Manitoba Theatre Centre presents It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play at The John Hirsch Theatre Mainstage from November 26th through December 19th. Tickets range from $15 to $85 depending on age, date and seat section.

Turn back the clock and set the dial for a dose of holiday nostalgia. An inventive re-imagining of a traditional favourite, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play is cleverly re-created as a 1940s live radio broadcast, in which a cast of talented actors brings the classic tale of George Bailey’s journey of self-worth to captivating life, complete with sound effects, music and commercials.

The whole family will want to revisit this vibrant celebration of simple goodwill and community cheer.

The most anticipated game of the year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, will be having a midnight release tonight. All Futureshops in the city will be open at Midnight so you can be the first to own this epic game.

I pre-ordered mine online so I’ll have to wait a few days to get it. But one of our editors, Mark D., will be at one of the Futureshop midnight releases tonight (we’ll post which one later today). Mark will be giving a few AccessWinnipeg shirts to the MW2 fans in line.

How can you find Mark? We’ll post more information on how you can find Mark on twitter and facebook as the midnight release gets closer.

As far as I know, Futureshop, EB Games, and Wal-mart are all doing midnight releases… if you know of other stores, please post them in the comments.

A reminder that Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer of KISS will be in Winnipeg tonight as part of the KISS Alive 35 tour.

I’m almost certain this won’t be as good of a concert as AC/DC was but it should definitely be one of the top concerts of 2009.

Chantal Kreviazuk will be live on the 102.3 Clear FM morning show on Tuesday, November 10 just after 7:30am.

They’ve got the keyboard set up and ready to go! Winnipeg-born Chantal Kreviazuk performs at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre Wednesday night.

Watch out motorists, the city has opened a few more Diamond lanes for Buses and Cyclists. The minimum fine for driving in a Diamond Lane during restricted hours is $190.80 and two demerit points.

The lanes are located at:

Portage Avenue:
* Westbound from Colony to Strathcona (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
* Eastbound from Raglan to St. Mary (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)

Main Street:
* Southbound from Smithfield to Jarvis (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. only)
* Northbound from Jarvis to Inkster (3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m only)

Goulet Street:
* Westbound from Youville to Tache (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. only)

The Bombers were in a must-win situation tonight in their final game of the 2009 season. Unfortunately the could not get passed the Hamilton Tiger-cats and are eliminated from a Playoff seed. The Bombers lose 39-17, falling apart in the second half.
