Zee goggles, zey do something; hopefully, help fly the spaceship!

How lucky am I to have woken up to a guest comic in my inbox!? My friend, Cal (of Ted Dead) did an awesome job merging our comics. And, the .. the .. the alien TALKS! I’m pretty sure he’s got better taste in beer though .. probably a nice Lambic. But, aliens without kitchens can’t always be choosers.

I’m also guessing he’s going to be asking me to install one of those “Earl Grey, hot.” machines now. Thanks a lot Cal!! ;)

I’m a huge fan of RSS feeds. Without them, there is no way I could remember to check on all the amazing sites I’ve found. So, I was thrilled that I managed not to miss Kevin Cornell’s article, Draw Your Own Thrilling Space Adventure.

I love his site for the monkeys; yes, there are a few monkeys I don’t completely loathe. But, as a space fan, I was super excited to see the Space Adventure challenge. Perhaps I should have titled my submission, “Draw Your Own Mundane Space Adventure” but that would mean thwarting the marketing weasels. Never thwart the marketing weasels!

I’m super excited with the way this one turned out. This is the second time I’ve tried (publicly) to depict someone else’s character and I was pretty happy with the results. Let’s just say there is a reason these normally don’t make it to the public eye. ;)

In addition, it was really nice to write a little bit of descriptive dialogue. I always envision dialogue for the a2alien, but it is usually more emotive than eloquent. Working on this guest comic really inspired me; the alien may decide to say a few things here or there.
