I have been thinking about what kind of content to post here at a drug rehab. Honestly I can tell you that it has been difficult trying to think of what kind of content needs to be here at A Drug Rehab.

But after some consideration I have decided that the most beneficial type of content I can put on here are ‘interviews’ of sorts of drug rehab centers across the country. I have been thinking that the best way to do this is to post brief audio and text interviews with representatives of various drug rehab centers.

Why interviews of drug rehab centers?

Well it just seems like the best kind of information I can put on a site such as this. I suspect that most people who are looking for information on drug rehab want to know where to start and what to expect from a drug rehab center.

I cannot think of a better way to do that than to put up interviews with the actual drug rehab center representatives themselves. They are the ones that have the body of knowledge you need before deciding whether or not to go to to a drug rehab center. In addition I am hoping the brief interviews will help illuminate the great work that these people are actually doing.

You can call it an experiment of sorts, but I think it has a good shot at succeeding. The primary definite chief aim I have here is to provide useful information to those seeking or just thinking about attending a drug rehab center.

I can’t guarantee that this will work just yet. I have to work out some technical glitches to see if it is even possible for me to do this. I may just have to post textual type interviews instead of audio interviews. But I would like to include both (And audio interview combined with the text transcript).

By the way, as part of this process, you questions are very helpful. So please don’t hesitate to submit some questions using the form at the very top of this site. Then I may be able to include some of your questions in future interviews that I do.

God Speed to you and stay tuned for more on this soon…

The recent death of super star Michael Jackson brings up the question once again whether we as a society have become so obsessed with prescription drugs that we are beyond repairing the problem?

I hate to be negative, but we are now heavily a media driven culture. We still watch a lot of TV, get our daily news fix, and then get our daily fix of prescription drug commercials. Pop this pill and your pain will go away. Pop that pill and you will start feeling happy again.

The reality as I see it is that prescription drugs are still drugs and they have plenty of addictive qualities. Taken too often, or combined with too many other prescription drugs can lead to bad results or even death.

It seems obvious to me, or do I have it wrong?

Anna Nicole Smith, Elvis, and Michael Jackson all died from causes related to misuse or abuse of prescriptions drugs? Or do I have that wrong? Maybe it is just my own theory, but I think there is something to it. Maybe these individuals used too many of these at once, only to have disastrous consequences.

Maybe I am too old fashioned or just plain stubborn, but if I have back pain or severe back pain I am probably going to take some prescription drug pain medicine for at least a while and see how I fare alone. But certainly I am going to try to limit how many other RX drugs I am taking at the same time if I can help it. And if I must take more than a handful of them at once I would have to verify with several doctors that the combination I am taking is not putting my health at risk or putting too much strain on my heart.

So I say, when in doubt, leave the prescription drugs out. Cos you just don’t need that many of them. Period.
