I had a falling away about 10 years ago and decided to come back to church this year. I decided to come back because I didn't feel at peace anymore. I was unhappy and felt alone. I didn't know (or forgot) that there was a God. I am so glad I made the decision because this past year I have been studying, praying, and striving to do better. After several months I learned through the Holy Ghost (that I have as a gift once again) that there is a God and he loves me and that the Savior didn't forget about me. Sadly, I was the one who left Him. I am so happy to be a member of this church and I am happy to feel cleansed of sin and that there is a Savior who died for all of us (even me). I am so grateful to be at peace again. I am now more optimistic about life. Things aren't perfect, but the Savior has helped me bear burdens I thought I didn't have strength to bear. I have a testimony of the church that is building once again. I am becoming stronger in the faith and I know that when we live and study God's commandments that we can be at peace. I know that president Monson is a true prophet living on the earth today who can lead us with revelations from God. It was the day we were commemerating Joseph Smith's death. And my seminary teacher read the D&C 135 and she played A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief in the background. I just felt the spirit and I started to cry. And then I knew he was truely called of God, but still I had to kneel down and ask God if the Book of Mormon is true. And I read the Book of Mormon alongside with the Bible and everything seemed to support each other rather than contradict each other and I knew it was true. I had been reading my Book of Mormon, as best as I could remember, daily and on that night I just got down and prayed to know if I would be ok one day. I had a feeling come to my heart and body that burned and was full of peace (as the only way to describe it). After that I knew that God was real and Joseph Smith did in fact see what he claims he saw. It was only a moment of pure love from God, but in that moment God did more talking and testifying to my spirit then I heard vocaly in my deaf ears. God lives, Jesus is his Christ and Jesus died for my sins and yours. He is the way, the truth, and the light as he so testified of himself. This church is true and our prophets are called and chosen men of God. Would he want war or friendship umungst his children? I want to go away from this earth having not done evil, but having done good to others that are chasing God's will too. <br><br>Even my church told me to dump a friend just because she turned out to be Mormon rather than Christian [Protestant]. This hurt me and now I am rather upset with my ministers. The funny thing is that I have fallen out with the ministers through time but yet I have kept a good frienship with my Mormon friend! Strange how the world works isn't it? <br><br>As my Mormon friend says to me; "If there are faults, it is the mistake of men only and not God.
