Have you heard about the Alt Channel? Each week you can take online classes taught by some of the coolest cats in the social media world and the line-up of topics is pretty stellar (like DSLR tips from Justin Hackworth!).

I’m honored and just a tad nervous to be one of the teachers. I’ll be covering two different topics:
Bringing Home the Bacon When Your Blog Isn’t Huge – finding paid opportunities outside of sidebar ads.
Content is King – developing content that will take your blog from good to great.

A sweet custom portrait would be a perfect gift for a valentine. Especially if that valentine is me and has a chronic case of closing her eyes in every single photo and/or doing a weird head tilt.

There are a few rooms in Darcy Miller’s home that make me question her sanity (there is no way anyone besides the Pope is allowed in the pristine white living room) but her decorator sure nailed these rooms. For kicks I’m going to pretend I’m eating my bowl of Multi Grain Cheerios in that breakfast nook right now.

thoughtful friends are my fave

If anybody ever asks me what my favorite part of blogging is I always respond, “The friends I’ve made.” I met both Danni and Karen through blogging and last week during Alt they somehow managed to squeeze in an adorable baby shower, in our hotel room no less! It’s still hard for me to believe how thoughtful those two (and actually the entire guest list) are. Both baby and I are incredibly blessed.

Exchanging business cards at Alt is serious business. I wouldn’t have been surprised if somebody would have passed me their first born child along with their die cut, three color, letter press card to make things memorable. This was my attempt at trying not to look too pathetic – hand stamped glassine envelopes filled with confetti. I just now realized they might have been more successful if they had been filled with Swedish fish. Or bars of gold. Blast.

Oh hello. Wondering where I’ve been? Just moving, planning Alt Summit and throwing a party all at 6+ months pregnant because that’s how I roll.

For the last month Susan, Danyelle and I (all our hotness apparent in the first pic) have been scheming with Method (yes, the stellar cleaning product line) to throw a mini party at Alt. I’m not going to lie, we ran into a few restrictions that made me not my best self but when it came down to it this is what I learned the key to a successful party is: Smilebooth and sparkle. The end. Also, inviting Alison and Rebecca doesn’t hurt. Those girls know how to light up a photo booth. Thank you all who attended and made us feel like champs. And thanks for not telling me to put the Kanye glasses down. They clearly look awesome on me.
