Automatically created 3D-models from video would be great! However, that’s probably in the future.

I think the 3D-models obtained from oblique imagery is one step in this direction – and probably the two have different main goals?

I think Microsoft for the moment is a small step in the lead vs Google, however I am sure Google will try to catch up again, ie georeferencing images, video and creating 3D-models from this.

When will we get 3D-models created from video only?

Lars; The system is only a proof-of-concept and thus not support any disambiguation (i.e. dragvold -> dragvoll) nor does it contain any precise local knowledge of place names. However, in a developed version this must of course be addressed.

Actually I haven’t tried the Google Transit API. I’ve used Google Transit, but I wasn’t aware that they had an API. Is it possible to add your own transit data to Google? In Trondheim we already have a natural language machine (bussTUC) which is providing answer to route/transit queries. However, I think, as indicated, that a better/alternative interface could be better for it.
