BioCurex Shareholders Overwhelmingly Approve Increase in Company's Capitalization and Name Change

RICHMOND, British Columbia, Oct. 28, 2009 -- Whispering Oaks International, Inc., d/b/a BioCurex (OTCBB:BOCX) announced today that at a special meeting of shareholders on October 27, 2009, its shareholders overwhelmingly approved the proposals to change its legal name to BioCurex, Inc. and to increase the Company's capitalization to 450,000,000 shares of common stock. The Company has been conducting business under the trade name "BioCurex." The proposals were approved by more than 70% of the shares eligible to vote at the meeting and by more than 95% of the voted shares.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of the shareholders meeting," said Dr. Ricardo Moro, the Company's Chief Executive Officer. "On behalf of the board of directors and management, I want to thank our shareholders for their support and confidence."

"Over the past several years we have built recognition for the name 'BioCurex,' which we believe more accurately describes our goals and what we do. In addition, the increase in the Company's capitalization allows us to proceed with our plans to raise money in a registered public offering of our securities. Earlier this month we filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a $6 million equity offering. Successful completion of this financing will provide us with capital to continue our development efforts, pursue regulatory approvals and commercialization of the point-of-care rapid test format of our RECAF(TM) cancer marker testing technology, and to commence marketing our other test formats in sectors where regulatory approvals are not required."

The Company also announced that its board of directors has appointed Antonia Bold de Haughton, the Company's senior administrator, as a member of the Company's board of directors and corporate secretary and that Gladys Chan, CGA, the Company's comptroller has been appointed as the Company's new chief financial officer. These appointments are effective immediately. With Ms. Bold de Haughton's appointment, the number of directors constituting the Company's entire board of directors stands at five.

"Both Antonia and Gladys have been loyal, dedicated and valuable employees. I am extremely pleased that the board has recognized their contributions to BioCurex and has seen fit to reward them with these appointments," said Dr. Moro. "Antonia has been with the company since its inception and also has served as a director of other public reporting companies. As such, she brings a wealth of experience to our board. Gladys has served as our comptroller for over four years and is intimately familiar with our business and finances."

BioCurex Presents Positive Results At International Oncology and Biomarkers Congress With Its RECAF(TM) Cancer Marker

RICHMOND, British Columbia, Sept. 29, 2009 -- Whispering Oaks International, Inc., d/b/a Biocurex (OTCBB:BOCX), announced today that it is making two presentations at the annual meeting of the International Society of Oncology and Biomarkers (ISOBM) being held this week in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. BioCurex's presentations address its RECAF cancer market test in combination with other currently used cancer markers: CA-125 for ovarian cancer and CEA for colorectal cancer.

The company's data show that combining RECAF with CA-125 detected 83% of ovarian cancers and combining RECAF with CEA detected 92% of colorectal cancers, with no false positives in either study. False positives are the most common reasons that most cancer marker tests are not useful for general screening. By combing the results of RECAF with these other cancer markers, the false positive rate was completely eliminated.

In addition, when the method was applied to very early stages of ovarian cancer, where a very high percentage of patients can be treated effectively, the combination test was still able to detect 75% of the cancer cases.

Dr. Moro, the Company's Chief Executive Officer, stated: "This is an important step ahead because CA-125 and CEA have been around for decades and combining them with RECAF provides a solution to the main problem with screenings: namely eliminating false positives while still detecting cancer cases at a high rate."

BioCurex Introduces OncoPet(tm), a RECAF(tm) Blood Test for Cancer Detection in Companion Animals

No Regulatory Approvals Required Prior to Commercialization

RICHMOND, British Columbia, June 17, 2009 -- BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB:BOCX) today announced that it has developed OncoPet(tm), a version of its RECAF(tm) blood test to be used for cancer detection in dogs.

The new test performance matches that of its human counterpart: In a study including 116 dogs with cancer and 150 control dogs, the test detected 85% of the animals with a variety of cancers at the standard 95% specificity level (i.e. 5% false positives).

Consultations with the pertinent Government agencies in the USA and Canada indicate that neither the "homebrew" tests for veterinary use, nor the production facilities require regulatory approval.

Given the absence of regulatory delays as well as the fact that the technology is ready for use, the Company expects to take OncoPet(tm) to market within the next few months and to that effect, it has already registered the www.oncopet.net domain.

Marketing research indicates that the fastest and most profitable approach to commercialization of this product is to offer the testing service directly to veterinarians, to be done in conjunction with routine blood work. In British Columbia over 120,000 blood tests are carried out on pets every year. In addition, BioCurex shall consider licensing these tests to large veterinary diagnostic companies on a non-exclusive basis. The use of RECAF for veterinary purposes is not included in the current licensing agreements with Abbott Laboratories and Inverness Medical Innovations.

There are approximately 75 million dogs in the United States - that is a dog for every 4 people - and on average their owners spend $219 per year on veterinary visits(1). Overall, 4 out of 1,000 dogs get cancer every year(2). "It is the number one cause of death among dogs and cats in the United States, Europe, and Japan," says Dr. Greg Ogilvie, a professor at Colorado State University and a world expert in veterinary oncology. More than 50% of all dogs ultimately die of cancer, and some breeds, like golden retrievers and boxers, have even higher cancer rates. In fact, pets are more likely to get cancer during their lifetimes than their owners(3).

Statistics reveal that almost all pet owners feel a strong human-animal bond. About 49.7% of survey respondents consider pets to be part of the family, and 48.2% consider pets to be companions4. Between 1996 and 2006 the number of dog-owning households that spent $1,000 or more per year on visits to the veterinarian quadrupled - from 2.2% to 8.4%4. During 2006, dogs averaged 1.5 visits to the veterinarian(4).

Dr. Moro stated: "OncoPet(tm) is our response to generate revenue as quickly as possible. It is now ready for use and it requires no approvals that would excessively delay its launching. Marketing in North America is straight forward and the veterinarians we consulted are enthusiastic about the potential the test has to offer. Other markets such as Europe and Japan may be accessed via licensing or distribution agreements. OncoPet(tm) is now ready for use with dogs, but we anticipate it will also be as effective for cats, which approximately doubles the market size.

On June 3rd, Pfizer announced that the Food and Drug Administration has approved the first cancer drug, named Palladia(tm), made specifically to treat cancer in dogs(5). The ability to diagnose cancer with OncoPet(tm) and treat it with Palladia(tm) presents an intriguing synergy."

Moro added: "Finally, it is of paramount importance to keep in mind that this RECAF test for companion animals is not a substitution for our RECAF tests to be used in human patients but rather an addition aimed to accelerate revenue generation while the human tests get to market."

About BioCurex:

BioCurex, Inc. is a biotechnology company that is developing products based on patented/proprietary technology in the areas of cancer diagnosis, imaging and therapy. The technology identifies a cancer marker known as RECAF(tm), which is found on malignant cells from a variety of cancer types but is absent in most normal or benign cells.

BioCurex has signed licensing agreements for its cancer detection blood tests with Abbott Laboratories and with Inverness Medical Innovations (for further information on these agreements see: http://sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1... ).

The cancer marker RECAF(tm) has emerged as a potential biomarker that may be useful in the development of new cancer diagnostics tests. Preliminary studies from the investigators at BioCurex have reported a high level of clinical sensitivity and specificity for RECAF in many of the most common cancers, including prostate, breast, colorectal, lung and others.

Please be advised that Dr. Moro wanted to make the following points known to everyone on this discussion forum. They have not been edited by AGORACOM. Here is what Dr. Moro had to say:

1) We have progressed significantly in the past few weeks toward obtaining further financing and we shall make the corresponding announcements once we have a concrete deal. The depressed share price has helped the process and we have heard comments in support of that concept from members of some of the financing groups we are working with.

2) The company's note holders are aware of our efforts and they are participating in some of the discussions related to financing.

3) Inverness continues its work on RECAF as anticipated.

4) Our lab and office continues to operate as it has in the past few months.

5) The collaboration with Goshen continues and we are in the process of increasing the number of samples previously studied.

6) We have significantly advanced in our effort to generate revenue in the near future aside from China. We'll be more explicit on this topic at a later date.

7) Given our current cash position, our BioCurex China initiative is delayed for the time being. BioCurex China will be set in high gear immediately after we secure financing.

8) Many of the questions we receive and comments we read are the result of a personal perception on how things work, or should work. Unfortunately in some cases the world does not work the way it should. For example, a YouTube video (which requires cash and/or time) will not result in the FDA fast tracking anything.

9) Some of our shareholders have supported us with private placements, which we greately appreciate. They have been instrumental in keeping us going at this diffult time. We expect they will be rewarded if and when things start moving back to normal. Investors interested in making a private placement can contact us at (604) 207 9150.

When I say that I cannot answer questions I expect your understanding and your trust. It is either because (a) there is nothing to say, (b) I find it inconvenient to release information or (c) I am using my time in a way that I think is more productive for you. On this subject, while I reserve the right to decide which questions I will answer and which one I won't, my silence should never be interpreted as an attempt to hide bad information.

We are currently concentrating in the big picture, namely financing and generating revenue; we'll take the time to address the smaller issues later on. I appreciate your pacience and your support and I am doing everything I can to reward them.

[Industry Bulletin] PSA Test Found to Save Few Lives

AGORACOM Investor Relations is pleased to bring you this Industry Report and how it can impact Biocurex (BOCX: OTCBB). An article in today’s New York Times reports that PSA Tests, used to screen for prostate cancer, saves few lives and leads to risky and unnecessary treatments for large numbers of men according to two studies.

According to the article, the findings confirm some longstanding concerns about the PSA tests and the wisdom of using it for widespread prostate cancer screening. The studies are continuing but so far the results are considered significant and the most definitive to date.

The article states: “Dr. Peter B. Bach, a physician and epidemiologist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, says one way to think of the data is to suppose he has a PSA test today. It leads to a biopsy that reveals he has prostate cancer, and he is treated for it. There is a one in 50 chance that, in 2019 or later, he will be spared death from a cancer that would otherwise have killed him. And there is a 49 in 50 chance that he will have been treated unnecessarily for a cancer that was never a threat to his life.”

The article calls into question the use of the PSA test by saying: “As soon as the PSA test was introduced in 1987, it became a routine part of preventive health care for many men age 40 and older. Experts debated its value, but their views were largely based on less compelling data that often involved statistical modeling and inferences. Now, with the new data, cancer experts said men should carefully consider the possible risks and benefits of treatment before deciding to be screened.”

Both reports were published online Wednesday by The New England Journal of Medicine. One involved 182,000 men in seven European countries; the other, by the National Cancer Institute, involved nearly 77,000 men at 10 medical centers in the United States.

BioCurex’s patented RECAF technology has shown that it can detect many forms of cancer, including prostate cancer, with 90% accuracy through a simple non-invasive blood test. It is not known at this time the future of the PSA test, but the article does suggest the need for a much more effective test for prostate cancer that BioCurex is trying to address.

We thank those for their contributions and we also thank you for your patience. Neither the questions to Dr. Moro, nor the answers provided by him, were edited by AGORACOM.

From: Erthang
Title: Good Dr.

Body:

Being that I am one of your largest investor's w/ approximately $250K invested, "concerned" would be an understatement. Silence is deafening. I am thinking of all of the company's liabilities (Smithline), costs of doing business and research expenses. Then, I think of the unchartered waters that will be necessary for you to navigate through in these uncertain economic times to bring a viable and sought after product to market. I'm not necessarily losing faith, but I am beginning to lose sleep. Do you anticipate any good news on the horizon??? I am scared I could lose my name's sake, "Erthang"!

There are many irons on the fire and if we have not yet made any announcements it is because there is nothing concrete to announce yet. Sometimes this happens and then we have a bunch of announcements coming out in short sequence. Rest assured that we are doing our best to move ahead. Times are difficult but we have seen them and overcome them before. And today we are much better positioned now than we were then.

Company: BioCurex
From: i_invest_utrade
Title: Patent Approval

Body:

On July 29, 2008 Biocurex announced that they were filing for new patent protection.

http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/080729/04200...

When does Biocurex expect this patent to be approved?

There is no way to tell. The process is as follows: First we filed a “provisional” application, which gives us a date in case someone else comes up with the same idea. Within 12 months, the provisional application must be made effective, best via the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) because that allows for less expensive multi-country application. Then, the patent goes to the national stage for each country or for example, in the EU to the European Patent Agency, which is then followed by an application in each country. As you can see, this IS a lengthy process because we want to include many countries. However, the patent protection is provided from the time of the filing (the patent is then “pending”). That means that if someone tries to infringe it, they could be liable for (a) all the money they made (b) damages to the owner of the patent and (c) punitive damages. The owner of the patent has a very strong case only and when the patent is finally granted and if it is not, then the infringer can get away with it. However, given the long time it takes to get the patent granted, very few if any try to infringe a patent, because if the patent gets granted, then the amount they owe the patent owner is huge. One other point merits discussion: The patent office does not ‘require’ more information (by the way, the FDA proceeds similarly). Instead, they simply reject the application and the applicant then addresses the deficiencies and resubmits using the same number, thus maintaining the filing date. Thus, a rejection by a patent office is not an indication that the patent will not be accepted in the future but rather an integral part of the process of obtaining a patent.

Is this patent application a major roadblock in the commercialization of ELISA-RECAF, SERUM-RECAF, or RIA-RECAF? or all three?

Not at all; we do not need that patent to commercialize either technology. We filed it because it relates to crucial aspects necessary in the manufacturing of the test components and provides the company with an extra 20 years of protection.

Does the unresolved status of this application delay the licensing of Biocurex's imaging, and/or therapeutic technology?

No. What is delaying the licensing of other applications is that given the current market conditions, all of our efforts and resources are now re-directed to generate cash flow from the blood tests.

Company: BioCurex
From: Lawman
Title: Conferance?

Body:

Are we the shareholders going to recieve a update as to what was presented at the conference in Spain?

We addressed the conference in Spain in a recent press release.

Company: BioCurex
From: Half Full Glass
Title: Piggy Backing a non competing FDA Trial

Body:

Dr. Moro,

Is it possible or probable to piggy back on an upcoming trial. It is my understanding that FDA trials are very expensive. If a company was already assembling say 1000 people with X cancer and was already paying for blood to be drawn and etc. etc the trial costs would be mostly covered.

Recaf tests do not pose any physical harm to an individual. All we need is blood / Saliva and if the current trial was already geared similar to the other parameters we are looking for..well you get the idea.

The company sponsoring the trial could be given x percentage of future Recaf sales as an incentive to allow the piggy back...

We are discussing exactly this with a well know company in the industry that does FDA approvals as a business. The problem is the cost per application ($1M-$1.5M). They have a library of samples that they use for several clients, which according to them include several major diagnostic companies. They do not take anything but cash (I think because of the conflict of interest, but I am not sure) and we are trying to find alternative solutions to this issue. Also, there is a second group that has approached us but it is too early to comment.

From: Half Full Glass
Title: ultimate goal of commercializing our RECAF technology

Body:

You had expressed that we would "soon" reach commercialization but It is difficult to tell where the first revenues will come from; our licensees or direct sales. While not mentioning either of the licensees so as not to cause any difficulties... am I reading this correctly that soon may be our China Venture and or one one of our licensees? We are all looking forward to either but it would be very comforting to hear that mass tests are forthcoming. Please see the below paragraphs from two separate letters to understand where this question was derived from. Any update on either front would greatly be appreciated.

Quite frankly, I do not know which will be first. Also, I would not restrict it to China because we are simultaneously working on similar initiatives in other countries. That is why I said above that there are several irons in the fire. While manual tests could generate revenue first and, given our low budget allow us to break even sooner, the big bucks are with the licensee. One more thing: We have one more semi-exclusive license to issue and the corresponding down payment is another potential source of revenue.

Company: BioCurex
From: dude2
Title: Update

Body:

In the update you sent to shareholders dated October 10, 2008, you stated you were in the early stages of negotiations with other companies and that hopefully by the end of 2008 you would have more licensees: are those same negotiations still ongoing?

We were discussing with two companies that by chance went into mergers during our conversations. One requested some months to revisit the issue and the other is still talking but as it usually happens in these cases, we’ll have to wait for the dust to settle before anything concrete happens with them. In the meantime, it is very likely that we’ll be further advanced with someone else.

Since Biocurex has full control of the project in China can you legally give us a update on any progress made towards commmercialization of your technology in China.

Not yet.

Company: BioCurex
From: i_invest_utrade
Title: RECAF studies

Body:

Dr. Moro:

Would you say that the Serum-RECAF diagnostic test has completed a series of restrospective studies?

Is the Serum-RECAF test entering a stage of prospective studies?

What is the status of other RECAF tests in terms of restrospective and prospective studies?

Could you please supply answers for RIA, Serum, ELISA, Saliva, and Urine?

For retrospective and prospective I am using definitions from the Canary Foundation.

Prospective Study - A research study that follows individuals over time, and compares samples from, groups of individuals who are alike in many ways but differ by a certain characteristic and compares them for a particular outcome. An example of a prospective study is one that follows a set of female nurses who smoke and another set that does not smoke and compares rates of development of lethal lung cancer between those two groups. [definition from NCI]

Retrospective Study - A study that compares samples collected in the past from two groups of people: those with the disease or condition under study (cases) and a very similar group of people who do not have the disease or condition (controls). For example, one group may have cancer and one group may be healthy, or one group may have lethal cancer and another group may have non-lethal cancer. Also called a case-control study. [definition from NCI]

I cannot comment on this yet since it relates to some of the collaborations we discussed during the congresses in Barcelona. By the way, there is a way to do some prospective studies retrospectively (!): Scientists in hospitals working on this field keep patients samples frozen. Thus, you can get an entire collection of samples say taken at monthly intervals for each patient over a period of several years, along with the clinical history of the patient. If we wanted to study the usefulness of RECAF to monitor cancer recurrence, we would test all those samples, from the one previous to surgery to the last sample over a period of months or years and see if the blood RECAF increased before a clinical recurrence. That way, instead of waiting for months or years to complete the study, the time it takes is the time to do the tests.

Company: BioCurex
From: Half Full Glass
Title: Ulterior motives

Body:

Dr. Moro,

It is obvious that some person or persons are intentionally driving the share price lower. The last trade today was for 1000 shares at .065. this would equate to $65 dollars minus a $8 commission = $57.00

I know times are tough right now but I have a hard time believing that someone needed an extra $57.00 to survive on.

Some can argue that the markets operate on a true supply and demand and that this activity is all on the up and up. I believe it is not, nor has it been in the recent past. I understand that it is based on very small volume but enough is enough.

Do you know who might be able to look into the true trading activities of BOCX in the recent past to verify that we are not being targeted by a group intentionally driving the price down for ulterior motives?

Yes, the SEC. Unfortunately it is not reasonable to expect that they would respond to every company complaining that their stock is being manipulated.

In reference to depressing the market with that small amount, the opposite is probably also true; some buying would bring the price up. We have 3,500 shareholders and I am not suggesting that they do this, but if each one of them bought $1,000 (which is a small amount for anyone playing the market), that would represent $3.5M of buying which one would think it would result in a substantial price increase. Of course, I cannot recommend, request or suggest that you do that, because it could be construed as solicitation. I am just bringing it to your attention because you are the owners of this company and that appears to be an obvious way to protect your previous investment.

While that would certainly help the market, the money would not go into the company. For that, we need private placements, as we have done so many times before and we hope to continue doing in the future. Should you be interested in making one, our phone number is (604) 207 9150.

[Press Release] BioCurex Reports on RECAF Results at European Symposium

BioCurex Reports On Presentation of RECAF Results At the 'XII International Symposium On Biology and Clinical Usefulness of Tumor Markers' Held in Europe

RICHMOND, British Columbia, Feb. 19, 2009 - BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB:BOCX) today reported on its RECAF presentation at this international cancer congress held in Barcelona, Spain.

Four months ago, BioCurex, represented by Dr. Ricardo Moro, was invited to present results on its cancer marker RECAF at this prestigious meeting. The congress gathered close to 400 specialists in cancer markers worldwide, with the majority being from Europe, where cancer markers are extensively used and BioCurex holds issued patents.

This meeting is very focused on the clinical uses of tumor markers and it brings together physicians who use cancer markers, clinical chemists who carry out the tests and companies that develop or produce tests for cancer diagnosis. It is an ideal forum to present results on a novel cancer marker and as such, BioCurex's RECAF draw a great deal of attention.

Dr. Moro's presentation - in a plenary session - was very well received and as a result, two top clinical chemistry groups expressed an interest in developing collaborations with BioCurex to independently validate the usefulness of RECAF in the clinical environment as well as to further advance the research on this marker. The directors of these teams are members of the European Group on Tumor Markers, an institution heavily involved in creating the recommendations for the use of cancer markers in the European Union, which are also followed by other countries. These two scientists have published over 250 scientific papers on the use of cancer markers.

Dr. Moro stated: "We are very pleased with the interest elicited by our results. These collaborations translate into several important elements for BioCurex:

* They will work completely independently from BioCurex and therefore
the data thus produced can be used for regulatory purposes not only
in Europe, but also in America.

* They will perform all the work at their expense with the exception
of the cost of the tests, which BioCurex will initially provide
free of cost.

* The two groups evaluate and publish results for diagnostic products
marketed by large diagnostic companies, including Abbott and Roche,
and therefore their opinions and recommendations are important for
companies working in the field.

* Finally, since these scientists are leaders in the field; their
independent validation of our results may prompt of other
scientists to work with RECAF, which besides the obvious scientific
impact could also become a source of revenue.

We are honored by their interest to work with us and we are looking forward to developing these collaborations in the near future, as well as continuing the ones that we have already established."

The following are recent questions submitted to this board along with Dr. Moro's responses. Neither the questions, nor the answers have been edited by AGORACOM.

On another note, AGORACOM would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Here are your questions and answers:

From: newbie21
Title: Is selling the company an option?

Body:

Dr. Moro. In the latest filing, the current cash position is $90,000 which is not enough to continue current operations. If you cannot obtain more funding to pay the loan, will the lack of money cause the company be sold? Does the hedge fund have any lien on the latest patents or any additional patent grants? Does the hedge fund have any lien on BioCurex China?

View the message: http://agoracom.com/ir/Biocurex/mess...

1) Operations have NOT been interrupted.
2) There is no intention of Management to sell the Company
3) We have not received any offers to buy out the Company or its technology or patents
4) The hedge fund has as a guarantee, all the assets of the Company; that includes all patents granted or pending and any subsidiaries
5) We have NOT received a notice of default from the lenders.

All that said, the Company is NOT in default. Anyone who takes over the patents becomes responsible for maintaining them and the pending applications. That costs money and knowledge of the technology. Also, the hedge fund would have to transform itself into a technology bazaar since they seem to have dozens of clients in the same situation. Finally, to license the technology, we needed to demonstrate it. How would a hedge fund do this? No, what they want is to recover their money and for that we need to work together. The previous comments are of a general nature and relate to public knowledge on the Company. I cannot add any specific information until our conversations with the hedge fund result in a concrete plan of action that will be made public in the corresponding filings and/or press release.

From: i_invest_utrade
Title: In Publication

Body:

Has BioCurex submitted any papers to any peer-reviewed or scientific journal?

There are several papers published on RECAF. The latest applying to the ability of RECAF to detect cancer cells are one by Tsuboi et al “High level of expression of alpha-fetoprotein receptor in gastric cancers.”, Tumour Biol. 2006;27(6):283-8 and Moro et. al, “A new broad-spectrum cancer marker”, IVD Technology Issue June 2005. A search for Moro AFP in www.scholar.google.com brings up a list of publications related to RECAF.

Does the company plan on submitting any papers before they enter into any more agreements?

We do not know when new agreements will take place. We are writing two papers to be submitted to peer-reviewed scientific journals and we have data to publish several more.

What would be the reason for not publishing data besides waiting for patent protection?

Patent protection is the main one. A scientific paper is based on the premise that the reader can reproduce the results described. This implies publicly disclosing know-how that is part of the value of the technology. Another issue is time; it takes several weeks to write a paper and it demands a certain degree of concentration. Another reason why we have not published more is that we concentrated our efforts on demonstrating the technology to future licensees rather than writing papers. Finally, the best publications for us are those coming from collaborations with independent labs. Since we are on this subject, we have been asked why aren’t there more labs working on the subject. To create a snowball of publications, a few initial papers need to describe the materials and methods used. This way everyone can repeat what is published and advance it to the next step. If we did that, we would see a great deal of papers appearing in the next 5 years, but we would also see a number of patents restricting our current dominance on the subject. Thus, it seemed better to first engage some heavy weight licensees first.

From: mitcheroo
Title: Too good to be true

Body:

Some years ago I owned shares in a small company that had developed software which let people with little or no programming skills develop their own business application software.

But their biggest roadblock was the attitude encountered from many potential clients: The software's claimed capabilities were seen as just "too good to be true", even after successful demonstrations.

Is Biocurex's RECAF bumping into this same wall from the professional medical or pharmaceutical establishments? Has Dr. Moro and company been forced to struggle against an entrenched Too-Good-to-be-True Syndrome?

All the time! To the point that at the beginning, I met scientists, who should have an open mind, not even interested in testing our reagents to prove us wrong! I think some colleagues who play a great deal of politics in their academic positions have a problem with the magnitude of the conclusions: They fear that if they publish results similar to ours and later on there is something wrong, then their name will be associated with a blunder (this was actually the case with CEA. After the initial exuberant celebrations, a few papers came out showing that CEA was a not a cancer specific marker; instead the anti-CEA antibodies reacted with another substance. It took several years and many papers to finally establish that the original results were right and that it is a useful cancer marker).

From: DockingStation
Title: Dr. Moro... will you take legal action...?

Body:

Dr. Moro, do you see reason to take legal action against the poster Biotech Bonanza for slandering your name and the company as a whole, in nis many posts at iHub (as Gold Seeker)?

I assume you know that he is James K and you have had past dealings with him. I would appreciate if you would acknowledge what relationship you have had in the past with this poster... and whether you are going to hit him with a lawsuit. It gets to a point in which one would assume that he is truthful in all his bashing and libelous tirades, if this is left unaddressed. Clearly he knows you personally and you know him.

I believe many of us would appreciate a response from you on this matter. Thank you.

View the message: http://agoracom.com/ir/Biocurex/mess...

Yes, it is possible that we proceed in that direction. If we decide to move ahead, we shall invite our shareholders who feel they have been wronged by this individual, to participate in the legal action. If we win, it will not only be fair, but it will also teach a lesson to other systematic bashers that there is a risk in doing what they do. We would concentrate our claims on what is evident; his intention to manipulate down the price of the stock. As I explained before, if someone uses true statements with the INTENTION to manipulate the stock, they may be subject to legal action. I have commented on the contents of his posts more than once and I refer you to my previous comments. Suffice it to say that (a) most of the time, the Golden Oracle knows not what he is talking about and yet he uses a lecturing style that projects the impression he does and (b) he has 4-5 recurring themes that he regurgitates time and time again. At this point, money is tight and it would be foolish to waste it on such an unworthy cause. However, he cannot help himself and he will continue posting. The messages in all the boards where he posts are being saved for later use should we decide to move ahead with a legal action.

From: i_invest_utrade
Title: Inverness Updates

Body:

Dr. Moro can you provided us with any information about the direction of the Inverness relationship?

I understand that you receive quarterly updates and I am wondering if there is anything you can tell us about their progress or intentions ragarding the RECAF technology.

Is there anything you can tell us that is not privileged?

The relationship with Inverness is moving forward as expected. They have a very committed team to the RECAF project and we are working very hard together to reach the goals we set forth. Unfortunately I cannot comment beyond this.

From: i_invest_utrade
Title: Biocurex Cash Position

Body:

Has Biocurex secured enough cash to continue operating beyond December 2008?
From the latest Form-10-Q
"As of November 14, 2008 Biocurex has cash on hand of approximately
$90,000. Biocurex is presently spending approximately $200,000 each month on
research and development, principal and interest payments to the Note Holders,
and general and administrative expenses.
5
<PAGE>
To maintain its present level of operations, including research and
development, and to avoid defaulting on payments to the Note Holders, Biocurex
will need to raise approximately $4,000,000 to satisfy its monthly cash
requirements until the notes are fully paid."

View the message: http://agoracom.com/ir/Biocurex/mess...

This question cannot be answered in this forum. It refers to a SEC filing and therefore the response should be posted in another SEC filing, which will be eventually the case. Suffice it to say that we anticipate that we’ll be fully operational after December 31st, 2008. I should add “and possibly in the months that follow” with the emphasis on the word “possibly” as a disclaimer since 2008 has taught us to be cautious about predictions.

Another question that was asked recently is why China first. The answer is because of circumstances; we have the right people, location and product and therefore it makes good business sense to take advantage of the opportunity, while working on the other fronts. It is easier to launch elsewhere for reasons related to the USA FDA requirements.

One last point: Some of our shareholders feel that we do not communicate enough with them. I believe we do and particularly in view of the fact that most public companies have one day a year (General Meeting) in which shareholders (not the general public) can ask questions. I answer questions from everybody – whether they are shareholders or not – and I do it often compared to what our fiduciary obligations require. There are things that I cannot comment on, because they are not finished, or because it is not convenient from a business or a strategic point of view or because we are gagged by a confidentiality agreement. The economy here and in the rest of the world is amidst very rough times. We have survived the crisis of 2002, when the share price at the end of that year dropped to 4-5 cents. Two years later, we were at $2.30. I believe that we can make it this time too, as long as the market conditions do not get to the point it is impossible to raise any money. It is worth noting that this time not only we have a technology that we can license to another large company, but we also have a product that we can sell directly.

I would like to finish by wishing our shareholders and the staff from Agoracom.com very Happy Holidays and our best wishes for 2009. Dr. Ricardo. Moro.

[Press Release] NEWS - BioCurex Incorporates Chinese Subsidiary, Prepares to Tap World’s Largest Cancer-Testing Market

RICHMOND, British Columbia, Nov 5th, 2008 -- BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB: BOCX - News) has incorporated a fully-owned subsidiary, BioCurex China, in Shanghai. This followed a lengthy legal process – required of all foreign companies – that took several months to complete.

The subsidiary will initially operate as a clinical laboratory for RECAF testing and will serve both local hospitals and physicians.

This expansion is completely separate from the licensing agreements Biocurex has with Abbott Laboratories and Inverness Medical Innovations. There is no direct or indirect collaboration with these licensees on this Chinese venture, which relates solely to BioCurex’s determination to accelerate the commercialization of its technologies.

There are several major points worth noting, as to the “how” and “why” of this expansion.

(1) No new financing from the market will be required – thus there will be no share dilution.

(2) At least initially, the revenue from these manual assays marketed in China won’t be comparable to the far greater anticipated revenue to come from Abbott, Inverness and any third licensee. These companies remain BioCurex’s #1 priority.

(3) Fast, low cost cancer detection fills a universal need. This is particularly applicable for emerging nations with limited resources and low labor costs. In these markets, a manual assay is affordable, while automated instruments are out of reach. To launch this program, BioCurex is establishing itself in the largest city in the world’s largest nation, Shanghai – making it highly cost-effective and an ideal test market.

(4) “Home brew” tests in clinical labs generally require less regulatory approvals than commercial kits – making them ideal for expanding into other regions.

(5) In a second stage, marketing in China will be extended to other large cities such as Beijing, Tianjin and Hong Kong. In addition, BioCurex China will seek distribution of the finished kits to other clinical laboratories throughout the rest of the country.

The technical and regulatory aspects of BioCurex China will be managed by a former BioCurex scientist, who moved back to Shanghai after helping to develop the RECAF technology. Legal and accounting issues will be handled by independent firms reporting directly to BioCurex Inc.

In its previous licensing agreements, BioCurex has reserved the right to manufacture, sell and license manual RECAF blood tests to an unrestricted number of clients or licensees. Again, while we anticipate that the bulk of our future revenue will originate from our semi-exclusive licensees, this first direct step towards commercialization represents an important move forward for Biocurex. It also offers the potential for generating significant sales within a relatively short time.

Dr. Ricardo Moro, BioCurex’ CEO, comments: “We are particularly excited by this development but we realize that it will not be a substitute for future revenues from licensees.

“It will give us the opportunity to commercialize our RECAF technology for the first time and provide us with a revenue stream. Just as important, we will also have the freedom to expand this manual testing as quickly as possible, without being at the mercy of our licensees, time-frame.

“While royalties from our semi-exclusive licensees will likely represent the bulk of our revenues, our monthly expenses are very low and it is anticipated that net revenue from manual assays will exceed them in a short period of time.

“The recent change in the world’s economy poses a challenge to high technology companies in the process of commercializing their technologies. Our response to that challenge is to focus all of our resources in generating revenue as soon as possible, from signing a third semi-exclusive licensing agreement to commercializing manual tests. It is difficult to tell where the first revenues will come from; our licensees or direct sales, but working on all fronts in parallel maximizes our opportunities and expedites the process. To the best of our knowledge, no other technology can match this product. The profit margin should be considerable.”

Dear shareholders,

Warren Buffet, renowned investor and op-ed contributor to the New York Times states;

A simple rule dictates my buying: Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful. And most certainly, fear is now widespread, gripping even seasoned investors. To be sure, investors are right to be wary of highly leveraged entities or businesses in weak competitive positions. But fears regarding the long-term prosperity of the nation’s many sound companies make no sense. These businesses will indeed suffer earnings hiccups, as they always have. But most major companies will be setting new profit records 5, 10 and 20 years from now.

RICHMOND, British Columbia, October 15, 2008 -- BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB: BOCX - News) – wishes to update its shareholders on its participation in the international annual meeting of the International Society for Oncology and Bio-Markers (ISOBM).

The Company was represented by Dr. Moro, who did two presentations: One related to the advent of its new RECAF-ELISA, the most popular format for immunoassays in most clinical and research laboratories. In the other presentation, Dr. Moro overviewed the RECAF cancer marker biology and presented results obtained in the Company’s lab as well as from collaborations with other laboratories. The presentation focused on gastrointestinal cancers and it included results obtained with radio-immunoassay (RIA), chemiluminescence (CIA) and enzyme-immunoassay (ELISA). The recently announced results obtained with saliva samples triggered the interest of the session participants.

As a result, scientists from seven centers located in the USA, Europe, Japan or Israel have proposed, agreed, or have expressed an interest in carrying out collaborations with BioCurex.

The Company has previously engaged in collaborative work with three of these laboratories and the results have been published or presented at other congresses. The conversations with scientists from these groups centered on future work using the RECAF-ELISA format.

Three other collaborations relate to the validation and systematic study of RECAF on serum samples and a fourth one is focused on tumor imaging using anti-RECAF antibodies. The feasibility of these collaborations is not the same for all of them and two might require securing funds to carry out the work before starting.

In addition to these collaborations, Dr. Moro discussed its RECAF cancer marker potential uses with representatives from other companies present at the event.

Finally, following the presentations, Dr. Moro was invited to present results on RECAF at another international symposium on cancer markers to be held in Barcelona, in February next year.

RICHMOND, British Columbia, Oct 3rd, 2008 -- BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB: BOCX - News) -- today announced results showing that its RECAF test can detect cancer with high sensitivity and specificity using a small sample of saliva. The work was done as part of an ongoing collaboration with the Goshen Center for Cancer Care in Indiana.

Saliva from cancer patients and healthy donors was tested using a slightly modified RECAF chemiluminescence assay (the chemiluminescence format was chosen for practical reasons but in light of the results found, it is anticipated that the ELISA format will perform equally well).

A variety of malignancies were tested, including lung, breast and gastrointestinal cancers.

The results showed that the test can detect cancer with 87% sensitivity and 91% specificity (sensitivity is the percentage of cancer patients that are positive with the test and specificity is the percentage of healthy individuals that the test reports as negative).

While the number of samples is relatively small (15 cancer patients and 22 normal donors), the statistical significance is very high (p<0.00025). In medicine, the lower the value of p (probability due to chance), the more significant is the result. A p<0.05 is considered as significant and p<0.01 is considered as very significant.

Dr. Moro stated: “These results are extremely significant because it is much easier and less expensive to screen for cancer using saliva samples than serum samples. We believe we can trim the assay to work even better, but even at these levels we can lower the threshold above which we say a patient is positive for cancer, thus increasing the sensitivity to close to 100%. Then a serum test can be run on the saliva positive cases to eliminate many if not most of the potential false positives.

These results harmonize very well with the cancer screening initiatives developed by the Goshen Center for Cancer Care. Our two organizations are now coordinating future plans to extend these results in preparation to launching a pilot cancer screening program using the RECAF tests.”

Dr. Kenneth Pennington, member of the oncology team at the Goshen Center for Cancer Care stated: “The ability to detect evidence of active cancer in saliva is very exciting when considering the potential for screening for common cancers such as breast and lung cancer. The current patients tested have evidence of widespread disease. It will be important to study the saliva of patients with early stage disease to see if these findings are present in early stages as well. These studies are currently being planned and will be active in the near future. If the previous findings are confirmed in early stage disease, then a new paradigm for screening for common cancers will exist.”

Previous results obtained with serum samples have shown that the RECAF test can in fact detect early stages (Stage I and II) of prostate and breast cancer; where the curability is highest. These results have been presented at an international cancer congress (early stage detection of prostate cancers) and are the subject of two manuscripts in preparation to be submitted for publication in scientific journals.

[Press Release] NEWS - BioCurex Obtains First Patent on Therapeutic Applications for Proprietary RECAF Marker

RICHMOND, British Columbia, September 17th., 2008 -- BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB: BOCX - News) -- today announced that the Australian Patent Office has issued a notice of acceptance for a divisional application of our original patent filing.

This is the first patent awarded to BioCurex for the development of therapeutic applications of its RECAF technology. All proprietary protection had previously only covered diagnostic applications, and this approval from the Australian Patent Office is a milestone for the company in an important field of application.

The original filing contained claims related to both diagnostics and therapeutics. During the reviewing process, the mixed nature of the claims resulted in a split (technically known as a divisional application) of the claims in two separate patent files while maintaining the original date. The diagnostic patent application was granted by the Australian Patent Office before and now, the divisional containing the claims for therapeutic applications have also been approved. The process of filing a divisional is a fairly common practice. We expect similar outcomes in other territories where we have divisional pending applications.

BioCurex has proprietary technology on the uses of a molecule called RECAF that is present on the surface and inside cancer cells – though which are mostly absent from healthy cells as well as benign tumor cells. Cancer cells release some RECAF into the blood stream and this has allowed us to develop a blood test for cancer that detects approximately 90% of patients with malignancies at the standard specificity of 95% (5% false positives).

The presence of RECAF also on the surface of malignant cells allows for the specific targeting of a cancer. That is, there is no collateral damage to healthy cells known as “side effects” produced by traditional chemotherapy. Antibodies are particularly suited to target specific molecules and approximately 20 have already been approved by the FDA. Applications range from arthritis (Humira®) to cancer (Rituximab®, certain lymphomas and leukemias). Anti-cancer antibody-based therapies represent a multi-billion dollar market size.

Previous work in animals and a small number of patients have shown that malignant tumors can be imaged after injecting a radioactive tracer attached to a molecule that recognizes RECAF. Some of these results have been confirmed and published by other academic research laboratories. This suggests that cancers might be specifically irradiated after treatment with a heavily radio-labeled anti-RECAF antibody.

We have also shown at an international cancer congress that 100% of cancer cells in culture can be killed by anti-RECAF antibodies carrying killing agents, while over 80% of normal cells are unaffected. Earlier work also produced very significant results following the injection of anti-RECAF antibodies into animals with cancer.

The data are still very preliminary and therefore they require further confirmation before any firm conclusions can be drawn. However, the issuance of this first patent allowance is a significant step in moving in that direction because it facilitates approaching major pharmaceutical companies interested in licensing this type of targeted cancer therapy. BioCurex has already secured licenses for its diagnostic tests with Abbott Labs [ABT] and Inverness Medical Innovations [IMA]).

Biocurex is already working on therapeutic applications, an initiative that will be largely expanded once the diagnostic applications are marketed.

RICHMOND, British Columbia, August 14, 2008 -- BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB: BOCX ) -- today announced that the Congress Scientific Committee has accepted its presentation to the ISOBM annual meeting. BioCurex will present results obtained with its ELISA RECAF blood test for cancer at the 2008 assembly of the International Society of Oncology and Bio-Markers (ISOBM).

The conference will be held from October 5th to October 9th, in Tokyo, Japan and will bring together scientists, clinicians and companies involved in the field of cancer markers.

Dr. Moro stated: “This year’s conference is entitled, ‘Development of new molecular tumor markers for diagnosis and therapy’ . The subject is well chosen and critical for good reason: it reflects the acute need, among the scientific community as well as clinicians, for new cancer markers to be used in cancer diagnosis and therapy. This need arises from the fact that there are presently very few markers, their overall performance is not very good and they are limited to a few types of cancer. It also reflects on the fact that since AFP and CEA were first described as cancer markers in the early 60’s, not many markers have been discovered. BioCurex has a unique cancer marker in the sense that it combines excellent performance in discriminating patients with cancer from those who do not have cancer, along with the ability to detect very early stages of two of the most common cancers - breast and prostate. RECAF, our marker, also has the potential to be used on a broad spectrum of cancers, which is a tremendous advantage.

At ISOBM 2008 we’ll be showing results related to the ELISA format - a type of test that can be carried out in most research and clinical labs. We expect to elicit significant interest among scientists to carry out collaborations that will continue to validate, independently and through numerous publications, the very good performance of the RECAF tests.”

[Press Release] NEWS - BioCurex Files New RECAF Patent

RICHMOND, British Columbia, July 29th, 2008 -- BioCurex Inc. (OTCBB: BOCX - News) -- today announced that it has filed a new patent application to protect certain methods of purifying and detecting RECAF in bodily fluids. The patent application also includes what the company believes - based on available information - to be new methods for tumor imaging and therapy based on RECAF.

The patent application has been filed as a provisional patent application. This means that the patent application remains undisclosed for up to 18 months at the owner’s discretion, thus providing one more year of protection, and, assuming the patent application is granted, therefore providing further RECAF technology protection for another 21 years.

This patent application contains critical methods necessary for manufacturing RECAF tests as well as for the generation of synthetic products to be used to target RECAF in-vivo (inside the body). These products can be manufactured at low cost, in highly pure form and without the need to use biological systems; thus eliminating the possibility of carrying infectious diseases to the recipients.

As a result of the protection provided by this new patent application, the company has forfeited its former patent application in Japan, where differences in patent law as compared to the USA and the EU, have resulted in unanticipated resistance to approval. BioCurex holds granted patents in the USA, the European Union, Russia, Australia, Norway and China at this time.

The new application will soon be extended through the Patent Cooperation Treaty to the most populated and developed countries with highest market potential, as we have done previously.

Dr. Moro, BioCurex’s CEO stated: “This new patent application is the result of several years of intense work and it reflects the value added to our company resulting from that investment in time and money. We – and our licensees – have been using technology contained in our issued patents for some time now, in our daily work. There are other improvements that will be the subject of new patent applications to be filed in the near future. This strategy is intended to stake the RECAF technology with a number of patent claims in a way that will prevent others from circumventing our patents as well as extending the protection period of our technology. “

The additional protection, offered by the claims related to blood tests in this new patent application, is extended to our current licensees. This will extend the term of our licensing agreements and therefore enhance our royalties. However, there are also other claims related to different fields and applications not encompassed in our current agreements and they can be freely licensed to new recognized licensees.
