Maharashtra will be ruled once again by the Central Government Ruling Party i.e. Congress. Earlier today afternoon all the results for 288 seats have been declared in which Congress got about half the total no. of seats i.e. 144 out of 288 total seats. BJP got 91 with increase on 1 seat and MNS got 13 of them.
With this win Congress will surely outplayed BJP in all aspects.

Nilu Phule passes away

Nilu Phule, marathi film and stage actor died at a hospital in pune on Monday. He was 80.

Nilu Phule was suffering from cancer of the oesophagus and was admitted to the hospital on July 5.

Nilu Phule is survived by his wife and a daughter.

A versatile artiste, Nilu Phule had acted in around 130 films, including some Hindi movies, and a number of Marathi plays.

First cut off list has 74 thousand 260 candidates. The Passed candidates can deposit the Rs 2000 from prescribed fees in any Bank of Baroda Branch from 9 July 2009 to 15 July 2009. The remaining fees will be deposited after allotment of the college. For registartion and online counselling the option can be filled between 17 July 2009 to 24 July 2009 at www.ptetjnvu.org. After filling option form the allotment of college will be done on 27 July 2009 at 9.00 pm on same website.

The state government has issued NOC for PTET to 782 colleges for 89 thousand 950 seats.

License Agreement for Advanced Pulverized-Coal Technology in India signed by Foster Wheeler

Foster Wheeler AG announces that a subsidiary of its Global Power Group has entered into a 20-year agreement with BGR Boilers Private Limited, an affiliate of BGR Energy Systems Limited, to provide an advanced technology license for wall-fired subcritical and supercritical pulverized-coal (PC) steam generators to be sold in India.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The contract value will be booked immediately upon the approval of the Indian Government, whose approval is necessary for BGR to enter in such a contract. Future royalty payments will be booked over the life of the agreement.

In addition, the two companies have agreed to cooperate on multiple prospective projects under separate contracts within the next five years, with Foster Wheeler providing the engineering and design along with selected major components.

"This agreement with BGR to jointly serve the domestic power market in India, represents a major step forward in our strategy to steadily expand our global presence," said David J. Parham, executive vice president of Global Sales and Marketing, Foster Wheeler Global Power Group. "As India's need for electric power continues to increase, the Foster Wheeler-BGR team will be positioned to add value by providing the Indian power generators with high-quality advanced technology to meet their growing power production needs."

United Bank of India

Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said on Monday-"The government will invest a total 8 billion rupees in shares of unlisted United Bank of India in two trances until March 2010, as part of a capital restructuring plan of banks"

He said that the cabinet has approved government's proposal of investing 2.50 billion rupees by March 31.

Indian banks have been unable to raise fresh equity after the global financial crisis roiled Indian markets, but they have to adhere to the central bank's capital adequacy rules and meet rising demand for loans.

In February, the cabinet approved 38 billion rupees investment in the shares of three state-run banks -- UCO Bank, Central Bank of India and Vijaya Bank.

Earlier, India had sought World Bank help to recapitalise 17-18 state-run banks by end March 2010, and help them increase capital adequacy ratio to at least 12 percent.

Accordingly, the World Bank has promised $3 billion for Indian banks and infrastructure firms, who are unable to raise funds from the market after the global financial crisis.
