Psychic Card Trick Tutorial

The Effect:

You tell the spectator to name any card out loud. You then say you are going to call a psychic friend and he will tell you the name of the card you thought of without anyone telling him. The psychic names the card correctly.

The Secret:

The spectator can think of any card except the joker you don't need to force them to think of a specific card. As long as you know the name of the card the trick will work. Call a friend who is in on the trick (they don't really need to be psychic.) When the call is answered say to your friend "can i speak to the psychic please." That's the code to let your friend know that your doing the trick Straight away your friend should start saying Clubs,hearts,spades,diamonds." You need to stop them at the correct suit by saying Yes please."

How to lift a bottle just by using a paper straw

This is not a fool-proof puzzle. You have to put your faith in an untested paper straw. I recommend that you only do this trick over a soft surface so that there is no damage if it doesn't work.

Show your friends an empty bottle and a paper straw. Stand the bottle on the table and then ask if anyone can lift the bottle from the table without touching it with anything except the straw. And it is against your rules (well, this is your puzzle!) to tie the poor defenseless straw round the neck of the bottle.

A few over-confident people may try, then you show them that it is really easy. Well, it is really easy indeed!

You just bend the bottom couple of inches of the straw at a sharp upward angle to create a sort of hook.

Now you can push the bent end of the straw into the bottle

The Performance

Our intrepid magician goes forth onto the unforgiving streets.

A passing female is asked to take part in a simple experiment...

"I'll riffle the cards before your eyes watch think of one card."

The cards are duly riffled faces towards the helper.

"Have you a card in mind ?"

"Yes"

Our Magician concentrates intensely.

"You could have chosen any one of 52 cards ......"

"You are thinking of a red card............ it's a low number.......... a three.

The card you are thinking of....... is.......... the 3 of Diamonds!"

The Secret

To perform this miracle of mind reading you will require a 'short card'.

You must shorten any card by about 1 mm.

Place the short card in front of the card which you want to force on your helper.

The 3 of Diamonds is a good card to use as a force card as it easily visible and not difficult for the helper to get

Preparation:

Using sticky tape stick some pencil led under your thumb nail.

Showtime:

Give a spectator a notepad and ask them to write any number on their. You pretend to write something with a pencil on your notepad. When they have done ask them to reveal their number. As soon as you see their number secretly write it using the pencil led under your thumb on your notepad. Then reveal what you wrote and accept your applause.

You could ask them to think of a shape, any random drawing or just about anything.

step1: Tell your victim to write down a number on the piece of paper but the number must not have a zero it must be double digited and must be between 1-100.

step2: Once he/she wrote there number tell them you will make a prediction with coins.

step3: Pick take some coins from your pocket.

step4: Tell the person to ad the 2 didgets in there number together then subtract it from the original number next ad the 2 numbers in the answer together and divide by 2 eg:45, 4+5=9, 45-9=36, 3+6=9, 9/2=4.5
