Actors from around the world flood Los Angeles for each years “pilot season” not realizing the January to May casting influx is dependent on an actors resume and agent.

Coming in January without recognized TV and Film principle roles will not get you an agent, but also not get you in the doors of casting directors.

On 19th, November, in Amsterdam, the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam will screen 13 Australian documentaries.

In the Competition section of the festival, a record of seven Australian films have been to selected to compete;

“Contact”
“The Miscreants of Taliwood”
“The Snowman”
“The Matilda Candidate”

Screening in the Short Documentary Competition section are:
“My Uncle Bluey”
“Salt”

This is the first time that seven Australian films have been selected to screen in Competition since IDFA began in 1988.

After 10 days of TVI Actors Studio in Australia, 2 time “Emmy” award winner, Los Angeles Casting Director of “24″, Debi Manwiller and I are heading back to Los Angeles. Debi is in the midst of casting the 8th season of “24″. Special guests that showed up included Lee Donehue from the popular industry newsletter “Quiet on Set“, former American Casting director Tom McSweeney who has been casting the past 12 years in Australia and John Stewart from TAFTA in the Gold Coast,TVI’s Alan S Nusbaum moderated the event this evening.
