His email was disturbing because it was in response to an an email he received from my about my Virtual Book Tour with another buddy of mine, Harvey Mackay.

Here’s what Marc wrote me:

Alex, I wanted to let you know this right away … Gmail doesn’t show URLs with initial caps as link. This changed happened recently. For a URL to be a link in Gmail it needs to contain: 1. the “www” and 2. all lowercase . Thought you should know.

Gee, thanks Marc … both my emails for Harvey Mackay were in the queue and sent, so I couldn’t anything about it and I did get over 500 people on that VBT to listen in … but I wonder how many more people could have listened if I was aware of the recent change.

If you’re scratching you head right now say “Huh?” to yourself, then do yourself a favor and watch a 2 min. 5 sec video posted by Frank Bauer. It’s the best explanation I’ve seen and he posted it back on Feb. 10th!

Click here for the video tutorial and please put a ton of comments on Frank’s blog and show him some love :-) Tell him I sent you. His “fluff-free” style of explaining the predicament that Google failed to announce is worth passing on.

What To Do Now: 1) Watch the VIDEO … 2) Comment and share … and as Frank says, 3) Have “an awesome day!”

Article Marketing is the number one source of free traffic on the Internet if you get your Resource Box right. Get this one wrong and you have wasted all your time. Get this one right and you have got it made!

What a Resource Box really is

Call it a Resource Box, Author Bio, etc., what it really is is your opportunity to create a compelling call to action for your reader.

Even though it is called an Author Bio, it is not the time for you to tell the reader all about you and convince them you are an expert. In fact, if you have not demonstrated that you are an expert in your article, it is way to late to try to do it now.

Even though it is an official Call to Action, I like to teach my students and members to use what I call “invitational language” in their Resource Box. Invitational language can be something as simple as “and now I would like to invite you to…” and then name the next action you would like them to take.

This is as opposed to something like “get this great new product now and all your problems will be solved by morning and if you don’t you will be broke forever!”

Sure I’ve exaggerated a bit, but not by much.

Here’s how to do it

You want the Resource Box to

flow right out of your article, since it is then next paragraph in the article. Starting off with “Jim Smith is blah blah blah” is like announcing to the reader that the article is over and they can stop reading now. Not the result you want at all, right?

Instead you can start off with a nice transitional phrase beginning with the word “and.” For example, “And now I would like to…” or “And now you can…” is a great way to begin.

Then, back to my notion of invitational language, you simply invite the reader to take the next action you want them to take. For example, you can day “And now you can claim your free instant access to…” whatever it is you are going to offer them. The invitational language bring them in instead of chasing them off.

Then and only then do I ever mention my name, and then only so that the good information they are about to get is linked in their mind to my name and brand.

Here is a complete example:

And now I would like to invite you to claim your FREE Instant Access to 2 of my Instant Article Creation Templates when you visit <a href="http://www.TheArticleGuyBonus.com" target="_blank">http://www.TheArticleGuyBonus.com

If you’ve ever thought of hosting a conference, workshop or seminar, think instead of tapping into the continuity power of what a Reunion can bring to you and your tribe.

Reunions can be held weekly with professional networking groups like what BNI members do throughout the world, or monthly with private mastermind groups. They can even occur every 60 days such as CEO Space gatherings or annually such as my Teleseminarian Reunion … even every decade like high school reunions.

The time of year or frequency isn’t as important as the gathering power that Reunions create. When I say gathering power, I mean building the sense of belonging or feeling of unity espoused by the members of your community.

And whether those communities are twenty or two-thousand members strong, there are 3 key advantages that Reunions participants have over attending episodic workshops or seminars. These are the 3 unifying elements that espouse more social gathering power:

Unique language or vocabulary

Unique community or culture

Unique facilitation or leadership

If you’re an entrepreneur, small business owner or independent professional with clients and colleagues in your industry, I encourage to think about and act upon hosting your own Reunion at least once a year.

Define who in your tribe is eligible to attend and then set a date each year, each month or each week you’ll gather and connect with each other.

You can start small with an annual group meeting with your Facebook friends or fans of 25 to 50 people. Many family reunions start this way. Here are a few types professional reunions with which you’ve probably already attended:

National Conventions (annual or semi-annual)

Mastermind Groups (weekly or monthly)

Professional Networks (weekly or every 60 days)

Class Reunions (every 5 to 10 years)

If you’re an information marketer like I am, I recommend an annual Reunion gathering so your students and clients can physically meet each other.

I hosted my first Teleseminarian Reunion back in 2007 and my life hasn’t been the same ever since. It takes place each March in San Francisco, CA. It’s a birthday present I give to myself and I keep it intimate to only 150 participants.

The donation is only $300 to cover my costs and all excess proceeds go to Kiva.org to help micro-fund entrepreneurs in developing nations.

The one thing that I believe that makes my Reunion unique is pre-training. If you’ve ever paid for a Teleseminar event, virtual expo or tele0series from me, then you’re eligible to attend my Reunion.

If you make your decision in time, be sure you check out and learn in the special pre-training audios and videos. Click here to check them out now … even if you decide not to attend :-)

What To Do Now: Please comment and share your thoughts on this blog post or on my Facebook video page I’ve I’ve linked for you. Tell me and others how you plan to add Reunions to your marketing mix.

1) You have a “Little Voice” deep inside of you

2) That “Little Voice” doesn’t always support you

It doesn’t matter if your business is booming, or if it’s on life support, your “Little Voice” inside is typically the unseen force that drives you to success or failure in everything you do or don’t do.

Click here to see the Little Voice video if you’re in a hurry.

Let me explain: For the past three decades, my colleague Blair Singer has carefully studied, learned, taught and mastered the secret to winning the war between the ears in 30 seconds or less – and enjoy an extraordinary life.

Let me say that again so it really sinks in …”How to Win the War Between Your Ears in 30 seconds or Less – and Have an Extraordinary Life!” is the subtitle of Blair’s newest book, Little Voice Mastery.

His book’s subtitle is also the promise that he and I intend to keep if you, and nine of your friends, decide to join us for our Little Voice Bookinar Series that starts soon. What I’m talking about here is an unprecedented and remarkable Buy 1, Get 9 Free special offer!

So if you’re an entrepreneur, independent professional or small business owner, then I want to discover Blair’s simple, yet incredibly powerful strategies you can start using immediately to…

Maintain your power in any pressure situation

Stop the debilitating chatter in your mind

Uncover and realize your lifelong dreams easier

Build powerful and lasting confidence faster

Resurrect and rebuild the “hero” inside of you

Embody 21 proven reprogramming techniques

… then click here to get registered for the LVM Bookinar Series … and if you’re not ready to do that yet, then click here to register and listen to our LVM Private Coaching Call.

Key Point: “LVM” stands for Little Voice Mastery. My premise is this: Once you master your Little Voice inside, mastering other parts of your personal and professional life becomes a walk-in-the-park!

If you don’t make the private coaching call on Tuesday, January 26th, get registered anyway because a free replay will be available 24 hours after the broadcast date.

(This training is so important, Robert Kiyosaki has even tossed in a surprise bonus gift!)

Where you end-up in the Think-Play Matrix determines the results you get in your personal and professional life.

Click here in you’re in a hurry to watch the video now.

This simple 4-quadrant model offers an interesting and fresh new perspective into the abundance vs. scarcity mindsets and I’ve chosen it as my topic of discussion on the evening of January 21st, during the Virtual Abundance Expo.

What Is The Think-Play Matrix? Picture an “X-Y Axis” that has a 4-quadrant grid inside it. The “X” axis that runs east and west represents the way you Think. It’s about the “inner game” of the thoughts driven by the head, or what you think about.

The “Y” axis that runs north and south represents the way you Play. It’s more about the “outer game” of what your heart inspires you to do , or how you play.

If the X-axis represents the head and the Y-axis represents the heart, then the 4 possible Think-Play combinations are:<span id="more-1297">

Think Small – Play BIG

Think BIG – Play BIG

Think BIG – Play Small

Think Small – Play Small

Things start getting interesting when you consider how other people fit into this model. I believe that each of the 7 pairs of people think and play differently, even when they face identical topics or circumstances.

Take a moment decide which of the four quadrants each of these 14 famous people fall into:

Equal Rights (Nelson Mandela vs. Al Sharpton)

Personal Branding (Paris Hilton vs. Ivanka Trump)

Investment Advice (Warren Buffett vs. Bernie Madoff)

Handling Infidelity (Bill Clinton vs. Tiger Woods)

Presidential Elections (John McCain vs. Barack Obama)

Hitting Homers (Barry Bonds vs. Hank Aaron)

Attracting Brad Pitt (Angelina Jolie vs. Jennifer Aniston)

Some of the topics may seem a little trivial side or even silly to debate. But I’m mentioning them here because all the people I’ve paired-off are headliners and have appeared on national television, magazines and newspapers.

It gets even more interesting when each of the 4 quadrants are labeled with specific words that describe the mindset of each quadrant.

Here’s how I see the word labels for each:

Think Small (TS) – Play BIG (PB) is about Ignorance

Think BIG (TB) – Play BIG (PB) is about Abundance

Think BIG (TB) – Play Small (PS) is about Arrogance

Think Small (TS) – Play Small (PS) is about Scarcity

You could argue (as one reader did) that the TS-PB Quadrant is about arrogance and the TB-PS Quadrant is about ignorance – that I have it reversed. But I totally disagree.

This may sound harsh, but whenever I observe someone (including myself) who has big ideas (TB), but takes small actions (PS) to manifest those ideas, I consider that as an act of arrogance.

I don’t look at arrogance as something good or bad, I simply look at it as a disparity between mindset (Thinking Big) and heartset (Playing Small).

I realize that arrogance is an emotionally charged for most people, but in the context of the Think-Play Matrix, it is simply a matter of thinking you have more ability than your acquired capability.

Makes sense, doesn’t it?

Similarly, whenever I observe someone who has taken massive action (PB), but has put very little thought behind it (TS), then I see ignorance.

Con men and women fall into TS-PB Quadrant because fear (Playing Small) doesn’t prevent TS-PB people from taking taking massive action. The problem is their thinking destroys and takes away value rather than creating more of it.

Take Bernie Madoff as an example. He took massive action (PB) , but his Small Thinking (thinking he could get away with it) motivated him to steal from thousands of investors who assumed he lived in the TB-PB Quadrant.

Finally, I believe (and you’re welcome to argue this point) that all thoughts and actions begin to germinate in the TS-PS Quadrant and want to have the TB-PB Quadrant as their final destination.

Think about your own experiences for a moment. Whenever you’ve transformed little ideas into big ones to create value yourself and others, didn’t you typically start in the lower-left, TS-PS Quadrant?

In my own experience, it’s never a straight, diagonal path. It’s always curved.

Over the years, I’ve discovered that my biggest ideas (thinking) and actions (playing) took the Ignorance route (via TS-PB) or the Arrogance route (via TB-PB).

I haven’t yet decided which route I prefer, but what I do know is that it’s never a straight diagonal line :-)

What To Do Now: If this discussed provoked any new thoughts on the topic of how you think and play, please comment and share your opinion.
Social Marketing & Article Marketing Expert Jeff Herring invites you to read an article on LIFE: exactly what you should be tweeting about!

Could it be true? Nobody cares about what you “tweet” about on Twitter?

Yes, it could be true.

IF you are just blathering uninteresting stuff about your life and not interacting with anyone.

IF you are DMing people with your latest “Mafia Wars” news (do you even HAVE a life?) or giving someone a gift of “Corona” and demanding a gift back (truly bad form).

It’s sad too, because your could be using your Twitter platform to make a difference in the lives of those who want and need to learn from you.

So then the question becomes “Just what do we tweet about then, Jeff?”

I’m glad you asked. I’ve got a new article all about what to tweet about. Here’s a hint: It’s all about tweeting about LIFE!

Click here to give it a read. The article will pop up in a new window. After you read it, I would like for you to do at least 3 things:

1) Click on the links in the Resource Box so you can get our FREE 4 Part Video Training Series from The Social Marketing Blueprint

2) Leave your comments here on Alex’s blog (gets you a backlink from a top rated blog, and you get to join in the conversation)

3) Go Use This Stuff!

Jeff

Click here if you’re in a hurry to watch the video now.

Please comment & share with my other readers (and viewers) your favorite books to re-view … those books you find yourself reviewing and re-reading again and again and again and again … for new insights, new discoveries, new lessons.

My list is made of 33 books. And I call it my slow-read list because I read and re-read these books slowly, like studying a “how to” course.

Click on the (more…) link below to see the complete list of 33 books.

The morning review – as I indicate in the video – is my private reading time I hold sacred each morning before I check email, voice mail or even get a cup of tea to start my day. It’s the first thing I do … even when I travel.

I set my countdown timer for 33 minutes and then re-view a book from my list of 33 slow-read books in my library that you see in the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=225356668812&ref=mf" target="_blank">video.

To see the complete list of 33 Slow-Read books, click -><span id="more-1291">

You’ll notice Marcus Buckingham, Joe Sugarman William Ury and Roy Williams have more than one title on my 33 slow-read book list. I just enjoy reading what they write because they’re clear thinkers and great writers.

Bookstores and Amazon wouldn’t consider many of the titles I list to be in the marketing/promotion category. But I’m someone who looks through the marketing/promotion lens with everything I read, so all 33 books are remarkably relevant to what I consider marketing/promotion principles.

I suppose my 33 slow-read book list will change from year to year, but my morning review habit will never change. I like to start each day drilling deeper and deeper into a well of knowledge that’s already familiar to me.

I’ve read each of the 33 books at least twice.

Key Point: I’m never the same person I was after I finish reading a book as I was when I first started reading the Table of Contents. And you are probably NOT the same person you are now as you were when you first started reading this post.

As such, I encourage you to review more often than you d0 now and you’ll soon discover new distinctions and insights you didn’t recognize after your first read-through.

What To Do Now: First, please watch the video if you haven’t already done so. Second, review it a second time to see if it seems different to you, or if you make one or more important distinctions compared to the first time.

Finally, please comment on the video and then share your list of favorite books (on any topic) for the rest of the world to read and review on this blog and on my Fan Page.

Happy New Year!
