Note To Self | New Stamps + Stuff From My Stash

I had a request to show some of the new Story Play stamp sets in use so I decided to create a page that captures a couple notes to myself and includes stamping and some other items from my stash.

I love starting from my stash! There are always items I have on my work table that I love and are simply waiting for me to grab them and put them to use in a project. Today's project includes items released with December Daily® and plastic ampersands from the Q+A Storyteller Kit.

Finished off this set of plastic frames with this project. One of the things I love most about these frames is that they create a grid foundation and easy homes for my words, photos, and embellishments.

I started off by using washi tape to temporarily connect the frames before running them through my sewing machine to connect them together.

I picked one of the "Note To Self" stamps and added to the cardstock background.

I found the three ampersands from the Q+A Storyteller Kit and ran them through the sewing machine to adhere them to the background cardstock.

I printed three photos and a couple word art pieces at 2 inch x 2 inch and then adhered them behind the plastic frames. I stamped the title and then stamped a secondary title and number on each of my journaling squares using the new Story Play Stamp sets.

Here's just a quick sample of the three stamp sets (available as a bundle of individually). We will have more ideas for these sets coming later this year. Something I love about these specific sets is how little some of the stamps are - especially that tiny 2026 I added to the title in my project. So fun!

Alphas Are Awesome 35 | Project Idea

Today I'm sharing a story about "walking" that I'm adding to January in my 10x8 album using the newest Alphas Are Awesome stamp set (#35).

My design formula for this one includes a full page photo + repeat word stamping right on top of the photo + the story handwritten on a 4x6 journal card and added to the rings in my album.

This is a spot that's really close to my house which I discovered within the last year. It's tucked back behind a new apartment complex and is essentially a couple holes from an old golf course right along the river. Taking Betty over there for a walk is the best thing I've been doing for myself recently.

I'm looking forward to pairing this photo with other photos later in the year at this same spot. I'm so lucky to live in an area where there are distinct seasons.

I used a long acrylic block in order to stamp the entire word directly onto my photo all at once using StazOn ink. On top of that stamping I added a "hello January" label from the January 2026 Stories By The Month™ kit.

I used the "here for this" journal card and added a piece of plastic along the outside edge to create a page attacher with custom holes (the two holes in the middle of the album).

On the back side I added another card from the January Stories By The Month™ kit (the 2026 pattern) and added an Avery Index Tab along the outside edge.

Stamps Are Fun | Scrapbook Layout Project

I had a chance to play with the newest Stamps Are Fun set this past weekend. This one features four rectangle frame shapes with a curve on one end.

I love that the shapes can be used vertically or horizontally and that the curve can be at the top or at the bottom, depending on what works for how you want to tell your story.

Here are a few stamped examples in addition to how I'm using this set for my project:

Everything is sized to work together including the titles, number line, and secondary titles. I think this set would also be really fun stamped on vellum or transparency to create frames that could be added on top of photos.

Now back to my layout project. Let's dive in to the video showing my process:

Here's how it started:

I started off stamping/embossing with this super fun bright yellow embossing powder and using a sentiment from this earlier Stamps Are Fun set (now available outside the subscription).

I used a variety of different pink stamping inks (linked below) for these shapes.

As I worked I decided to make this a single page layout and feature a few of the pages in one of my sketchbooks/journals. I cropped the images to 2.25 inches x 1.5 inches.

On one of the stamped shapes I added the 2026 die cut from the current Quarterly Storyteller Kit.

On another stamped shape I used a gratitude stamp from last year's Story Play collection (our new collection is coming soon). I also added a simple little puffy heart sticker and the date!

Here's a look at the process:

As I stamped and embossed these simple white tags I was thinking about how often we make things extra complicated. A simple "X" and a simple "O" stamped + embossed onto a white tag can be just the thing to brighten someone's day.

You can add pattern paper to the back or use that space to write a handwritten note to your neighbor letting them know something you appreciate about them.

A simple heart punch, a thank you stamp, a printable circle (download below), and some plain and pattern vellum come together through to create these fun hanging hearts.

I created a "love your neighbor" and "thank you neighbor" word art along with an easy to print PDF of circles and packaged them together for you to use to spread some love in your own neighborhood.

After punching out the hearts I ran them through my sewing machine to turn the individual pieces into something that can hang.

You could tie these around a wine bottle or other beverage, attach it to a small plant, create a mobile with additional hearts and sentiments, or simply hang on a door knob.

Let's bring a little extra love to our neighbors this month.

Sharing October 2025 In My 10x8 Album

This past week I spent some time getting my October 2025 stories into my 10x8 album.

For most of last year I roughly followed these steps to document each month:

Look back through my photos and identify the stories I want to tell. While looking back through my October photo archives I made a simple, general list of stories that helps me stay on track. This month as I looked through my photos to determine the stories to tell I ended up grouping "like" photos together that didn't all happen on the same day: a bunch of flower photos, a bunch of volleyball photos, a bunch of new cat photos. It's more of a broad-brush approach vs. giving every photo its own story and it helps me identify the bigger themes in this particular season of life.
Print photos. After choosing what general story themes I want to focus on for the month, I decide the sizes for my photos often depending on the number of photos I want to include. I generally print some 2x2's for my intro page (usually craft projects and/or flower photos) along with some photo enlargements (often 11 inches x 8.25 inches or 7 inches x 8.25 inches) and then the rest are printed in either 3 inch x 4 inch or 4 inch x 6 inch and I select the corresponding page protectors.
Copy and paste my Story Threads onto a 11 inch x 8.25 inch cavas. Last year I started writing down a list of things happening around here (facts + feelings) each week and have been haring these most weeks over on Substack. This worked well for me last year so I'm continuing.
Think about how crafty I want to be. For October I decided to mostly use elements from the October Stories By The Month™ Kit with not a lot of extra embellishing or an emphasis on "designed" pages. I relied mainly on the combination of full page photos and 3x4 inch pocket pages to tell these stories.

One of the things I did this time was collect similar photos in order to capture a few different events vs. telling a story for each of the specific photos. There isn't a right or a wrong - it's simply one approach among many. Sometimes I might feel really excited to dive deeper into a specific story and other times I might take a more broad approach.

I really loved these oval journal cards from the October kit (shapes for the win). I used two to add context to the photos of Anna and her boyfriend and planned that I would use the shapes again for the next story on the back side of the page protector.

My next story was a collection of flower photos I took during the month. I ended up printing them small and pairing them with a photo enlargement to create a spread (this ended up being cropped to the same size as the next story in the album which was one I put together previously about my cat Sam).

I took two of the 4x6 cards (one vellum and one paper - same pattern) and cut them in half to create a home for my small flower photos. I also used the vellum quote card from the October kit and cut it into the oval shape.

One more "remember this" oval was added to my photo enlargement. Along the outside edge I added an Avery Index Tab and stamped the "tiny good things" sentiment from this stamp set.

Another fun item I found in a pile of good stuff on my table were these postage stamp story cards from this One Little Word® Mini Kit. I paired them with the stars from the October 2025 Stories By The Month™ Kit, the old "Make" Story Stamp, small number stamps, and the current Stamps Are Fun stamp set. I ended up adding it all together in a row on white cardstock before adhering it to the full page photo.

There were lots of good basic cards in the October Stories By The Month™ kit including these three "short story" cards. I used them to document three different volleyball adventures in October.

I added one of the strips from the Watercolor Scrapbook kit to my 4x6 photo.

One of the things leftover on my table from December Daily® were a few labels from the Cardstock Label Pack. I ended up adding four of them to a full page photo of our new cat Frida and then cut up the last two to add to my 3x4 photos.

Each month in 2025 I've ended the month with the back of a 6-pocket 3 inch x 4 inch page protector. I generally have been picking a random selection of photos. This time I stapled the "this October moment" to three of the photos and added a sentiment card.

I hope seeing this inspires you to print some photos, write some words, and add it all to some pockets.

Storyteller Kit Preview 2026

Last year was our first year offering a Quarterly Storyteller Kit after concluding our previous long-running Story Kit subscription. I was itching for a creative change and I'm so happy that I followed through with that intention.

I loved using the four kits from last year as the main supplies for my ongoing memory keeping. I recently shared a walkthrough of parts of my 10x8 album from last year so you can see what I've been sharing in the Storyteller classroom. For 2026 I'll be working in that size again and using this subscription along with some pieces from Stories By The Month™ to fill out my annual documenting.

This year I decided to take away a theme for each of the quarterly kits + just play with colors and shapes and patterns to create supplies to support our storytelling adventures. I'm in the process of designing the fourth kit for this year (it will be bright colors).

Kicking Off My 2026 10x8 Scrapbook Project

In today's post I'm sharing a look at how I'm setting up my 10x8 album for 2026. I'll be using pieces from our Stories By The Month™ kit subscription and our quarterly Storyteller Kit subscription. I love a little bit of organization in the beginning and then a lot of room to document both inside and outside of page protectors throughout the year.

I followed a similar approach for 2025 and you can see what my albums for 2025 look like here:

I'm still happily working on telling 2025 stories from September through December and will share more as I work on them in the coming months.

Each month will begin with a monthly transparency stitched to a cut up 4-pocket 3x4 page protector. I did this last year with 2x2-pocket page protectors and I loved starting off each month with a bunch of photos of flowers or artwork.

If you like the look of the simpler monthly divider transparency we have some of those available as well.

The next page I'm setting up for my album is a 6 pocket page protector. This will hold the three monthly cards from each Stories By The Month™ kit.

This page might not end up being the second page for each month but it will be a foundation I can include to capture some stories each month.

I just got the February Stories By The Month™ kit here at my house so here's a look at what I'm adding to those pockets right now (available on Jan 10th).

You can put journal cards or sentiment cards or photos into those pockets.

Today I'm sharing a walkthrough of May through August in my 2025 monthly scrapbook. This past year I've been doing all my ongoing storytelling in a couple 10x8 albums and I've really enjoyed this approach.

I'm using a combination of our quarterly Storyteller Kits and our Stories By The Month™ kits to both spark and support my stories.

December Daily® 2025 | Ali’s Story 24 + 25

Welcome to Story 24 and 25 in my 2025 December Daily® project.

Some years I like to combine the stories of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day into one big section - that's what I decided to do this year. I printed out all the photos I wanted to print and used a few different page protectors to hold them all: some 2x2, some 3x4, some 4x6, and then one big full page photo of Christmas morning (a big messy photo that feels like a tradition at this point).

Some years I find these last stories to be the hardest to finish - mainly because I'm often ready to move on to the next project. This year I tried to give myself a little space in order to have it all feel "complete." What feels complete to me might not feel the same to you and that's totally okay - listen to yourself!

I wanted to start my sharing today with a look at my completed Table Of Contents page. Loved mixing and matching the different pen widths as I tracked my stories during the month.

I decided to start off Story 24 and 25 with a full page pattern paper with a 4x6 flip up on top. I used a 4x6 frame and dotted vellum for the base and added the 2025 chipboard from the Advent Calendar on top. I stamped on one of the simple labels and then added a bit of embroidery floss for a pop of color between the sentiments.

This flips up to reveal a smaller version of the full page photo that's coming at the end of the album.

After the intro page I've got a four-pocket page protector that holds three photos and the "part 01" 4 inch x 4 inch journal card. I ended up using the digital version of the Main Kit journal cards and added my text on top before printing (sticker paper could work great here as could running the card through your printer).

On top of the two 4x6 images I added die cut words from the Main Kit and added a plastic "24" under one of those words.

And I ran them through the sewing machine for added texture.

On the back I used the "part 02" card along with two 4x6 inch photos (same treatment as the previous side).

On top of the 4x4 inch Night Before Christmas card I added a wood tree that had been stamped with the "Christmas Eve" stamp. And yes, you can run wood veneer through the sewing machine.

The next section includes a four pocket 3x4 inch page protector stitched to one of the tall transparencies.

Inside the pockets I added 3x4 inch photos and also added in two of the plastic snow globes. Inside my globes I added a circle punched from a long journal card and a photo of a gift that Anna gave her boyfriend.

Here for the simple stitching! I just like how it looks.

On the backs of each of the snow globes I added transparencies + papers/embellishments.

My next page is a 2x2 pocket page protector with the holly transparency stitched along the outside edge.

Inside the pockets I added photos, transparencies, and plastic label shapes with puffy hearts add on top.

I added the same things to the back and stamped some of the short quotes from the stamp sets this year.

For my last photo I printed out one of our messy Christmas morning images and then added some of the die cut word art and journal strips along the top and bottom of the photo.

Messy stitching adds to the messy vibes. Lovely, simple time together.

This year I'm ending my project with a floral page with a little message of gratitude on top.

Welcome to Story 23 in my December Daily® album for 2025.

The flip-up page was one I put together as a foundation page for this year's Product Play workshop. It was so fun to cut up the pattern paper and turn it into a four row flip up - I've been waiting all month to use this!

We do have a few sets of these extra pattern papers available!

Earlier this month I documented a story about using up the wrapping paper I had before buying any more. Well, yep, I needed more because we ended up wrapping more than we have in the past few years (this year we did more individual gifts vs. group themed gifts). New paper meant I wanted to incorporate some of those new patterns into my project.

I took a photo of the mess in the my office and the new and old paper. I printed it out and then cut it to the label shape from the story before. On top of the photo I added a plastic label embellishment and on top I stamped "more merry" using this stamp set.

On the second page of the spread I decided to use the metal die to cut out the label shapes from my new wrapping papers along with a few photos from this day of wrapping and preparing.

I love how it ends up being a really visual peek into this particular time. On top of a couple of the wrapping paper shapes I added cut up text banners from the Main Kit.

I love how this page foundation can be used for a bunch of different kinds of stories. You could have include journaling in each row if you were wanting to add more words. For this one I just wanted to focus on the visual story created by combining the plastic pieces with photos and wrapping paper patterns.

Welcome to Story 22 in my 2025 December Daily® project.

While I was visiting my parents the rest of our village showed up to watch the debut of Simon's Christmas short movie at a local holiday variety show. You can check out his short video called The Lights Stay On on YouTube here.

For full page photos I print at home using an Epson XP15000 Printer.

For my the second page I'm using the label shape from the Die Cut Insert pack. On top I used a tree stamp (embossed in green) and a "tradition" stamp (embossed in gold). My journaling was added using clear sticker paper.

On top of the embossed tree I added a small label with gold puffy numbers on top.

Welcome to Story 21 in my 2025 December Daily® project.

Today's story includes photos from my time with my parents on this coast last weekend. I'm pairing the large frame from the Die Cut Page Insert page with two of the plastic slide frames to create a foundation for your photos and crafty play.

On the back of Story 20 I decided to add a large plastic Santa circle + a cute little rectangle title + a gold glitter star.

Around the inside of the large frame I added May Arts Scalloped Adhesive Ribbon. Love that pop of red on top of the frame.

I also love using the slide frames as a way to create homes for my photos and embellishments and words. I printed four, 2x2 inch photos and used scotch tape to adhere the photos to the back of the plastic frames.

In the other four "homes" on the plastic slide frames I added little clusters of patterns and embellishments.

I cut out a large heart from a journal card in the December 2025 Stories By The Month™ kit and used that as an element that's breaking out of the grid created by the plastic slide frames.

On top of the heart I stamped "this is Christmas" from the label stamp set and added a puffy star from the Sticker Advent Calendar. I used red/white twine to gather up three die cuts - added mini gold eyelets to each die cut in order to collect them together to create the hanging element.

On the back I wrote a quick little story about the weekend. I'd already collected the pieces of joy from the time together for the previous story.

After I finished this page I ended up adding a small magnet behind the pull out heart element to help it stay in place when it's in the pocket.

Welcome to Story 20 in my 2025 December Daily® project.

Today's page was originally created for our Prep Day event this past November. I love setting myself up with a story like this that invites me to document something during the month. I spent the past weekend with my parents and I used my Notes app on my phone to collect some joys during my stay down there.

All the set up for this page was done in advance. Today I'm just adding the words to complete the story.
