Panic! at the Disco

If you havnt heard of Panic! at the Disco yet then you, my friend, are missing out. I stumbled upon this mixture of rock and techno on purevolume quite some time back and was an instant fan. The incorporation of classical piano and techno really set them apart from every cookie cutter band on the market these days plus they were picked up by fueledbyramen which is the same indie record label that is home to such names as "the aka's", "the academy is...", and "fall out boy". "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" (panic!'s debut album) is one of the few albums in my collection that I don't skip any tracks on. Each song brings something different and interesting to your ears. Honestly, if you havnt heard their sound yet, try it.

AllPeers is just about the biggest thing happening to firefox to date. It's esentially a bittorent client within the mozilla firefox browser. This firefox extension also boasts a live buddy list so you can choose who you want to share your files with and can see what your friends have available as well AND since it's a bittorent client a user doesnt have to be online for you to download their available files. If you go to their site you can enter your email to be alerted to when you can get in beta. I entered my email, who's with me? HERE is their blog and click their logo to get to the official site.

I got my 360 because my step-dad has hook-ups at best buy. I've been playing Call of Duty 2 and it's awesome. Maybe I'll post some form of a review on it but right now I just want to get back to playing it. Later.

Dreamcast back from the dead?

Sega’s not flapping their yapper so far as we can tell, but German gaming site Gamefront.de is claiming they’re going to be re-releasing the frickin’ Dreamcast bundled with Radilgy and some limited edition telephone card or something. But our wish come true from the Ghost of Hackable Consoles Past will probably be Japan-only though, distributed through Sega Direct for ¥10,000 (about $83 US) — still, could this be the triumphant return of Sega hardware, even if only just nostalgia-gear? Apparently we’ll find out February 16th (or sooner).

Holiday Layout and War Rock

You can always tell it's the holidays when it takes you an hour to get a parking spot at the mall. Oh well, I had a little time on my hands and decided to make the place a little more Christmas-ish. It may look cheesy but who cares? I like it.

Also, the free, downloadable BF2 clone I mentioned in an earlier post (titled "War Rock")is alot of fun. I know my online friends have been complaining that their pc's cant handle the game so I dont know what to tell you. I'm running on 512 of ram and havnt had the first hint of lag. Oh well, if you guys try it out let me know what you think of it.

Message to PETA: GET A LIFE

A good advertisement is designed to grab people's attention, but PETA's recent campaign to stop fishing has some fishermen, very much including MSNBC's Tucker Carlson, pretty annoyed.

I has me annoyed as well. The article attacks fisherman but by means of their kids. See they distribute these leaflets in order to convince kids of fisherman that their daddies are killers for fishing and that if they can kill a fish, they'll kill other animals as well, including your pet dog.

"Since your daddy is teaching you the wrong lessons about right and wrong, you should teach him fishing is killing. Until your daddy learns it's not fun to kill, keep your doggies and kitties away from him. He's so hooked on killing defenseless animals, they could be next."

Seriously, this is out of control. Just like Tucker Carlson said: just because a focus group in Washington says it'll work, that doesnt make it morally right. Telling these kids that their fathers are going to kill (insert favorite family pet name here) is low. Then this guy goes off the deep end, read this:

...Additionally, eating fish rots your brain. The Environmental Protection Agency says that if you eat fish as few as two times...If you're feeding your kid tuna or salmon or fish sticks, you're feeding your kid poison.

Major WTF here. Is this guy serious? Well I'm afraid so folks. But before it's over, the guy gets a nice pwning from the interviewer:

CARLSON: I guess I'm just amazed, as I have been before. I've interviewed Ingrid Newkirk, the head of your organization (peta). And I'm sympathetic. I love animals. I have a lot of animals.

FRIEDRICH: Thank you.

CARLSON: Unlike Ingrid Newkirk, who has no animals, incidentally.

It's sunday. I'm downloading the latest diggnation vid on bittorent and am watching the TWIT 0021 vid from the Apple store. I havnt really been up to anything interesting lately. I made an unofficial retirement from Star Wars Galaxies but am back in it now that SOE has realised that they screwed up group xp and fixedd it. I've realised that one of my neighbors must have a wireless connection cuz my psp detects two wireless access points from my bedroom which is weird considering the house on my right is still being built and there is no house on my left. Most of the wireless access points I pick up with my psp though are wep encrypted so I'm waiting for the day someone releases some kind of wep cracking software for the psp. I was sitting in front of marble slab the other day and wanted to check something on the net and their connection was encrypted and I have no way of breaking it with a psp.....I need a laptop but i dont know what the actual realistic chance of me getting one is though. Oh well I'm off to eat some cold pizza. Later.

If you've been following Kevin Rose through his most recent endeavours then you'll have noticed how quickly everything has grown. He went from doing thebroken to having thebroken, systm, and diggnation. The organization, revision3, has quickly established itself as being an organization that can churn out quality content with what they have to work with. Their team consists of Jay Adelson (CEO, Chairman), Kevin Rose (Exec. Producer, Host), Dan huard, (Producer, Host), Keith Harrison (Director, Cameraman, Editor), Roy Gorodetzky (Director of Technology) as well as the recently aquired David Prager (Production and Business Development) and Alex Albrecht (Host). Looks like they have an all-star team and being as Kevin Rose left G4 and is doing thsi full time, he'll be able to divert all his attention to the project. I see great things coming from Revision3 in the future and I look forward to it.

Okay the layout on the last one was a good idea but it just didn't seem right so I scrapped that big old banner and got a newer one. Still simple, but not as plain. I also tweaked the sidebar a bit more but I think I've got the desired effect now. What do you think?

It's been a couple months since I've blogged anything. Not much is going on in my life right now. School startts soon which I'm somewhat excited for so I can go ahead and get my AC/DC Fundamentals class behind me so I can move on to Computer Maintanence. I've also been playing the battlefield 2 demo from OXM and I'm seriously getting this game. Oh well I'm off to watch the new diggnation vid...later.

Well ,tommorow night I'm going to a concert at a place called The Ugly Mug Cafe (really cool place. they have about ten computers all hooked up with free DSL for you to use) that will be featuring some local bands. While there, I'll be purchasing tickets for the upcoming heartofEsther concert feat. Goodnight Julia (good), AcrossFiveAprils (awesome), and Caldwell (never heard of'em). This is going to be awesome.
