Dad has been busy catching fish, while mom stays busy feeding her chicks and cleaning house. The larger chick requires more attention than the other two and makes sure he is first in line to eat! It looks like Oliveea needs a bigger house as the chicks are a little over 2 weeks old and have more than tripled in size. Both Oscar and Oliveea are such wonderful, attentive parents!<xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/YadkinOspreyNest/~4/FcLsFsY3ML4" height="1" width="1" /></div></content>

Sometimes we are looking for eggs and other times we are giving our personnel privacy when they are within camera range. We try to keep our distance as much as possible. You can see Otters playing in the water and around the rocks where they like to sit and munch on fish. The tailrace section of the dam is heavily occupied with Herons and a few eagles. It is a safe beautiful haven that is kept natural, which has helped in re-populating our Ospreys that were once very limited in their numbers.
