A woman died from a massive allergic reaction that could have been caused by the glue in her hair extensions, a pathologist said yesterday. 

Atasha Graham, 34, who had used hair extensions for 14 years, collapsed after clubbing until the early hours.

Home Office pathologist Michael Heath told the inquest into her death that the latex glue used to apply her extensions – or the solvent for removing old ones – may have been to blame.

He added: ‘I’ve seen cases where people using solvent to apply extensions has actually caused anaphylactic shock.

‘There are about ten to 20 deaths a year in this country, many more in America. I have seen four in the last three months.’

Dr Heath told the hearing at Southwark Coroner’s Court in London: ‘The hair extensions in Atasha’s hair were of a latex type. This may or may not be related [to her death]. If it is the hair extension, normally a reaction would occur within half an hour of applying them.’

But he added that traces of glue or solvent could have seeped into her bloodstream hours later after she started perspiring on the dancefloor.

Don Cornelius, the man behind Soul Train, was found dead in his Sherman Oaks, Calif., home this morning.

TMZ reports that law enforcement sources say he died from a gunshot wound to the head and officials believe it was self-inflicted. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Cornelius was 75.

What would you do with $1.82 billion worth of shredded money? In Ireland, people build houses out of it — at least that’s what Dublin-based artist Frank Buckley did. The unemployed artist originally wanted to create a gallery for his series of mixed-media artworks called “Expressions of Recession,” but he ended up building a house instead.

Buckley has been working roughly 12 hours a day every day since the beginning of December. During the early part of the construction process, he made bricks out of the decommissioned Euros Ireland’s mint lent him. In all, around 50,000 money bricks went into building the house that consists of a bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room. He plans to continue expanding the house that sits on an empty office building to include a kitchen, a shower, and a patio.

If you’re wondering how it feels to live in a house made out of paper currency, he said that it’s quite warm inside: “Whatever you say about the Euro, it’s a great insulator.” Frank is one of the countless people all over the globe affected by recession, and he built the house because he “wanted to create something from nothing.” It will take around seven more weeks to complete building his new home, but Buckley (who’s been living in the house since December) welcomes any visitor who wants to take a look at his billion-dollar masterpiece.

You know the economy is really going to bloody hell when ATMs start to pay bank customers with dead rodents, which is exactly what happen to Gholam Hafezi, the guy in this photo. He got his cash and dead Mickey here. Gholam Hafezi wanted to take out 700 Swedish Kronor from this ATM. “I got my 700 kronor but I never got the receipt. At the same time, I saw a cord that was jamming the ATM slot.” You know where this is going. Hafezi didn’t at the time. He thought somebody may be trying to do something illegal, so he pulled the cord. He then discovered it was a mouse tail.

The ATM was located at a Coop Forum—a famous Swedish chain—supermarket. He ran to customer service and asked for help. They told him that the ATM was not his responsibility but the guys in charge of the shopping carts offered their help. One of them was able to take out the whole mouse: “he took out the mouse.
