Polaroid Grey Label by Haus of Gaga Presents Sunglasses Camera

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2011 - Polaroid and its Creative Director, Lady Gaga today unveiled Polaroid Grey Label, an original line of products co-designed with Lady Gaga.

Polaroid Chairman Bobby Sager (L) and recording artist Lady Gaga use a mannequin to unveil the Polaroid GL20 Camera Glasses as they debut the Polaroid Grey Label of products Lady Gaga co-designed at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center January 6, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lady Gaga serves as Polaroid's creative director and also helped introduce an instant digital camera and instant mobile printer.

This collaboration between two cultural icons reflects Polaroid's long standing tradition of innovation tracing back to founder Dr. Edwin Land and Lady Gaga's mission to deliver products that enable creativity for all, celebrate artistry and make sharing instantaneous across the physical and digital. The inaugural Polaroid Grey Label line is truly expressive of Lady Gaga's artistic vision and includes the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer, GL30 Instant Digital Camera and the GL20 Camera Glasses, a unique new look at how to turn images into a fashion statement.

"I consider myself to be a visionary, not just a songwriter and a singer. I am an artist," said Lady Gaga, Polaroid's Creative Director. "I brought my vision and love of fashion, technology and obsession with the future into all of my work with Polaroid."

"This (GL20 sunglasses) is the first ever pair of sunglasses that can be worn out to protect your eyes from the sun and they can also take pictures," said Lady Gaga.

The glasses can shoot both photos and video, which is stored in memory embedded in one of the earpieces. The earpiece can be removed and connected via USB to a printer or the images can be transferred via Bluetooth.

The second product, the GL10 mobile photo printer, will be available in March for US$150 and pairs via Bluetooth with any cell phone that supports the standard, except Apple's iPhone. Exclusion of the popular cell phone prompted a few jeers from the audience to which Lady Gaga explained it was an Apple limitation and not a decision on Polaroid's part.

"I suppose many of you here are nerdy enough to carry around a mobile printer with you," she said. "I know I will."

The printer takes a cartridge of 10 sheets of paper.

F.I.Y: Eyebrowed Glasses - Inspired by Prada F/W 2010

Want to make your own eyebrowed glasses as seen at Prada Fall/Winter 2010? Just follow the steps below.

What you'll need:
- Eyeglasses that cost a fraction
- Non-fraying fabric such as felt, leather, suede, etc (+/- 7cm x 7 cm)
- 6 snaps (Clear ones better)
- Sewing thread and needle
- Glue

Steps:
1. Choose the shape of eyebrow you like (We chose Miss J's)
2. Cut the fabric in the shape of eyebrow. 2x left and 2x right.
3. Sew-on the socket section of snaps to the fabric. 3 snaps for each one (1x left and 1x right)
4. Glue the eyebrows that had been stitched with snaps to their counterparts.
5. Glue the ball section of snaps to the eyeglasses frame. Easier if you snap-on the snaps first to the fabric before glue them on.
6. Voilà!

Make the eyebrows in any colors you like. Try to match them with your apparel and have fun with it! Happy New Year 2011!

TIPS:
- Would be so much better with cat eye glasses.
- The use of suede or any leather materials for "eyebrows" will add up luxury.

Being matchy matchy might be working and flattering to the eyes way back when. Yes, we are talking about wearing all yellow, all blue, all green, and any other colors all together. I remember the moment when I was in all green from head to toe and wish that moment never had happened. I looked like a walking "envy" or celery (Good thing I didn't have green hair!). A confirmation has been made that Karl Lagerfeld is designing a capsule collection for Macy's. He is led to believe to follow the footsteps of London designer Kinder Aggugini and Matthew Williamson.

The new Karl Lagerfeld x Macy's collection will be handled by Hong Kong-based sourcing company, Li & Fung, which produces lines for Rachel Zoe, P. Diddy, and Jennifer Lopez's new wares for Kohl's. Maya Carbajal Alex-Hansen was born in Madrid in 1978, daughter of an Argentinian father and a Danish mother. She graduated from Madrid Fashion Design Institute in 2002.

After winning numerous fashion awards and after several successful collaborations with designers, in November 2003, Maya Hansen started producing and selling her own brand 'Maya Hansen'. Then later in 2006 became a corsétière.

She dedicates her time not only to the design corsets but also to the investigation of corset technique based on patterns, materials and textiles from the beginning of 20th century to create a unique and in many cases unrepeatable piece. Her steel boned corsets combine high fashion with European style and traditional corsetry methods and have received recognition from all corners of the fashion industry.
