “John Landis” good, like a big Thriller video come to life. It’s like one big Zombie Jesus day!

I do have a few questions.

What has been the situation with all the dead people since the beginning of time? They have been in a sort of suspended animation thing?

What about all the Billions of people who have not taken “jesus christ as their lord and savior”? You know, those pesky Eastern Religions, Jews, and such. You know…  the other 65% of the earth?

What excuses do you have ready to explain why this didn’t happen, on Sunday.

Also what happens to the rest of us heathens who are alive now and will be watching this spectacle?

Well, it seems because he’s a vengeful god, or as my man Bill Hicks once said, “A prankster god”, he’s going to not smite the rest of us right away…

he’s going to tease us. Like a 12 year old, might tease his sister.

Revelation 9:3-5 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

THEN on October 21^st, 2011, God will completely destroy his creation and all of the people who never uttered the special “phrase that pays”,  are toast.

Say the secret word and the duck will come down and give you everlasting life!

On October 21^st, 2011, all non-believers will cease to exist from that point forward.  This by the way, would be the payment for someone who used the brain that “god” gave them, to question this world and think that maybe things were a little more complicated then fairy tales.Maybe they just had the bad luck to be born Muslim or Jewish or whatever.

Folks, I appreciate that death is scary

and that trying to fathom this amazing trip we are on called life is impossible, but really? Really? You “really” think this is going to happen tomorrow? And when it does NOT happen tomorrow you’ll decide that it was all a mistake in calculation and be sure it’s going to happen someday?

You don’t think MAYBE… just maybe… this whole bible thing is sort of a “story”.

I know how scary it is, but just for a minute, for a millisecond, please use the brain that you were given. And honestly tell me, doesn’t this sound more like a nice little story that man wrote to explain things they didn’t understand, doesn’t it sound a little, hmmm… I don’t know… crazy?

Maybe it’s just me, but I’d like to think god would be a better author then that!

I beg you to think, to reason with your mind and not be frightened into listening to ridiculous dogma. If you are religious and it gives you comfort. I’m happy for you.

But please stop living your life afraid of a bad science fiction story because I’m here to tell you that:

LIFE IS WAY COOLER THEN THAT!!

I don’t have the answer and you don’t have the answer, but just look around, look at this magnificent world. The real story of how and why we’re here is not a schlocky movie that even Mystery Science Theater would mock! It’s so much more amazing.

Pick up a book, open your mind, talk to others who don’t share your beliefs. Be open to learning to growing. For me it’s studying physics that blows my mind. Thinking about Heisenberg’s uncertainty principal is enough to stupefy me for hours. There are an endless treasure trove of ideas and opinions to ponder in other religions and beliefs.

Stop being scared and start living. Stop being afraid to ask questions, stop being afraid to learn. Look at this world, it’s all yours… enjoy it!
