The hornets often attack honey bee hives with the goal of obtaining the honey bee larvae. A single scout, sometimes two or three, will cautiously approach the nest, giving off pheromones which will lead the other hornets to the hive’s location. The hornets can devastate a colony of honey bees: a single hornet can kill as many as 40 honey bees per minute thanks to its large mandibles which can quickly strike and decapitate a bee. It takes only a few of these hornets a few hours to exterminate the population of a 30,000-member hive, leaving a trail of severed insect heads and limbs.
We were lucky enough to find the original documentary narration from which used the creators of this song – National Geographic’s “Hornets From Hell“, but we predominantly used footage from another great documentary – BBC’s Natural World episode “Buddha, Bees And The Gaint Hornet Queen”.
For the soundtrack to this massacare we used Audio remix of InsideInfo track “Honey Bee”. You can find it on their “Grow EP” which was released on 28th May 2012 on Viper Recordings.

“Bunkergang” is a video created in collaboration with industrial music label “Sturm” and musicians from newly formed band “Autogen“. It represents our ongoing collaboration with local industrial sub-culture in Riga. Video material filmed by “Sturm” folks in real, still functional bunker. Song written by Kaspars Kalniņš from “Autogen” who is also one of the founders of former “Rosewater” – one of the most recognized industrial band in Latvia which set new quality standards and performed abroad as well.

Our team helped out with video editing, assembling all footage into one piece, laying out the “story” and adding some minor video effects.

Project was started with a goal of creating music-video with elements of horror genre. It continues a line of Horror Music Videos (HMV) we started to develop recently. Opportunity of having for a time a camera in our hands was utilized in improvised fashion.  Song of choise fell on “Macabre Secrets“,  song written by Mexican EBM/industrial band Dulce Liquido.

This project represents the first seeds of inspiration “sucked into” us during our creative collaboration as VJs with Latvian industrial music sub-culture and from industrial music itself.

Video deals with a desolated human-like being wandering around in abandoned, decayed building and experiencing  fears from outside world.

In this performance we finally started to control music with help of Ableton Live. We created special “light” version of our Halloween performance mix, using only industrial tracks from the whole mix.

As sources for our video footage we used more than 100 documentaries, especially from series “Unreported World” and “Dispatches” from British Channel 4.

We Are The Future (Yogzatot 016)

This is first part of our huge infographic dedicated to mighty ancient Greek Gods and their family relations. We discovered on wikipedia a schematic “family tree of the Greek Gods” and decided to change it into more visual infographic.

In this project we used such software as:

• Gimp for processing of source images (some images taken from Wikipedia, some from DeviantArt);
• Inkscape for drawing schem of infographic (you can see aproximate scale of this work in this picture);
• 3ds Max 2008 for modeling 3d elements;
• Grow:Ivy plugin for 3ds Max for simulation of growing plants.

This project is open for collaboration. If you want to help us to finish this enormous infographic contact us (yogzatot [at] gmail.com). Especially needed artists for drawing images of gods and their descendants.

Infographic was created using only open source software – Gimp and Inkscape. We also created three versions of this infographic in English, Latvian and Russian to better promote our work with different communities.

In “Bloody Century” we decided to show all the bad things that happened with humanity in 20th century. During our first one hour performance we showed footage from WWI, WWII, Korea War, Vietnam War, Six Day War, Yom Kippur War, Iraq-Kuwait War and Gulf War.
