Fabian joins from CIT Aerospace where he was senior vice president and replaces Olaf Sachau, who has been named as head of global commodity finance for HSH Nordbank. Based in London, Fabian will report to Angela Behrend-Goernemann, head of global aviation. He joined CIT in 2001 and held positions in New York, Dublin and Singapore, most recently as senior regional director Asia Pacific for aircraft leasing. Commenting on his appointment, Behrend-Goernemann said: "He has an asset background which is important for us, considering the emphasis we have on asset risk." The commodity finance team was integrated into the transportation unit at the beginning of this year to explore cross-selling opportunities with aviation, shipping, rail and infrastructure.
