He made couple of changes in team for bringing in likes of Jadeja, Ojha. Sehwag and Yuvraj is dropped out because of injury. You can play with 13 members in warm up matches but it seems that India don’t have 13 members available for selection. On other hand Kiwis also made couple of changes but more or less kept unchanged unit.

India has to get 171 runs target with 8.55 RPO, and, their new opening pair Gambhir and Rohit Sharma has a responsibility of giving flying start. Sharma stood up occasion and continue his tremendous IPL2 batting form, scoring 36 runs with just 20 balls which include 3x4, 3x6, played some amazing cricketing shots to give India much needed momentum. Gambhir on other hand continued his lack luster form.

Raina used his opportunity very well and scored 45 runs in 24 balls with 3x4, 3x6. He is equally supported by Ravindra Jadeja, with his nearly equal to ball 41 runs from 40 balls. In the end India could not able to finish chase and lost by 9 runs. Vettori proved best blower from kiwis with excellent figures of 3-0-24-3.

Before that, when Kiwis started inning with their successful opening pair Ryder and McCullum. Ishant Sharma bowled Ryder out in early spell to provide break through. McCullum continued his attack on other side with scoring 31 runs in 19 balls with 4x4. In middle over Ojha and Harbhajan bowled exceptionally well to restrict Kiwis 150 runs till 19th over. But in last over PR conceded 20 runs to help reach opposition 170 runs target.

From India’s point of view blowing form of Ishant Sharma, Ojha is good news. Ojha bowled really well and did not afraid to spin and toss the ball while kiwis are going after him. From batting point of view, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina’s form is good news. But they should be more worried about their last year’s top scoring batsman Gautam Gambier’s form and Injuries of Zaheer, Sehwag and Yuvraj, as their performance will decide India’s chances, creating history once again.

Flashback WT20 2007

Year 2007 had been unforgettable not only for Team India but also for rest of world, as they became First World Twenty20 champions which hosted in rainbow country South Africa. After 1983, first time India had won World Cup in T20 format. Whole cricketing world is fascinated by this kind of T20 format. This format has everything in it, the speed, enthusiasm, drama, advertising, cheerleaders off course the money. A perfect recipe for cricket lovers.
When ICC first decided to conduct such kind of tournament, everybody had finger crossed. Even some countries decided to send their second best team for this tournament. But T20 had done wonders.
India First T20 world cup champions had more memories to remember. They have got new Captain M.S.Dhoni, who is well known for his fearless batting until tournament. Under his captaincy Team India came out with trump. Under his Wily, aggressive and claim personality team climbing one after another victory. I will try summaries some of key moments of Team India’s road to T20.

Bowl Out The first one comes is bowel out situation against Pakistan. India has defeated their arch rivals Pakistan in Group match in first ever bowl out situation. Where Sehwag, Robin and Harbhajan hit the stump back to back to won this utterly closed encounter. India had announced their presence.

6 Sixes Next one is also created history, was, Yuvraj 6 sixes. In a match against England India in good situation after nice and solid start from their opening duo Sehwag and Gambhir. In last few over when Yuvi and Dhoni at crease, Flintoff had exchanged few words to Yuvi and what happens after words is history. Very next over England had to pay price for this one when Yuvi took on Stuart Broad to smashing him 6 sixes , first time in T20 world cup. What a classy and fearless batting display from Yuvi.

Unstoppable RP India must have to defeat host South Africa to reach semis. They are going with great guns until now and this is very crucial game for India. SA restricted India to a low score which is at par for them to reach semis. But, RP Singh had different Ideas. He bowled spell of his life, claiming 4 wickets to enable India to reach semis. He ranked 3rd in best bowler of tournament. Well done RP.

Outclass World Champions Yuvi and Shreeshant rattled World Champions Australia in semis. India was batting first and they needed some quick runs to reach a respectable total and who can provide them except Yuvraj. He came like a thunder and rattled Aussi all over park and scored 70 runs from just 30 balls. What a knock this had been. He absolutely crushed Aussi single handedly with his help India able to put up a huge score of 188 runs. But, Aussi also in mood to prove why they are World Champions. Gilly and Hayden started blazing their guns all over park, from first ball they made their intensions clear to attack. They took attack on Shreeshant, but this big hearted bowler came back with a surprise delivery to clean bowled Gilly. But, Hayden on other hand keeps ratting bowlers. He is in no mercy mood. When it looks like Aussi will easily win this game Dhoni brought Shree back for his final spell and here game turn around, when Shree out bowled Hayden to help India reach Finals.

Final IND Vs PAK you can imagine by reading only what a match this had been. Two arch rival taking one on one in First T20 final. India is playing without his master batsman Sehwag. Pakistan restricted India to low score of 157. When all wickets are falling Gambhir rose to occasion and played a classy innings. He along with Rohit Sharma's some quick runs India managed to put respectable score.

India started well with taking early wickets, but Imran Nazir is on song going with great guns. At that time Pakistan will easily win this cup. But, then comes a brilliant throw from Robin to run out Nazir and opened up doors for India. Then Pakistan loosed all crucial wickets and at a position of 70/6. From then onward Misbah Ul-Haq turn game for his side playing innings of his life. When in last over Pakistan needed just 13 runs from 6 balls, Dhoni played a master stroke with inviting Jogindar Sharma to bowl final over of tournament. Every body thought that was a mistake which might cost India a world cup. But, again destiny had something different in her mind. Sharma bowled first one wide, 2nd gone for six, now Pakistan Needs 6 runs in just 4 balls. Then comes a moment of life, on third ball Misbah got out to Joginder in trying to sweep him over third man and handed over a simple catch to Shreeshant, who is accepted this like a World Cup.

Wow what a journey this had been for India's new team. They outplayed every team in competition to win First World T20 Cup. Now second WT20 is going to begin in couple of hours in England. Form tomorrow warm up matches are being held, which you can see them on Star Cricket, Star Sports and ESPN. India is in Group A, along with Bangladesh and Ireland. Came from no where RCB, has restricted DC for a song on 143 runs small total. Hoping this time they will able to chase it easily. But that’s the blessing in disguise. RCB could not able to handle crunch situation lost in end by 6 runs to Deccan Chargers.

When RCB started their run chase they just need over 7 RPO. Make a splash, Manish Pandey and SA veteran Jack Kallis started cautiously. But in 3rd over Kallis lost his cool and took attack to opposition and got out to Purple Cap holder of a tournament RP Singh. DC got their first blood of tonight.

Merve again came up order and his task this time very simple, get runs in no time and attack opposition. He showed its intentions right from first ball. While he is going after fast bowlers, Gilly decided to take of speed from ball. He invited his ace spinner Ohja right after restrictions are over, and this move turned out to be huge success as he immediately got rid of inform Manish Pandey.

Royal’s two big scoring guns back in hut. Now they are heavily dependent on India’s batting veteran, The Wall Rahul Dravid. But, this time he just needs to rotate strike and give opportunity to man of moment Merve. He is hitting ball really hard. He took attack on Harris. Lots of thing happenings in background. Situation is tense and Aussi sledging expert Symonds and Harris invoking Merve. And this strategy worked as he decided to go after Ohja, but, he did a trick and invited him to go after him and fall in trap which is waiting for him, stumped out to agile Gilly.

Getting runs are really difficult out their as DC just not in mood to give anything in free to Royals. Dravid and Taylor has to do all the required to get their side home. But, RCB middle order did not able to deliver this time and bog down under pressure. RP bowl excellent last over, to won match for Deccan Chargers by 6 runs.

Before this RCB won toss and invited DC to bat first, hoping that will repeat their last script. Again Anil Kumble decided to open bowling, and got same result as time got slaughter Gilly. By effect of this DC have lost momentum and advantage of fielder restrictions. Suman tried to lift run rate got out cheaply in process of doing so. Then all dependent on biggest striker of ball, Andrew Symonds. He took charge immediately and lift tempo of his team.

When Symonds and Gibbsy looking like taking game away from Royals, Kumble decided to lead from front, and, boy he delivered again sending dangerous Symonds. Royals back in game. Now its all up to Under 23 player of tournament and DC vice captain Rohit Sharma. He reconstructed innings with help of Gibbsy with lots of one and two’s. He just got out on 24 runs in 17th over in search of few big runs for his team again to Kumble. What a game Kumble id having. He leading form front when his team needed his most, that’s sign of great leader.

Gibbsy who is playing anchor role after Gilly got out in very first over of tournament. He played opposite innings to his well known character to score unbeaten 53 runs and helped his team to a respectable score of 143 runs.

THE GAME

Anil Kumble has been The Game with his electrifying spell of bowling with amazing figures if 4-0-16-4 in a batsman dominated game. He led from front. Whenever his team needs a wicket, he got that in fine style. Gilly, Symonds, Sharma and V. Rao among his wickets.

Challengers Came From No Where to Finale

IPL2: CSK Vs RCB

2nd Semi Final: Overview

In a dramatic turn around, under dogs RCB is taking on mighty CSK at Johannesburg. Since Anil Kumble took over captaincy, RCB have lost only one in his inspirational leadership. They have 100% wining record on this ground. While on other hand, even though CSK are in semis, they are not looking confident, as their winning track is not consistent, especially bowling is underperformed.

After winning toss, Kumble elected to bat second. Parthiv Patel and returning from injury Hayden, started innings with cautious approach. In fact this time Patel taken responsibility of scoring more than run a ball. They together put up a 61 runs partnership. Hayden was the first man to dismiss on 23 runs. Dhoni promoted himself up the order ahead of inform Raina, which he does often to steer team till end. But, Patel followed Hayden’s way out LBW to Kallis on 36 runs.

Dhoni and Raina try to rebuild CSK inning. Both are not looking comfortable, as ball is not coming on to bat and Kumble and Merwe balling tight line, not giving an inch to opposition. Raina, decided to go after balling. He just got out to his own state mate Praveen Kumar on 20 runs when looking dangerous. Dhoni soon followed Raina, got out on 28 runs in process to clear fence to Merve who bowled extremely well in this tournament so far.

CSK bottom order Morkel, Oram and Badrinath failed once again to score quick runs. RCB bowled superbly. In fact their last over just conceded 2 runs and a wicket. RCB able to restrict CSK under 150 mark.

Challenger, Opener Manish Pandey and Jack Kallis started chasing of 146 runs target. Kallis took attack on Gony, scored him back to back boundaries, got out in same over on 9 runs. CSK got their first wicket. Kumble, continued his last unsuccessful experiment, sent Merve up the order, to score some quick runs. But, this time too he fails to deliver; his own country men Morkel bowled him on beautiful yorker on just 2 runs.

Last time MOM, Manish Pandey had different plans, he took attack on opposition. He played some extremely elegant cricketing shot, to show his last inning is not a fluke. He along with Dravid, made a crucial partnership of 72 runs. Dravid also stand tall on a this big occasions with taking attack to opposition. Both looked to attack CSK despite of wickets fowling to maintain momentum.

Jakati got much needed break through in 13th over. He clean bowled Pandey on 48 runs when looking unstoppable. Murali, able to send Dravid soon after to dug out on 44 runs. This is turning out to be great battle between bat and ball. Murali on his peak of a spell. RCB facing little problems facing ace bowler. But they just needed 7 RPO to win, can afford to play comfortably with out taking risks. In the end Kohli decide to cut loose to take home his team along with Taylor both remain not unbeaten on 24 and 17 runs respectively.

What a turn around in this game, two outplayed teams in inauguration IPL, taking on each other on Grand Finale. Both teams are having some great inform players and both are picking up in just time, both got much needed momentum. Will be interesting to see to come up ace to lift trophy?? He looked like veteran in his temperament.

Gilly the Butcher onslaught Devils

IPL2: DDD Vs DC

1st Semi Final: Overview

SuperSport Park, Centurion hosting 1st IPL2 semi-final match between 3D and DC. Both teams are very confident about winning. Especially Sehwag is very confident about his inform bowling attack and middle order. On other hand DC is not so good on chasing big total, has to some find solution for this.

Gilly won toss and decided to bat second, in which they are not so good at. Sehwag is looking very happy to bat first on centurion wicket. Gambhir and Warner are on crease and 3D will be hopping, they will provide a perfect start for them. But, this remains a dream only, when Harris send back Gambhir and Warner in his first 2 wicket maiden over.

After loss on first 2 wickets in first over, attacking duo, Sehwag and Dilshan, trying to reconstruct inning. They have to make sure, that they will not lose more wickets trying to get runs. Both used their experience to put much needed partnership of 85 runs. In 11th over Sehwag got out to Symonds on 39 runs from 31 balls with 5x4.

Dilshan other hand, who continued his wonderful form throughout this season IPL, keep playing his strokes. AB supported him very well with his small inning of 26 runs from 21 balls, got out to RP Singh when he was just looking to clear fence. Karthik, Bhatia and Mishra not able to contribute much more. Dilshan, who alone keep on fighting till end, got out on 65 runs on 51 balls with 7x4, 1x6. Delhi, managed to put 153 runs on board, which looks like defendable with kind of blowing attack they have.

Gilly and Gibbsy will as usual start proceedings from DC. Delhi’s bowler of tournament Drik Nannes will bowl first over. Two countrymen Gilly and Nannes facing each other. But, Gilly has different plans this time. He took attack straight to Nannes rattling 21 runs from his first over. What a start an innings.

Next over, Nehra, clean bowled Gibbsy, given first break through to 3D. But, Gilly is in no mood to slow down. He kept on his slaughterer mood and rattled Delhi’s in form bowling attack all over park. He absolutely demolishes opposition with his powerful batting. When nothing looks working, Sehwag himself decide to bowl. Its Captain to Captain now, but, again Gilly out thought Sehwag hit 25 runs in his one over spell with 3 biggies.
He scored 85 runs from just 35 balls with 10x4, 5x6. He got out just before strategic time out, but at that time DC was on 102 runs wit loss of just 3 wickets.

Until Gilly was at the crease, Sehwag looks to clue less. He does not understanding what to do. Gilly outplayed all plans of opposition. Symonds and Co keeps on attacking Delhi after time out break, despite of having less than ball runs. Symonds played littlie cameo of 24 runs from 15 balls with 2x4, 1x6. Suman and Rohit Sharma completed reaming formalities to take their side into semis easily.

THE GAME

Unanimously, Gilchrist is the chosen one for MOM. His inning might be remembered in times to come. Aussi veteran displays awesome bating skills. He also now be the man to scored fastest 50 in IPL2.

Royals Defeated Chargers

IPL2: BRC Vs DC

Match 56: Overview

For both teams this is nothing but a practice match, as Punjab has already out of competition after got defeated from Chennai. So both team has no pressure of a result as, both of them are already qualified for semis.

Anil Kumble won toss and elected to bat first. He made only single change in opening slot bringing in Manish Pandey. But this move did not worked and Kallis got out on 5 runs in second over of Purple Cap holder RP Singh. Merwe promoted up the order, as Kumble seems to be in experiment mood. He showed some intent to score quick runs and try to give momentum which is required badly for RCB to score big total. He got out to Symonds on 23 runs (3x4, 1x6).Rahul Dravid and Ross Taylor are in mood of visitors, as both of them got out to Ojha without troubling score.

But, on other end Pandey, who is just spectator, did not bother about tumbling of wickets. He kept on playing big shots in the end got his maiden hundred. He along with handy knock form Kholi 19 runs from just 9 balls with two biggies took RCB at a respectable score of 170 runs. Manish Pandey, the only Indian batsman to score century in IPL, remain not out on 114 runs from just 73 balls.

Deccan Chargers fully charged opening duo Gilly and Gibbs, started proceeding. This time Kumble has decided to open bowling himself. Both Kumble and Gilly are rivals of each other from there International Cricketing carrier. Both of them started watchfully. In mean time Kallis has to go back because of injury and seems will not ball this evening, what a blow to RCB. Praveen Kumar comes in attack to replace Kallis. Now its Gibbs time, he joins the party with taking on more than 20 runs in a Kumar’s single over.

When it looks like DC will be able to chase target easily, Gilly got out to Akhil on 15 runs. T.Suman showed some intent to make runs, also failed on 12 runs. On the other side Gibbs are in good touch, played some excellent bottom hand shots and given signs of returning to his brutal form, got out on 60 runs from just 43 balls with 3x4, 4x6.

From Gibbs wicket onwards DC never able to come out, Symonds 18, R. Sharma 12 runs and V. Rao only managed to get 8 runs, failed to take team their team to a confidence booster victory before semis. On other side, Kumble leads from front, made decisive changes, rotated his blowers very well, got himself on when ever team needs break through. Over all a great come back for RCB. Hope they will continue their winning streak in semis also. If they able to get into final, then it will be terrific turnaround in this competition, and there owner will be on cloud 9.

Exiting Moments of Match

RP Sing drops a dolly when Manish Pandey on 2 runs on bowling of Harris. From there on Pandey never look behind and scored his maiden century, in fact first Indian, remain unbeaten on 114 runs.

THE GAME

Debutant Manish Pandey got MOM in his first IPL match, due to his brilliant batting show. He scored unbeaten 114 runs in just 73 balls with 10x4, 4x6.

Riders Outplayed Kings

IPL2: CSK Vs KKR

Match 51: Overview

IPL T20 as its best. KKR is playing their last game of this IPL season. So will they able to keep pride with last win is a question in every bodies mind. As per old adage “If end is good then everything is good”. And KKR is finally able to get their second win, in what a style, beating one of best sides in IPL2 by 7 wickets.

KKR started their mammoth chase of 184 runs with Ganguly and McCullum. This is certainly looks possible on Super Park, Centurions, good batting pitch. McCullum from first ball was in no mercy mood. He is absolutely in mood of sending every ball out of park. He rattled every CSK bowler except Murali.

After Ganguly back to hut, McCullum along with Hodge consolidate innings without loosing required run rate. Hodge keeps on rotating strike. On other hand McCullum is waging his tell. He got out dramatically on 81 from 48 balls with 12x4 and 3 massive sixes.

After McCullum, David Hussy also got run out courtesy Dhoni. Now, it’s up to Hodge who is being spectator on other end. Hodge played an innings of his life to take KKR at par along company of Saha.

Before this Dhoni as usually winning toss and elected to bat first. This time they are playing without Hayden. They got a good steady start. Patel and Bailey given them start they are looking for with out loosing an wicket. After they back to dug out, in form Raina carries his blistering form and score 52 runs. Dhoni supported him very well. He scored 40 runs along with Morkel 21 runs. Both remains not out till end after Suresh Raina got out. CSK has managed to put 18r runs on board.

Exciting Moments of the Match

It’s really difficult to pick up exiting moments, as whole match is so exiting and heart stopper. But, its un-doubted McCullum’s and in end Brad Hodge’s thrilling batting is surely the movements to watch out for. Both of them have played so effortlessly and given no chance to opposition. They are absolutely ruthless and smart at times, stealing ones and twos. Keeping their cool while Murali is bowling and did not try to take any chances against him. But, took on all other bowlers to achieve fascinating victory.

THE GAME

It’s quite difficult to choose between McCullum and Hodge. But in the end Brad Hodge has got MOM in te end. His unbeaten finishers knock of 71 runs in 44 balls (4x4, 4x6)

Super Kings Rules Centurion

IPL2: CSK Vs KEP
Overview

KEP started to chase a mammoth but not impractical 187 target by D/L method. Sohal and Katich started to show their intention from first ball. Sohal tries to smack first ball of innings, but on second ball Morkel bowled him out. Then Katich and Goel took responsibility of consolidate innings as well as don’t let down required run rate. Katich plays a superb innings of 50 runs in just 25 balls with 3x4, 4x6. He along with Yuvraj steered inning. Both shown great batting temperament and scored more than balls runs individually with all proper cricketing shots.

After Katich went back to dug out, Yuvraj and Mahela tries hard to take KEP to victory. Yuvraj makes use of a opportunity he got when he was just on 10 runs, Gony unable to catch sky scrapper and given life line to Yuvraj. He along with Mahela rattled CSK blowers all over park. Morkel, Gony and Murali are then once who suffered from his furious batting.

When it’s looking like KEP will chase CSK, Dhoni played a master stroke. He introduced Raina into attack. He bowled extremely well under pressure, with conceding only 8 runs in 2 over’s. Raina and Ballaji bowled superb death over’s, to take CSK to victory by 12 runs.

Before this CSK won toss and elected to bat first. They continued their experiment with opening slot. Badrinath got out on first ball. Then match was affected by rain. After 1hours covers took off and play started, by D/L method each team will get 18 over’s.

Hayden, Raina and Dhoni continued their superb form. Hayden shows once again why he belongs to Orange Cap. He rattled 89 runs in just 58 balls with 8x4,6x6. He also carried on his revenge with Sreesanth. With Raina’s 32 runs in 20 balls with 4x4, 1x6 and Dhoni’s 56 runs in just 27 balls with 7x4, 2x6, CSK able to post stiff total of 185/3.

Exiting Moments of Match

When it looks like KEP will win Centurion battle. Yuvraj and Mahela brutally scoring runs all over park. No bowler able to contain them and KEP had 7 wickets in hands. So they are going ahead with all guns blazing.
Dhoni decided to play a masterstroke. He called Suresh Raina to bowled in death over’s, when Yuvraj in no mercy mood. That gamble played off. Raina bowled excellent spell with figures look like 2-0-8-0.

THE GAME

Matthew Hayden got MOM match for his brutal knock of 89 runs in just 58 balls with 8x4, 6x6. He retains his Orange Cap with 378 runs, in 8 matches. This 89 runs innings is his highest score in IPL.

Devils Hunted Chargers

IPL2: DDD Vs DC
Overview
This is going to be another gem. Two batting power house taking on each other here in Centurion Park. 3D (DDD) won toss and surprisingly elected to bowl first, where we have seen in previous matches batting second is difficult because of due on ground and odd ball is holding on and not coming easily on bat.

3D blowers has to deal with this IPL seasons in form hottest pair and hard hitters if game Adam Gilchrist and Gibbs. But, it seems they are ready for it. Nannes get rid off Dangerous Gibbs on Duck and Gilchrist (8 runs) in his first two overs. He got two big wickets of the game and this could be game. As these two are major run makers of game.

After this, Rohit Sharma 17 runs (2x4) and A. Bilakhia 22 runs (2x4), T. Suman 23 runs (1x4, 1x6) tries to consolidate DC innings. But, in the end Smith has played a much needed 48 runs in just 28 balls (5x4, 2x6) at quick time to help reach Chargers to a respectable total of 148 runs.

Sehwag and Gambhir last years IPL successful opening pair has responsibility to give a good and steady start to 3D. This year they are unable to do so, can they do it now. Despite of some stitches to his fingers Sehwag came to crease. He started cautiously and with out taking too much risk he reached 20 runs in just 6 balls, all these are normal cricketing stoke. That’s his special ability makes him dangerous batsman in world. He got out to RP. Singh trying to cut him over point, Gibbs accepted catch like a piece of cake. DC got their first blood.

AB Devilliers promoted up the order ahead of Dilshan to played an anchor role, failed to do so and got out to Shoaib Ahmed’s first over with out addition to score board. Getting runs is really looking difficult for 3D, due to pitch and good bowling. So, Gambhir tries to improvise with paddle sweep to Shoaib and got out leg before wicket to him on 17 runs (3x4). This is second wicket to Shoaib in his second over.

Dilshan arrives at crease when 3D are in trouble with 52/3 in just 7 over’s. Now, it’s up to Dilshan and Karthik to see 3D home. Up to 15th over they keep on getting ones and twos. Glichrist introduced Sharma and V. Rao in to attack. This is what 3D is waiting for, so they can score some quick runs with these part timers. They suddenly changed gears and took attack on oppositions. When nothing is working Gilly introduced his last weapon Edwards in to attack in 19th over to give much needed break through to them. He exchanges few words to Dilshan to make him arouse. He then hits back with 4’s and 6’s to Edwards to finish game in 8 balls remaining.

This is really a clinical performance from 3D. They executed plans very well to defeat Changers first time in IPL2, with help of some good bowling by Nannes, Nehra and Dilshan in the end.

Exciting Moments of the Match

Sehwag might face criticism bowling first on this wicket, but Nannes took responsibility to provide much needed early break through, by take two huge wickets of Gilchrist and Gibbs. That turns game in favors of 3D. His bowling figures are 4-0-16-2.

Nehra also bowled beautifully in death over’s with figures 4-0-30-2 which looks good in batsman dominated game.

THE GAME

D.Nannes is MOM choice officially. But, for me it’s Dilshan, The Game. With out his unbeaten knock on 52 runs in 46 balls (4x4, 3x6) DDD is not able to win match against Chargers. He once again proved he is one of great finishers of game and won game which is almost loosed.

IPL2: RR Vs KKR

Super win In Super Over

What a Superb match. First IPL2 match, that goes to wire. In a nail biting match, RR going to take on KKR. Both teams are fighting for points. Both are down in total points chart. After winning a toss, KKR, decided to field first. At time of toss, Warne said, first time in is carrier he is unable to decide whether to bat OR ball first. So you can understand how important this match for both teams.

RR, once again got a disasters start. They loss first 2 wickets on score of 14 runs. Yusuf Pathan has got promoted in order, in absence of Hard Hitter, Henderson, and, he did not disappoint his captain. He scores quick 42 runs in 21 balls (4x6, 6X2) before his departure. After him, Jadeja, Mascarenhas, Raut played a handful innings to take team to at least bowl something for.

KKR openers walked in to make 151. Started cautiously, but again McCullum fails to deliver and got out on 3. Then, Gayle and Shukla try to consolidate innings. Gayle carried on his form, to score blistering 41 runs in 33 balls (4x2, 6x4). After Gayle departs, Gangly took charge in hand. but got no support from other hand, as wickets kept fowling in regular interval. With help of Yashpal Singh he tries, to put his team in reach of victory. He got out when KKR required 2 runs to win in 1 ball. Ishant Sharma manages to score one run and got run out taking second run. Scores are level now.

First time in IPL2, Super over come in to play to decide winner of this game. Where team batting first will bat first with help of 3 batsmen and only one bowler is allowed from opposition to bowl. If batting side lost 2 wickets, they lost game.

KKR, is decide to go with McCullum, Gayle and Ganguly and RR decided to go with 18 years, new comer Kaman Khan. They gave 16 runs target to RR to win.

RR, decided to go with Pathan, Jadeja and Mascarenhas And from KKR it was mysterious bowler Ajantha Mendis to take on them. But Pathan out played Mendis and showed why world called him hard hitter of cricket ball. He smashed 6,2,6,4 in consecutive bowls to give thrilling victory to his side. What a win.

IPL2: DDD Vs CSK

Well, well, well here is match everybody would want to see. A fierce competition between bat and ball. For the fans the fans, match is not in between DDD Vs CSK, but, in between world’s most destructive opening batsman Viru Vs wily and inspirational M.S.Dhoni.

Today, 3D (DDD),won the toss and decided to first use beautiful batting condition in Kingsmead, Durban. A dream pair in today’s all kind of world cricket arena, once again having lots of expectations of their fans, to give flying start to their home state team.

But CSK and L.Ballaji had different plans. Gauti step out to Ballaji on first ball of innings, Ballaji did not change his length and forced him to play in slip, got his man on first ball of innings. What a start of game. Then sehwag follows him in 2nd over without to much disturbing the score. It’s 2 for 8, and, now it’s time for Dilshan and AB’Devilliers to shape innings to a respectable total.

Dilshan was in supreme touch. He did not waste too many deliveries and score quick 50 runs (4x7, 6x2), to give much needed momentum to his side. Meantime, on other hand AB’Devilliers, who is playing supportive role, took charge in hand after Dilshan departure. He played a marvelous inning and rattled all CSK bowlers all over park in his blistering unbeaten innings of 105 from 54 balls which included 4x5 and 6x6 massive sixes to take 3D to a highest score of 189 in IPL2.

In reply to 3D, Hayden and Patel, CSK successful opening pair, has started very well. Hayden took attack to opposition to take score 50 runs in only 5 over’s loss of none.
He reaches his 2nd fifty in IPL2, to become leading score maker. Its look like they have decided to finish game before 20 over’s.

When everything is looking fine for CSK, turn around happen. Patel and Hayden got out in quick succession. Afterwards I think CSK is not able to handle situation. Raina, Dhoni, Flintoff, Morkel all are unable to capitalize start they have got. These hard hitters in world cricket are not able to put ball out of park and lost wickets and momentum in process, to cause 2nd loss in tournament.

I don’t think its great bowling performance by 3D. Except Vettori, others ball normal spells. I think CSK, given up the match, without trying. They needed 10 RPO, which is possible to make in this kind of format with such a powerful batting line up. They are unable to put breaks with likes of Muralitharan, Flintoff & Morkel. This is definitely a worry factor for CSK & Dhoni. Last time also they bounce back after initial losses. Hope this time also they will like to repeat last year script.

Mystery Unclothed

Before beginning of 3rd test match in The Basin Reserve, I written blog “Mystery Or History In wellington”. Now, this puzzled solved yesterday with India sealing 3 match series 1-0. India broken 41 years jinx in The Basin Reserve. This series win in true manner record breaking in many way. Lots of records broken and new one created. M.S. Dhoni Become first wicket keeper to go on pass another Indian legend Kirmani with taking 6 catches in a inning, Rahul Dravid went pass Mark Waugh, to become highest catch taker in test, Gautam Gambhir is second opener to went pass India’s Batting Legend Sunil Gavaskar with making more than 2000 runs in 25 test.

As I had tagged in my last blog, Only God Save Kiwis, seems to be true on final day of 3rd test. Rain, came to rescue black caps from test defeats. When Indian were only short of 2 wickets from creating a history, rain started pouring down buckets. Finally umpires decided to called of test because of rain & murky weather.

Black Caps resumed their inning toady with determination to stay as long as possible on wickets to save test match. Taylor & Franklin shown responsibility and sincere efforts to save test. Taylor was instrumental in his knock of 107 runs, before falling to Harbhajan with a excellent Yorker. After that when nothing seems happening Dhoni decided to hand over ball to Tendulkar. Tendulkar Make Hey of this opportunity, with taking two crucial wickets of McCullum & Franklin. After That classic Off-spinner Harbhajan wiped off Southee took India 2 wickets away victory.

Overall this is a fruitful series for India. Everybody saying this is going to be a Acid Test foe Dhoni’s Men. Dhoni also needs to prove his captains skill in Kiwis land. But this new Indian team took this challenge and prove all critics wrong.
Players like Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Laxman, Dhoni, Zaheer, Yuvraj, Harbhajan and Ishant proved there metal. This new team shown all world that they can adjust to any condition and beat any side in world on any surface.
This is really good sign for Indian Cricket. Hope they will continues their winning strick in ICC T20 world cup in England also.

Gambhir Brilliance Leads India

It's Gambhir times, friends. Yet again he proved his metal to give India match winning lead of 531/5 at end of 3rd day. He was little bit skeptical in early morning and taking judgment of what ball is doing. Once he got fair bit of idea of pitch then he started to play his natural game. In his classy innings of 167 (4X16, 6X2), he played strokes all over the park.

India started ahead toady with lead of 182 runs. Dravid & Gambhir shows there class yet again. When they played out 1st hour of play with out any wicket, New Zealand bowlers had lost their hope to win final test. They knows how crucial is to take advantage of 1st hours play. But, Gambhir & Dravid in no mood of mercy. They rattled kiwis lack luster attack all over Basin Reserve.

Gambhir is well accompanied by Rahul Dravid (60) and VVS Laxman (61). Dravid fall out to Vettori with a smart and athletic piece of wicket keeping from McCullum. Dravid tries to play paddle swipe shot and McCullum took a great catch at leg slip. Before this, he was looking in grate temperament to score 100 in may be his last innings in New Zealand soil. Tendulkar falls on 9 runs to a classic left arm delivery from Vettori.

After tea when nothing looks working for kiwis then Vettori has decided to use his last card by taking new ball. This trick works for kiwis and a much needed break through provided by O’Brien. He got the ball to swing. Gambhir and Laxman both falls to him in back to back over’s.

At end of days play Dhoni 16 (4X3) and Yuvraj 15 (4X2) were unbeaten at the crease.
Tomorrow India might like to score quick runs and I think may declare at lunch with lead around to 550-600. And for New Zealand perspective this will be a huge task to survive near 5 sessions in front of Zaheer, Ishant and Harbhajan. My bet is on Harbhajan. If he get his length right and got some bounce from pitch, then no one can stop Indians wining test series after 41 years.

God Will Only Save Kiwis from Indians

As I mentioned yesterday, kiwis will able to get early breakthrough to put stop mark on India’s 1st inning. They succeeded to do this easily without conceding more runs on the score board. From home side Chris Martin was only bowler who looks like getting wicket and hurrying Indian batsman. He claimed 4 wickets. Others bowlers Tim Southee, O’Brien and Skipper Vettori could not able to leave any mark, even though they have claimed wickets. Vettori could not get any help from wicket & look pretty ordinary in his spell of just 9 over’s.

When Indians came to field to defend their 1st inning total 379, all eyes were on how they will make use on new ball & early morning seaming conditions. Can Ishant & Zaheer will able to get early break through? These kinds of questions will be on every Indians mind.

Its Zaheer, who took responsibility as a senior bowling member in the team. He claimed his 7th time 5 wickets hall mark, in The Basin Reserve. He used weather conditions better than any other bowler. Even though he was bowling against wind, he got success. He put all his experience in count to claim 5 wickets. This was a match winning performance by him. Kiwi’s batsman has no answer to his swinging deliveries. Kiwi’s opener Martin Guptill was his first victim, then Flynn, McIntosh and kiwi’s new star batsman J. Ryder and Tim Southee are went to Zaheer.

On other hand Harbhajan has supported very well to Zaheer to keep pressure on both sides. He bowled with lot of flight and variation. Bounce of Basin Reserve also helped him a lot and he not missed to use it with good effect by claming 3 kiwi wicket including important wicket of B.McCullum. Bhajji always likes bouncy wickets. Ishant and Munaf claim one wicket each to restrict kiwis, with a massive match winning lead of 182 runs.

I think tomorrow, India will try to make sure to gone pass 400 figure mark. And looking at India’s heavy batting line up it should not be impossible for them. If this track hold tight and carries some bounce on day 4th and 5th I swore, their will be nobody except God to save kiwis from Turbinator.

See-Saw in the Basin Reserve

In wellington’s weather not only ball is swinging but game course also. It’s a see-saw situation in day 1 at Basin Reserve, as both teams are trying to win final test. After winning crucial toss in morning Vettori invited India to bat first & thought his blowers will take advantage of early morning conditions and provide New Zealand much needed wickets. Vettori must have to field first, as he took 5 specialist bowlers in team.

But, Indian openers had some different plans. Sehwag and Gambhir again provided nice start. Together they put up a 73 runs partnership in no time of 15 over’s. Sehwag again was looking in good touch, hitting 48 runs in just 51 balls including 4X7, 1X6. Gambhir also looking solid on the other end.

Kiwis then able to put break on Indians runs with back to back wickets of Sehwag & Gambhir, (23 runs) in quick succession, sending Indian openers back in pavilion.

Solid Dravid & Classy Sachin again put up a much needed partnership of 90 runs to anchor India, which includes Sachin’s 62 runs with 4X11. Sachin is look good nick & seems to make hundred.

But again, Kiwis hit back to Indians clamming Sachin, Laxman (4), Yuvraj (9) & Dravid (31) wickets in quick time. That puts India on back foot on score of 20for 6.

Skipper Dhoni & his tail have something different mindset. Indians tail shown good temperament & willingness to stay on crease, paid off. Lower order added 143 runs with important contributions from Skipper MSD (52), Harbhajan (52), and Zaheer (30) helped India to reach affordable score of 347 for 9 at end of day one.

Day 1, play is like See-Saw situation. Tomorrow kiwis will look to take early wickets and try to make comparative total to level series 1-1.

SA Vs AUS 1st ODI Match Preview

Arch rivals meeting again one on one in 1st ODI today at Durban. Aussi will definitely try to take advantage of South African all rounder Kallis. For me Australian team is looking little bit down. They have to bring in some confidence inside team. Aussi Skipper itself looking not in good nick. His batting form definitely will be a worry for team. He must take a responsibility of making runs, while Hussy brothers & others will revolve along him.
Mitchell Johnson & David Hussy’s are in good nick. Aussi have brought one day specialties like Bracken & Hopes in team. Hope they will contribute to team’s success. Aussi’s are not finding good opening pair combination, like Gilly & Hayden. Michael Clarke is surly not looking comfortable in top order. So they must look for some specialist for opening slot.

Africans, must be happy with their Captain Smith is coming back from injury. Africans must be high on confidence after winning T20. They brought fresh players inside team, which will try to lift team’s moral and add exuberance. I personally like to see how Smith tackles Johnson rattling pace & bodyline stuff. This is going to be interesting battle. Spinners will play a crucial role. Johan Botha is in terrific form. He is not only bowling economical spells but taking wickets at crucial juncture. Unfortunately Aussi don’t have good quality spinner. They depend on part timers like Clarke, Hussy & might be North.

So don’t miss to watch 1st Day Night ODI starting at 12.30 GMT. Hopefully this match will go to wire.

History or Mystery in Wellington

Indians will wake up with this question tomorrow morning in mind. Since 41 years every body from India is waiting to win series in kiwis land. In form team India is well aware of this fact and they would like to seal series and create history this time. Last time it was in 1968 Team India had won in leadership of Nawab Mansour Ali Khan Patodi.

In Wellington not only 22 players will play but stormy and cold weather and pitch will play 23rd and 24th player’s crucial role. Both pitch & weather will be a key factor. Indians are looking more balanced side in batting and blowing department than kiwis. If you take look at records of number of fifties made by India’s playing eleven and kiwis eleven, its nearly more than 180 fifties compared to 48 fifties of black caps. Only Indian master blaster Sachin Tendulkar himself has scored nearly 45 fifties alone in test matches.
Bowlers also in nice rhythm. India’s new peace duo Zaheer & Ishant bowling good and tight spells in tandem to keep pressure on kiwis opening batsman. They also successful in taking early wickets. Both of them equally supported by third seamer Munaf Patel & India’s Spin Back Bone Harbhajan Singh. Forth seamer L.Ballaji might get chance to play last test, as conditions are looking friendly to swing bowling. India only concern of fielding department. They will have to take crucial catches to support blowers.

On other hand New Zealand players will try to carry forward their 2nd test performance in Wellington. They have definite advantage of home condition. Form of Jessie Ryder, Ross Taylor, McCullum and skipper Denial Vettori will lift team’s confidence. They will again have to continue their great show, which they have left in 2nd test. Skipper Vettori must have concerned about his blowing department. In last test they are unable to crack India’s Batting line up and failed to take 22 wickets. If they are deciding a strategy to have a whole in The Wall Rahul Dravid, India has second Wall Gautam Gambhir ready to put more pressure on kiwis. More worries for kiwi skipper.

Good news for India is, their magical skipper may play final frontier tomorrow. His presence will definitely increase confidence of Indian players. Both teams will defiantely try to make first use of grassy pitch & weather conditions and tries to take early wickets.

For me it’s going to be bowler’s game. They are the ones who is going stand in between History or Mystery in Wellington.

Tomorrow another two interesting battle will going on in between Australia Vs South Africa and West Indies Vs England.

Cricket Carnival Coming Up

<meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; Gambhir, Dravid, Sachin, Laxman & Yuvraj took responsibility on their shoulder to rescue India from losing 2nd test.
After getting follow-on, Indian batsman shown great skills & patience on 4th & 5th day of match. Gautam Gambhir, who is the Archetype of Indian’s batting. He nearly stood 11 hours on crease to blocked one end. He might not scored maximum numbers, but his efforts are not any means lesser than match winning performance for India. He was well accompanied by The Wall Rahul Dravid who made 62 (4X6, 6X1), Sachin 64 (4X9, 6X1), VVS Laxman 124 (4X25, 6X0), Yuvraj Singh 54 (4X10, 6X0). Amazing fact is, Dravid slams sixer after 24 innings.
VVS Laxman is instrumental in his 124 runs inning. He along with Yuvraj Singh makes sure that there will be no damage after Gautam Gambhir’s classy innings.
We hope M.S.Dhoni will come back for final frontier in wellington. Indians definitely wants to win 3rd test to clinch series against kiwis in their home after 41 years.
On other hand kiwis will carry 2nd test confidence to final bash.

Square Peg In A Round Hole

That’s a situation of sehwag. Follow me, probably that’s message from sehwag to team India. He himself showed no temperament to stay at least on crease till end of 3rd day. After getting follow on India are 47 for loss of India’s irresponsible caption.

Now India has to play out of there skin to save 2nd test match. It’s not that, NZ has bowled exceptionally well, but it was Indians, who shown reluctance to stay on crease. Yuvraj Singh is one of classic example on in-consistency. In fact zaheer khan is better test player than him.

What should I write? I am running out of words. In fact, I don’t want right anything negative. I should also follow sehwag--------------- to become careless about Team India’s performance.

Victorious South Africa & West Indies

On the other hand, South African & West Indies are managed to do all things which are looking impossible for team India.

In first T20 international match, on Johannesburg, south Africans shown great team work & sharpness in bowling & fielding department to restrict mighty Australian’s on not enough 166 runs.

David Hussy was instrumental on his not out knock of 88 (4X5,6X6)runs, who was well accompanied by Australians dashing opening batsman David Warner. Ultimately South African achieved this target five balls remaining.

West Indies also continued there winning strick to beat England in 2nd one-dayer by D/L method. There bowlers put up fast & furious blowing show, which reminds past west India grates like Garner & Sobres.

Save Napier

Yes, what seems to be draw turns out to be a battle for saving test. Indians are not at all looking to bowled out oppositions. There are waiting for declaration from newzelanders. It seems Indians are desperately missing India’s successful captain.
Sehwag has no plans in armory to bowled NZ out, and running short of strategies which are needed to decide on field.

Bowlers are also looking dis-array. Only zaheer is bowled is heart out. Ishant, munaf & harbhajan looking to finish there spell. Harbhajan is really disappointing. He is Indians leading off-spinner & wicket taker. It has no meaning, he will wait for pitch to support him & then he start spinning ball. I think, he should learn from spinning masters like Shane Warn & Murlidharan, who turns ball on any kind of pitches. There is no meaning he is looking to contain batsman till pitch gets supportive to spin bowling.

On the other hand newzeland looking in full control of game. No doubts out of fear of Indians batting strength, they declared so late. They have not created a sporty wicket. They know Indians bowling strengths. If wicket is useful to their bowlers then Indians blowers having strength to make most of it. Full credit to NZ batsman they shown temperament to stand on pitch and make most use of pitch.

Sehwag again shows no responsibility at all to stand on pitch and fail to put up batting show. Gambhir other hand followed his opening partner and given away his wicket at a crucial juncture when he was looking good.
Dravid is also guilty for exposing night watchman, Ishant Sharma. He should have taken responsibility of a senior batsman and tried to take as much as strike as possible. Now once again it all depends of Indians Maestro Sachin Tendulkar.

Opening Soon

Get ready to Yorkked on 27 March 2009.

Tighten your pads & gloves, otherwise you will be get Yorkkkkkked.

Coming Soon for your service.

Till then bye & Happy Blogging.

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
