FIRST-EVER DIGITAL VERSION OF 60th PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS PROGRAM ANNOUNCED BY ZINIO AND THE ACADEMY OF TELEVISION, ARTS, AND SCIENCES

First-of-Its-Kind Partnership Brings Exclusive Awards Content to Emmy® Fans

Los Angeles, CA— September 11, 2008 —The Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences (ATAS) announced today that it has partnered with (we need another word – there was no selection process, we approached them – ATAS is sensitive to these things)Zinio, the global leader in digital and interactive publishing, to create a first-of-its-kind commemorative digital version of the event program for the 60th Primetime Emmy® Awards. This unprecedented move will make the program—which has historically been accessible only to Emmy® attendees—available for public sale via download for a limited time, allowing fans both in the U.S. and internationally the opportunity to instantly take home a piece of television history. The collector’s edition program will feature a visually rich design and fully searchable content, so readers can search by favorite actor, by show title, or by award.

In addition, as reducing the carbon footprint of the entertainment industry has long been a hot topic in Hollywood, the environmentally-friendly digital format of the Emmy® program is of particular importance. In continuation of the ATAS’ “Green with Emmy®” campaign, launched last year and designed to limit the environmental impact of the awards, Zinio’s paper-and-ink-free digital model allows for the creation of a keepsake for Emmy® fans without the expense of natural resources. The announcement of Zinio and ATAS’ partnership to create a digital program also dovetails with a project spearheaded by Zinio called The Read Green Initiative™, an urgent call-to-action to inspire consumers to embrace an environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional print reading, which launches on September 22nd, 2008.

Copies of the program will also be available for sale on The Read Green Initiative™’s consumer website, www.GoReadGreen.com (site live on September 17, 2008) www.Zinio.com, www.Emmys.tv, and www.VIVmag.com.

“This marks an important moment in Emmy history. Television is transitioning into the digital age—all TVs are required to be digital by next year—and the ATAS is moving at the speed of technology. Digital reading is the next logical step in the future of its industry, and we are excited to partner with Zinio to move this technology forwards,” said an executive from the ATAS. “In addition, we are always looking for ways to let Emmy® fans and TV watchers become more engaged with what goes on behind the scenes, and now we have a cost-effective and environmentally responsible way to make that engagement possible.”

“For Zinio, making previously hard-to-find content accessible to a wide audience has always been a top priority,” added Rich Maggiotto, President and CEO of Zinio.com. “Whether it’s allowing international readers to download their favorite American magazine or providing readers access to archived magazine content dating back several years, Zinio is committed to opening doors. Naturally, we were excited to be a part of ATAS’ historical commitment to making exclusive Emmy® program content available to the world. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the ATAS to make these digital programs a part of Emmy® telecasts for ages to come.”

The digital extension of the Primetime Emmy® Awards program marks the first in a series of innovations and sustainable business practices spearheaded by ATAS and powered by Zinio. The digital version of the program will be sold on www.Emmys.tv, www.Zinio.com, and www.GoReadGreen.com for 30 days only, beginning September 15, 2008.
