Being a student is something that most of us would identify with. Each one of us is a student in our own way. At every step in our life we learn something, and get to know some of the best ways we can make our life better. Yet there are cases where the students get overly stressed and make things difficult not only for themselves but also for others. This happens due to various factors and particularly affects the psyche of the students who are so focused on trying to achieve perfection in everything thus leading to a great pressure and inevitably stress.

Stress affects every student whether it is a toddler or a college going teen. Stress is the response that we adopt in facing the circumstances that make us act, adjust or change in a particular way such that everything is balanced against our own will. This is the way the body reacts or adjusts to keep things under control. This is the body’s way of responding to any demand that is made and stress is a way of manifesting the inability to solve any problem while meeting the demand. Stress could be healthy at times for adults who try to learn a lot from the stress they are going through. On the other hand, stress is very damaging to most students and this happens when stress gets out of control. Students’ health is affected so is their performance and their interpersonal relations.

Let us understand how best we could deal with stress and how we could make the world stress free. Children in school get stressed over small things like getting bullied. Then sometimes the children get stressed over a miscommunication with the teacher. Family time is crucial to the child. A child who doesn’t get much time to spend with family is wrapped in insecurity and gets stressed. Sometimes there are too many activities that the child is subjected to. This causes stress. If the student doesn’t get proper sleep then he gets very irritable and gets stressed out. Then there is the stress of lack of preparation that bogs the mind of the students. This too creates a lot of mental tension to the students and the child invariably becomes a stressed individual. Noise pollution and other such factors also affect the child and the student generally unknowingly brings about his own downfall if he subjects himself to loud noise.

Students undergo stress at every level. So whether it is the student going to college or whether it is the student who has to decide which university he has to be in, the crux remains that the student has to understand that he has to learn to adjust to new surroundings. So the main cause of stress during a shift is the lack of time management, the pressure of exams and the fear of being in a competitive world. This is a great cause for stress invariably.

There are various ways students could manage stress. For example if they learn to understand that time is a great factor to reduce stress and if they have a particular study schedule then it is a good way to avoid stress. Break up the time into smaller portions and formulate a pattern of study then it is a good way of breaking up the stress of preparing.

Then the second thing is to have an organized attitude. Note making, keeping memos and following up assignments and other papers also gives the student a chance to understand the importance of work efficiency and thus reduces stress.

Stress can also be reduced by having the right study environment. Either a quite room or a room free of interruptions, or music playing in the background are all ways you can avoid stress.

Stress Management in students is very situational and is a way of enhancing one’s own strengths.

This type of risks generally occurs in newborns, elderly people and people having severely compromised immune system. Antibiotics may be needed in order to treat this type of infection. Thus proper care should be observed while taking large doses of probiotics.

One of the most common probiotic side effects is the gastrointestinal distress. In cases when large doses of probiotics are taken they do adjust the floral balance but there is a possibility that they might also result in abdominal discomfort and gas. Along with the large doses of probiotic, biological adjustment is also the reason for these problems. These digestive problems occur temporarily only for a short period of time and then ultimately subside.

There is a possibility that the use of probiotics may lead to unusual shifts in metabolism as these friendly bacteria slightly alters the functioning of colon. At times some might experience problems like slowing down of the bowel habits while other may suffer from frequent bowel movements with the use of probiotics. Metabolic changes in the body due to probiotic can also lead to weight gain, malabsorption of nutrients and weight loss. Though majority of people using probiotics experience positive metabolism but few of them may also suffer from probiotic side effects related to metabolic changes.

Other side effects are the overstimulation of immune system. In cases where the body mistakenly recognizes the probiotics as infectious or foreign invaders, it might react to it in the same way as it reacts to infections. This situation may cause problems like fever, fatigue and increased count of white blood cells. Thorough studies have also not been done in probiotics with the people having autoimmune diseases. Though probiotics may be beneficial in treating these disorders but chances of rare or unknown complications are also there.

Slippery elm: Hiatal hernia treatment is done using the inner barks of the slippery elm plants. This herb is also a rich source of mucilage with therapeutic properties. Use slippery elm to reduce the irritation and inflammation of the stomach and esophagus in hiatal hernia patients. Slippery elm augments mucus production, which forms a protective coat for our digestive tract saving it from the damages caused by stomach acids.

Goldenseal: This flowering plant has been known for its ability of treating conditions like heartburn, which is a common sign of hiatal hernia. The herb can soothe irritation of digestive tract effectively when taken orally in form of a tea.

According to medical experts turmeric supplements in powder form are more effective that capsules prepared from the extracts of the herb. This is because there are many turmeric capsules that contain other ingredients than inhibit the actual healing effect of turmeric. If available, opt for consuming turmeric in organic form.

People living in the South Asian countries and the Middle East use turmeric as a cooking spice. Adding turmeric to food items regularly will help you in preventing joint pains successfully. Our body can absorb turmeric more easily when the herb is combined with other culinary ingredients like pineapple, ginger and black pepper.

Topical application of turmeric is also practiced in the Indian subcontinent for getting rid of joint aches. A person experiencing severe arthritis pain can prepare a paste of turmeric by blending turmeric and coconut oil together and applying it on the ailing joints. The herb should not be mixed with water while preparing the paste as it is not soluble in water. Once the skin soaks up the paste, it can be removed easily using a mild soap and water.

The only chemical that is approved by the FDA for being used for skin bleaching is hydroquinone. The skin bleaching solutions and creams available in the market can contain hydroquinone in different percentages; however the ones that contain over 2% of the chemical can result in harmful side effects. The most frequently occurring side effect of the skin bleaching procedure is burning sensations and irritation of the skin. One might also experience severe itchiness and a stinging sensation after undergoing skin bleaching. Another possible adverse effect of skin bleaching is temporary reddening of the skin.

There are several instances when skin bleaching has resulted in allergic reactions. The signs of allergic reactions are more severe than the mild side effects caused by the chemicals present in the skin bleaching creams. Allergic reactions from skin bleaching products can cause severe, intolerable pain, crusting of skin, swelling of the treated skin etc. if you experience allergic reactions after using a skin bleaching skin, you should never opt for skin bleaching again. It is also advisable to perform a patch test for knowing whether you are allergic to the product.

Many of the skin bleaching creams available in the market contain mercury. These creams should not be used for prolonged period of time. Too much application of mercury based products might cause poisoning. The mercury can get accumulated within the cells of our body, which eventually damages our kidney.

These digested foods offer us the required nutrients, which gets absorbed by our intestines and dispensed to different parts of our body. Pancreatic ducts of cystic fibrosis patients get clogged due to presence of tenacious mucus, which stops pancreatic enzyme secretion. Shortage of the digestive enzymes can lead to cause poor weight gain or growth in children, foul smelling, bulky and greasy stools, presence of protein in stools etc.

Infertility is one of the most frequently seen signs of cystic fibrosis. Both men and women are victims of this sign of this chronic genetic disorder. Women with cystic fibrosis can have clogged reproductive organs due to presence of mucus. This makes them infertile i.e. stops them from becoming pregnant. Men with this genetic disorder also cannot have children as they are born without the vas deferens. The vas deferens is responsible for transportation of sperms from testicles to ejaculatory ducts.

Getting glycolic peels done by a professional will require you to pay a hefty price. If you are not ready to spend so much money for skin treatment but require one badly for removing the ugly pimple scars from your face, you can try out the homemade glycolic acid peels. You can prepare the homemade version spending only a fraction of the amount you would have needed to spend in case of a professional treatment.

For homemade preparation of a glycolic acid peel, you can use fruits like papaya and pineapple. These fruits can be beneficial due to presence of sugar and natural enzymes in them. Lemon and strawberry are known for their natural acidic properties and thus can be used as ingredients of home peels. However, as mentioned above the ingredient that can make your homemade peel extremely effective is sugarcane. Using caster sugar for the treatment will offer you results closest to what you can expect when treated by a dermatologist. Due to its superfine texture, your skin will absorb caster sugar more easily than regular cane sugars.

These strips are treated with chemicals and change in color when dipped in urine.

There’s no need of using sterile techniques while testing your urine for ketones; however, you must try keeping the sample as hygienic as possible. Make sure that the urine does not get contaminated by stool, menstrual blood or pubic hair.

Take a test strip from the pack and immerse it in the sample; remove the strip immediately and tap off the entire excess urine. Now, wait keeping the strip horizontal. After 15 seconds, you will get the results.

The strip will change in color once it reacts with your urine. Every pack of ketone testing strips comes with a color chart. Check the chart to find out what the changed color of the strip means. This testing procedure is particularly beneficial for pregnant women suffering from gestational diabetes; these women must check their ketone levels every week.
