			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>La post-produzione degli scatti realizzati nelle due performance al DEJ 2009 continua a pieno ritmo. Il numero di file RAW prodotti è stato considerevole: un migliaio per l&#8217;animazione e 5000 per i time-lapse (serviranno come contributo aggiuntivo per raccontare lo svolgimento dell&#8217;evento, insieme ad un video documentario di backstage).<br />
Per assicurare  a tutti i partecipanti di rivedersi in uno dei video e foto finali, nessuna scena o serie di scatti è stata o sarà scartata. La scelta di postprodurre tutto il materiale prodotto (e non solo le scene migliori) ha allungato i tempi di lavorazione, ma dovrebbe aumentare la gratificazione di chi avrebbe altrimenti rischiato di finire tagliato in montaggio.<br />
Per darvi un&#8217;anteprima del work in progress, eccovi uno scatto della prima performance con un paio di passaggi di lavorazione in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 e After Effects CS4.</p>
<p><em>The postproduction for the pictures taken during the performances at DEJ 2009 is still going on. The number of RAW files produced was quite high: around 1 thousand for the animation and 5 </em><em>thousands</em><em> for the timelapses (they will be used as an extra content for reporting how the event was, combined with a backstage video).<br />
No scene or serie of shooting was or will be unselected, so that every attendee will be able to see himself somewhere. Having chosen to postproduce all the shots instead of just the best ones is requiring more time then what was originally planned, but it should make more people happy at the end.<br />
In order to give you a preview of the work in progress, here you are a sample frame from the first day performance with some postproduction in Photoshop Lightroom 2 e After Effects CS4.</em></p>
<h4>1) Original RAW Picture, from Canon EOS 5D</h4>

<h4>2) RAW Development in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2</h4>

<p>Lo sviluppo in Lightroom ha permesso controllare il bilanciamento del bianco, l&#8217;esposizione, il rumore e il contrasto. La curva tonale è stata impostata per dare risalto alle magliette, mentre la saturazione è stata attenuata selettivamente (soprattutto nei rossi e magenta). Ogni file Raw è stato esportato sia in alta risoluzione (TIFF a 16 bit) sia in bassa (JPG a 8bit e dimensioni ridotte).</p>
<p><em>The development in Lightroom allowed a control of white balance, exposition, noise and contrast. The tonal curve was set for giving more relevance to the t-shirts, while the saturation was selectively reduced (particularly for magenta and red). Each file raw has been exported both in high resolution (TIFF at 16 bit) both in low resolution (JPG at 8 bit and lower size).</em></p>
<h4>3) Post-production in Adobe After Effects CS4</h4>

<p>Le sezuenze di TIFF sono state poi importate in After Effects ed abbinate come &#8220;proxy&#8221; alle corrispettive sequenza in JPG. (I proxy di After Effects permettono di lavorare sui file più leggeri, ma di sfruttare quelli con maggiore profondità colore e risoluzione nel rendering finale). Nella postproduzione in After Effects sono stati rimossi alcuni degli oggetti e dei dettagli che potevano distrarre di più (come gli estintori e alcuni cavi). E&#8217; stata inoltre simulata una profondità di campo ridotta, sfuocando e riducendo in particolare la luminosità nello sfondo. In caso qualcuno se lo stesse chiedendo, sì in questa serie è stato necessario scontornare tutti i pixel nella fila in alto, fotogramma per fotogramma. Ora sapete perchè la postproduzione sta richiedendo un po&#8217; di tempo!</p>
<p><em>The tiff sequences have been imported in After Effects and linked as &#8220;proxy&#8221; to the corresponding JPG sequences. (A proxy in After Effects is a cool way to work with low res footage and have high res files used only for final renders). In the postproduction with After Effects some distracting details were removed. It has been also simulated a tilt-shift effect, reducing the depth of field and the luminosity, particularly in the background. In case you were wondering, yes in this sequence it was necessary to mask each human pixel in the upper line, frame by frame. Now you know why is taking time!</em></p>

<p>Il modo più facile per creare pixel art in Photoshop è aprire più finestre dello stesso documento e zoomare fino al 3200% in quella dove si sta disegnando. Per aprire altre finestre dal menu Window &gt; Arrange &gt; New Window.<br />

White in the front side in order to help the visibility during the shooting. In the other side the message: &#8220;I&#8217;m a human pixel&#8221;. It reverts somehow the theme of DEJ: digital is human. In our case, &#8220;human is digital&#8221;.<br />
