Information on the Electronic Saviors compilation. To be released Feb. 9th 2010 on Metropolis Records.

Like the city itself, Pittsburgh's dark-electronic music scene encompasses both the clangor of the Industrial Revolution and the buzz-and-click of the Information Age. A consistent mover in that cyber-punk community is Jim Semonik, who's put in a decade of both concert promotion (as Distortion Productions) and live performance, with electro-industrial band Rein[forced]. Semonik's dedication didn't waver during his bout with cancer last year, and he's eager to give back to the medical wizards who saved his life with an anthology called Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer.Saviors has become a monumental undertaking: a four-CD box-set plus a downloadable fifth album, due in February 2010 on goth-industrial juggernaut Metropolis Records. The 80-plus artist lineup includes industrial/EBM legends Combichrist, Chemlab, Suicide Commando, 16 Volt and Leather Strip, and a contingent of local acts likePrometheus Burning and Semonik's group. "It took 90 percent of my free time for the last eight months," Semonik recalls, "but it was well worth it considering the tracks I got -- there's not one filler on the whole thing."

for those that follow, work is still slowly being done. probably the biggest news to announce is that a brand new song will be released on the digital bonus disc of the upcoming Electronic Saviours compilation. if you've not heard about it, it's a benefit compilation to be released on metropolis with all proceeds going to cancer research. featured will be a ton of new/unreleased/reworked tracks from some amazing artists and quite frankly i'm proud as hell to be included.

in album news, there are quite a few tracks written, vocals need recorded and additional tweaking and adjustments need to be made. i'm intentionally fighting my natural urges to rush and push new songs out and i'm hoping the forced patience will yield an album i can stay satisfied with for more than a couple days.

Sunday: uploaded a couple new songs with the launch of the website.

Tuesday: songs are already available on some russian mp3 site.

Wow, that was fast! As a result, I've decided to release the songs myself as a free ep entitled "Loading the Gun" complete with cover art. For those of you that choose to download this (or if you already have from another site) please consider making a donation (I've spent a lot of time and money on music over the years, so any help paying the rent is truly appreciated!) Otherwise, I hope you will consider purchasing the completed album when it is complete. Thanks to all that have shown enthusiasm for my music the last couple days. It is greatly appreciated!

aimonia.com is now active. i've tried to integrate and utilize sites that everyone is already familiar with and most likely members of in an attempt to make a seamless and enjoyable online experience for all of you. direct links to these sites are across the bottom of the page. newly created are a flickr account with a few photos of myself, but mostly of my artwork and photography and a youtube channel that, while currently empty, i have a lot of ideas for. also, in honor of the update, i've released two more songs ("Pride" and "Choke") all the released songs are still in the "rough mix" stage and may further suffer my obsessive compulsive tweaking, but i hope you enjoy them, nonetheless. as always, i appreciate any and all feedback on the site and songs, so feel free to send me a message anytime.
